Borderlands 4 is an action role-playing, first-person looter shooter game that will be released on September 12, 2025, on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. As for the new generation Nintendo Switch 2, the game is expected to be officially launched on October 3.
In Borderlands 4, players will take on the role of a Vault Hunter, leading their own resistance forces in a series of battles against the Timekeeper and his army of synth followers, searching for secret alien treasures in the process.
This first-person shooter-based game perfectly blends elements commonly found in action role-playing games, such as seamless exploration—no loading screens appear when players explore new areas. Furthermore, compared to its predecessor, Borderlands 4 introduces many new vehicles and mobility tools, such as the grappling hook.
