In reality, however, Monk's potential return depends on Spiritborn. Spiritborn already features high-mobility melee combat, rapid repositioning, and numerous skills centered on spirit energy - gameplay elements that closely resemble Monk's style.

Furthermore, Spiritborn's tribal and spirit-based themes overlap with design elements previously associated with both Monk and Witch Doctor.

If Blizzard were to simply port D3 Monk directly into the game, the two classes would likely suffer from overlapping roles.

That said, Monk could still return if it undergoes a significant overhaul. This might involve emphasizing fist weapons, rapid-fire strikes, and defensive counters, while establishing a new resource loop based on D4 items - effectively refocusing the class on its core martial arts identity.

Amazon

Amazon faces fewer hurdles than Monk.

Diablo 4's Rogue already covers bow combat, agile movement, and certain ranged damage playstyles; consequently, a traditional Bow Amazon would easily overlap with the existing Rogue class. However, Amazon's identity isn't defined solely by the bow and arrow.

Javelin, Spear, and Lightning-based Amazon builds can still form a distinct class identity. This is particularly relevant given that Diablo 4 currently lacks a class with a gameplay system fully centered on spears, javelins, thrown weapons, and their associated Diablo 4 items.

This actually creates an opening for Amazon. If the developers decide to bring back this classic class, the most logical approach wouldn't be to create another ranged archer; instead, they could emphasize spear charges, javelin throws, spreading lightning attacks, and precise mid-range strikes.

This strategy would preserve Amazon archetype familiar to D2 players while clearly avoiding the gameplay territory already covered by Rogue.

Witch Doctor

Witch Doctor is another highly distinctive class of Diablo 3. Its unique combat style - defined by poisons, pets, summons, and eerie spells - stands out, yet this design feels a bit crowded within the current Diablo 4 landscape.

Necromancer already possess a mature summoning system and command corpses, curses, and a vast array of dark magic, while Spiritborn covers elements like spirits, nature, and tribal culture. Consequently, no matter which direction Witch Doctor takes, it risks overlapping with existing classes.

Therefore, rather than a direct recreation of D3 Witch Doctor, the developers are more likely to deconstruct its defining features - such as poison spells, curses, totems, or unique summoning mechanics - and recombine them into a distinct new class.

Blood Knight

If the developers choose not to look to D2 or D3 for inspiration, a Blood Knight-style class becomes an interesting option.

Blood Knight archetype has already been utilized in Diablo Immortal, and since Diablo 4 already features numerous vampire enemies, blood-based abilities, and dark religious themes, such a design would fit seamlessly into the world of Sanctuary.

More importantly, it is easy to establish a combat style for Blood Knight that differs significantly from the current classes.

Its gameplay could revolve around mechanics like health consumption, life-stealing, sustained regeneration, blood-based skills, and short-term transformations. It could utilize two-handed weapons or polearms, with D4 unique items further enhancing a high-risk, high-recovery melee combat loop. 

While Barbarian emphasizes strength, weaponry, and direct strikes, and Necromancer leans into death, corpses, and summoning, Blood Knight could center its mechanics on a cycle of trading health for damage and then reclaiming that health through combat.

If the developers can craft mechanics that are sufficiently distinct, this class has the potential to stand apart from the existing roster.

Shaman, Dark Knight, and Spellsword

Of course, the new class for Expansion 3 does not necessarily have to come from Diablo's past roster.

Spiritborn has demonstrated the developers' willingness to create entirely new class concepts for Diablo 4, making completely original designs a distinct possibility for the future.

For instance, a Shaman class could be built around totems, elemental spells, and short-duration summons, further distinguishing itself from Druid's shapeshifting and nature magic.

A Dark Knight could wield greatswords and heavy armor, emphasizing blocking, charged attacks, or high-risk melee combat to create a heavy-hitting playstyle that is more stable and rhythm-focused than that of Barbarian.

There is also significant potential for a Spellsword. Currently, Sorcerer relies primarily on pure spellcasting, leaving a gap for a class that truly blends large melee weapons with magic. Enchanted weaponry, elemental slashes, defensive spells, and close-range spellcasting could all serve as core elements of such a class.

More daring directions cannot be ruled out either; after all, Spiritborn proved that Blizzard is willing to push the boundaries of Diablo class design, so Expansion 3 need not look to the past for answers.

As D4 roster grows, it becomes increasingly important for the new class in Expansion 3 to avoid overlapping with existing playstyles.

Whether the choice falls on a classic class like Amazon or a new concept like Blood Knight or Shaman, the key lies in delivering a combat experience that is genuinely missing from the current lineup. Diablo IV: What's Next will be held on the main stage around 8 PM on Sunday, September 13th, lasting 45 minutes. Generally, Blizzard adding future prospects to a game's title quickly generates high player anticipation, and this time is likely no exception.

In addition, there will be other Diablo 4-related segments. Saturday will feature Art of Darkness: Behind Diablo IV's Cinematics, and Sunday will host a Battle.net 30th anniversary keynote, with CD Projekt Red as a special guest.

Season 15 Confirmed Content

Soul Splinters

This meant that August PTR test server didn't contain the complete season content. Players experienced Soul Splinters, Legacy Uniques, Mythic and Unique Charms, Rebirth, Challenge Dungeons, and several underlying systems, but some of the actual season content remained hidden behind the scenes at BlizzCon.

Normally, we see the full roadmap months in advance, including patch notes and detailed information about PTR test server. So why break with tradition this time?

By keeping the details under wraps, they not only successfully fueled the enthusiasm of the player community but also bought themselves ample time to develop the game. PTR test server showcased a glimpse of Season 15, but Blizzard is clearly saving the best for BlizzCon.

This is a carefully crafted strategy - giving core players ample time to test and provide feedback on core mechanics, while reserving the most visually stunning content for the highly anticipated event.

Getting Time for Polishing

Furthermore, there are practical considerations. Feedback on Soul Splinters on PTR was mixed; some players felt the resource penalty was too high, while others thought the balance was perfect.

By delaying the release of flashy content, Blizzard can focus on refining core mechanics based on player data, while reserving the most compelling content for the event with the largest audience.

Learning From Past Mistakes

Frankly, Blizzard has experienced some setbacks in content releases in the past. Over-promising and failing to deliver has cost them dearly. This time, they've acted more wisely.

Could Switch 2 Finally Appear?

This remains a hot topic. Despite increasing speculation about a September release, Blizzard has yet to officially announce that D4 will be coming to Switch 2.

If they do intend to, I think Diablo IV: What's Next event would be the perfect opportunity to announce Switch 2 news.

Comparing the distance differences between the western continent and the existing continents, the changes between the early Sanctuary map and the final map, and the final geography used in Diablo 4, we can draw a clear conclusion: Blizzard has modified the layout of certain areas on the map during development.

This means that the leaked images may represent an in-game version of the world, rather than the final map.

Blizzard may be planning to release a portion of Westmarch region first, with future expansions or updates potentially unlocking only certain areas rather than releasing all content at once.

Could Westmarch Become the Next Major Region?

With Diablo 4 Season 15 just around the corner, if you're planning to continue playing Rogue, GOD Rogue is one of the most noteworthy endgame builds to watch. This build was already well-established in S14, similar in concept to GoD Demon Hunter build in Diablo 3.

In S15, the newly added Soul Splinters and Leoric's Crown further enhance this build with Crit Chance, Attack Speed, Damage, and damage reduction, raising its potential even higher.

However, the final patch notes haven't been released yet, and some values ​​and combinations from PTR are still subject to adjustment. Its actual performance after release needs further observation.

Why GOD Rogue Works?

In Season 15, GOD Rogue allows players to continuously deal damage while moving. Dance of Knives keeps Rogue spinning forward, and Heartseeker triggers continuously during this process, so you rarely need to stop to deal with enemies while clearing maps.

Once fully developed, this build is more suitable for speed farming and everyday endgame play. Some maps can be pushed down to around 90 seconds per round, and Torment 12 Bosses can be dealt with quickly.

However, it's not the strongest push option for Rogue; it's currently better suited for efficient map clearing, with a Pit cap of approximately 130-145.

But GOD Rogue isn't suitable for immediate progression, as the core rotation relies on the set bonus of 5-Piece Bonus. A more practical approach is to use the regular Dance of Knives Rogue in the early stages of D4, gradually completing the set bonus around Torment 6-9, and then switching to the full GOD Rogue.

With the set bonus active, Marksman Skills gain increased damage, and the most recently used Marksman Basic Skill is additionally triggered when a Marksman Skill is used. Therefore, Dance of Knives can continuously generate Heartseeker during rotations, allowing Heartseeker to bear the main damage output.

Season 14's adjustments to Heartseeker also make this rotation more stable. Previously, automatic triggering required a specific target; now, even without locking onto an enemy, it can automatically fire in all directions, which is why GOD Rogue can continuously fire while spinning.

Gear and Setup

Paingorger's Gauntlets are well-suited for this build. Heartseeker is a Basic Attack, while Dance of Knives isn't a Basic Skill, so Paingorger's Gauntlets' effect is triggered during rotation, improving both map clearing and single-target damage.

Gladiator's Triumph guarantees a Critical Strike on the first direct damage dealt to an enemy, while its Marksman interaction provides another substantial damage multiplier. This D4 item makes opening hits more consistent during map clearing and improves overall damage.

Etna's Lost Dagger is more of a necessity. While a regular Basic Attack doesn't directly grant Imbuement, Etna's Lost Dagger allows Heartseeker to benefit from its effects.

The build already gains Cold Damage through Cold Imbuement, so you only need to add another Non-Physical Damage, such as Lightning, Poison, or Shadow, to meet the damage increase requirements.

The easiest way is to add a second element to Weapon Temper or Charm Mod.

Some Diablo 4 Season 15 items will cause each Heartseeker attack to consume approximately 25 Resources.

Lucky Hit Chance ring can largely solve this problem, as this build has a relatively high Lucky Hit Chance, ensuring continuous resource regeneration as long as there are enemies nearby.

Inner Sight typically triggers every 4-5 seconds, providing approximately 4 seconds of Infinite Resource after refilling resources.

In most cases, one Restore Resource Temper is sufficient; a second one is only needed when resources are frequently depleted during combat.

Season 15's Leoric's Crown can further enhance this setup. Since the helm counts as Jewelry, it can effectively provide another slot for Soul Splinters while also increasing the effect of the socketed gem.

On PTR, usable Soul Splinters include Anguish, Hellfire, and Pain, which supplement Crit Chance, Attack Speed, Damage, and Damage Reduction. This combination offers high stats, but adjustments are possible before its release on the live D4 servers.

Scoundrel's Kiss makes Ferocity a major damage multiplier for GOD Rogue, increasing Marksman Skill damage for each stack. With Ferocious Aspect, Ferocity cap can be increased from 4 stacks to approximately 16 stacks. Mythic also grants nearly 20% Damage per stack, resulting in significant benefits when fully stacked.

The corresponding Ferocity Aspect is best placed on a Two-Handed Weapon, and a high roll is preferable.

Other Diablo 4 Offensive Aspects can utilize High Velocity, Moonrise, and Biting Cold; for defense, Might and Debilitating Toxins are good choices, with the latter providing approximately 30% Damage Reduction.

Stat Priority And Skills

The attribute priority for this build can be in the following order: Crit Chance > Crit Damage / Vulnerable Damage > Survivability

It's recommended to keep Crit Chance on the town panel around 50%-70%, so that in Diablo 4 S15, players can gain additional Crit from Heartseeker, Dark Shroud, Concealment, and Inner Sight after entering combat.

Armor, Maximum Life, all resistance, individual resistance, movement speed, and cooldown reduction also need to be improved. maximum life on weapons has a significant impact on survivability, so consider prioritizing Masterwork.

Heartseeker is the primary damage source and should be maxed out first; Dance of Knives is mainly for movement and triggering, usually 1 point is enough.

Using Dash several times consecutively at the start of the fight can stack Ferocity faster.

Dark Shroud and Concealment are used to replenish defense, Crit, Resolve, and Ferocity.

Cold Imbuement is recommended to be raised to Rank 15+, and kept as active as possible with Cooldown Reduction, especially important in boss fights.

Paragon

Paragon can be configured around Start/Devious, Cheap Shot/Combat, Eldritch Bounty/Control, Exploit Weakness/Fluidity, and Danse Macabre/Canny.

In S15, GOD Rogue deals more damage to Crowd Controlled enemies, and DPS will further increase after the boss enters Stagger.

How to Play?

D4 players can start by continuously using Dash to gain Ferocity and maintain Cold Imbuement. Then, hold down Dance of Knives while moving, using Heartseeker approximately every second to refresh the set buff.

When clearing regular mobs, Heartseeker can be refreshed every few seconds; against bosses, try to maintain a rhythm close to once per second. Additionally, use Dash, Shadow Step, or Concealment approximately every 10 seconds to maintain Dance Macabre.

GOD Rogue offers fast map clearing, high mobility, and decent boss damage and survivability. Once you reach the later stages of Season 15 Torment and acquire all the key gear, you can switch from Dance of Knives to this build.

If you're looking for a Warlock build that's usable after Diablo 4 Season 15 launches and can easily level up from the early game to T12 difficulty, then Fiend of Abaddon build is definitely worth considering.

The main advantage of this build is that once you acquire the core Diablo 4 items, the gameplay becomes incredibly simple, requiring minimal skill switching.

However, this also means that the build's full potential isn't realized at level 1, so resource allocation and manual skill activation are necessary during the early stages of the new season.

Warlock in Season 15

Warlock will undoubtedly be one of the strongest early-game builds for Diablo 4 Season 15, as Patch 3.2.0 PTR announcement indicates that Warlock will significantly benefit from the new season's Hellfire mechanics and Demonic Gems. Fiend of Abaddon build leverages these mechanics.

Its main advantage lies in its efficient leveling experience. Players can start with a more aggressive upgrade setup and gradually transition to an Abaddon-riding playstyle without replacing all parts of the build.

Mechanics

Fiend of Abaddon is the primary damage source for this build. After summoning Abaddon, Warlock can ride the demon across the battlefield, while other teammates assist with damage output and maintaining skill duration.

Once the gear and Paragon levels reach the endgame requirements, your battlefield flow is essentially: Summon Abaddon → Mount → Move through enemies.

However, this doesn't mean all combat is hands-free. Players still need to react based on elite affixes, hazard mechanics, skill cooldowns, and positioning.

Hellhound's Sabatons

Hellhound's Sabatons are the most important gear objective for this build early in the game.

On the current Diablo 4 Season 15 PTR, these boots interact with the gear's Fire Skills, helping to automate parts of the character's rotation. This significantly reduces the number of skills the player needs to manually cast, making the gameplay more stable.

It's important to note that players need to be prepared for more frequent skill rotations before acquiring Hellhound's Sabatons.

This is because Abaddon's sustained damage output may require additional support from the skill tree or Paragon Board. After equipping Hellhound's Sabatons, these points can be redistributed based on the final gear stats and balance values, focusing on damage, defense, or resource management.

Leveling With Fiend of Abaddon

During the character leveling phase, the focus should be on reliable resource acquisition and sustained damage output, rather than simply maximizing maximum DPS.

Command Fallen can serve as a basic resource acquisition tool in the early stages of Diablo 4 Season 15. Combining it with Bombardment, Blazing Scream, Dark Prison, and Fiend of Abaddon will meet the damage, support, and resource needs for early map clearing, accumulating Diablo 4 gold and items needed for later upgrades.

Specific skill configurations may be adjusted upon the official launch of the new season, but the overall priority should follow this principle:

• Use Command Fallen to support resource generation;
• Cast Bombardment to gain additional damage and soul generation;
• Use Blazing Scream as the core damage skill for Infernal;
• Add Dark Prison to provide support and supplementary damage;
• Use Fiend of Abaddon as the primary damage source;

During this period, players should avoid wasting resources without a plan. The effects of certain Demonic Gems may require a trade-off between higher damage and higher damage taken, and high-cost skills may prevent characters from maintaining their skill rotation.

Demonic Gems and Soul Mechanic
