Recently, many players have been researching Scrying system in PoE Patch 3.29, and the first map that comes to mind for most is Graveyard. The reason is simple to understand: Graveyard is tied to cards with absurdly high value, like Damnation, which costs nearly 600 Divine Orbs per card.

Many players, upon seeing this price, immediately think: "Of course I'll Scry Graveyard, what more is there?" However, many only see the currency value of Damnation, ignoring how rare it is to obtain.

Scrying system doesn't simply put a 600 Divine Orb card on the map and wait for you to collect it. The actual drop involves a complex weighting mechanism, meaning most of the time you're facing a very low-probability event.

Therefore, if your goal is to consistently earn currency, Graveyard isn't as appealing as it seems.

The Role of Scrying Orbs

The logic of divination cards is familiar: collect a certain number to redeem rewards. Some cards are only worth a few Chaos Orbs, while others can be traded for high-value gear or large amounts of currency.

Scrying Orbs help you transfer divination cards from one map to another. If you don't like farming in Graveyard but prefer Strand or City Square, you can use Scrying Orbs to transfer the cards you want.

Therefore, in Curse of the Allflame, it's more worthwhile to research which PoE map is most cost-effective for scrambling, maximizing your returns as consistently as possible.

Damnation Drop Rate

Based on my testing in Patch 3.29, on average, it takes about 1.6 million divination cards to see a Damnation.

This number might not seem significant at first glance. But if you calculate it, even if each PoE map drops 100 divination cards, you'd still need to farm 1,600 maps to reach the average drop rate of once. And this is just an average, not a guaranteed drop.

It's possible that even after farming 1,600 maps, you still won't get the card.

Therefore, Scrying Graveyard isn't incapable of generating currency, it's just extremely luck-dependent. The drops in normal gameplay don't provide much profit; to actually earn a profit, you basically have to wait for that rare, high-probability jackpot.

If you actually get Damnation, that's fantastic. But if you're using it as a stable currency farming method, it's essentially like treating lottery tickets as your salary.

Cage: Mediocre Option

Many players in Curse of the Allflame who find farming Graveyard too risky switch to Cage, since everyone's still eyeing Apothecary. But Cage has similar problems.

According to data estimates, the target card requires an average of about 600,000 divination cards to appear once. Even assuming 1,000 cards per PoE map, that's still 600 maps.

It is indeed slightly better than Damnation, but not by much; often, you farm for a long time without seeing any decent returns.

The problem is that Cage is also very luck-dependent, and even if you do get a good card, the returns aren't as dramatic as Graveyard. Since you're going to gamble anyway, farming Cage is somewhat of a loss.

Palace

Considering other maps, Palace is much better than the previous two that require gambling to get a good card. Its target card, The Sephirot, has a significantly higher drop rate than Damnation. Farming it for a while will give you a better chance of seeing returns than farming Damnation.

However, the problem with this map lies in Scrying Orb itself. In Curse of the Allflame, The Sephirot costs around 179 Chaos Orbs, while the corresponding Scrying Orb costs around 650 PoE Chaos Orbs.

While it's true that the card is easier to get, you've already paid a considerable entry fee upfront. In the end, the expected return per 1,000 divination cards isn't particularly attractive.

This is a point many people easily overlook when calculating Scry: you can't just look at the card's currency value; you also need to factor in the drop rate, Scrying Orb price, and actual farming frequency.

The most suitable: Cemetery

Based on current market calculations, Cemetery is actually the most suitable card for average PoE players to farm in Patch 3.29.

Its corresponding divination card, Brother's Gift, is worth approximately 5 Divine Orbs per card, not as outrageous as Damnation, but the drop rate is significantly higher, and it only requires about 50 Chaos Orbs of Scrying Orbs.

Converting to the expected return per 1,000 divination cards, Cemetery yields approximately 0.06 Divine Orbs, while Palace only yields about 0.02 Divine Orbs, a difference of nearly three times.

The key is not just the higher numbers. Cemetery's returns won't be entirely tied to a card you might not even see throughout your entire league. Running dozens or hundreds of maps normally gives you a real chance to see your target divination card drop. This is far more important for the average player.

Map Selection Strategy

If you enjoy the thrill of getting hundreds of Divine Orbs in a single PoE drop, then Graveyard is definitely worth playing. A Damnation drop is indeed quite satisfying.

However, if your goal is to consistently earn currency, don't just focus on this 600 Divine Orb divination card. You need to consider: how long will it take me to get one in Curse of the Allflame?

Among these maps, Graveyard is at the highest risk end, Cage is about the same; Palace and Cemetery are clearly closer to the stable income end. Among these maps where it's relatively easy to see your target card, Cemetery has the highest average return, followed by Strand and Bramble Valley.
