Blizzard officially launched Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred on April 28, 2026, bringing War Plans, the return of Horadric Cube, and a complete overhaul of endgame gameplay, while also updating the functions and attributes of many Unique Items.
This change has made some previously weaker classes highly sought after, especially Sorceress Class, whose core gameplay has undergone a significant transformation.
Among them, Fractured Winterglass, as the exclusive Unique Amulet for Sorceress Class, has gradually become a core item for specific builds, its importance rising alongside Sorceress Class itself.
Therefore, I will now detail the specific role of Fractured Winterglass in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred and how to efficiently farm it.
Specific Effects
After the release of Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred, Fractured Winterglass's effect was updated to: whenever a player uses a Sorceress Class core ability, there is a 25% chance to summon a minion with the same elemental attribute as the current ability.
Each active minion on the field provides the player with a series of buffs, including: increased damage by 3% to 6%, 1 mana regeneration per second, increased movement speed by 5%, and 3% damage reduction. Note that to activate this affix's bonus effect, the character must be level 73.
This significantly increases the damage of Sorceress Class. Because of this major overhaul of Fractured Winterglass's effect, Fractured Winterglass, which countless Sorceress players had been longing for, now has a more systematic farming method.
Astaroth Drop
The most basic and straightforward way to obtain Fractured Winterglass is by defeating the final boss of Nightmare Dungeons - Astaroth.
The higher the level of Nightmare Dungeons, the greater the difficulty, and the richer the loot, including Fractured Winterglass. However, in the past, obtaining it through the regular methods was extremely inefficient.
But now there's no need to worry too much. With Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred War Plans system, it has become the most cost-effective and targeted way to obtain Diablo 4 Fractured Winterglass.
You need to repeatedly farm Astaroth in Nightmare Dungeons. The more times you farm, the higher the drop rate of Fractured Winterglass. There are two key points you must add during this process: Recurring Nightmares and Branching Pathways.
Recurring Nightmares allows you to obtain new Escalation Sigils from bosses in Nightmare Dungeons, allowing you to farm Astaroth infinitely. Branching Pathways gives you three routes upon entering the dungeon; remember to choose Unique drop amplification route, which increases your chances of getting Fractured Winterglass from Astaroth.
Lord Zir
While War Plans make farming Astaroth for Fractured Winterglass in Nightmare Dungeons much easier than before, the drop rate for Astaroth mount remains very low, requiring repeated farming in Nightmare Dungeons, making it unsuitable as a primary method.
In contrast, the drop rate for Diablo 4 Fractured Winterglass is much higher by killing Lord Zir, as Lord Zir has his own exclusive loot list, and the equipment in this list will randomly appear in Lord Zir's Hoard, which only requires 1 Lair Key to open.
Therefore, when you're struggling to find core equipment for your Sorceress Class, killing Lord Zir is a more convenient method.
Defeat Belial
Besides obtaining Fractured Winterglass through the random drop rate of repeatedly defeating bosses in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred, is there a more direct and efficient method? Of course!
As the final boss of the lair, after defeating Belial, you need 2 Betrayer's Husks to open its exclusive Hoards. Opening the chest will bring up a special menu that allows you to manually select one of the exclusive loot lists from all bosses in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred to lock in your loot pool for this raid.
Simply select Lord Zir list here, and defeating Belial will grant the same drop rate as repeatedly defeating Lord Zir, providing a new high-level acquisition channel for Fractured Winterglass.
While this method is more efficient and direct, it's also more dangerous. Belial inflicts significant poison damage, so be sure to bring incense or potions that increase Poison Resistance before engaging.
Horadric Cube
For Sorceresses who haven't yet obtained key core equipment to enhance their strength, challenging the final boss is extremely risky. If you don't want to risk farming the boss, there's a safer method:using Diablo 4 Horadric Cubes for transformation or crafting.
In Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred, Horadric Cubes offer four main categories and 14 core functions, including Diablo 4 Items modification, equipment transformation and recycling, Talisman crafting, and Rune Gems crafting. Two of these functions are particularly crucial for farming Fractured Winterglass.
One method involves using an ancient-quality white amulet as a base and adding attributes one by one using the affix addition function. Combined with Tuning Prism, you can target specific affix categories, and newly acquired equipment has a chance to be directly converted into random Diablo 4 Unique Items, which may include Fractured Winterglass.
If you don't have enough white amulets, you can dismantle acquired blue or yellow amulets to remove magical affixes and restore them to white quality.
Another method is to put three low-quality Unique Items of the same type as Fractured Winterglass into Horadric Cube, which will randomly generate a new item. If the items put in are Ancestrals, the upgraded item will also be an Ancestral.
While the method of using Horadric Cube to convert or synthesize Fractured Winterglass is more random, it is safer than the method of constantly challenging bosses.
