Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.5b: How Do You Farm Currency After Expedition Buffs in Forbidden Rites?

Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.5b: How Do You Farm Currency After Expedition Buffs in Forbidden Rites?

Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.5b mainly focuses on bug fixes, crash issues, and adjustments to some endgame content.

Among these fixes, the abnormal reward issue that previously occurred in Trial of Chaos has received particular attention. In addition, Expedition drops, Ritual encounters, Ultimatum, and multiple maps and online features have also been adjusted.

Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.5b: How Do You Farm Currency After Expedition Buffs in Forbidden Rites?

For players currently trying to earn their first Divine Orb in POE2 Forbidden Rites, there are also several changes worth paying attention to.

Expedition

Patch 0.5.5b adjusts the drop performance of POE 2 Expedition, fixes an issue where some Expedition monsters could not drop Expedition Tablets, increases the number of Tablets dropped, and fixes an issue that prevented Expedition from naturally appearing in Endgame.

Based on these changes, Expedition farming is currently one of the most efficient ways to farm POE 2 currency in Forbidden Rites. First, you should choose the Increase Number of Runic Monster Markers modifier to increase the number of Runic Monster Markers on the map.

Chance to Duplicate Runic Monsters modifier has a chance to duplicate generated Runic Monsters, while Quantity of Log Books increases the number of Logbooks that drop. You should also choose modifiers that increase the chance of Vile Relics appearing.

After entering the map, focus on finding Runic Monsters. By duplicating monsters, increasing the number of Remnants, and improving your chances of getting Log Books, you can increase your overall returns.

Try to route through areas with a high density of Runic Monsters and arrange your path based on the locations and effects of Remnants. Remnants with effects such as Opulent Rune and monster duplication can be prioritized.

However, as more and more Path of Exile 2 players adopt the same Expedition Farming strategy, the supply of Log Books will also increase quickly, which could cause their prices to fall. If you plan to take advantage of this profit opportunity, it is recommended to sell your stored Log Books as soon as possible to avoid shrinking profits.

Trial of Chaos

Early in Path of Exile 2 Forbidden Rites event, Trial of Chaos had a serious bug that allowed some players to join an already completed Trial of Chaos instance and receive Ascendancy Points after boss was defeated. Under the normal mechanics, only players who were already inside the instance when boss died should receive the corresponding rewards.

This issue allowed some players to bypass the normal challenge process and quickly obtain large amounts of POE 2 currency. If it had continued, it could also have affected the overall game economy. Fortunately, Patch 0.5.5b has fixed this bug.

Now, when you normally fight a boss in POE 2, you should enter, complete, and leave the instance through the standard process. Do not attempt to obtain rewards through disconnecting, rejoining in an incorrect order, or other abnormal methods. Even if you are not intentionally exploiting a bug, these actions may prevent you from receiving rewards correctly.

Ultimatum

Ultimatum changes mainly affect the retry system after failing a challenge. Previously, when new players used Trial of Chaos or Ultimatum-related tickets for the first time, they could easily fail because they were unfamiliar with the mechanics, losing both a challenge and opportunity and their resources.

Now, after failing, you can obtain another relevant challenge opportunity from Trial Master at Temple of Chaos entrance in POE 2, significantly reducing the cost of trial and error in Ultimatum.

Path of Exile 2 Ultimatum

Crash

Several hotfixes in Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.5b target game crashes, including client crash and instance crash. The former mainly refers to errors within the game client that cause you to crash directly, while the latter occurs when a map or dungeon instance runs into an issue that may prevent the current map from functioning properly.

One noticeable issue was related to Atlas Map Device. Using the device could trigger a buffer underflow crash, so Map Device had previously been temporarily disabled. After the issue was fixed, POE 2 has re-enabled Atlas Map Device.

In addition, POE 2 development team fixed several abnormal issues in certain maps and activities. These changes remain important for the stability of Forbidden Rites Event.

Ritual Bug

POE 2 Ritual content has also received multiple bug fixes. Previously, monsters that respawned during some Ritual encounters could behave abnormally, being unable to attack you or becoming impossible to defeat, preventing the entire Ritual Encounter from being completed properly.

In addition, some monsters generated by Strongboxes and appearing during Ritual encounters could experience similar issues. Patch 0.5.5b fixes these problems, allowing Ritual combat process to proceed normally.

Patch 0.5.5b also adjusts the guidance for some campaign quests. After defeating Kezuli in Temple of Kopec, you will now receive further guidance related to completing Ritual. For new Path of Exile 2 players encountering this content for the first time, this makes the progression more straightforward.

Visual and Interaction

POE 2 Patch 0.5.5b also fixes several visual and interaction issues with map mechanics. In Expedition, some Verisium Remnants could still leave abnormal visual effects after exploding. This issue has now been fixed.

Delirium Mirror in Forbidden Rites had a similar map interaction problem. In certain maps, a respawned Delirium Mirror could be blocked by the surrounding environment, preventing you from properly entering or triggering Delirium Encounter. This patch fixes the issue.

In addition, Patch 0.5.5b addresses several abnormalities in Path of Exile 2 map quests and campaign encounters, as well as incorrect health and mana displays in co-op games. For players using a controller, some issues that occurred when adjusting stash tabs have also been fixed.

Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.5b mainly fixes bugs that affect the gameplay experience while improving the rewards of some endgame content. For players who are currently building their wealth, the changes to Expedition and Ritual are worth paying close attention to, as they may directly affect the efficiency of resource acquisition during Forbidden Rites event farming.

PoE 2 0.5.5 Forbidden Rites Event Ritual Farming: Best Tablet Setups for Omens and Favor Rerolls

PoE 2 0.5.5 Forbidden Rites Event Ritual Farming: Best Tablet Setups for Omens and Favor Rerolls

In PoE 2 Patch 0.5.5, Ritual remains a viable long-term farming activity; however, simply running Rituals whenever you encounter them in maps isn't enough to maximize returns.

Atlas nodes, Ritual Tablets, and Waystone Pack Size all directly impact Tribute generation, Favor rerolls, and reward acquisition efficiency. In the endgame, Head of the King can further enhance the entire farming setup.

The strategy has two tiers: prioritize Omen chance on a budget, then shift toward extra Favor rerolls and add Jado and Head of the King as your investment increases.

PoE 2 0.5.5 Forbidden Rites Event Ritual Farming: Best Tablet Setups for Omens and Favor Rerolls

Completing Ritual Atlas

Before committing to long-term Ritual farming, players should aim to unlock the relevant Atlas nodes. Ritual nodes are unlocked progressively through questlines involving Karn, while higher-tier nodes require progress against Pinnacle Bosses.

Once Atlas build is established, prioritize effects related to Favor rerolls and Tribute. More rerolls mean more reward refreshes, while higher Tribute gives you more room to obtain or defer valuable items.

For Ritual nodes offering multiple options, fully geared characters can prioritize branches that reduce Tribute penalty for reviving monsters. If your character lacks sufficient power, opt for safer choices initially and switch back once your damage and survivability improve.

In Patch 0.5.5, Tainted Ritual is a strong priority. It leans toward belt-type rewards, offering a chance to obtain high-value items like Mageblood or Headhunter - though this does not guarantee consistent drops.

You can also fill out Atlas nodes for Azmerian Spirits, Summoning Circles, and extra monster packs. These monsters can generate additional Tribute at Ritual Altars.

For the general Atlas, continue to bolster stats like Pack Size, Magic Monsters, Rare Monsters, and additional monster packs. A higher volume of monsters entering Ritual area results in more Tribute, thereby supporting more Favor rerolls.

Budget Tablet Configuration

For budget Ritual farming, start with two Rare Ritual Tablets that boost Omen chance and pair them with Freedom of Faith. This establishes the core loop without a large Path of Exile 2 currency investment.

In Patch 0.5.5, Omen chance modifier typically ranges from 35% to 70%; higher values are preferable. This configuration relies on a high Omen spawn rate to secure valuable rewards, while Freedom of Faith increases the number of Favor rerolls available.

You don't need to obsess over perfect secondary modifiers. Prioritize Omen chance, then fill in other slots based on price - such as Tribute gains, Magic/Rare monster spawn rates, or reduced Defer costs.

Additionally, check the remaining uses before choosing a Tablet, and prioritize ones with all 10 uses instead of looking only at modifier values.

High-Investment Tablet Setup

For high-investment Ritual farming in Forbidden Rites Event, you can swap the core modifier on your Rare Ritual Tablet to Ritual Altars in Maps Allow Rerolling Favours 1 - 3 Additional Times.

This modifier is rare, and +3 reroll Tablets usually cost much more than +1 Tablets. Keep Freedom of Faith, as it becomes more effective with a higher base reroll count.

In Patch 0.5.5, if there is a large price gap between +1 and +3 Tablets, you can pick up a +1 Tablet and use a PoE 2 Divine Orb to reroll the modifier, hoping to raise it to +2 or +3.

This offers a chance to acquire a high-value Tablet at a lower cost, though whether it is truly economical depends on the current market prices of Tablets and Divine Orbs.

For secondary modifiers, prioritize increased Tribute, higher Magic/Rare enemy spawn rates, or reduced Tribute costs for Deferring Favours. These all boost Ritual returns, but there is no need to pay an excessive premium just to chase perfect stats.

Further Optimization

Once your Tablet is set up for Forbidden Rites Event Ritual farming, you should also optimize your Waystones. Rituals rely heavily on the number of monsters in the map, making Pack Size one of the most important attributes.

Higher Pack Size results in more monsters appearing in Ritual area, thereby generating more Tribute. Once your character is sufficiently powerful, prioritize Waystones with higher Pack Size; however, if the map difficulty significantly slows down your clear speed, there is no need to force-stack modifiers.

Upon reaching the stable farming phase of Patch 0.5.5, you can incorporate Jado's Tablet enhancement. This grants Tablet's explicit modifiers 0% - 40% increased effect, benefiting stats like Omen chance, Tribute, and other key affixes.

It simply amplifies your existing Tablet modifiers, making it a useful addition once the rest of the setup is ready.

Late-Game Loop

For high-investment Ritual farming, you can incorporate Head of the King. This item can be obtained via trade or by defeating King in the Mists.

If you possess an Audience with King item, you can travel to the corresponding zone to locate King in the Mists and attempt to acquire Head of the King yourself.

Upon use, you can select a zone and view its additional effects. If the current zone's potential yield is mediocre, you can exit and search for a different zone.

Effects well-suited for Ritual farming include extra Favor rerolls, increased Tribute, additional monster packs, and modifiers that directly spawn high-value rewards.

Once the route is confirmed, you must complete the five maps selected for Rite of the Nameless in sequence. Each subsequent map stacks additional Ritual monsters and effects; after completing the full cycle, use a new Head of the King to begin the next loop.

If you are on a limited budget, a setup combining two Rare Ritual Tablets that boost Omen chance with Freedom of Faith creates a functional farming loop.

As your funds and character power increase, upgrade to Rare Tablets featuring 1 - 3 additional Favor rerolls, and gradually incorporate Jado and Head of the King.

Budget setups focus on Omen chance, while high-investment setups prioritize Favor rerolls. In either case, complete your Ritual Atlas first and scale Waystone difficulty to your build.

The key to Ritual farming in PoE 2 Patch 0.5.5 lies not merely in increasing the number of maps run, but in creating a cohesive synergy between Atlas, Tablets, Waystones, and late-game zone effects. Allocate your PoE currency wisely and choose between higher Omen chance and additional Favor rerolls based on your budget; this will make it easier to stabilize your farming loop.

Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.5 Forbidden Rites Event: This Infernalist Minion Army Build Is Absolutely Broken

Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.5 Forbidden Rites Event: This Infernalist Minion Army Build Is Absolutely Broken

Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.5 Forbidden Rites event created an extremely favorable environment for Witch minion builds, and among these builds, I believe Infernalist Minion Army Witch is the most powerful.

This is mainly due to its unique defensive cycle mechanism, which allows it to transform its resource system into a survival engine and flexibly command a diverse undead army.

Furthermore, its Ascendancy talents cleverly combine life, energy shields, and fire damage, addressing the traditional vulnerabilities of Witch builds.

This article will provide a detailed analysis of the advantages of Infernalist Minion Army Witch and how to build this build in PoE 2 Patch 0.5.5 Forbidden Rites event.

Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.5 Forbidden Rites Event: This Infernalist Minion Army Build Is Absolutely Broken

Infernalist Minion Army Witch Advantages

The core strength of this build stems from Infernalist's signature mechanic - Pyromantic Pact, which replaces Mana with Infernal Flame. While this sounds risky - reaching maximum Infernal Flame damage means taking damage equal to your maximum life plus Energy Shield - it's actually the key to this build's incredible resilience.

This self-damage triggers a regenerative survival loop. With the right belt modifier (Recoup Fire damage as Life), the damage from overflowing flames is directly converted into healing.

Since overflow damage is calculated based on your maximum life and Energy Shield value, stacking Energy Shield not only provides a buffer but also increases your healing output. This creates a seemingly counterintuitive yet extremely effective defensive mechanism: the higher Energy Shield, the higher the healing.

In addition to this defensive mechanism, this build offers several other advantages:

Flexible Minion Options

You're not limited to a single type of summon. You can effectively use Skeletal Snipers for ranged DPS, Skeletal Reavers for melee attacks, and even use Spectres like Bogfelled Commoner to build a tanky army of burning summons, adapting to the different content of PoE 2 Patch 0.5.5.

Strong League Starter

This build allows you to easily enter early maps and quickly farm monsters without spending a lot of PoE 2 currency on gear, making it an excellent choice for the new season's progression.

Passive and Effective Playstyle

Once your army is built, your task becomes relatively easy; simply focus on your positioning, and your minions will automatically deal damage.

Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.5 Forbidden Rites Event

How to Build This Build?

Passive Tree Priorities

The passive tree should focus on three aspects: increasing the number and damage of minions, improving your own survivability, and acquiring enough Spirits to summon an army. Let's discuss these in detail:

You should prioritize passive points that increase Skeletons cap and improve minion damage and health. To enhance your defense, prioritize passive points related to Energy Shield, as some of your health will be used to unleash your Infernal skill.

In addition, key talent points commonly used in this build include Mind Over Matter and Eldritch Battery, which complement Energy Shield. Then, remember not to neglect Spirit nodes in quests and gear, as more Spirit means you can summon a larger army.

Core Skills and Supports

In Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.5, your minion army will be supported by several key active skills. Elemental Weakness is crucial, as it weakens enemies before your summons attack; Frost Bomb can be used to apply Exposure effect, further increasing the damage output of your summons.

Summon Infernal Hound not only allows you to summon a permanent follower to assist in attacks but also absorbs a portion of the damage you take.

When configuring support skills, the goal is to maximize the survivability and damage output of your summons. For primary damage-dealing summons like Snipers, support gems that increase projectile count or elemental damage are excellent choices.

Essential Gear Slots and Ideal Modifiers

Weapon - Rattling Sceptre

In PoE Patch 0.5.5, the ideal scepter should have the affix +Level of all Minion Skills, making Rattling Sceptre the most important piece of gear for this build. You should also look for affixes that increase summon damage and as many Spirits as possible.

Amulet - Solar Amulet

Solar Amulet is the best base gear because it comes with Spirit affix, which can be used to maintain skills, summons, or effects that require Spirit. You can also add other affixes, such as those with +Level of all Minion Skills or additional Spirit.

Other Unique Items to Note

In PoE 2 Patch 0.5.5 Forbidden Rites event, some unique items can significantly enhance your Infernalist Minion Army Witch build. Bones of Ullr Lattice Sandals are excellent for maintaining Spirit's cost reduction, allowing you to summon more minions.

Trinchtimbre Spiked Club greatly increases summon skill levels, but it will occupy your off-hand slot. If you can obtain Ventor's Gamble Gold Ring with its good stats, that's also good, as it provides both Spirit and Resistance.

This concludes our analysis of the advantages and build methods for Infernalist Minion Army Witch build. For players who enjoy traditional summoner playstyles and seek fast map clearing and high boss damage, this build is one of the most attractive options in Patch 0.5.5 Forbidden Rites event.

When you're searching for equipment in the trading market or crafting it yourself, always remember that leveling up all Minion Skills is your primary goal. As the game progresses, your objective is to gradually upgrade each equipment slot to ensure your survival and keep your army fighting for you. Go try it now, and good luck!

Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.5 Ritual Farming: Why Does It Feel So Bad in Forbidden Rites?

Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.5 Ritual Farming: Why Does It Feel So Bad in Forbidden Rites?

Forbidden Rites event for Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.5 is now live, and Ritual has become a key part of the event's gameplay. Players can find a fixed Ritual altar in each zone, and during the campaign phase, these Rituals often offer powerful rare items.

By design, Ritual was intended to be a rewarding activity for long-term farming within Forbidden Rites event; however, the mechanic is currently plagued by a series of serious issues.

Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.5 Ritual Farming: Why Does It Feel So Bad in Forbidden Rites?

After several days of testing, we found that these problems not only impact POE 2 gameplay experience but also directly increase Tribute costs, making high-value Rituals in Patch 0.5.5 increasingly less worthwhile to farm.

Ritual Interface QoL

First, let's look at POE 2 QoL changes to Ritual interface. Previously, after completing the first Ritual in a map, you could immediately open Ritual menu to view current rewards and defer items that had already appeared. Patch 0.5.5 has altered this QoL mechanic.

Now, you must complete all six Rituals on the map before you can view the full list of Ritual rewards. Furthermore, even after completing every Ritual, you cannot simply open the menu from the interface at any time; instead, you must physically walk up to a Ritual altar to view them.

This has a significant impact on standard farming in Path of Exile 2. For instance, if you encountered a Mageblood or another high-value item during the first few Rituals, you used to be able to open Ritual interface immediately, defer the item, and then continue clearing the map.

In POE2 Forbidden Rites event, however, you are forced to complete the remaining Rituals before you can address the rewards. This change has left many players confused: why was Ritual interface, which previously worked so well, modified? The design was praised for its convenience in the last league, yet now it imposes unnecessary operational friction.

Tribute Information

Another issue arising from UI changes in Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.5 is that viewing tribute and Favor has become more cumbersome. Previously, you could open Ritual interface at any time to check your current tribute and favor totals and estimate the final tribute yield based on the remaining number of Rituals.

In POE 2 Forbidden Rites event, tribute is displayed only during Ritual combat itself and disappears once the battle ends. If you want to check your tribute count again, you must walk back to Ritual altar. For players farming Rituals - a process requiring frequent calculations of tribute expenditure - this clearly adds unnecessary friction to the gameplay.

Furthermore, there is currently a visual bug regarding POE2 Ritual tribute display. When interacting with items, you cannot see the correct tribute amount directly; instead, you must navigate to a different interface to check your current balance and then manually calculate the cost to defer the item.

If multiple high-value PoE2 currency appear simultaneously, the need to constantly cross-reference tribute totals and defer costs can impair your judgment and make the entire defer process tedious. I hope developers address this issue quickly via a hotfix.

Defer Mechanism

A more significant issue in Path of Exile 2 lies in defer mechanism. In Forbidden Rites, if an item appears and you choose to re-roll immediately instead of deferring it, defer cost may increase if the item reappears later.

For instance, an item in POE2 might initially cost 2,000 tribute to defer; after one defer, the cost might drop to 1,800. However, if you choose to re-roll during that round, the price could rise again when the item reappears.

Previously, you could re-roll first and decide whether to defer when the item showed up again. Now, however, failing to defer immediately might result in a higher tribute cost later.

This mechanism is particularly troublesome when multiple high-value Omens or rare POE 2 items appear in a single Ritual; if you want to keep the items you truly need, you are often forced to defer as many as possible.

This places further strain on your tribute resources. Deferring everything rapidly depletes your tribute, while choosing to re-roll risks increasing the cost of non-deferred items - or even wasting a re-roll opportunity.

Path of Exile 2 Defer Mechanism

When multiple high-value items appear in the same Ritual, these costs are further compounded. For instance, a Head of the King encounter in Path of Exile 2 offers 14 re-rolls and can feature two Purple Omen items simultaneously.

Assuming each deferral for an Omen costs roughly 1,500 tribute, preserving both Omens while exhausting all re-rolls could require a total expenditure of around 56,000 tribute.

While Head of the King should ideally be a high-value farming option because of its superior POE 2 currency and rewards, those better rewards come with a steep tribute cost. The situation becomes particularly problematic after losing 6 to 8 re-rolls during the process; what should be a highly efficient, high-tier Ritual encounter instead becomes unreliable.

An even more frustrating scenario arises when you are holding out for a Headhunter to appear, only to be forced to abandon a high-value item that has already shown up because you lack the necessary tribute.

Until these issues are fixed or adjusted, the farming value of Rituals in Path of Exile 2 is clearly declining. While high-value rewards still exist, the exorbitant tribute costs and the loss of re-rolls make dedicated Ritual farming in Patch 0.5.5 increasingly inefficient.

What Rituals truly needs now is a comprehensive mechanical overhaul; elements that are clearly bugs should be addressed immediately via hotfixes. For mechanics that POE 2 developers intentionally adjusted, the actual costs involved need to be re-evaluated.

If the deferral mechanism in Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.5 is indeed working as intended, the tribute costs should at least be lowered, or the system should be modified to avoid imposing additional deferral penalties when an item reappears after a re-roll.

PoE 2 0.5.5 Forbidden Rites Currency Guide: Abyss Farming and Budget Crafting for Broke Players

PoE 2 0.5.5 Forbidden Rites Currency Guide: Abyss Farming and Budget Crafting for Broke Players

At the start of the fresh economy in Path of Exile 2 0.5.5 Forbidden Rites, many players face immediate pressure regarding gear and funds after completing the campaign. Upon entering the endgame, character resistances and gear strength often lag behind, and players typically have only a few Exalted Orbs on hand.

The priority at this stage is establishing cash flow. Compared to high-investment endgame farming, low-cost Abyss farming is better suited for characters that have just finished the campaign.

A more practical strategy is to accumulate your initial currency through Abyss content, then use a small amount of Exalted Orbs to craft budget gloves and helmets, profiting from the fresh economy's demand for Life and Resistances.

PoE 2 0.5.5 Forbidden Rites Currency Guide: Abyss Farming and Budget Crafting for Broke Players

Start With Abyss After the Campaign

In PoE 2 Forbidden Rites, once the campaign ends, you can prioritize progressing toward Abyss content and unlocking Abyssal Points.

The biggest advantage of Abyss content at the league start is its low barrier to entry. Characters that have just finished the campaign don't need complex farming setups to gradually accumulate wealth through Abyssal Coffers, Rare Monsters, and special drops.

Profit sources extend beyond just PoE 2 Divine Orb; items like Omens, Desecrated currency, and Preserved Ribs also hold significant trade value during the early stages of a fresh economy.

Which Abyss Atlas Nodes Should You Take First?

For players just entering PoE 2 0.5.5 endgame, your Abyss Atlas strategy doesn't need to be overly complex; your primary goal is simply to increase the number of Abyss encounters.

Prioritize More Pits

Prioritize nodes that add extra pits - such as Abysses contain an additional pit and Dark Depths - followed by Abysses have a 25% chance to contain an additional Abyss.

More Abysses and pits mean more Rare Monsters, Coffers, and sellable loot.

Add Omen and Currency Nodes Next

Next, invest in nodes for Ancient Desecrated currency, Omen drop chances, and Balance of Power: Amanamu.

In Forbidden Rites fresh economy, Omens and Abyss-specific currency are often easier to liquidate quickly.

Don't Waste Early Currency on Expensive Tablets

It is not recommended to spend your hard-earned early currency on expensive Tablets right after finishing the campaign. Abyss content can be run at a low cost during the early game; your initial capital is better spent shoring up resistances, upgrading gear, or saving as seed money for future crafting projects.

If you specifically want to increase the number of Abysses, look for Tablets with  "Map has chance to contain four additional Abysses" modifier, prioritizing Tablets with 10 uses remaining.

Efficient use of early-game capital is more important than simply dumping currency into high-investment map setups.

Turn Abyss Currency Into Cheap Gear Crafts

Once Abyss content has helped you accumulate your first batch of Exalted Orbs in the fresh PoE 2 economy, you can pivot to a second strategy: low-cost Rare gear crafting.

At the start of a league, players lack Maximum Life and resistances (Fire, Cold, Lightning, and Chaos).

You don't need a perfect endgame item at this stage; a Rare piece offering Life and two or three useful resistances can already be a significant upgrade.

Consequently, practical gear costing only a few Exalted Orbs to craft can potentially sell for tens of Exalted Orbs, provided the stat combination is solid.

Gloves Are the Safest Starting Point

In the fresh economy of Patch 0.5.5, Life and resistances remain among the most immediate gear needs for players entering the endgame. For PoE 2 newcomers, gloves offer a reliable entry point.

When searching for base items, avoid Energy Shield bases; instead, look for cheap Magic bases that already possess one or two useful modifiers, focusing on:

  • Maximum Life
  • Elemental Resistances
  • Chaos Resistance
  • Attack Speed
  • Melee-related Mods

Don't chase high-value bases; prioritize low-cost, semi-finished bases that already feature useful stats.

Use Cheap Essences to Finish the Core Mods

If your gloves already have Life and one resistance, you can use a Greater Essence of Insulation, Grounding, or Thawing to add another useful resistance.

Chaos Resistance is also highly valuable if the price is right.

Once you reach this stage, the item will typically possess several genuinely useful modifiers.

Higher Budget: Use Preserved Rib

When you have a bit more capital, you can use Preserved Ribs (via Desecrate) to try and roll Attributes, Damage to Attacks, or other utility modifiers.

Path of Exile 2 Preserved Rib

Lower Budget: Just Use Exalted Orbs

If your budget is limited to just a few Path of Exile 2 Exalted Orbs, you can simply use an Exalted Orb to slam an extra modifier onto the item.

The core principle remains the same: avoid driving up costs in pursuit of a perfect craft; instead, aim for low-investment crafting to produce gear that the market actually wants to get.

Repeat the Method With Helmets

Helmets are also well-suited to this low-cost crafting strategy during the early stages of Forbidden Rites league.

Early in the league, helmets need the same stats - Life, Resistances, Attributes, and Rarity - and the base items are usually inexpensive.

Vaal Cheap Items for One Last Upside

If a finished item is only worth around 10 - 20 Exalted Orbs, consider using a PoE Vaal Orb for a final gamble to boost its potential value.

Useful Corruptions, extra sockets, or other practical modifiers can significantly increase the selling price.

Don't Hold Your Items Forever

Once the budget craft is complete, the most important step is to sell it quickly.

Prices for gear fluctuate rapidly in a fresh economy. A piece of resistance gear worth 50 Exalted Orbs today might face competition from a flood of similar items just a few days later.

If it doesn't sell on the first day, lower the price slightly the next day; once sold, immediately recoup your capital and move on to crafting the next batch of gear.

For this type of low-investment flip, turnover is more important than maximizing the profit margin. Making a slightly smaller profit is usually healthier than having your capital tied up in your stash for a long time.

For players who have just finished the campaign and have almost no starting capital in Forbidden Rites fresh economy, there is no need to rush into the most expensive farming setup right away.

Start by using Abyss mechanics to build up your initial capital, then craft affordable, practical gear focused on Life and Resistances. By controlling costs, selling quickly, and continuously reinvesting, you will find it much easier to secure your first Divine Orb and establish a stable flow of currency.
