Get Much PoE 2 Currency from EZG.com to Prepare for the most Major Patch 0.5.0! | Released on May 29
Following the release of patch 0.4.0 last December, the next major patch for Path of Exile 2, 0.5.0, titled Return of the Ancients, is about to be released to all players. It will officially go live on May 29, 2026 at 1 PM PDT, and bring tons of new features and changes.
According to the developers, patch 0.5.0 will be the last major update for the sequel's Early Access, and the official 1.0 will be released at the end of this year. Based on the content from the patch notes, EZG.com will now give you a brief overview of some of the features included in Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.0 and their impact.
Runes of Aldur League Mechanics
In this POE 2 0.5.0 Patch, a new league system called Runes of Aldur has been added, which greatly enriches your exploration depth in the game.
Throughout this league, you will continuously encounter Ezomyte Remnants on various maps, which are standing stones with runewords etched into them. Each Remnant allows you to choose from a set of rune combos to earn specific crafting currencies as a reward.
After you select your rune combo, monsters will appear around the Remnant. These monsters will gain additional effects and abilities based on the selected runes, much like Strongboxes. As more rune combinations are triggered, these monsters will become increasingly difficult to defeat.
New Build Options Creation System
After adding a new league mechanic, POE 2 0.5.0 also added a crafting system for options used in character building within this league, such as Verisium, which drops from Ezomyte Remnant encounters and can runeforged items to grant them a certain amount of Runic Ward.
You can think of Runic Ward as a second layer of health for your character, because it provides you with extra health when your health is depleted, whereas when Ward is depleted, your character is truly dead.
It is understood that all armor pieces in PoE 2, as well as some weapons and off-hand equipment, can be modified using Verisium to add runic ward, thereby enhancing survivability. Uniques can also be modified in the same way.
In addition to protecting your health, Runic Ward can also be used to craft some skills and support gems inherited from Kalguuran League. These are not restricted by classes, so they can be used in any build.
Moreover, PoE 2 Return of the Ancients introduced a new crafting currency called Alloys, which can remove a random affix from an item and add a new affix from a pool of affixes that are not normally available. The number of Socketable Rune types has also been expanded, with over 100 new types added.
Kalguuran Expedition and Atlas Reworked
With the addition of Ezomyte Remnants, Kalguuran Expedition mechanic, ported from the original game, has undergone a major overhaul. These encounters have been moved to the excavation area, and Detonation routes near Remnants will also be affected, resulting in enhanced Expedition monsters within them.
Meanwhile, the entire Atlas is expanding outwards to the southeast coast into the ocean, which will bring new types of exploration with new mechanics and bosses, as well as blast-open and enterable catacombs and dungeons.
New Ascendancies Added
Path of Exile 2 0.5.0 patch will include two new Ascendancy classes: Spiritwalker, which belongs to Huntress, and Martial Artist, which belongs to Monk.
Spiritwalker can use the ability to summon various beasts to their advantage, such as increasing Lightning Nuke, generating minions, or increasing the number and speed of projectiles. It also possesses a Natural Order passive skill node that allows this class to tame Beasts, which is extremely useful in endgame.
Martial Artist Ascendancy possesses a spectral bell that can deliver resonant critical hits within a certain range, channel spectral illusions to cast spells for him, and provide an additional 5 rune slots, which is a significant advantage in group battles.
Endgame Overhauled
Finally, PoE 2 has overhauled the much-criticized endgame, so in this 0.5.0 patch, all content will have a clearer progression, including new systems, new crafting options, new bosses, and new Pinnacle Challenges.
Overall, Path of Exile 2: Return of the Ancients has completely revolutionized the exploration method in endgames, transforming it from a chaotic mess at the beginning to a well-organized one later on. In addition, a complete character build planning system has been added to better guide new players.
From this perspective, this update, which has been announced as the last one for Early Access, is still well worth participating in. However, to succeed in this newest league, you absolutely need a sufficient reserve of currency. Therefore, we recommend that you get safe, affordable, and fast-delivering PoE 2 Currency directly from EZG.com, including Mirror of Kalandra, Divine Orb, and Exalted Orb, among many others!
Is Path of Exile 2 1.0 Far Away? | Previews and Predictions
Currently, the latest patch 0.5.0, Return of the Ancients, for Path of Exile 2 Early Access is released, bringing numerous changes to endgame content, each demonstrating a determination to radically reform the original game. But another piece of news that came with this latest patch is even more exciting for all players: POE 2 1.0 is finally coming soon!
According to the developers, this POE 2 0.5.0 patch will be the last major update in the Early Access version, after which preparations will begin for the official release of this sequel. As soon as this news broke, discussions arose in communities and on various social media platforms regarding the possible content that the official version might contain.
Furthermore, the official release date has become a central topic of discussion, with many believing it will be released at ExileCon 2026, around November 2026. Based on these posts and some credible parts of the leaked information, EZG.com provides a preview and some predictions for Path of Exile 2 1.0:
More Complete Game Content
As of now, PoE 2 only includes Act 4 and some interludes; after completing this challenge, players proceed directly to the endgame. However, the original PoE 1 contained all six Acts, so if the developers want to replicate the success of the original game, they will undoubtedly include Acts 5 and 6.
As for the interludes, although they are a feature of PoE 2, they were created to address players' complaints about repetitive gameplay across the three Acts. Therefore, when new Acts are released, the interludes may be removed, or they may remain as a more solid feature of the sequel.
More Classes Options
With the release of POE 2 0.5.0 patch Return of the Ancients, the game now has 8 selectable base classes and 23 corresponding Ascendancy classes, which sounds like a lot, doesn't it? But it's still far from the original Path of Exile 1.
According to the developers' previous comments in the community, when the 1.0 official version is released, the sequel will contain 12 base classes, each with 3 ascendancy classes, for 36 classes to choose from, which will greatly increase the customization and diversity of builds that players can create.
At the same time, following so many classes is the third Ascendancy Trial, which also has a high probability of being added to the official version of PoE 2. After completing the trial, you will have the opportunity to choose another Ascendancy class and activate its Ascendancy passive skill.
More Gameplay Options
In fact, besides the content lacking compared to the original, there's another thing all players want: more diverse gameplay. PoE 2 now feels like a successful clone of the original; any league mechanic that was well-received in the original is immediately incorporated into the sequel.
Therefore, what they really want are some gameplay elements unique to Path of Exile 2, such as map mechanics, item mechanics, and even new currency. Only in this way can it break free from the shadow of its predecessor and develop its own loyal player base.
In summary, based on the current information, it seems that the official release of Path of Exile 2 1.0 is not far off, but it appears to be more of a copy of the original. If it were to add its own unique gameplay style, it might cause a huge stir upon release. You can wait for more detailed information to decide whether to try it.
About Path of Exile 2
Based on Path of Exile 1, POE 2 has undergone a lot of innovation. Not only did it retain all the expansion content from the first game, but it also introduced new skill systems, new classes, and some modifications to game mechanics in the game. POE 2 has a simpler gaming system than Path of Exile and maintains the rich game content from the first game.

Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5 Delirium Splinters Mapping Loop Is Quietly Scaling Endgame Currency Output
In PoE2 Patch 0.5, Delirium Splinters system has become a very typical density-driven loot-generating strategy in endgame map clearing. Its core doesn't rely on a single burst mechanic, but rather on amplifying the basic drop structure through map environment layering, thus creating a stable, cyclical loot gain.
The main sources of this system's gains are concentrated in three parts: Delirium Splinters, Simulacrum Splinters, and stable Currency drops. With a full configuration, a few high-value rare drops are also included to further increase the upper limit of gains.
The system's gains typically range from 80 to 100 Divine Orbs/hour, but with significant fluctuations, mainly depending on the speed at which map density is achieved and map clearing efficiency.
Prerequisites
To stably run this system in PoE 2 Patch 0.5, certain basic conditions must be met; otherwise, the gains will decrease significantly.
The most fundamental condition is the unlocking and stable triggering of Delirium mechanism. Players need to stably generate or expand Grand Mirror effect and accumulate Delirium coverage across maps, ultimately forming a near 200% complete environment.
Secondly, map clearing speed is crucial. This system is highly sensitive to time efficiency requiring a single map clearing time of 5 to 8 minutes. Below this standard, Splinter gains will be significantly diluted.
Finally, basic resource preparation is essential, including Alchemy Orbs, Chaos Orbs, and Path of Exile 2 Exalted Orbs for map enhancement. These resources don't require extremely high quantities, but a continuous cycle is essential.
Core Process
In PoE 2 Return of the Ancients, the entire system is essentially a four‑step standardized loop, where every step has a direct impact on your ultimate returns.
Step 1: Building Environment
The first step is to establish a stable, high-density Delirium environment. This involves triggering Grand Mirror effect through the basic Delirium mechanism and gradually expanding its influence, causing surrounding maps to continuously overlap.
This stage hinges not on how fast you clear, but on how consistently you sustain the loop. Only when Delirium coverage reaches nearly 200% and remains stable does subsequent map clearing become meaningful.
Step 2: Tablet Configuration
Tablets are one of the core variables determining the upper limit of profitability in the entire system.
The priority in configuration is very clear.
The first priority is increasing Simulacrum Splinter drops and the number of Rare monsters; these directly determine the basic profitability structure.
Secondly, Pack Size and Delirium-related enhancement affixes are used to further increase monster density per unit of map.
In higher-level configurations, you can add Magic monster quantity increases or extra drop bonuses, but these are marginal improvements in profitability and not essential.
Step 3: Map Affixes
In PoE 2 Patch 0.5, the map processing flow usually starts with basic enhancements. Increase the number of affixes using Alchemy, and then adjust the affix structure using Chaos Orbs to bring the map into a high monster density state.
In some builds, Corruption is used to further amplify the potential rewards, but this is a high-risk operation and is only recommended after the basic structure is stable.
The core direction of affix selection always revolves around three points: Pack Size, Item Quantity, and Rare Monster Density. These three factors together determine the single-map reward structure.
Step 4: Looping Through Maps
Once the map and tablet are configured, PoE 2 players can enter the looping through map phase.
The ideal time for each map is between 5 and 7 minutes, aiming for a near-complete clear. What this phase really depends on is not perfect performance, but reliable consistency in repetition.
The essence of the entire system is to continuously generate Splinters and Currency by frequently killing high-density monsters, thus forming a stable reward cycle.
Master Selection
In PoE 2 Return of the Ancients system, Master selection affects the overall reward structure.
Jado is usually the default priority choice, its advantage being that it can directly increase the tablet effect strength and further amplify map affix rewards. Its role is to increase the overall amplifier multiplier of the system.
In contrast, Dorianis is more focused on functional expansion and performs weaker in terms of direct Splinter gains, making it more suitable as a low-cost or transitional option.
Tablet Configuration Breakdown Logic
PoE 2 Return of the Ancients Tablet configurations can be broadly divided into three directions, each corresponding to a different benefit structure.
Stable-reward configurations primarily revolve around Splinter drops and Rare monster count, offering stable overall performance but with a limited ceiling, suitable for mid-level map clearing.
High-yield burst configurations further stack Pack Size and multiple drop affixes, ideally reaching 100 Divine/hour, but requiring high map and deck construction.
Cost-control configurations only retain the core Splinter and monster count affixes, ensuring stable output with minimal investment, more suitable for the initial stages.
It's important to note that Tablet benefits exhibit significant diminishing returns; once monster density reaches a certain threshold, the benefits of further stacking similar affixes will rapidly decrease.
Reward Structure
In PoE 2 Return of the Ancients, the rewards typically come from three sources:
- The first is Simulacrum Splinters, the most stable and largest source of rewards.
- The second is Currency drops, including Divine Orbs and Exalted Orbs, which provide a stable cash flow.
- The third is high-value drops, which fluctuate more but still contribute significantly in high-density maps.
The overall difference in rewards primarily stems from map density and clearing speed, rather than luck in individual drops.
Common Issues
In actual PoE 2 Patch 0.5 implementation, unstable rewards usually arise from two reasons: first, map density not reaching the threshold; second, unreasonable Tablet affix combinations.
If Splinter drops are low, it's likely because of insufficient Pack Size or Rare mob quantity.
The core bottleneck preventing efficiency improvements is usually not deck building, but a clearing speed below 6 minutes per map, which directly lowers the overall reward ceiling.
The above is a detailed farming guide. If you want to learn more about Path of Exile 2 news, follow EZG Facebook. We will update the latest game news here in a timely manner, and we will also give away gifts from time to time.
The core logic of Delirium Splinters system is actually very clear. It does not rely on complex mechanics, but continuously amplifies the basic drop structure through the superposition of map density, Tablet multiplier, and Delirium coverage.
What truly determines the benefit is not the strength of a single mechanic, but the synergistic efficiency of three factors in PoE 2 Return of the Ancients: map density, map clearing speed, and Tablet combination quality.
Only when these three factors reach a stable state can the system enter a truly high-yield cycle.
Path of Exile 2 Dusk Ring Crafting Guide: Best Endgame Ring for Massive Damage Builds in Return of the Ancients
Runes of Aldur League mechanic in Path of Exile 2: Return of the Ancients will continue until around August, and we're now in the final stages of the game. If you're looking for a piece of equipment that can significantly boost your build's damage during this crucial period, Dusk Ring is the way to go.
As a Unique Base ring in PoE2, Dusk Ring's most unique benefit is that it breaks the limits of conventional equipment, allowing players to create extreme damage builds.
It's especially suitable for various Mercenary builds, Warrior's Smith of Kitava, and Witch's Lightning Warp - High-end builds that heavily rely on stacking multiple prefix attributes and have ample resistances.
Why is it suitable for the final and endgame stages? And how do you obtain it in the game?
Because, crafting Dusk Ring is costly, requiring several hundred Divine Orbs, and it requires maximum resistances. However, its market price is currently around 2,000 Divine Orbs, and it may be even higher.
Therefore, whether you're using it yourself or reselling it at a high price on the market, crafting a Dusk Ring is essential. I will now explain its crafting and perfect forging in detail.
Core Effects
Before understanding how to craft it, let's review the main function of Dusk Ring. While regular rare rings in Path of Exile 2 can have a maximum of 3 prefixes and 3 suffixes, Dusk Ring's inherent attributes change this rule: it has 4 prefixes and 2 suffixes.
Prefixes are generally used by players to place the most important attributes for their build, usually powerful offensive attributes such as percentage damage, maximum life, or critical strike chance. Suffixes are generally auxiliary defensive attributes such as resistances and attribute points.
Dusk Ring directly adds a core offensive affix to the build, making it highly sought after by many offensive builds.
However, at the same time, losing a suffix also means a reduction in its defensive and resistance attributes. This is why it is best suited for use in the late game, when your gear is already complete and your defensive and resistance attributes are generally sufficient.
Therefore, to obtain a perfect Dusk Ring, you not only need to acquire the base material, but more importantly, you need to imbue it with the six most powerful affixes.
Base Material Acquisition
Currently, there are two main ways to obtain base materials in Path of Exile 2: Return of the Ancients:
1. Challenge Fractured Lake
Dusk Rings are exclusive drops from Fractured Lake. This map is extremely difficult, and the monsters there are mirror twins, meaning you'll face two identical enhanced elite monsters each time.
After successfully clearing the map, a Fragmented Mirror will appear at the end. Interacting with it will drop a special mechanic-specific piece of jewelry unique to this map, and Dusk Ring is one of them.
Note that Dusk Rings dropped here will have a Mirrored tag, meaning they cannot be crafted or refined using Currency. Therefore, you need to collect 5 such Dusk Rings and sell them simultaneously to PoE 2 NPC shop. NPC will return a brand new, non-mirrored, clean Dusk Ring base material to you.
Only in this way can subsequent crafting proceed.
2. Marketplace Trading
This is also the fastest method. If you can't guarantee a consistent number of runs of Fractured Lake, you can trade with other players on the in-game marketplace. Clean Dusk Rings generally cost tens to hundreds of Divine Orbs, while higher-tier base items will fetch even higher prices.
Affix Crafting
After obtaining Dusk Ring base item, the next step is to craft top-tier affixes. The four prefixes should primarily focus on offensive attributes, while the two suffixes should primarily focus on support attributes.
Prefixes
First, use Orb of Annulment to remove all affixes from Dusk Ring except for the target affix. Next, use Chaos Orb to repeatedly reroll the remaining affix until you get a Tier 1 (T1) bonus damage affix, typically an attack bonus such as frost, lightning, fire, or physical damage.
Once you get this affix, you can use Divine Orbs to optimize its stats. Of course, this step is not necessary; you can do it if you're aiming for perfect stats, or skip it if you're satisfied with the initial stats.
Next, use two Exalted Orbs to randomly add two more affixes to Dusk Ring. After obtaining three affixes, use Deafening Essence of Scorn to defile Dusk Ring, preventing it from being fractured later when using Fracturing Orb. Using Fracturing Orb has approximately a 33% chance of successfully fracturing a Tier 1 affix.
After obtaining this, you will have four affixes. Use two Orbs of Annulment to remove two affixes from the ring, leaving only one fractured affix and one regular affix.
Use Chaos Orb to repeatedly reroll the regular affix until you get another Tier 1 affix. Therefore, I say that crafting a perfect Dusk Ring is very costly. Make sure you have sufficient budget reserves. If not, you can buy PoE 2 Currency from EZG.com, which can help alleviate budget pressure and save more time.
Next, and crucially, we use an Omen of Dextral Exaltation and an Exalted Orb to add a suffix to the ring. Dusk Ring's quality can reach a maximum of 40%, which is quite rare in Path of Exile 2; most rings only have a quality of 20%.
Therefore, we can use an Omen of Dextral Crystallisation to lock the suffix and then use Essence of the Breach to consume it, adding 20% quality to the ring, thus giving Dusk Ring a 40% quality.
Why increase the ring's quality? This is because after PoE2 Patch 0.5.4b, the core function of Catalysts changed. They no longer directly affect the probability of randomly rolling affixes, but rather amplify the values of existing affixes and, in conjunction with the new Catalytic Exaltation mechanism, produce a decisive impact. Some Omens also have a similar function.
Here you can use Tul's Catalyst or other Catalysts corresponding to the attribute bonuses you want to roll, along with Omen of Catalysing Exaltation and Omen of Sinistral Exaltation to guide the generation of new affixes.
If you are using Tul's Catalyst, you will get two Cold-type prefix choices: one for Frost Damage Percentage and the other for Frost Damage Added to Attacks.
At this point, you have obtained three fixed-value prefix damage affixes. For the last one, you can use Reaver Catalyst to forcibly improve the ring's quality, guiding the fourth prefix to an attack attribute affix. Remove the lowest-value affix from the prefixes and use Desecrated Currency to fill the remaining prefix slot.
Suffixes
Ideally, the last two suffixes should be item rarity and all resistances.
Use Orb of Annulment to remove unsatisfactory suffixes, control the effect with Omen of Dextral Annulment, and then consume Divine Orbs until you get the two suffixes you want. If you've already obtained a satisfactory suffix and want to reroll another, remember to use Omen of Dextral Erasure simultaneously. This allows you to reroll only the unsatisfactory suffix without affecting other existing affixes.
If you're still not satisfied with the stats, you can use some Divine Orbs to adjust them. However, as mentioned earlier, this step is not necessary; players can choose whether to do it based on their needs.
If you have any other questions about the late game of Path of Exile 2, you can also follow EZG Facebook, where there are free Divine Orbs and other resource giveaways.
Finally, if you want double the strength, there's absolutely no need to craft another one; the cost is too high and the time too long. You can directly duplicate a Dusk Ring that already has 6 perfect affixes after obtaining Mirror of Kalandra.
Go craft this ring that can make you dominate PoE2 endgame!
PoE 2 Frogmancer Build Explained: Best Summoner Build for Fast Mapping and Endgame Clearing
This week's Build of the Week for Path of Exile 2: Return of the Ancients features a very interesting and novel build - Frogmancer. If you enjoy clearing maps and mobs with a ton of summons, freeing up your hands, this build is perfect for you, and the cost of each configuration can be chosen from low to high.
Where do these frogs come from, and what is their purpose?
Doedre's Undoing, a special Lineage Support Gem, summons thousands upon thousands of frogs, dealing massive explosive damage to enemies. You hardly need to do anything yourself; the constantly spawning frogs are the best weapon.
However, in PoE 2, there are usually only four frogs at most. How does this effect occur?
Core Mechanics
The core mechanic of Frogmancer is to stack curse effects, summoning many Witchtoads that automatically jump to the target enemy, creating a high-damage chaos explosion. Of course, you can simply call them frogs.
While by default, each cursed ground can only harbor four Witchtoads, you can use Blasphemy in conjunction with regular curses, or specific mechanisms (such as Stormweaver), to continuously replace and refresh old curses with new ones.
Because the system determines that the cursed ground is constantly being reset, the old frogs won't disappear, thus exceeding the limit and instantly creating an army of dozens of frogs on the screen.
One of the core components required for this is Doedre's Undoing.
Core Configuration
Doedre's Undoing
Doedre's Undoing's underlying code logic changed in Path of Exile 2: Return of the Ancients. It transforms cursed abilities aided by it (such as Despair) into Cursed Ground. Enemies standing within its range are cursed, and the ground continuously generates Witchtoads at fixed time intervals.
These Witchtoads automatically pounce on nearby enemies, creating chaotic explosions with a radius of 1.6 meters - Dark Consequences. This is Frogmancer's primary damage source. It's Int Stacking mechanism in patch 0.4 has been changed to a system where damage is proportionally copied and amplified based on the level of the affected curse skill:
- Level 14: Base damage 95-177.
- Level 20: Base damage 217-404.
- Level 30: Base damage 826-1533.
- Level 40 (Max): Base damage 3325-6175.
At max level, the curse's damage is almost enough to instantly kill bosses in the late game.
Acquisition Method
1. Trigger an Expedition
By opening higher-tier Logbooks or triggering a Grand Expedition in Uncharted Waters, defeating the four main bosses (such as Olroth) has a very high chance of directly dropping this unique Bloodline Gem.
2. Atlas Endgame
Completing the final boss fights of the six new endgame storylines within Path of Exile 2 will grant access to this gem in their unique drop pool. Placing an Infused Unique Scarab in Atlas significantly increases the drop rate of rare monsters within the map.
3. Gambling Mechanism
Farming in specific maps to obtain Divination Cards that drop random unique and Bloodline Gems allows you to exchange them for gems or reforge them.
4. Market Trading
This is the most reliable and quickest method to acquire gems. If you have sufficient PoE 2 Currency, this approach is worth considering, although prices may rise after Frogmancer is featured in Build of the Week.
Next, you should aim for higher levels, which means more frogs and higher damage. Currently, there are two ways to achieve this: one is to increase the level of Doedre's Undoing, and the other is to increase the summon cap (i.e., the number of frogs).
Upgrade Gem Levels
1. Elemental Weakness
Elemental Weakness is the top choice as a curse gem to increase Frogmancer's damage level. Given the strict controls on skill level affixes on equipment and Passives in Path of Exile 2, it boasts four extremely powerful tags: Curse, Fire, Cold, and Lightning.
These equipment affixes all appear on this one gem, allowing players to forcibly boost their Frogmancer skill level to 40, directly stacking the frog's explosion damage to 6175.
2. Sunsplinter
Sunsplinter is a unique array bucketler. Its key function is to directly stack your core curse skills (such as Elemental Weakness) by 6-9 levels, simultaneously increasing all affix attributes. Therefore, it is also an essential piece of equipment for Frogmancer.
Acquisition Method
- Dropped by rare elite monsters with Unique Modifiers and Atlas map bosses.
- Orb of Chance Gambling Upgrade.
- Expedition and Grand Expedition Chests.
- Market trading, requiring approximately dozens of Chaos Orbs; for a fully upgraded version, dozens of Divine Orbs are needed.
3. Apocalypse Chant Siphoning Wand
Next, you'll need a rare wand, such as Apocalypse Chant Siphoning Wand, which provides a 4-level bonus and a 1-level elemental level bonus to all your curse skills.
This wand is very complex to craft. If you have enough time and currency, consider crafting it yourself; if your budget is limited, you can try to find a bargain on the trading market.
Crafting Steps
Step 1
Obtain a top-tier base wand. High-quality Siphoning Wand bases are usually obtained by defeating monsters in Tier 15-16 maps, ensuring it has 2 Empty Rune Sockets.
Step 2
This step consumes the most PoE 2 Currency. First, you need to continuously reforge prefixes using specific Kalguur Alloys until you get +4 to Level of all Curse Skill Gems.
Once you get +4 Curse, if the weapon has many other useless attributes, use Orb of Annulment to gamble and remove all the useless suffixes.
Step 3
Enchant it with +1 to Level of all Fire/Cold/Lightning Skill Gems. The system will automatically name this yellow weapon Apocalypse Chant based on your top-tier prefix combination.
Step 4
Using a pre-prepared Hedgewitch Assandra's Rune of Wisdom, right-click the rune and insert it into the first empty rune slot on the staff. The ultimate wand, perfectly suited for Path of Exile 2 Frogmancer build, is complete.
If your budget is limited, you can also buy PoE 2 Currency from EZG.com. Using code ROA now grants an 8% discount, and the transaction is absolutely safe and fast.
Increasing Summoning Limits
1. Overabundance
Directly grants the support gem an additional summon limit, instantly increasing the base number of cursed ground units in a match.
2. Runebinder's Alloy
Runebinder's Alloy is a new surgical stripping Crafting Currency added to PoE 2 Runes of Aldur League mechanic. It also increases the frog spawn limit by one. You can craft it through Rune Recipes or obtain it from chests opened by defeating Adventure Bosses.
3. Stormweaver
This ascendancy is the core element that fundamentally changes Frogmancer build's mechanics, providing a summon limit of two frogs.
4. Idol of Uldurn
Not only does it increase the summon limit by one, but it also grants a Skills have +1 to Limit effect.
This maximizes both the number of summoned frogs and their damage output.
Finally, equip Midnight Braid, Cospri's Will, and Windscream, and unlock Whispers of Doom talent. This build will summon a massive army of frogs to fight for you in Path of Exile 2: Return of the Ancients, generating enough explosive damage to instantly wipe out large groups of monsters on the map.
If you have any further questions about Frogmancer or are looking for other interesting builds, please follow EZG Facebook. We will share the latest build guides there.
An even more interesting aspect is that you can also equip Defilers to summon additional maggots, which can be used as food for your summoned frogs or for grinding experience points - it's quite fun! Go try it out!
PoE 2 Summoner Build Guide Patch 0.5: Why Your Minions Stop Doing Damage in Endgame?
In Patch 0.5 of Path of Exile 2, the damage ceiling of a Summoner build often depends on a high level of attention to detail. Many players hit a damage plateau after gearing up, neglecting the numerous low-cost or even zero-cost synergies between skill gems, support gems, and passive nodes.
PoE 2's damage calculation system is complex, with significant differences in returns between different categories such as percentage-based damage increase, more damage, and increased damage taken by enemies.
Blindly stacking a single attribute often leads to diminishing returns, while proper resource allocation can yield substantial improvements at minimal cost. The following will outline a complete damage enhancement strategy from four dimensions: skill gem adjustments, aura selection, gear optimization, and Minion capture.
Base Damage Boost
Pain Offering is the most cost-effective damage source in Summoner system. This skill sacrifices a Skeletal Minion to provide a massive damage boost to other Minions in the area.
Many Path of Exile 2 players forgo this skill because of reluctance to sacrifice minions. However, choosing Skeletal Cleric, which has the lowest cost, as a sacrifice, combined with multiple minion slots, allows for high uptime without significantly affecting the total number of minions.
The dual-sacrifice approach is also severely underestimated. Enabling both Pain Offering and Bone Offering simultaneously, combined with the 50% bonus from Sacrificial Offering node, results in a substantial overall damage increase.
While this approach occupies two skill slots and one sacrificed minion, the benefits far outweigh the investment in boss fights.
Upwell Application
Upwell is one of the most overlooked damage amplifiers in PoE 2 Patch 0.5. Upwell 1 costs 15 Spirits and provides a 30% increase in minion damage; Upwell 2 costs 30 Spirits and provides a 50% increase. Crucially, these supports can be activated simultaneously.
Embedding Upwell into an aura skill or any permanent aura will trigger a buff when mana is consumed. Thanks to the unique mechanics of Skeleton Frost Mage, Upwell 1 and 2 can be enabled simultaneously in the same build, trading 45 Spirit points for an 80% Minion damage increase.
For endgame characters already possessing high Critical Rate and Critical Damage, the actual benefit of this increase far exceeds other options with the same Spirit cost.
Damage Bonus Types
Minion damage bonuses can be additive or multiplicative. Testing shows that once Minion Critical Damage exceeds 800%, the marginal benefit of further stacking Critical Damage decreases significantly.
At this stage, percentage-based minion damage increases are more beneficial. Specifically, when the base critical damage is high, a 40% critical damage increase provides approximately 4.4% global damage, while a 40% minion damage increase provides up to 13.3% global damage.
This means that the passive tree selection for a PoE 2 Summoner should be dynamically adjusted based on gear stage. Early game priority should be given to Critical Rate and Critical Damage, while mid-to-late game priority should gradually shift towards additive attributes such as Minion Damage and Attack Speed.
In practical testing, a 12% increase in Minion Damage has proven more beneficial than a 15% increase in Critical Damage, a phenomenon particularly noticeable on endgame characters with high-quality jewels and gear.
Offensive Aura Selection
In PoE 2 Return of the Ancients aura system, Haste Aura and Extra Physical Damage Aura are the preferred choices for summoners. Attack Speed and base damage bonuses provided by these two are applicable to most Minion types and are not limited by Minion's own aura effects.
Vulnerability Methods
Making enemies take more damage is another efficient way to amplify damage. Common methods include:
- Using Vulnerability to reduce enemy physical resistance, or using Elemental Weakness against specific elemental damage types.
- If Minion primarily deals Chaos damage, Withered effect applied upon contact can cause enemies to take up to 50% additional damage.
- Shock mechanic in PoE 2 is also noteworthy. After an enemy is Shocked, their damage taken increases by 20%.
This buff can be reliably maintained if Minion possesses Lightning Damage or gains a global Shock chance through equipment. Furthermore, Mark abilities, combined with specific Scepter affixes, can nearly double the damage taken by Mark targets.
New Support Gem Usage
Her Declaration support gem added in Patch 0.5 provides a unique combined offensive and defensive effect. Consuming 30 Spirit, this gem Intimidates enemies within its aura for 4 seconds, making them take 10% more damage and deal 10% less damage.
For PoE 2 Return of the Ancients Summoner builds with ample Spirit and a focus on maximizing damage output, this is a worthwhile investment.
Weapon Idol Selection
Idol slot selection for Sylvan's Effigy Stoic Sceptre needs to be dynamically adjusted based on existing attributes. The tested damage ranking is as follows:
- Primate Idol provides the highest benefit with its 40% increase in Minion damage;
- Idol of Sycophant provides the second highest benefit with its 20% random elemental damage bonus;
- Lightning Damage and Attack Speed Idols are prioritized based on existing attack speed thresholds. When Minion Attack Speed has reached 1.5 hits per second or higher, the benefit of Attack Speed Idol decreases significantly.
Scepter Affix Priority
The value of Increased Damage Taken by Enemies affix on Sylvan's Effigy Stoic Sceptre directly affects actual output. A fully rolled 100% damage increase affix is equivalent to doubling global damage. When selecting PoE 2 Patch 0.5 Summoner weapon, this affix should have a higher priority than Minion level or base damage bonus.
High-Quality Minion Capture
The combination of a minion affixes is fundamental to damage output. During the transition phase, prioritize capturing minions with Critical Rate affix, which can increase Critical Rate from 25% to 100%. In the mid-game, Critical Rate needs to be paired with an additional damage or Enrage affix.
In the endgame, maximize Critical Rate using rings and jewelry, keeping only two additional damage or Enrage affixes on the minion itself. Properly capturing and developing minions is a crucial turning point in PoE 2 summoner, propelling you from millions of DPS to tens of millions.

By strategically planning the combination of Pain Offering and two Upwells, dynamically adjusting the ratio of Critical damage to minion damage in Passive Tree, optimizing weapon Idol selection and Scepter affixes, and capturing minions with appropriate affixes for different stages, you can achieve double the damage in PoE 2 Return of the Ancients Summoner at a very low cost.
Summoner builds often hit a damage plateau even after basic gearing. One of the fastest ways to push past it is to buy Path of Exile 2 Currency from EZG.com, giving immediate access to Divine Orbs and Exalted Orbs for high-end upgrades.
With enough currency, you can secure key pieces like a strong Sceptre, optimized jewels, and high-end rings, quickly boosting minion DPS into endgame levels.
Path of Exile 2 Ascendancy Problems: False Choices Threaten Build Freedom Before 1.0 Launch
Path of Exile 2: Return of the Ancients is currently in its final major patch cycle before the official release of Patch 1.0, which is expected to launch at the end of this year. The most anticipated aspect is that Path of Exile 2 will officially transition to a free-to-play model in patch 1.0.
For players who have been waiting patiently, this is GGG's only chance to prove their wait was worthwhile.
The recent patch 0.5.4 optimized many aspects of the game, including the new Atlas Passive Tree, expanded customization features in Expedition mode, and dynamically adjustable Unique Items, suggesting a focus on providing players with more choices and freedom.
However, Ascendancy Classes in PoE 2 clearly offer insufficient choice and freedom, and the developers haven't addressed this issue. This is a problem that must be resolved before the 1.0 release.
False Choices
Even though each class in Path of Exile 2 has more than one passive branch, the design of these branches and the characteristics of each class can lead all players to a single, limited choice.
Taking Witchhunter ascendancy class as an example, Concentration and Sorcery Ward are its two core passives, while Obsessive Rituals is a must-have starting passive.
Obsessive Rituals halve Witchhunter's armor and dodge chance. In compensation, it grants Sorcery Ward ability, providing direct damage mitigation against elemental damage.
This involves a balance: sacrificing physical damage reduction and dodge chance from armor gains protection against elemental damage.
This means physical damage will become your biggest threat. Ceremonial Ablution, as another passive branch, can fill this gap, allowing Sorcery Ward to resist not only elemental damage but also all other types of damage.
This is where the false choice begins. You can't just choose Obsessive Rituals; you either need to max out all four, or you don't need to put any points into them.
Secondly, there's an even more obvious example. Witchbane is a method to interrupt monster concentration, reducing the frequency of monsters casting Concentration by slowing down their cooldown recovery.
Theoretically, it seems useful, but in the current Path of Exile 2 Return of the Ancients, you can kill monsters much faster, making this mechanism seem useless.
This is where No Mercy comes in. It directly transforms Witchbane mechanism into a damage multiplier bonus, making it much more useful. Therefore, these two passive branches are essentially linked; you can't just choose one.
Independent Choice
Of course, not all choices are illusory. There's one example that truly represents a choice for the player: Pitiless Killer and Judge Jury and Executioner. Pitiless Killer adds an execute effect to all your attacks, allowing you to instantly kill monsters when their health falls below a certain threshold.
Judge Jury and Executioner provides a special hit mechanic: when attacking a target at full health, it removes 5%-30% of their current health.
These two passive branches clearly have a synergistic effect, utilizing Judge Jury and Executioner to reduce monster health, quickly approaching the threshold for a kill. Furthermore, even used separately, they are both powerful branches in their respective attack domains, representing two very independent mechanics.
Design Space Limitations
Besides certain ascendancy passive branch designs leading to false choices for players, they may also limit the future design space of PoE 2 itself. Currently, there are two most obvious examples in the game.
1. Titan
Titan's Hulk Form increases minor passive skills on Passive Tree by 50%, but it also limits GGG's design of Passive Tree content for all classes. This is because Hulk Form's buff is too powerful.
For example, it could reduce the cooldown time of classes that need to frequently cast skills by half, even approaching zero cooldown in the late game; or it could allow players aiming for high damage to instantly kill bosses after obtaining this buff.
These situations have forced developers to redesign basic nodes, adjust the base values of the buffs, and even rework mechanics altogether. A single ascendancy node can impact the design space for the entire class balance.
2. Unfurled Finger
Unfurled Finger is a special node for Ritualists. The same issues not only arise in passive node design but also affect the choice of Path of Exile 2 Items.
The benefits of Unfurled Finger for Ritualists far exceed those for other classes. It provides an extra ring slot. An extra key piece of item not only directly and significantly boosts your stats but also has an exponential impact on Ritualist stat stacking.
Furthermore, Patch 0.5.4 further amplified the emergence of extreme builds in the game. This node design is not an isolated case; balance design must be redesigned and recalculated around the bonus from extra equipment slots.
Unless players consume significantly more PoE 2 Currency to upgrade and craft items, ordinary classes will never catch up to the stat caps of classes with more equipment slots.
Besides the additional bonuses from passive branches, some Ascendancy classes inherently cause design conflicts. For example, Lich's Eternal Life allows its life value to remain unchanged while an energy shield is active.
This very existence prevents other classes from acquiring a large number of energy-penetrating shield-type affixes. For Lich, this directly provides an additional life protection mechanism, but also makes them directly bound to it.
Changes and Problems
Regardless, while Ascendancy class design in Path of Exile 2 still has many areas for improvement, GGG has shown a clear trend in its Ascendancy design from the initial Patch 0.5.0 to the current Patch 0.5.4.
From simple numerical bonuses and single effect enhancements to the current class-specific passive trees, interactive growth systems, and broader expansion of behavioral logic, all demonstrate that PoE2 Return of the Ancients is gradually improving.
The main problems currently existing can be categorized as follows:
1. Increased Design Complexity
The new Ascendancy class system is significantly broader, offering more gameplay space. This means higher complexity, with various branching mechanisms intricately intertwined and mutually restrictive.
2. Outdated Ascendancy Design
Some early Ascendancy class designs still relied on single-node strength logic, leading to the development of some extreme builds.
3. Node Binding
As exemplified earlier, some Ascendancy classes had several passive nodes bound together to achieve leveling without side effects. To maximize character strength, player choice was significantly limited.

In short, while Ascendancy system in Path of Exile 2 is improving, it's not perfect yet. It requires further adjustments and changes to achieve the balance and true freedom of choice that both players and developers strive for, and to meet the player challenges of version 1.0.
