Higher initial shot damage translates to a higher base bleed value, making these two skills the first link in the damage chain.
Keen Mind: Since bleed is considered skill damage, skill critical strike chance becomes the core attribute for amplifying bleed output. Keen Mind provides a 15% skill critical strike chance, and with the additional 10% from Skillcraft Firmware, bleed effects have a one-in-four chance to crit, causing the damage over time to increase exponentially.
Bloodshot: This skill ostensibly deals additional bleed damage based on a percentage of current health, but its true value lies because bleed shots are considered skill damage. This means that when a player triggers Bloodshot with a Repkit, subsequent shots will gain skill damage tags, immediately stacking Skillcraft stacks and enjoying all skill damage bonuses.
Grave Fiends are a key dual-stack source in this build. The bleed damage is determined by the damage of the shot that triggers it, while Grave Fiends increase the damage of that trigger shot. More importantly, bleeding damage triggers a second bleeding effect, thus receiving the global bonus from Grave Fiends again.
Leeching Attunement and Essence Leech provide significant life steal, which is crucial for this build beyond just survival. The passive skill Blood is Power converts 300% of life steal or Kinetic Damage into additional Kinetic Damage, but this effect only applies while life steal is active. Therefore, players must always maintain life steal to sustain the full damage bonus.
This build has clearly optimal solutions in Borderlands 4 Items and Class Mods.
Piktun and Yuga Sniper Rifle: These two sniper rifles are the best-in-slot weapons for this build to one-shot bosses with bleeding. When the player charges, all bullets in Piktun magazine are fired simultaneously, instead of individually. This allows all bonuses to apply to every bullet at once, resulting in excessive initial damage.
Crow-Sourced: Pearl assault rifle, dropped by DLC's final boss, boasts both high base damage and a random shrapnel mechanic. Its charged shots fire random shrapnel that grant up to 200% independent damage, with each high-damage shrapnel triggering an independent bleed effect. Crucially, Crow-Sourced can equip Override mod, converting Bloodshot effect into Elemental damage, thus gaining elemental advantage while retaining Kinetic Damage - a very powerful feature.
Psion is an irreplaceable core of Bleed Witch. It can provide up to +5 skill levels to Bloodletter abilities. While Teen Witch can be used for clearing maps for higher life steal and survivability, Psions increased bleed multiplier is key to one-hit kills against bosses.
This build requires optimizing its effectiveness by changing skill Specializations to suit different scenarios.
For boss fights, Specialization skills should be selected as A Honed Mind, Best Defense, Contamination, I Am A Gun, and Honed Mind.
The core logic is: utilize Bloodshot in conjunction with a single shot activated by Repkit to instantly trigger Skillcraft stacking. Honed Mind provides additional skill critical hit damage, while Best Defenses offers survivability when frequent kills don't provide healing.
Contamination compensates for the extra bleed chance from multiple hits with Order weapons. The procedure is: activate Bloodshot with Repkit, then fire a charged shot with Order sniper rifle. All bullets hit simultaneously and benefit from Amp bonus, triggering multiple bleed stacks. Since Skillcraft stacks with each skill hit, the bleed damage will continuously climb to its peak over the next few seconds, killing the boss regardless of its health.
When dealing with large numbers of regular enemies, it's not necessary to rely on Repkit every time. Specialization skill has been adjusted to Riddle You This, Contamination, Now with Caffeine, and I Am A Gun. Riddle You This increase Gun Damage, and combined with Now with Caffeine, it significantly reduces the cooldown of active skills, making it almost always active.
For clearing maps, Crow-Sourced or G.M.R. are good choices, relying on high-frequency critical hits to trigger bleed, with no need to specifically use Order sniper rifle. Teen Witch Class Mod is more comfortable in this scenario because the higher life steal ensures that Blood is Power is always active, allowing for rapid recovery even from minor damage.
This Bleed Witch build in Borderlands 4 achieves a qualitative change in the bleed damage mechanism through skill point reallocation and synergy with Order weapons.
