After the release of Path of Exile 3.29 Curse of the Allflame, most players focused on the new league content and class adjustments. However, there are actually many important changes hidden in different parts of the patch notes that are easily overlooked.
These adjustments, although not highlighted by the official patch notes, can directly affect your progression efficiency, build choices, and late-game farming experience.

Next, EZG will introduce these important changes in Path of Exile Curse of the Allflame that you might have overlooked.
Monster Reflect
Let's start with the changes to Monster Reflect. Reflect has always been a less-than-popular mechanic. Now, POE is finally making significant changes to this mechanic. The familiar reflection mechanic from Patch 3.29 will be removed, replaced by a completely new Thorns damage system.
Monsters can now possess either physical or elemental thorns bonuses, essentially a monster buff that activates when they receive the corresponding type of damage. For example, when a monster with physical thorns takes physical damage, it activates a buff lasting 5 seconds. Each time it is attacked, it deals a fixed amount of damage to the attacker.
Several points about this change are crucial. First, you can only take physical or elemental thorns damage once every 0.1 seconds, allowing for timely reactions, especially if you have damage reduction abilities. For instance, if you have elemental resistance, 1,500 points of reflected damage will only deal 375 points of damage to you.
However, physical thorn damage is more dangerous. Some Path of Exile builds have almost no physical damage reduction, relying primarily on evasion and similar abilities. But don't worry, your evasion stacks still apply, and skills like blocking and dodging will affect damage.
These damage modifiers will vary depending on the type of damage you actually inflict. If you initiate an attack, your dodge ability will apply to the reflected damage. If you initiate an attack or cast a spell, the block effect will actually apply to the type of spell that is reflected back.
However, there's one thing to note about this change: previously, because of the small amount of elemental reflection damage, you could completely ignore it. But in Curse of the Allflame, Thorns system reflects a fixed amount of damage. Even if you only deal a very small amount of elemental damage, after triggering Elemental Thorns effect, you will take the full Thorns damage.
Therefore, builds with a low attack frequency will only take one Thorns damage instance, while those with many small damage instances in Path of Exile may actually take more damage.
Grey Spire & Stasis Prison
Two easily overlooked unique items in Path of Exile Curse of the Allflame have also received significant buffs. The first is Grey Spire. This staff wasn't used much in the history of Path of Exile, but it's very useful for Chieftains, providing a significant global damage boost. And in Patch 3.29, it received a major buff. Now, its damage can be increased by up to 400%, and all maximum resistances by up to 5%. Its only drawback is the lack of sockets, but it now has a new affix: Implicit Modifier Magnitudes are doubled.
If you corrupt or double-corrupt this staff, you may gain some very powerful intrinsic affixes. Additionally, Path of Exile Divine Orb can be used to update existing items to the new values, but they will not receive the Implicit Modifier Magnitudes are doubled change.
Another buff is to Stasis Prison. It gains an 80%-100% Increased Implicit Modifier Magnitudes, which also nearly doubles Implicit effect. Combined with the new Vestigial Unique mechanic and the new Corrupted Implicits, this Body Armour is expected to see more high-value combinations in PoE in the future.
Meanwhile, this change also suggests that Stasis Prison may be primarily obtained through Vestigial Unique Chains in the future, rather than from previous acquisition methods.
Avoidance Stacking
Previously, in PoE, Chance to Avoid All Damage from Hits and Avoidance effects targeting specific damage types did not directly add up.
After Patch 3.29, both are now calculated additively. This means that Avoidance effects gained by Assassins using Elusive can directly stack with sources providing physical Avoidance, such as Aspect of Stone or Replica Mistwall, which is undoubtedly a significant buff for Assassins.
Support Gems
After completing Caged Brute in Patch 3.29, all PoE classes can obtain Faster Attacks Support from Nessa; after completing Act II Sharp and Cruel, all classes can obtain Faster Casting Support from Yeena.
The most significant impact is on Faster Attacks. Previously, Witches and Templars had difficulty obtaining this support skill during early progression; now, they can utilize movement skills like Shield Charge earlier to improve movement efficiency, which will help with overall leveling speed.
Immortal Call Bug
Curse of the Allflame also fixed a bug related to Immortal Call and Minimum Endurance Charges. Previously, POE Immortal Call incorrectly included unconsumable Minimum Charges in the calculation of physical damage reduction per stack of Endurance Charge, allowing many Hierophant builds to achieve significantly higher-than-expected physical damage reduction.
This mechanism was officially fixed in Path of Exile 3.29. Only actually consumable Endurance Charges will be included in the calculation, thus reducing the survivability of builds relying on this mechanism. If your build was affected, you can buy Path of Exile Currency from EZG.com to help you build powerful gear and improve survivability.
QoL Features
Chimera Map
The boss in Pit of the Chimera now spawns only one wave of enemies per phase, previously four waves. Compared to other Shaper Guardian Maps, this boss fight is ridiculously long and tedious, so any changes that improve this are welcome.
Monster Soul Eater & Explode
The duration of Soul Eater monsters gaining souls has been shortened. If they don't gain more souls within two seconds, the souls will disappear much faster. Therefore, when facing Soul Eater Rare, you can now create distance and wait for the buff to disappear naturally instead of constantly fighting it.
Additionally, the timer for the delayed explosions of Elemental Orbs after death in POE will no longer stop even if you leave the area, preventing instant death from ground explosions after defeating the boss.
Ctrl Click
In POE Patch 3.29, Immortal Syndicate members can skip the confirmation window during Release using Ctrl+Click, reducing a lot of repetitive actions. While this change may seem minor, players who frequently farm Betrayal should notice a significant efficiency improvement.
