FC 27 v1.0.1 Breakdown: What's Changing with Jockeying, FUT Bugs, and The Grounds?

FC 27 Version 1.0.1 brings targeted fixes for Ultimate Team, Jockey Speed changes in Authentic Gameplay, The Grounds bug fixes, 11v11 stamina adjustments, and controller input issues.

Sep 23, 2026 Author: EZG Views: 28

EA SPORTS FC 27 is set to receive the v1.0.1 update. As one of the first patches following Early Access period, this is a minor update focused on addressing bugs recently reported by players, as well as issues identified during Closed Beta phase.

EA has clarified that v1.0.1 will not significantly alter the current gameplay balance or tuning

The development team aims to maintain the gameplay tuning established during Early Access and the initial launch phase, giving players ample time to familiarize themselves with FC 27's defensive, offensive, and player movement mechanics.

FC 27 v1.0.1 Breakdown: What's Changing with Jockeying, FUT Bugs, and The Grounds?

FC 27 v1.0.1 Overview

The focus of v1.0.1 is clear: there are no sweeping numerical adjustments to shooting, passing, defensive AI, PlayStyles, or other core competitive mechanics.

EA stated that they want players to have sufficient time to learn and adapt to the gameplay from Early Access and launch periods; therefore, this minor update will not significantly change core competitive parameters.

Officials also confirmed that other reported issues remain under investigation. Consequently, v1.0.1 serves as an initial round of targeted fixes, with further updates planned to address remaining issues.

Ultimate Team Fix

This patch includes only one specific fix for Ultimate Team, relating to Evolution player filter.

Previously, when using Filter Evolutions By Player function, selecting a Player Item that did not meet the specific Evolution requirements could cause UI to become unresponsive, hindering menu navigation.

This issue will be resolved following the update.

This change does not alter Evolution eligibility criteria, stat upgrades, or completion methods, nor does it expand the pool of eligible players.

For players who frequently check which Evolutions can be applied to their existing players, the primary improvement lies in menu stability.

This is particularly beneficial when deciding whether to start an Evolution with a new player; users can now filter their existing squads more smoothly before determining if it is worth spending FUT 27 coins to acquire a suitable card from Transfer Market.

Jockey Speed Changes

One of the most easily misunderstood adjustments in Authentic Gameplay category is the increase in the default slider values for Jockey Speed and Sprint Jockey Speed.

These increases apply only to Authentic Gameplay modes, primarily Career Mode and Kick Off.

With this change, defenders move slightly faster by default when using Jockey or Sprint Jockey, offering greater agility during one-on-one situations and when tracking a ball carrier.

Does Jockey Affect FUT?

No.

Ultimate Team utilizes Competitive Gameplay, and the adjustments to Jockey and Sprint Jockey sliders were not applied to this mode.

Consequently, FUT players do not need to re-evaluate which defenders are best suited for Jockey-style defending, nor is there a need to alter defensive tactics solely because of update 1.0.1.

The defensive pace in Ultimate Team remains largely unchanged from Early Access period; therefore, there is no need to rush into spending FIFA 27 coins to replace your current defenders based on this Jockey adjustment.

The Grounds Fixes

The Grounds is the mode that received the most fixes in update v1.0.1.

Previously, some Avatars could not perform 5-Star Skill Moves in Street Football matches, even after unlocking and equipping the required Skill Level. Following the update, eligible characters can now successfully execute these advanced moves.

Issues with Hot Join have also been resolved. Some players previously encountered failures when attempting to join matches via this feature; this patch addresses that anomaly.

Additionally, the patch addresses instances of abnormally high ping occasionally experienced during League Matches. Note that the patch notes refer to latency issues occurring under specific circumstances; this does not mean that all network lag or server-related problems will vanish with this update.

11v11 Stamina Changes

Beyond bug fixes, The Grounds 11v11 received an adjustment that directly affects gameplay: the impact of fatigue on long-term stamina has been increased.

Following this change, the effect of accumulated fatigue on long-term stamina is more pronounced. This means that managing stamina consumption throughout the match is now more critical; excessive high-intensity movement is more likely to negatively affect a player's condition in the later stages of the game.

Official details regarding specific stamina value changes have not yet been released, making it difficult to gauge the exact impact on unique positions or movement styles. However, the direction of these adjustments suggests that 11v11 players will need to pay closer attention to stamina management throughout the match.

FC 27 The Grounds

Controller Input Fix

The gameplay update also fixes an input bug affecting custom controller presets.

Previously, players using custom control schemes might find that, despite configuring their buttons, the game failed to execute the intended actions during matches. For players who customize controls for passing, shooting, defending, or switching players, this issue directly compromised control reliability.

This input anomaly is resolved in version 1.0.1.

Will Meta Change?

Based on the announced scope of changes, the competitive gameplay in Ultimate Team remains largely unaffected by version 1.0.1.

FUT-specific fixes are limited to resolving unresponsiveness in Evolution filter menu; the adjustment to Jockey speed applies only to Authentic Gameplay, and the stamina changes in The Grounds mode do not directly impact Ultimate Team.

Consequently, there is no need to immediately overhaul your current formations, custom tactics, or key players due to this patch. For FUT players, it is more practical to continue adapting to the existing defensive rhythm and match mechanics of FC 27 rather than spending FC coins to rebuild squads prematurely in response to version 1.0.1.

EA is still reviewing several issues reported by players, so upcoming patches may address problems that are not included in v1.0.1. Any broader changes to Competitive Gameplay will probably come in a later update.
