Diablo 4 Season 9 Horadric Jewels: Which Will Be More Popular In Builds?

Diablo 4 Season 9 Horadric Jewels are similar to Occult Gems from Season 7, and can be used with Horadric Spells. There are 15 Horadric Jewels in total, and they are not drop items, but need to be crafted.

The general content of Diablo 4 Season 9 has been almost completely revealed after Campfire Chat. This is a brand new season, but it has a familiar feel.

The special power of Season 9 is Horadric Spells. They work a little differently than in previous seasons. You can decide to some extent what kind of damage Horadric Spells will do and how they will do it. What Are Horadric Jewels?

However, they only appear in Torment difficulty, which means you can’t use them in the early game. You can equip up to three Horadric Jewels at a time, but you can’t equip the same Horadric Jewel. They don’t seem to upgrade, and the benefits they give you are fixed.

What Are Horadric Jewels Effects?

There are 15 types of Horadric Jewels, and some of them are similar to Diablo 3 gems.

  1. Seal of Control: When you equip two or more School of Control Arcana, your control time is extended and Lucky Hit Chance is increased.
  2. Seal of Power: When you more than one Arcana from School of Power, increase movement speed and critical chance.
  3. Seal of Denial: When you over than two Arcana from School of Denial, increase Barrier, Fortify and Thorns.
  4. Horadric Crest: For each Arcana from a different school you equip, gain maximum all elemental resistance and damage reduction.
  5. Reverie Horn: After you damage or kill an enemy, your minions are empowered, becoming larger and dealing bonus damage over 4 seconds.
  6. Scornful Light: The elemental damage you deal and you take will both increase.
  7. Tyrant Bane: After you deal sustained damage to an enemy, they are permanently affected by your sustained damage.
  8. Liminal Echo: If you would take fatal damage, you avoid it instead, and activate Propulsion, then gain 3 seconds of invincibility. This effect can only occur once every 75 seconds.
  9. Idol From Below: You gain a boost to your primary stat and maximum health and are always Unhindered. However, you will be hunted in Sanctuary’s darkest places by Jewel Guardian.
  10. Myriad Stone: After casting a Catalytic Skill, if it was an Ultimate Skill, get 30% Attack Speed for 10 seconds.
  11. Spark of Creation: After casting a Catalytic Skill, gain 10 Primary Resources.
  12. Luminate Eye: The cooldown of your Catalytic Skill is reduced by a quarter.
  13. Brilliant Sigil: The effectiveness of your Infusions is greatly increased.
  14. Elemental Brand: Your Catalytic Skill deals damage equal to one-third of your Infusions over 3 seconds. Lucky Shot: Dealing damage equal to your Infusion has up to a one-third chance to trigger its secondary effect.
  15. The Starflux: Your Catalytic Skill deals double the damage. However, you lose control of Horadric Spells, causing your Catalytic to inherit Infusions randomly.

Which Horadric Jewels Are Good?

Tier S

Idol From Below is clearly in the Tier S category. First, it increases maximum health and core attributes, which are important for all builds. Second, its negative effect is not really a negative effect. It will randomly refresh some monsters in front of the player, and the player can use these monsters to trigger certain skill effects or refresh buffs. Finally, more monsters also mean more drops and gold.

Seal of Power will also be one of the best Horadric Jewels. Because many movement speeds are a very scarce attribute for every class, not to mention the critical hit rate. Classes like Spiritborn need critical chance and movement speed very much, so this Seal of Power will almost become a must-have.

Tier A

The Starflux is a very promising Horadric Jewel. It can double the damage of Catalytic Skill, but you will inherit random elemental infusions, which will hardly have any effect in some builds.

Tyrant Bane is worth mentioning. It may not be as versatile as the above Horadric Jewels. For DoT builds, Tyrant Bane must be chosen. You can match different DoT sources to maximize its effect.

Reverie Horn, like Tyrant Bane, is not very versatile, but it can shine in some builds. Builds that can benefit from Reverie Horn are Necromancer Summoner Build, Minion Barbarian Endgame Build, and Hydra Sorcerer Build. Since both Hydra and Skeleton Mage received improvement in Season 9, Reverie Horn may be more popular than expected.

Diablo 4 Season 9’s Horadric Jewels can not make people feel fresh, but they are better than season 7’s Occult Gems because they provide the exact enhancements players need to improve the efficiency of farming gold and Horadric Strongrooms in nightmare dungeons.

How To Play Dark Citadel?

Dark Citadel consists of three parts:

  • Labrinth of Souls (Right Wing)
  • Enclave of Strife (Left Wing)
  • Dominion of Zagraal (Center Wing)

These three parts are independent, and players who enter them need to cooperate with each other to solve puzzles. In this area, you will encounter some special mechanisms:

  • Soul Siphons: Touch Soul Siphon to activate it, and then a circle will appear around it. You need to kill enemies in the circle to recharge Soul Siphon.
  • Sealing Wards: Defeat a Ward Guardian to get a Ward Stone. You can place it in the sealing barrier to contact the seal.
  • Pressure Switches: Standing on the pressure switch has different colors corresponding to different doors. Standing on it will open the door, and leaving it will close the door.
  • Gateway Charge: Kill Realm Guardians and collect Realm Shards which they drop when they die, which can be used to recharge Gateway. When the energy bar is full, Gateway is fully charged.
  • Impending Doom/ Soul Entanglement/ Souls Consumed: Complete the quest before the progress bar is full.
  • Realm of Oblivion: The area will stack debuffs over time. When the debuffs stack to 100 layers, you will die. The debuffs will stop stacking when you are in the range of Soul Dampener. Path Indicators will guide you out of Realm of Oblivion.
  • Door Barrier: Barrier Guardians have different symbols. Defeating them will unlock the corresponding door barrier.
  • Barrier Ward: Activate Barrier Ward to create a safe area.
  • Counterspell: Kill a Spell Guardian to get a Counterspell Stone. When a Soul Orb is about to hit you, you can use the skill to bounce its Soul Orb back to the caster.
  • Teleporter: All players must be standing inside the teleporter to activate it.

Diablo 4 Season 9 Unique Items: What Builds Do They Work For?

Diablo 4 Season 8 has been running steadily for a while, and it will be replaced by Season 9 in early July. This is a fairly brief season.

Basic skills have a short CD time, and Hooves of the Mountain God can convert the damage of basic skills into AoE damage, which greatly improves the efficiency of clearing monsters and farming Diablo 4 Gold.

Druid: Noxious Spine-Breaker

  • Deals 110% damage to poisoned enemies
  • Increases Willpower by 14-18%
  • Increases Poison Damage by 114-150%
  • Pulverize has a 26-35% chance to hit twice
  • Resource cost reduced by 26-35%
  • Every 10 seconds, Pulverize forms a pool of poison that deals 200-400% of its damage as poison over 6 seconds. This pool splashes an additional 20-40% of the total damage of the puddle to and around it.

This unique item is a two-handed mace that primarily enhances Druid’s ability to use poison and is associated with Pulverize.

Pulverize is one of the Druid’s most common abilities, and Pulverize Druid build and Pulverize Companions build built around it both performed well in the endgame. But if part of its physical damage change into poison damage, its ability to deal damage may be reduced.

However, you can use it in Pulverize Poison Creeper leveling builds, where this unique two-handed hammer can continuously deal AOE poison damage, which is very useful for clearing out ordinary monsters.

Necromancer: The Hand Of Naz

  • Increases Skeletal Mage Damage by 77.5-100%

  • Sacrifice Skeletal Warriors and Golems to gain an additional Skeletal Mage for each minion sacrificed.
  • When a Skeletal Mage attacks an enemy 25 times without dying, it upgrades to a Skeletal Arch-Mage.
  • Skeletal Mages teleport to safety when attacked, and their attacks occasionally shatter on impact, dealing 50-100% additional damage to the target and up to 3 additional targets.

Necromancer summon builds have been improved once again, and they have gained a new summons. To be honest, even if Necromancer players like to use summons very much, they have to seek other skills as their main force at the endgame. Because the summon build has some shortcomings that cannot be ignored, such as scattered damage and low survivability of summons.

Rogue: Deathmask Of Nirmitruq

  • Increases 424-457 maximum health
  • Increases 2-3 skill levels to Flurry
  • Increases 16-25 movement speed
  • Increases 224-296 armor
  • You can now extend the release time of Flurry, which will consume 10% of your health when you are low on energy. Spending health to cast Flurry increases your damage by 30-50% and your attack speed by 50% for 5 seconds, and it will stop automatically when health is low.

This unique helmet will undoubtedly become the focus of Rogue players. Whether it is leveling up, farming, or in the endgame, Flurry is the most commonly used skill of Rogue.

Flurry can cause multiple damage to the enemies in front of it through melee combat. This helmet can greatly enhance the damage of Flurry Rogue, allowing it to almost stably kill enemies. But Rogue has many powerful helmets, so players need to make certain trade-offs.

Sorcerer: Ophidian Iris

  • 30% resistance to all elements

  • Hydra is now a core skill and always summons a 3-headed Hydra whose attacks explode on impact.

This is a unique amulet that primarily improves Sorcerer’s Hydra skill. Hydra is a somewhat interesting skill, but it only appears in some of Sorcerer’s fire builds and it basically means Sorcerer has to sacrifice a survival skill, so it shouldn’t provide much of a boost to Sorcerer.

Spiritborn: Balazan’s Maxtlatl

  • Increases Dexterity by 107-121
  • Increases Max Health by 424-457
  • Increases Thorns by 268-373
  • Bastion +2-3 Rank
  • Each attack deals 200-300% of your Thorns as damage to nearby enemies, and poisons them for 100% of that damage over 3 seconds.
  • Each counterattack with Thorns increases poison damage by 100% over 5 seconds, up to 300%.

This unique pair of pants boosts Spiritborn’s Thorns and Toxin damage, so it’s clear what build he’s best suited for, which is Stinger Spiritborn leveling build. Builds that rely on Toxins and Thorns can use this item, but it probably won’t be very useful in the endgame.

The unique items updated in Season 9 basically strengthen the ability of each class of farm gold in the early stages or enhance some less popular gameplay. We look forward to players’ in-depth exploration and development of these unique uses.

Diablo 4 Season 9 Horadric Strongrooms, Nightmare Dungeons And Horadric Spells: There Will Be Many Changes In The Dungeon

Season Powers: Horadric Spells

First up is Horadric Spells, which, like Boss Powers, are special powers in Season 9. It differs from Boss Powers, and it is divided into three types:

  • Catalysts: Equivalent to Mian Boss Powers
  • Infusions: Change the damage type caused by Catalysts
  • Arcana: Add modifiers to Catalysts

You can equip one Catalyst, one Infusion, and three Arcana. Arcana is divided into three different qualities: Magic, Rare, and Legendary. Catalysts are the core of Horadric Spells, while Infusions and Arcana can change their power.

Although it is slightly more complicated than Boss Powers, the actual experience in the game must be not much different from Boss Powers, and I believe that you who have experienced several seasons must have realized this early. However, Infusions allow Horadric Spells to be more flexible in builds, which is definitely better than Boss Powers, because Boss Powers have a fixed damage type.

Horadric Strongrooms

The new feature added in Season 9 is Horadric Strongrooms, which will appear randomly in Nightmare Dungeons. Think of them as potent micro-dungeons.

Once you enter a nightmare dungeon, you may occasionally come across a Horadric Gateway with noticeable lights and sounds. After clearing out the demons along the way, you can enter it and find Horadric Strongrooms.

After you find a Horadric Strongroom, you can choose to open Strongroom and then meet the requirements of Horadric Pillars. You need to kill monsters according to the requirements before the timer reaches zero. After meeting the requirements, you can get rich rewards, including unique items, Diablo 4 gold, and materials.

Horadric Pillars are divided into different types and different requirements. The higher the difficulty, the more Horadric Pillars will appear. High-quality Horadric Pillars have more difficult requirements and better rewards.

Although the appearance of Horadric Strongrooms is random, there are still some ways to increase the probability of their appearance.

  • 1. Play Nightmare Dungeons on Torment difficulty. Horadric Strongrooms are most likely to appear on Torment 4 difficulty.
  • 2. Upgrade Wayfinder with Horadric Phials, which can enhance it to find Horadric Strongrooms. Horadric Phials are the special currency of season 9.
  • 3. Use the Nightmare Dungeon Sigil with Horadric Strongrooms affix.

You can choose to complete all Horadric Pillars. Each Horadric Pillar will require you to kill demons, and each demon will provide you with 2 Horadric Attunement and extend the timer by 10s.

There are also Shrines scattered in Horadric Strongrooms, which can provide you with some buffs to help you kill demons.

To leave Horadric Strongrooms, you must first defeat the boss that appears. Before you can, you choose between several Horadric caches. The more Horadric Attunement you get, the better the rewards in the treasure chest.

Nightmare Dungeon

Season 9’s Nightmare Dungeon has not changed much, but it adds a new endgame activity. Three nightmare dungeons will be combined, and each one is more difficult than the last. You must carefully choose each affix, because the affixes of these three dungeons are stacked together.

As an upgraded version of the normal nightmare dungeon, it is more difficult and has better rewards. Besides a large amount of gold, the probability of dropping unique items here is also higher.

You must defeat the final boss Astaroth, and his three-headed hellhound mount to leave this dungeon. Astaroth and his mount have independent health bars. If you kill the three-headed hellhound in battle, Astaroth will fall to the ground and fall into a short stiffness. You can take this opportunity to deal a lot of damage to him, and then the three-headed hellhound will revive with full health.

At a certain stage in the battle, Astaroth will jump off the three-headed hellhound and besiege you with it, which will bring significant challenges.

Nightmare Dungeon Affixes

Nightmare Dungeons added new affixes in Season 9:

How To Farm Runes?

Farming runes requires that you have Vessel of Hatred or have unlocked this feature. If you don’t have these conditions, you can’t farm any a rune.

Runes will drop randomly when you farm any monster, but most of the time the probability of a rune appearing is not very high, and even the highest level bosses in the game rarely drop them.

Making a legendary rune consumes a lot of Rune and Diablo 4 gold, and you will spend a lot of time on it. The good news is that there are ways in the game that allow you to get runes steadily.

Elite Enemies

The drop rate and drop quality of Elite Enemies are much higher than that of ordinary monsters, so you can look for dungeons with more elite enemies to farm.

Apparition Incursions

Apparition Incursions is one of the seasonal events in Season 8. You can get Boss Powers, Spectral Ashes and Unveiler’s Oath Reputation.

Whisper Caches

Theme

The theme for Season 9 is Sins of the Horadrim, with Season Powers being Horadric powers.
