Time to Return to Arrakis? A Deep Dive into Dune: Awakening's Chapter 3 Features | New & Changes Released on February 3

Recently, Dune Awakening announced the release of Chapter 3 on February 3rd, which includes a wealth of new and updated content for both loyal and returning players. This guide will introduce it to you in detail.

Jan 30, 2026 Author: EZG

The long-dormant game Dune: Awakening recently announced that a brand new Chapter 3 will be released on February 3, 2026. In addition to the new content and changes announced in December livestream, it will also include some latest adjustments based on player feedback.

Last summer, this game became a favorite among many players due to its combination of strong RPG gameplay and tense and exciting survival gameplay. However, it gradually declined because of the imbalance of PvPvE in the game and the lack of novelty in the game content, and the player base was lost.

However, this did not affect Dune Awakening's own development. So, during the developer livestream at the end of the year, it delivered a highly praised answer to all players, and even listened to feedback from some players since then to add and modify a lot of player-friendly content in Chapter 3.Time to Return to Arrakis? A Deep Dive into Dune: Awakening's Chapter 3 Features | New & Changes Released on February 3

If you've ever given up on this survival sandbox game, now's the perfect time to return. Know nothing about it? No problem, EZG.com has compiled all the content from Dune Awakening Chapter 3 so you can get a head start on your exploration when it launches on February 3rd.

Landsraad System Rebuilt

During last year's livestream, the developers stated that, in order to satisfy the desire of some advanced players who want more meaningful progression and more options after reaching Tier 6, they would add some replayable missions and new rewards in this latest chapter.

These deeper choices, shared goals, and more ways for your character to continue progressing will successfully expand your gameplay and experience in Endgame. This means that whether you play solo or in a team, you can more easily acquire loot and farm Dune Awakening Solari.

2 Progression Loops Added

Similarly, to meet players' further gameplay needs, the developers added two progress loops to the game: Specialization and Augmentations, which influence and cooperate with each other. Next, let here introduce them to you one by one.

Once you level up to a certain level, you can choose your next game style through Specialization, such as Fighter (melee), Saboteur (stealth), Technician (vehicles/building), Medic (healing), Trader (resources), and Analyst (scans). Each of them has different game skills, gear, and gameplay.

This character selection mechanic allows you to continually strengthen your character through various skill trees to create the character that best suits your playstyle. Furthermore, these characters can be upgraded, allowing you to utilize more unique traits. This high degree of customization is exactly what you've been dreaming of, isn't it?

Augmentations, on the other hand, is more like a Dune Awakening Items crafting system - you can craft fragments from blueprints to socket enhancement parts into weapons and armor, gaining powerful bonuses to your character's attributes, such as damage, defense, and gathering abilities.

Within this system, each weapon or garment can hold a maximum of 5 Augmentations, and their level cap is also 5. However, it's important to note that Augmentations will significantly reduce the durability of your items, and once applied, they cannot be removed, so be sure to double-check before using them.

Faction Ranks Expanded

The story of Chapter 3 picks up right after the events of Chapter 2, allowing for a seamless transition to everything your character has experienced. In this new story, you and your companions will battle other opponents and monsters in Neo Carthag dueling ring to delve deeper into the mysteries of your origins.

Because of the updated backstory, the number of factions in Dune: Awakening has been expanded, and each faction will have new contracts, rewards, quests, and extended reputation/rank progression, all of which bring a fresh and exciting gaming experience!

5 Challenge Locations & 5 Repeatable Testing Stations Added

On top of that, the developers have added some challenging locations in 5 overland sites where you can improve your reputation within your faction, thereby influencing your faction's control over Landsraad and earning more Specialization XP.

Not only that, each overland location contains a brand new test site and boss encounter. While the difficulty increases progressively, the rewards become increasingly generous, such as handfuls of Dune Awakening Solari and other crafting materials.Get Safe and Fast Dune Awakening Chapter 3 Solari at EZG.com

Quality of Life Has Improved

Finally, I'd like to introduce some quality-of-life improvements that Dune: Awakening has made based on feedback and opinions from the existing community and social media regarding all game content. For example, the weapon reworks that players have been asking for: it has now been confirmed that Dual-wielded knives, Pyrocket, and Rapier will be reworked.

In order to reduce the sense of disorientation for players who have been away from the game for a long time when they return to the world of Arrakis, Dune Awakening has added many features to return players in this Chapter 3, so that they will not be at a loss when faced with a base that is heavily in debt and out of power.

Base Reconstruction Tool allows players to pack and store their bases themselves and reassemble them when needed, which is very useful when you have plans to leave the game for an extended period. And they have added bank storage space so that you can more easily and safely store the items you have worked hard to obtain, preventing them from being looted by other players.

For players who want to explore together with their friends on a server, new Character Transfers feature may be a great help: you can freely transfer a fully-built character to another server without the risk of losing any items or currency. It is also reported that two new features will be added in Chapter 3, designed to slow down your exploration pace in the game and attract more new players.

These are some of the new and improved features in Chapter 3 of Dune: Awakening, which will be released on February 3rd. Although survival sandbox games are currently ubiquitous, I believe that with its player-centric approach and timely feedback, Dune: Awakening will regain its vitality in 2026, and perhaps even return to its peak!
