Revolutionizing Uniques
In Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.4, GGG made some very interesting changes to how unique items that grant skills work. Previously, a high-item-level unique item, even if its own requirements were low, could only be used by high-level characters. This created a frustrating situation: some interesting, build-capable items would sit idle for dozens of levels.
Patch 0.5.4 addressed this issue by introducing an automatic level scaling system. When a character equips a unique item that grants a skill, that item now grants the character the minimum skill level required to meet its needs. As the character levels up and meets new skill requirements, the granted skill level will gradually increase up to the highest level shown in the item description.
For example, a Lifesprig Unique Wand that previously required a character level of 84 to use its Level 19 Mana Drain can now be equipped at level 1. At level 1, it grants Mana Drain at level 1, which then scales with the character's progress.
PoE 2 lead explained the design philosophy behind this change: "It's a shame that many unique items with interesting abilities can only drop at high levels, and players can only use them late in the game. This change should allow players to experience a variety of character builds earlier."
However, due to this change, the minimum level requirement for some unique items will also be increased to prevent unexpected power spikes. This includes Sacred Flame Unique Sceptre, Eventide Petals Unique Amulet, and Choir of the Storm Unique Amulet, all of which now require level 55 to obtain.
New Rewards
PoE 2 Patch 0.5.4 brings players brand new rewards. After defeating Atziri, Red Queen, her vault now has a chance to drop one of four new Orb of Sacrifice currency items. This is because it possesses extremely high health and numerous instant-death mechanics. Defeating it requires more than just overwhelming it with superior gear; a deep understanding of its every attack and thorough preparation are essential.
This article will detail how to defeat this boss, from initial preparation to how to handle different phases.
Preparation
To conquer The Arbiter of Ash in Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.3, you must complete two preparatory tasks before entering Burning Monolith: obtaining entry tickets and tailoring your character build accordingly.
Entry Tickets
First, you need to find three Crisis Fragments on Atlas as your entry tickets: Ancient Crisis Fragment, Weathered Crisis Fragment, and Faded Crisis Fragment.
You can obtain them by defeating the bosses in randomly generated Iron Citadel, Copper Citadel, and Stone Citadel on the map.
If you want to repeatedly farm The Arbiter of Ash, you can stockpile a large number of "entry tickets" at once.
Character Build
Given that most of The Arbiter of Ash's damage is fire-type and its attacks are extremely lethal, the challenger's character build must have strong survivability and mobility.
First, you need to carry Ignite Charm. Some of The Arbiter of Ash's abilities inflict Ignite damage over time, and Ignite Charm will be useful here.
Movement Speed is also a must-have attribute - many of the boss's mechanics require you to move from one safe zone to another in a very short time. Therefore, wear shoes with high movement speed affixes.

The battle then enters Phase 1. In Phase 1, you need to pay extra attention to three skills:
First is Falling Flame Seeds. The boss will throw seeds into the air, which slowly fall and form a circle on the ground. The area inside the circle is only safe zone; the area outside the circle will explode upon the seeds landing, causing instant-kill damage.
You also need to watch out for Cascading Flame Seeds. This is an upgraded version of Falling Flame Seeds; the boss will teleport multiple times quickly, throwing a seed with each teleport, creating multiple chain explosions.
The last skill to watch out for is Flaming Gale, which is one of the most difficult skills to deal with in Phase 1. The boss will fly into the air, and the entire arena, except for two narrow passages marked with a faint blue tint, will be covered in flames.
Phase 2
In PoE 2, bosses are often more difficult to deal with after entering Phase 2, and The Arbiter of Ash is no exception. When its health drops below 50%, it will pull out the giant sword from the center of the arena, grow wings, and enter Phase 2.
This phase includes some new skills you'll need to know:
First is Chill Seed and Blackflame Seed. The boss will summon a Chill Seed and a Blackflame Seed. Stepping on Chill Seed will freeze the ground, while stepping on Blackflame Seed will set the ground ablaze.
However, these two effects can cancel each other out. You can simply activate one seed before the other to survive.
Second is Pulsing Orb. The boss will create a giant fireball that continuously expands outwards into a ring of fire projectiles. If you or your Minion touches one of these projectiles, it will trigger a chain reaction explosion.
Third is Bating Flame Seeds. This is the most dangerous skill combination in Phase 2. The boss will release fire seeds, but other attacks will accompany the safe zone. For example, a laser might sweep across the safe zone, or the boss might perform a ground-slam attack on the center of the safe zone.
