In ARC Raiders, most players focus on shooting and looting, rarely delving into the secrets behind their gear. Some items hide mechanics unknown to many players.
Today, this article will explore some of the hidden mechanics of items in ARC Raiders. Mastering these can give you a competitive edge.
Noisemaker
You might think Noisemaker is useless. It's essentially a deployable proximity sensor that sounds an alarm when it detects an enemy attacker. Simply put, you deploy it, and when an attacker walks over it, the alarm goes off, alerting you to someone nearby.
But is that all it does? Not at all. It has another hidden mechanic: if you place Noisemaker next to a Deadline, it will block all damage from Deadline. This technique can help you avoid some damage in combat.
Pulse Mine
Pulse Mine is a deployable mine. Once placed, it knocks back all targets within its radius when other Raiders pass over it. However, what you might not know is that if you place Pulse Mine at a specific height and keep it in a falling state, you can avoid fall damage when you fall from a height.
The principle is that when you are hit, this animation negates the fall damage. However, this mechanism only works at a specific height. If you enter the freefall animation, you will take damage. But as long as you don't enter the freefall animation, you don't need to worry about this problem; using Pulse Mine will not cause you any damage.
Barricade Kit
Next, let's take a look at Barricade Kit, which, in my opinion, is one of the best items in ARC Raiders. It has many hidden mechanisms, enough to make it a top-tier item in the game. Specifically:
- Block ARC Turbine Attacks: Place a barricade a certain distance from ARC. Note that you should not be too close, and standing in the center of the deployed barricade will completely block damage from the curved turret.
- Repair by dismantling: When your barricade takes some damage, if you dismantle it, it will be restored to full value. Therefore, you can repeatedly dismantle and rebuild barricades in Raids to gain more advantages.
- Single-player entry into locked rooms: In Riven Tides Map, you can place barricades on specific platforms in warehouse and then climb up to open secret rooms that normally require two players.
- Launch Deadlines across the map: After hitting Barricade Kit 19 times (the 20th hit will destroy the barricade), place a Deadline next to the barricade and then hit it again. Deadline will be launched to the other side of the map.
- One-way door lock: In a specific location, placing Barricade Kit diagonally at a doorway will make the door open only from one side. Enemies can only enter by destroying barricade, which takes a long time. This device is perfect for locking down rooms, allowing you to maintain control even if you've entered a locked room.
- Launch barricades: Combining Barricade Kit with Synthetic Fuel launches barricades into the air, and you can even shoot them down mid-air, dealing damage to enemies within range.

Powered Descender
Next, we'll introduce a new item in ARC Raiders: Powered Descender. As everyone knows, it's incredibly useful in raids, reducing descent speed when used in the air. However, it also has some hidden mechanics, so let's take a look.
In Hurricane Raid, using Powered Descender while running with the wind grants a speed boost. Then, combining it with several ziplines allows you to traverse extremely long distances very quickly. If you're running against the wind, you can lower Ziplines to counteract its effects.
Furthermore, you can also combine Power Descender with Snap Hook and ziplines, a super fun way to traverse the map during hurricane raids.
In addition to its basic mechanics, Powered Descender has a rare feature that I've hardly ever seen anyone use, but it's incredibly useful for taking down large ARC enemies. I'll share it here: You can use a Snap Hook to hook onto the top of a Vaporizer or Rocketeer. Climbing up is very easy; you just need to be a little quick, positioned in front of them, and then kill them from above before safely landing with Powered Descender.
Overall, Powered Descender is extremely useful and can give you an advantage in Raids. If you don't already have Powered Descender, you can buy ARC Raiders Powered Descender Blueprint from EZG.com and combine it with other materials to craft this item. Here's the fastest and safest way to obtain it.
Gas Mine + Smoke Grenade
Did you know? Gas Mine + Smoke Grenade is a fantastic combination. Using them together illuminates the enemy's silhouette in smoke, making them easier to spot and shoot. The specific methods are: throw Smoke Grenade into the poison gas, or place a Gas Mine and detonate it in the smoke.
Surge Coil
Surge Coil can electrocute and destroy Trigger 'Nade' thrown above it, making it an effective countermeasure. For players still being killed by Trigger 'Nade, make sure you bring a Surge Coil during raids.
