Dune Awakening Patch 1.4.0.0 Deep Desert Weekly Reset & Resource Guide: Best Loot Locations, Base Spots, and Essential Gear (May 19-26)

In Dune Awakening, Deep Desert resets every Tuesday with Coriolis Storm, reshaping loot and resources. This guide will help you dominate the endgame with optimal base spots, key loot locations, and essential items you need after Update 1.4.0.0.

Deep Desert in Dune Awakening is the true endgame challenge. Every Tuesday, Coriolis Storms sweep through Dune, reshaping the landscape. Old areas are buried under sand, while new resource veins, spice farms, and points of interest emerge from the depths. This weekly map reset sets the stage for a new race.

Deep Desert is the core endgame area in Dune Awakening for acquiring Tier 6 top-tier weapons, armor, and vehicle crafting materials. With each map reset, Deep Desert’s loot spawns.

To help players gain an early advantage and secure more resources, this guide compiles the latest official updates, including the major 1.4.0.0 update released on May 19th, and provides strategies for key resource locations, base selection suggestions, and optimal equipment.Dune Awakening Patch 1.4.0.0 Deep Desert Weekly Reset & Resource Guide: Best Loot Locations, Base Spots, and Essential Gear (May 19-26)

The update is officially live

Dune Awakening Update 1.4.0.0 was released on May 19th. Building upon the structural content of Chapter 3, this update aims to continuously optimize the core gameplay loop of Arrakis based on development vision and direct player feedback.

Key updates include two brand-new map locations and Deep Desert, which was also updated on the same day. So, what exactly has been updated in Deep Desert?

Weekly Reset Mechanism

Every Tuesday morning during the daily server restart, Coriolis Storms sweep across the entire Deep Desert. This massive planetary event destroys all player structures, clears resource nodes, and disrupts all points of interest in the final 9x9 grid. The main resets are as follows:

  • All player-built structures in Deep Desert will be buried by sand dunes.
  • Resource node locations - Titanium Ore, Strontium Chunks, and Jasmium Crystals will respawn with new configurations.
  • Spice fields, including medium and large, will appear at new coordinates.
  • Shipwrecks, caves, and Testing Stations will have changed locations.
  • Sinking map data is invalid, creating a valuable market for cartography at the start of the week.

Among these, valuable resources such as Titanium Ore and Strontium Chunks can only be obtained in Deep Desert. Their spawn locations change weekly, and they are essential materials for crafting Plastic Steel Ingots.

Strontium Chunks are primarily used in most top-tier recipes in Dune Awakening, and besides their probabilistic drop rate in Deep Desert, they can only be obtained in limited quantities by using Dune Awakening Solari or exchanging large amounts of water resources with merchants.

Obtaining these rare resources will allow players to create new layouts early, giving them a decisive advantage in the game. To more accurately acquire these valuable resources, you can refer to the following strategies:

  1. Reset Resource Distribution
  2. Best Loot Locations
  3. Most Efficient Base
  4. Essential Equipment

1. Reset Resource Distribution

According to the latest information from Dune Awakening, resource distribution has shifted westward this week. Currently, there are five known large spice farms. Unlike the even distribution of large spice farms in previous weeks, they are now heavily concentrated in the west.

The highest spice production occurs in sectors G, H, and I. Large spice farms, when fully harvested, can produce 15,000-20,000+ spice dust. The northern PvP area has the largest production source.

With five large spice farms and multiple points of interest concentrated in the western sectors, players establishing forward bases in B1, B2, or G3-F5 will have significantly reduced travel time and safer transport routes. In contrast, the eastern region is relatively barren this week, with only scattered points of interest.

For solo or duo players who prefer to avoid the high-risk areas, medium-sized spice farms remain an excellent alternative.

Two medium-sized spice fields are enough to fill one Centrifuge in Sandcrawler Vacuum.

This week, medium-sized spice fields are concentrated in the central-eastern region. D7, E7, and E6 offer relatively safe gathering environments, scattered across the islands. Players should remain vigilant about the skies and ensure their aircraft faces south for a quick crossing of sector boundaries.

2. Best Loot Locations

Resources are uniformly distributed across the three large maps of Dune Awakening. Some players may want to pursue higher-value resources and temporarily disregard general resources. For this, the following high-value loot distribution is exactly what you need.

Large Loot Caves

This week, there are five large loot caves in Deep Desert, distributed along a linear path: from F1 down to D4, up to F6, across to D9, and finally to B7 on the western border.

These caves are crucial for obtaining spice-infused plastic steel storage crates. For PvE players, the caves in the southern half are free from player conflict, while the northern caves offer better loot but are riskier.

Large caves are also a primary source of blueprints, especially the highly sought-after OP Buffer Armor set, which can be farmed from caves in G7 and I7. Resource nodes within caves respawn approximately every 30 to 40 minutes, facilitating efficient farming cycles.

Shipwrecks

Deep Desert contains numerous shipwrecks. Known named shipwrecks include: Wreck of the Xenophon (two locations), Wreck of the Stasanor, Wreck of the Hicetas, Wreck of the Hyperbatas, Wreck of the Archidamas III, Wreck of the Dioedas, Wreck of the Proxenus, Wreck of the Orsippus, Wreck of the Cycliadas, and Wreck of the Eumenes, plus eight unrecovered shipwrecks.

Shipwrecks contain high-tier loot such as Dune Awakening Buggy Engine, MK5 Generator, Duraluminum Ingot, and Spice-infused Duraluminum Dust. Three large shipwrecks are active this week: one in H2, one at the bottom of I5, and one in H8.

Testing Stations

Three large Testing Stations are active this week, roughly located in quadrants D2, H2, and F9, F8, E9, E8. These are exclusive locations for obtaining Adaptive Holtzman Shield and Young Sparky Mk6.

Testing Stations reset every 30 minutes, allowing players to repeatedly farm them until they obtain the desired items. They are also an excellent source of Particle Capacitors, Servo Motors, and Thermoelectric Coolers.

A Row PVE Testing Stations

For players lacking Intel Points, A Row Testing Stations remain a weekly must-do. Located entirely within PVE area, each Testing Station provides 180 intelligence points per week with zero risk.

No one can interfere with your actions, and these Testing Stations will not result in death, making them the safest and most reliable source of intelligence for players of all skill levels.

3. Highest Efficiency Base

For pinpointing the optimal location for your base, given this week’s resource concentration in the western part of Dune Awakening, the recommended base location is a rectangular area spanning F3 to G3 and G5 to F5. This area provides:

  • Multiple large loot caves
  • Titanium-rich islands in G4-G5
  • Large spice fields adjacent to the deep western region
  • A reasonable distance to Strontium ore deposit in G8

For PvP players seeking the fastest access to the large spice fields, building a base in B1-B2 will place you close to the western spice field cluster, providing the shortest sailing and transport routes.

For PvE servers, players can safely build their forward bases closer to the action zone, such as the small scattered islands in the western region (G3, G4, F3, and F4). These coordinates allow you to access almost all major resource types.

It’s worth noting that you should stockpile enough granite for base construction before entering Deep Desert. Once the base is built, craft and deploy a respawn beacon so you can return after death. Sectors A1 through A9 remain PvE safe zones, serving as reliable retreat points only if NPC enemies threaten your operations or if your frontline base falls.

4. Essential Equipment

Now that you know the locations of all resources and the best loot, remember to check your equipment before setting off on your adventure! For the 1.4.0.0 update, this site recommends some high-quality Dune Awakening Items to make your adventure smoother.

Before venturing into the deep desert, equip your Ornithopter with MK5 wings, an engine, and a generator. Install a scanning module to detect loot, providing optimal scan coverage when flying at an altitude of 500-550 meters.

Scout Ornithopter is superior to Assault type due to its higher speed and better fuel efficiency. The fastest travel speed is achieved using Dune Awakening Scout Ornithopter MK4.

In addition, you’ll need to bring some crucial supplies, such as fuel, a welding torch, welding wire (for repairing your Ornithopter), a handheld scanner, and a Dune Awakening Cutteray MK5 or MK6, essential for efficient Titanium Ore gathering.

And most importantly, water. Because in the desert, there will be no shelters providing water except your base.

Finally, here are some tips for desert travelers:

  • Prioritize safety in PvP, then consider resource production.
  • Aim for 2.5x gathering multipliers in PvE.
  • When landing to gather or explore, always keep your Ornithopter facing south.
  • Avoid mixing gathering targets, as this will distract you.

Finally, wishing every traveler a bountiful harvest!
