Following the biggest update for ARC Raiders, Flashpoint, we've received a brand new patch, Patch Notes 1.23.0, and this update is quite interesting. It not only fixes some issues but also rotates some in-game content, adding new items to the shop.
This guide will walk you through the changes and additions in this ARC Raiders patch.
New Skins
First, let's look at the new Vanguard set. This set looks fantastic, with a total value of 2,200 coins, but if you already own Craftsman Backpack, you can get it for a discounted price of 1,600 coins.
This new skin comes in three colorways, with the midnight blue being perhaps the best-looking. Besides this, there are many details to adjust. The mask and shoulder armor can be worn and removed, and removing them makes a significant difference in appearance.
Secondly, Vanguard set has some nice details. It features a great chest pouch that can hold a lot of gear, and a Battle Teddy on the legs, which looks really cool. The official Scrappy also comes with a Vanguard helmet. Overall, the gear is quite comprehensive.
Vanguard set is already available in ARC Raiders store; interested players can get it now.
New Raider Tool Set
In addition to the new skin set mentioned above, there's also a uniquely designed ARC Raiders tool set. It looks a bit like a sledgehammer, originally priced at 1200 coins, but currently discounted to only 600 ARC Raiders coins, which sounds like a great deal.
This tool set also includes a weapon backpack accessory that can be stored in a weapon case. There's a small box at the bottom of the backpack containing a portable jammer backpack charm. It's a pretty good set overall.
Rocketeer Fix
The most notable change in ARC Raiders Patch Notes 1.23.0 is the official fix to Rocketeer's sound effects. Previously, it would incorrectly emit a combat alarm sound that wasn't audible before. Many players will be very happy with this fix; without it, it would be difficult to distinguish between Rocketeer's sound and being hit by a Vaporizer.
Gameplay Changes
Six gameplay fixes have been implemented:
- Two triggered grenades sometimes dealt triple damage when detonated adjacent to each other. I was unaware of this issue before, but it's now fixed.
- Fixed an issue where holding down the fire button and switching to an item would prevent the item from being used immediately.
- Fixed an issue where weapons and items would automatically fire. This was incredibly annoying; simply put, if you accidentally pressed the fire button during the reload animation after reloading, the weapon would automatically fire.
- Fixed a shoulder-switching issue that caused the camera to remain stuck on one side.
- Fixed a bug that allowed the use of Anvil Splitter without incurring a spread penalty. This was a very serious bug.
- Roadblocks can no longer be placed on ziplines.
These changes are significant for addressing bugs and other issues. Overall, in terms of gameplay changes, I think these are very positive. While the number of changes is small, I think ARC Raiders team has done a very good job in terms of the actual problems they fix.
Map Changes
Regarding maps, this patch fixes the following four issues:
- Fixed an issue where players could be set on fire outside locked rooms in Stella Montis medical research area.
- Fixed a bug in Stella Montis map where players could be shot through the floor; this bug was highly pseudo-random.
- Fixed an issue where some staircases were missing in Buried City.
- Fixed an issue where players could not interact with the code printer while a door was locked.
Close Scrutiny Changes
The following minor, less common issues have been fixed regarding Close Scrutiny:
- Adjusted the movement speed of Rocketeers and Vaporizers to prevent abnormal behavior when idle.
- Fixed an issue where reconnected players could not correctly see Assessor platforms.
- Fixed an issue where Vaporizers would get stuck when near Assessor.
- Fixed an issue where Assessor could not return to its orbit. This also fixed an issue where frequently using Breach & Search hint on Assessor could damage the platform, preventing it from returning to its orbit.
- Now, all ARCs summoned by Assessor will correctly leave the area and disappear if they remain stationary for an extended period.
- Sending requests to Assessor on the map screen now correctly reflects its actual location.
- Fixed an issue where players could get stuck when jumping from one platform to another during Assessor quest.
- Fixed an issue where Assessor and Probe could land in the same location in Buried City.
Other fixes
Besides the issues mentioned above, Patch Notes 1.23.0 also fixed some other minor issues, such as incorrect upgrade levels displayed in the weapon upgrade interface and a crash issue caused by certain visual effects.
Additionally, it fixed an issue that caused the helmet visor to become completely transparent. This issue mainly involved the player's visor becoming completely transparent, and the eyes turning completely black. There was absolutely no white on the eyes. This was a very random issue, but it greatly reduced the game's immersion, and I'm glad they fixed it.
This concludes this article about ARC Raiders Patch Notes 1.23.0. This patch update is quite minor, but I still have high expectations for future updates. I hope the developers will bring players even better content.
