Fix the Drop Rates! Breaking Down Diablo 4's Broken Mythic Seals and Loot Filter Issues

Diablo 4 Season 14 brought significant changes, but players have also expressed concerns about excessive leveling difficulty, class balance issues and other aspects of the gameplay experience. Before the season officially launches, the developers must make some improvements.

Jun 11, 2026 Author: EZG

For most players, the fun of Diablo 4 comes not only from pushing higher difficulty levels in endgame but also from the process of leveling up a character from scratch. However, Season 14 still has many problems in terms of gear acquisition, class balance, and ease of use, leading to frequent frustration for many players during leveling.

The lack of clear goals for character progression, the disparity in class strength affecting the early game experience, and the numerous tedious item management and repetitive operations are constantly eroding player enthusiasm. These issues affecting the stable growth of characters during leveling require timely improvements from the developers.

Fix the Drop Rates! Breaking Down Diablo 4's Broken Mythic Seals and Loot Filter Issues

Below, we will analyze the major problems in Diablo 4 Season 14 and their impact on character leveling and the player experience.

Uniques Rework

The new Uniques system has exposed many problems that significantly affect your leveling experience. In Diablo 4 Season 14, all unique items can be upgraded to Mythic quality, meaning that once their stats are fully maxed out, their effects will increase by an additional 30%.

However, the problem with this design is that the benefits gained from the 30% bonus vary greatly among different unique items. Some gear offers significant upgrades, while others show almost no change. Most importantly, Uniques Rework dilutes the value of true Mythic gear to some extent.

Meanwhile, with the expansion of Mythic items pool in Diablo 4 Season 14, obtaining specific Mythic gear has become significantly more difficult. While the current season mechanics allow players to convert unique items into Mythic Uniques using Horadric Cubes, allowing you to convert unwanted gear, the conversion process is completely random.

If you put a pair of unique boots into a cube, you might even end up with a Mythic chest piece, changing not only the gear type but also resetting all attributes and affixes. This randomness frustrates many Diablo 4 players, as it feels more like gambling than leveling up.

In contrast, many players prefer Diablo 3 leveling system, where existing gear directly develops into its corresponding Mythic version, creating a more natural progression path.

Furthermore, unique items themselves are gradually losing their individuality. With Horadric Cube allowing for extensive re-rolling of attributes, the line between unique and legendary items is becoming increasingly blurred. Many Diablo 4 unique items were popular not only for their legendary effects but also for their unique and fixed attributes.

Now that these unique attributes have been removed, the gear has practically become worthless. EZG hopes that Diablo 4 will reinstate fixed attributes for unique items, giving them a truly unique purpose.

Mythic Seals

Compared to Uniques, Diablo 4 Season 14 Mythic Seals system received relatively positive feedback. However, the problem of extremely low drop rates remains. Many players didn't obtain a single Mythic Seal throughout the entire season's leveling process, and even high-level players who invested hundreds of hours often only obtained single-digit numbers.

Considering that Mythic Seals also have many random attributes, such a rare drop rate clearly cannot support players' gear pursuit in leveling and build development in Diablo 4. I hope Diablo 4 developers can provide us with more ways to obtain them.

War Plans

While War Plans received improvements in Season 14, progress sharing between Diablo 4 characters remains unavailable. This is a significant problem for players leveling alts.

New characters can often quickly reach challenging difficulty levels, but with War Plans, progress must be built from scratch. Many players believe that character sharing and catch-up mechanics are essential features for future Diablo 4 updates.

Class Balance

Diablo 4 Season 14 also revealed several issues with class balance. Barbarian's triple shout build remains dominant and needs nerf. Furthermore, the developers need to enhance the utility of Barbarian's multiple skills, strengthen classic core abilities, and provide Barbarians with more consistent sources of vulnerability spells to achieve class balance.

Druids still lack mobility. Bear Form Druids need optimization; Bear Form set bonus has a bug that sometimes disappears suddenly, and Wolf Form can sometimes get stuck in terrain.

Necromancer is considered the weakest class currently. Diablo 4 developers need to significantly improve Necromancer's defensive capabilities or reduce its reliance on specific equipment, while also comprehensively strengthening its core skills.

Paladin's popular builds are still plagued by bugs, most Sorcerer sets perform poorly, and their defensive mechanisms are overly dependent on specific equipment. Warlocks face issues with insufficient resource regeneration and cumbersome controls.

Many players believe that Diablo 4's defensive system is gradually becoming unbalanced. Many classes heavily rely on a few key pieces of equipment or skills, providing significant damage reduction; once the buff is broken, the character's survivability collapses instantly. This leads to a lack of stability in the game experience and forces many classes to be tied to specific equipment.

Convenience

In terms of convenience, Diablo 4 Season 14 still has many issues. Amulets, seals, and many Diablo 4 Items still require frequent picking up and disenchanting. Boss drops often occur very slowly, one piece at a time, affecting the pace of clearing maps.

Players hope that Diablo 4 developers will further improve the auto-loot and batch processing functions, such as referencing Diablo 3's teleportation loot system, allowing players to collect all materials with a single click.

The customization features of the loot filter are still insufficient. Many players hope to add features such as one-click deselection of all, automatic activation of rules based on the level of difficulty, hiding the map icons of filtered items, and preventing useless equipment from automatically entering the inventory.

Meanwhile, importing and sharing filters is very complicated for Diablo 4 console players, requiring further optimization from the developers.

Season 14 brings a lot of new content and new directions for growth to Diablo 4, but many issues affecting the leveling experience are gradually emerging. With the official launch date approaching, whether the developers will make significant adjustments based on community feedback will directly determine whether Season 14 will ultimately be well-received by players.
