After the announcement of Castellan's Creed Legendary Warbond for H2, player attention was primarily focused on 40K elements. Bomb weapons, Imperial-style armor, and 40-K Meltagun are enough to excite Warhammer 40K fans.
However, after observing the trailer, Warbond's potential to truly change the game environment isn't just about the cool-looking new weapons.
Currently, the specific stats of the equipment are not fully confirmed, so many judgments can only be made based on the trailer's presentation and official information.
However, from an overall perspective, this Warbond clearly emphasizes a certain gameplay style: wielding heavier weapons and more proactively dealing with large targets.

TG Series Armor
What interests me most this time is TG Series Armor's passive ability: True Grit. This passive increases weapon handling speed and also improves the reload speed of support weapons. While the improvement to weapon handling isn't particularly dramatic, its genuine appeal lies in the faster reload speed of support weapons.
Many support weapons in H2 share a common characteristic: extremely high damage, but their usage is often slowed down by reload speed.
This is especially true for MG-206 Heavy Machine Gun. Many players love this gun for its sheer firepower. Once set up, it provides strong suppression against robots or swarms of insects. However, the long reload time after the magazine empties often puts players at a disadvantage.
If TG Armor's reload speed bonus remains as advertised, it could revitalize many support weapons and become one of the most popular items in future Helldivers 2 Items selections.
Faster reloads mean players can engage tanks, Chargers, turrets, and other targets more frequently, significantly reducing the pressure on anti-armor units in the squad.
Aesthetically, however, this Armor is controversial. TG series in Warbond is very close to the style of 40K tabletop model, a design that evokes Warhammer 40K feel for fans of the original game. However, in a video game, some textures appear somewhat stiff.
However, H2 players are very practical. While the appearance of equipment affects first impressions, combat effectiveness is what truly determines usage rate. If this passive ability isn't nerfed after its release, it will probably become a frequently used item quickly.
R-40-K Hot-Shot
R-40-K Hot-Shot marksman rifle is one weapon in Warbond that best embodies 40K's spirit.
The official description emphasizes its threat at both close and long ranges, suggesting it might not be a pure sniper weapon, but a more versatile Marksman Rifle.
However, the performance of this type of weapon in H2 has always been highly dependent on the environment.
For example, in Automatons' missions, accurate shooting is highly valuable. Because enemies in these missions are usually further away, their weak points are more obvious, giving players time to find opportunities to attack. If R-40-K has good damage and stability, it might become a comfortable choice on Automaton battlefields.
However, it's harder to say in Terminids missions. Because Terminids combat is too fast-paced, large numbers of enemies will constantly approach the player. Rapid clearing capability is often more important than precise targeting.
Therefore, I think R-40-K might not become a universal primary weapon for all missions, but a specialized weapon for specific enemy types.
P-40-K Bolt Pistol
P-40-K Bolt Pistol is probably one of the most discussed new weapons among H2 players right now. Its trailer shows a very 40K-like appearance, with a noticeable explosion effect upon bullet hit, and its single-shot damage looks outstanding.
It looks more like a high-damage secondary weapon, used to quickly eliminate elite targets. If it had medium penetration, it would be very valuable. Players could use their primary weapon to deal with ordinary enemies and then use the bolt-action pistol to handle more dangerous units.
This design is actually quite in line with bomb weapons. However, if Arrowhead designs its damage to be conservative, it might face an awkward situation: it looks cool, but its actual usage frequency is low.
G-40-K Meltamine
G-40-K Meltamine is a rather unique piece of equipment in this Warbond update. Judging from the trailer, it resembles an anti-heavy explosive device. Ordinary units passing by won't trigger it, but large targets approaching will cause an explosion.
The gameplay of this equipment is highly dependent on the environment.
In defensive missions, it could be extremely powerful. Players who know the enemy's attack direction can pre-position G-40-K Meltamine, allowing enemies to directly enter the blast radius during their advance. If there are enough, it might even become a core piece of equipment in some fixed defensive missions.
However, its value might decrease in regular missions. H2 often requires players to move constantly, with few opportunities for extended battlefield preparation. Unless its damage and carrying quantity are exceptionally high, players might still prioritize more direct explosive equipment.
40-K Meltagun
If I had to choose the piece of equipment I'm most looking forward to in this Warbond update, I would choose 40-K Meltagun. The reason is simple: it seems to fill a rather interesting gap. Currently, H2 offers a wide selection of anti-heavy weapons, but each has its limitations.
40-K Meltagun, however, feels more like a high-burst, close-range assault weapon. It has a similar charging mechanism and can deal significant damage to large targets.
If it ultimately gains high penetration, it could become a very proactive anti-armor option. However, compared to the safer playstyle of Quasar, 40-K Meltagun might require players to get closer to the target.
Melting weapons are inherently equipment that releases devastating heat upon approaching the target. If the game truly captures this feeling, players would likely experience a great sense of satisfaction charging into tanks or large units with it.
The Biggest Change Brought by Warbond
After reviewing the entire Warbond, I think the biggest highlight in terms of weapons is 40-K Meltagun, the biggest unknown is the bolt-action pistol, and the one that could truly change player build habits is TG series Armor.
The core of H2's combat has always revolved around firepower, and this Armor set perfectly enhances the support weapon system. If it maintains its current appearance, players will probably see large numbers of Helldivers clad in 40K Armor, carrying heavy weapons, charging into battle for a long time to come.
This collaboration with 40K hasn't changed the core gameplay of H2, but it has given players a combat style closer to 40K - heavier equipment, more intense firepower, and solving everything with artillery fire.
