Stop Sleeping on Hullcracker! ARC Raiders Best Armor-Piercing Grenade Launcher: How to Get & Use It

This guide will introduce how to obtain and operate ARC Raider Hullcracker. Although it has been nerfed several times, it can still shine in the PvE battlefield if used correctly.

Mar 12, 2026 Author: EZG

In the early days of ARC Raider, Hullcracker was the ultimate weapon against ARC Enemies, easily handling medium to large Roberts like Bastion. However, as the game nerfed it, it became less impressive.

Now, let's revisit it. Is Hullcracker really that bad? Perhaps this guide will change your mind.Stop Sleeping on Hullcracker! ARC Raiders Best Armor-Piercing Grenade Launcher: How to Get & Use It

Overview

Hullcracker isn't a general-purpose DPS upgrade weapon; it's a highly specialized pump-action grenade launcher focused on precise bursts of fire, tearing armor, and seizing critical damage windows, rather than continuous spraying like rifles and shotguns.

Therefore, proper use is crucial. To be clear, it's not very effective in PvP combat, but in PvE squad battles, Hullcracker naturally plays the role of a shell-breaker. You can use it to soften or break armored areas, allowing teammates to use high-DPS weapons to secure victory.

If you're playing solo, you can also benefit from this, but positioning, cover utilization, and timing your disengagement during reload and recovery are crucial.

Attributes

Statistically, Hullcracker sacrifices rate of fire and magazine capacity for high single-shot damage and armor-interacting capabilities. Its damage output is primarily against armored and semi-armored targets, while its damage against unarmored ARC Enemies, though considerable, is inefficient.

Choosing this gun means you can no longer indiscriminately spray bullets. Firstly, its magazine capacity is insufficient, and secondly, its recoil is quite high, which you might not be able to withstand. Therefore, precise shooting is more effective, and only players who take every shot seriously can unleash its full power.

How to Obtain the Blueprint?

Hullcracker blueprint primarily drops from medium to large ARC Enemies, rather than simple drones. These enemies include Bastion, Sentinel, Hornet, etc. The chance of it dropping is very high if the enemy has segmented armor plates and advanced weapons.

Secondary acquisition methods are locked military containers and ARC Vaults in high-threat areas, which typically require a keycard or special circumstances to open. Industrial areas, collapsed urban areas, and deep ARC-controlled facilities have the highest drop rates. Therefore, this Blueprint will not appear on the initial map or in low-alert zones, regardless of your kill count.

Areas with frequent ARC Enemies or overlapping patrol routes increase the blueprint drop rate, as blueprint eligibility is tied to enemy level, not just loot quantity. If you feel a lot of pressure in an area, congratulations, you've come to the right place.

Crafting Requirements

To craft the basic Hullcracker, in addition to the blueprint, you'll need the following materials in Gunsmith 3:

  • 1 × Magnetic Accelerator
  • 3 × Heavy Gun Parts
  • 1 × Exodus Modules

If you want to improve its rate of fire and durability, upgrading it to Hullcracker IV is essential, which will require 5 Advanced Mechanical Components and 6 Heavy Gun Parts. Heavy Gun Parts form the structural framework of Hullcracker, allowing it to withstand intense recoil and armor-piercing rounds without breaking down after just a few engagements. This is why it remains accurate under sustained fire.

The most reliable sources of Heavy Gun Parts are Industrial Zones and ARC Enemies. You should also encounter them frequently if you've been traveling in hurricane conditions recently.Buy ARC Raiders items from EZG.com to quickly gather the materials you need

Magnetic Accelerator and Exodus Modules are epic items, almost exclusively obtainable from elite ARC Enemies like Queen, or by venturing into high-risk areas, making them extremely difficult to acquire. The easiest way is to use seeds and trade with other players or Celeste.

How to use them effectively?

Hullcracker's strength lies in armor penetration and structural destruction rather than sustained fire. Its effects ignore most ARC armor and mechanical resistances, making it an ideal weapon choice in PvE.

Therefore, armored ARC Enemies like Queen and Matriarch are the best targets for Hullcracker. Enemies with auto-targeting abilities, such as Fireball, Comet, and Hornet, are secondary targets; quickly eliminating them ensures your looting route remains uninterrupted.

Avoid using Hullcracker on fast-moving, low-health enemies like Ticks. Their danger lies primarily in their numbers and location, not their durability. Using this weapon against them is like using a cannon to kill a mosquito - a complete waste.

In combat, you can use it as an opening or closing move, but never as your primary weapon. It's very cumbersome and requires extremely high accuracy. After breaking through enemy defenses, immediately switch to your primary weapon and attack using exposed cores or gaps in armor penetration.

Hullcracker works best with medium-to-high stability rifles or submachine guns, such as Anvil and Ferro. These weapons can immediately inflict significant damage on the exposed weak points revealed by Hullcracker. If you don't have these two weapons, that's okay. You can choose weapons with stable recoil and fast switching speeds as substitutes.

Alternatively, you can use suppressive grenades in conjunction with Hullcracker. First, use grenades or shock tools to stun ARC Roberts, then use Hullcracker to penetrate his outer shell. Your teammates can then finish him off with two more shots.

If using Hullcracker correctly doesn't immediately improve your situation, don't blame it. It simply means your target selection or timing was flawed. Review the battle, adjust your strategy, and it will become your most reliable problem-solving tool. Give it a try!
