Diablo 4 Season 12 PTR 2.6.0 Release Date, Killstreak System, Bloodied Mechanics and More

Diablo 4 Season 12 is expected to launch around April, but before that, we will first receive the 2.6.0 PTR, which will give us a preview of Season 12 content and gather player feedback. This season introduces features such as the Killstreak System and Bloodied Items.

Jan 30, 2026 Author: EZG

Dear Diablo 4 players, I have some great news to share! Diablo 4 2.6.0 Public Test Realm is coming soon, running from February 3rd to February 10th, 2026, allowing players to experience the core systems of Season 12 ahead of time.

Season 12 aims to provide a streamlined and efficient transition platform for the upcoming major expansion, Lord of Hatred, launching on April 28th.

Diablo 4 Season 12 PTR 2.6.0 Release Date, Killstreak System, Bloodied Mechanics and More

This Season 12 creates a tightly integrated combat loop, centered around momentum, aggression, and risk-reward mechanics, and is expected to change how players farm monsters and engage with endgame content.

Without further ado, let's take a look at what new content Diablo 4 2.6.0 PTR brings!

Killstreak System

Killstreaks are one of the most beloved aspects of Diablo 3, but they will officially return as a core mechanic in Season 12, fundamentally changing the nature of the game.

D4 no longer simply lets you kill monsters at your own pace; it encourages sustained attacks.

When you quickly and consecutively kill enemies, Killstreak meter begins recording your performance. If you hesitate for too long, the meter decays, and your killstreak ends.

Killstreak progress through five tiers:

  • Killstreak
  • Carnage
  • Devastation
  • Bloodbath
  • Massacre

The higher your killstreak tier, the greater the rewards. Killstreak System is triggered by quickly killing enemies in combat. You can maintain your killstreak by:

  • Killing more enemies;
  • Dealing direct damage;
  • Applying damage over time effects.

When you trigger Killstreak System, a countdown will appear. When the countdown ends, killstreak ends. After ending, you will receive bonus experience and seasonal reputation (not currently available on PTR) as encouragement.

Therefore, in Season 12, the developers encourage players to build their characters around speed, sustainability, and monster-clearing efficiency.

Bloodied Items

In Season 12, the studio introduced a new Diablo 4 item quality: Bloodied Items, whose attributes dynamically increase based on your killstreak performance.

Unlike traditional equipment with fixed attributes, Bloodied Items become stronger as your skill level improves.

Any Diablo 4 item can potentially gain Bloodied attribute, including:

  • Normal
  • Sacred
  • Ancestral

Furthermore, Bloodied attribute is not exclusive and can stack with other item qualities. Here are three Bloodied Affixes:

  • Rampage (Armor): Grants a strength boost based on your current killstreak rank;
  • Feast (Weapons): Increases combat bonuses based on your total killstreak;
  • Hunger (Jewelry): Randomly drops rewards based on your killstreak rank.

These affixes directly link combat performance to loot quality, a first in Diablo series.

Bloodied Sigils

Bloodied Sigils will be special endgame keys that unlock Extreme Challenge mode. Once you reach Torment I, you can acquire these Sigils from the following sources:

  • Nightmare Dungeons
  • Infernal Hordes
  • Lair Bosses

Once these Bloodied Sigils are activated, you will be permanently hunted by Relentless Butchers, which will spawn infinitely and stack with naturally spawning Butchers.

While this challenge is not easy, the rewards are substantial. In addition to the usual rewards, it guarantees drops of Bloodied Items, making farming Bloodied Sigils a crucial method for obtaining Bloodied Items in the future.

New Unique Items

Season 12 introduces several new Unique Items that perfectly complement high-damage and killstreak builds.

Blood-Mad Idol (Amulet - All Classes)

Equipping this will keep you in Berserking, but you will take massive burning damage. While burning, Berserking provides a huge amount of additional damage.

This item comes with a high risk-reward ratio. It boasts extremely high DPS, but is incredibly dangerous if you lack sustain.

Wendigo Brand (Ring - All Classes)

Gain stacking damage and maximum health for every 15 enemies killed in combat.

This item is practically tailor-made for killstreak builds, and its effectiveness is even more pronounced in densely packed monster dungeons, making it perfect for clearing maps.

Rustbitten Dirk (Dagger)

  • Suitable for: Sorcerer, Druid, Rogue, Necromancer

Deals massive extra damage to lone enemies, making it ideal for challenging bosses.

Wyrdskin (Gloves - All Classes)

Applies both Vulnerable and Weakened effects to enemies at varying distances simultaneously. If both are active at the same time, it increases damage.

Provides a powerful debuff in team battles.

Thousand-Eye Reaver (Axe)

  • Suitable for: Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Paladin

Stacks Ferocity as you move, increasing damage and movement speed. This unique piece perfectly embodies Season 12 design philosophy: Never stop moving. Never stop killing.

Class adjustments

In addition to the new content introduced in PTR, the developers have also adjusted some existing classes.

Paladin

The biggest change is to Paladin. Not only have their skills been updated, but all issues with Skill Tree have been fixed. This may not be good news for Paladin players.

Because Paladin demonstrated amazing strength in Season 11, which affected the game's class balance to some extent, it's very likely that the developers will slightly nerf them in Season 12.

Spiritborn

Then there's Spiritborn. Overall, Spiritborn should be buffed in Season 12. Not only has additional damage and poison damage been added, but Drive Legendary Node has also been adjusted, increasing the maximum stack count. Perhaps Spiritborn will be a dark horse in Season 12; let's wait and see.

In addition, the following classes have received minor buffs:

  • Barbarian
  • Druid
  • Necromancer
  • Rogue
  • Sorcerer

The official aim of these subtle adjustments is to balance the strength of each class, avoiding situations where some are too powerful and others too weak, and hoping to provide players with a variety of characters to choose from.

That concludes all for Diablo 4 2.6.0 PTR. Season 12 revolves around Killstreak System and is expected to be very exciting. Don't forget to log in and experience it early!
