How to Get Advanced Mechanical Components in ARC Raiders? | Best Farming Spots & Assorted Seeds Trading Guide

Cold Snap is becoming permanent in ARC Raiders, and your defense isn't enough. We break down the hidden methods to farm Advanced Mechanical Components and why Assorted Seeds are the secret to surviving the frost.

Feb 09, 2026 Author: EZG

Recently, the developers of ARC Raiders announced the return of the critically acclaimed Cold Snap as a permanent map modifier, much to the delight of many players. This gameplay style, which utilizes the natural environment to create a real threat to the character, is not uncommon in survival games, but none have been executed as well as those in Arc Raiders.

When Cold Snap appeared as a limited-time event, the consensus among players in the community was to maximize their character's defense and recovery capabilities. However, when making it permanent content, you may need to change your exploration strategy, shifting from simply focusing on defense to having a powerful and fast enough attack to effectively resist damage. How to Get Advanced Mechanical Components in ARC Raiders? | Best Farming Spots & Assorted Seeds Trading Guide

The first step in achieving this goal is to create or upgrade advanced weapons that require the use of Advanced Mechanical Components. Since this part is a very rare Refined Material in Arc Raiders and not easy to find, we provide you with the most specific crafting steps guide so that you can apply it directly to your weapon and reduce trouble.

About This Component

Advanced Mechanical Components, as the name suggests, are an upgraded version of Mechanical Components in the game. You need to use the original components and specific Arc Raiders Items as raw materials to create this upgraded version.

Although the developers describe Advanced Mechanical Components as being able to be used to craft advanced weapons or broken down into other crafting materials, it is recommended that you primarily use the former, because based on the current trend in the in-game Marketplace, recycling them will result in a loss of at least 810 game coins.

How to Obtain?

To get an Advanced Mechanical Component, you need 2 original Mechanical Components and 2 Steel Springs to create this component on a Level 2 Refiner. Of these two materials, Steel Springs are everywhere and not very difficult to collect, so the main challenge is finding more Mechanical Components.

The most common method is to loot them during each raid, but since the appearance probability and location of these Mechanical Components are completely random, you may need to take multiple adventures. Fortunately, some players in the community have discovered that there are 1-2 high-respawn points for Mechanical Components on each map, as detailed below:

Dam Battlegrounds

  • Water Treatment Control
  • Scrap Yard

Buried City

  • Parking Garage

Spaceport

  • Shipping Warehouse
  • Container Storage

The Blue Gate

  • Adorned Wreckage
  • Checkpoint

If you don't want to take high risks in a hail of bullets, try crafting them in your Refiner workshop. Each one requires 7 Metal Parts and 3 Rubber Parts, which can be found anywhere on the topside or obtained by recycling weapons, components, and other items.

According to incomplete statistics, the time taken to create Arc Raiders Advanced Mechanical Components by scavenging original components is roughly the same as the time taken to create the original components and then create the advanced version. Therefore, you can choose whichever suits your playstyle.

An Extra Method

In fact, while exploring the community and various social media platforms, EZG discovered another way to obtain Advanced Mechanical Components: trading between players using Assorted Seeds in the marketplace. This might surprise you: what's so special about seeds that they need to be exchanged for such advanced components?

Assorted Seeds are not particularly important as a secondary currency in ARC Raiders, but they are essential for advancing exploration by allowing players to exchange them for some very rare crafting materials at Celeste. The number of transactions has now exceeded 200, so if you want to use the seed to try your luck with Advanced Mechanical Components, you can give it a shot.

On average, a trade for Advanced Mechanical Components requires about 590 seeds, with a maximum of 1375. So where do you get all those Assorted Seeds needed for the trade? Just like with Mechanical Components, the most basic way is to scavenge; searching Seed Vault in Stella Montis map is highly recommended.ARC Raiders Assorted Seeds

This area is not only a well-known high-value loot spot, but also contains multiple containers holding five to ten seeds. It is recommended that you remove all equipment from your character when entering this map specifically to farm seeds, carrying only a Safe Pocket, which can hold 100 Assorted Seeds.

Once inside Seed Vault, use your Raider Tool to deal with Ticks, spider-like Arc enemies, that try to jump on you. After confirming it's safe, run to the container walls and search the containers for seeds and other materials. You can also try breaking the yellow rectangular containers to get more seeds.

If your only goal is the seed bank and you've already collected 140-160 Assorted Seeds, you can leave immediately. However, if you want to gain more experience, coins, and other gear for your character, you can search the backpacks or weapon crates near the treasure chests, where you might find what you need.

Finally, you can leave the raid directly from the evacuation well on the east side; this is the best way to evacuate from Stella Montis. Of course, you can also obtain some seeds by recycling natural items like apricots, lemons, and mushrooms, but this provides a small quantity and requires considerable time and effort.

In general, regardless of the method used, it's best to have 1-2 Advanced Mechanical Components before Cold Snap becomes a permanent map modifier in Arc Raiders on February 10th. Using them to craft powerful mid-game weapons like Renegade will allow you to completely ignore environmental hazards and have no worries about the future. Have fun playing!
