With the release of Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred, new items, new systems, and new endgame gameplay herald a new beginning. This update has not only sparked heated discussions among veteran players but may also have attracted many new ones.

Whether you're a newcomer to the battlefield or a seasoned veteran seeking maximum efficiency, leveling remains one of the game's core challenges. With the increasing richness of endgame content, simply grinding dungeons is no longer the fastest option.

Mechanics such as War Plans, Horadric Cube, and Legion events intertwine to provide players with a clear and efficient leveling path. The answer lies in the clever coordination of these systems.

This article will break down the most practical leveling strategies to help you break through world tiers in the shortest time.Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred Leveling Guide - How War Plans, Horadric Cube & Legion Events Boost Your XP?

War Plans

War Plans is a new endgame system in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred that allows players to choose their preferred activities. Each time, there are three options; my suggestion is to choose the middle plan. Even after starting, you have the opportunity to change your plan by clicking on the new plan; everyone has three chances to change.

Different events offer different rewards, but they are generally divided into four tiers: small, medium, large, and grand amounts. They also provide experience points and even skill points, which you can use to customize your interaction with War Plans system and the rewards you earn during the event.

Basically, one War Plan can level you up 4-6 times. Continuing to complete War Plans will allow you to accumulate experience points and level up further. In some War Plans maps, you'll encounter Hell Worms that suddenly emerge from underground. Their attack method is to spew monsters from their mouths, usually maggots one level higher than Hell Worm. Maggots drop experience orbs when killed.

Therefore, you can utilize this mechanic to continuously force Hell Worm to spew maggots, then kill them to gain experience points. Because maggots spawn very frequently, you can level up quickly in a short time.

Secondly, when the last maggot is killed, Pains of Duriel will explode, with a chance to drop Boss Trophy items. If you want to collect a specific Boss Trophy item but don't have Lair Boss Keys or don't want to challenge Boss, then acquiring loot and Boss Trophy items through War Plans is a great option.

Each completed War Plan run will reward you with resources such as Marks of El'Druin, used to refresh routes. Simultaneously, the system will upgrade your command post level based on your progress, unlocking more complex plan tiers and rarer high-tier nodes, further enhancing the rewards.

War Chest

After Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred update, War Chests are one of the final rewards of War Plans endgame system. After completing all consecutive endgame events on Conquest Plans chart, you can claim a War Chest at the command post in Temis.

It is an additional loot pass for all independently acquired equipment, materials, and other loot obtained while killing monsters in each event, not a replacement.

As an extra reward after clearing a dungeon, War Chests not only significantly accelerate character leveling but also typically include a large amount of experience points, high-level Diablo 4 Items, various rare materials, and valuable resources such as Runewords, Sigils, Seals, and Charms. They are essential preparation for every wanderer conquering higher difficulty Torment levels.

Horadric Cube

In Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred, Horadric Cube is a crucial tool for enhancing character power. This system allows you to directly convert specific summoning or crafting materials into recipes and obtain a completely new item from their respective drop pools, which is extremely useful for players aiming to farm specific gear.

Furthermore, Horadric Cube can convert three identical legendary items or amulets into a single, regenerated version, ideal for players whose gear is already largely complete and who are seeking even better stats.

If you have a Horadric Cube, the loot you acquire in War Plans becomes much easier to manage. Items like Living Steel, Malignant Heart, and Pincushioned Dolls can be placed in Horadric Cube for conversion or fusion. There's a chance it will synthesize or convert an item from the boss's loot list, and you might even get Ancestral items, which are highly beneficial for increasing your leveling speed.

Legion Events

Legion Events are high intensity, time-limited cooperative endgame world events in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred. With their short duration and generous experience rewards, they have become one of the most popular sources of experience among players.

The event lasts approximately 10 to 15 minutes and refreshes every 25 to 30 minutes. During this time, players must cooperate to defend against multiple waves of enemies and defeat the final boss, Overlord.

Upon completion of the event, players receive a large amount of experience, Diablo 4 Gold, and Whispering Ancient Coins, among other basic rewards. Achieving full mastery of events - that is, defeating all three waves of enemies and Servant of Hell - can earn up to three Greater Radiant Chests, significantly increasing the drop rate of high-quality gear.

These chests not only have a chance to drop high-tier endgame gear like Ancestral Items, but also contain rare transmog appearances such as Legion events - exclusive mount armor and loot, unobtainable from regular dungeons or other world events.

For players newly entering World Tier 3 or 4 who need to quickly accumulate high combat level gear, Legion events are an excellent farming route that balances experience and loot.

Utilizing Legion event timers on the map and efficiently planning your refresh routes can significantly shorten the leveling time from Normal difficulty to endgame challenges, making it a key method for character leveling.

In short, leveling in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred isn't about brute force, but about the intelligent application of game mechanics. War Chests consolidate every reward you earn through hard work, Horadric Cubes convert surplus materials into targeted combat power boosts, and Legion Events deliver a high experience density, allowing you to reap substantial rewards within ten minutes.

These three elements complement each other, forming the most robust upgrade loop in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred. Remember, every event refresh, every Horadric Cube conversion, and every chest opening is a solid step towards Ancestral Items and character advancement.
