With Cold Snap event over, ARC Raiders players are undoubtedly eagerly anticipating next week's Toxic Swamp event and the upcoming new map! Based on the information available, the upcoming content is definitely worth looking forward to.
This issue will bring you a set of currently noteworthy information, including an analysis of ARC Raiders Update 1.12.0, map environment changes, key points from the developer interview, and practical combat tips.
Update 1.12.0
On January 20th, ARC Raiders released its latest Update 1.12.0. Although it only contains four brief points, it is packed with information.
This update aims to address several exploits and other routine bugs. Here are the patch notes:
Fixed an item duplication vulnerability.
Fixed an ammo duplication vulnerability.
Fixed a bug that allowed players to attack other players across terrain.
Fixed several locations on Stella Montis that extended beyond the map boundaries.
The core objective of this patch is very clear: to fix bugs related to map boundary crossings, wall hacks, and terrain exploitation.
However, it's important to note that although the update states that several boundary crossing and wall hack points on Stella Montis have been fixed, according to numerous player reports, many usable wall hack points still exist on Stella Montis, especially near Seed Vault. Furthermore, issues on other maps like Dam Battlegrounds remain largely unresolved.
This is essentially a patch that hasn't fully taken effect yet. The developers will probably patch vulnerabilities gradually with weekly minor updates. However, boundary crossing issues will probably continue to occur frequently in the short term, so please remain vigilant.
NPC Leaks Unreleased Skins
In the latest update, players discovered background NPCs in Sparanza wearing skins that haven't been officially released yet. Confirmed skins include a white and purple Bog Walker version, and two versions with a brown jacket and helmet.
Previous trailers also showcased Torpedo Set, Abyss Set, and Red Eye-themed skins. The release date for these new outfits and skins is currently unknown; we will notify you as soon as information becomes available.
Strange Phenomena at The Blue Gate
Many players have noticed that Titans and Barons, these six-legged giant ARC Enemies, no longer appear in the background of maps like The Blue Gate. Furthermore, on the southern side of the map, players can clearly see a huge black smoke column and faint explosion effects, clearly foreshadowing upcoming content.
Players speculate that this is either related to the upcoming Toxic Swamp event next week or a teaser for a new map theme.
A very interesting theory is that ARC Raiders universe is set in Italy, near Naples, which is the location of Mount Vesuvius in reality. This volcano historically destroyed Pompeii, so a volcano or high-temperature map is perfectly reasonable from a geographical, historical, and narrative perspective, validating our previous speculation.
Future of ARC Enemies?
Returning to these colossal ARC Enemies, in a recent interview, the design director of ARC Raiders discussed the future design vision for ARC Roberts. He pointed out that the future will not simply see the addition of yet another six-legged giant spider-type ARC Enemy; the focus will be on Variants.
Following his line of thought, for example, Bastion might no longer only have a machine gun version, but a variety of versions with different weapon configurations, different weak points, and different combat logic.
As for Queen and Matriarch-level colossal ARC Enemies, higher-tier versions may be developed, and they will not repeat the existing combat experience but will bring significant changes to the mechanics. We look forward to the future performance of these ARC Roberts.
Hidden Weaknesses of Queen/Matriarch
It's easy to imagine that Queen and Matriarch will be even harder to fight and more intelligent in the future. This guide will introduce hidden weaknesses in their structure, allowing you to effectively attack them both now and in the future.
Their attack mechanism is similar to Bastion/Bombarder. Yellow joints represent high-damage areas, and their outer armor can be gradually destroyed.
Therefore, a more effective strategy is to attack their leg joints, which are their high-damage weak points. Once they expose their gray joint armor, continue shooting until the armor wears down and holes appear. Finally, when they expose their yellow joints, unleash a devastating barrage.
This strategy is particularly effective against Queen, whose core is notoriously difficult to hit. For the even more difficult Matriarch, a suitable strategy is only part of the attack plan; you also need to occupy advantageous combat positions.
The unmarked antenna platform between Water Tower and Scrap Yard in Dam Battlegrounds is highly recommended. It offers a high vantage point and massive rock cover, effectively shielding against missile and Battleground fire. Multiple ziplines are also nearby for emergency escape.
Additionally, The Blue Gate's Headhouse is the simplest attack point against Matriarch. Its top is completely obscured, creating a blind spot, and multiple pillars provide cover and facilitate subsequent retreat. Overall, it's a very suitable area for cooperative multiplayer.
Matriarch's Reactor is a coveted loot for most raiders, so make sure to collect any parts dropped by Matriarch promptly to prevent others from stealing them.
That's all for this episode. We will continue to update with the latest news and guides for ARC Raiders so you don't miss any important information. Now enjoy your game!
