On March 20, WoW Classic 20th Anniversary released the first part of Phase 3, and will release the second part on April 3. In order to fully guarantee your gaming experience, we will provide you with an overview of Phase 3.

Mar 27, 2025 Author: EZG

If you’ve been interested in World of WarCraft series before, then you should have at least played the original WoW Classic game or any of the servers such as SOD and Era. But even if you haven’t, it doesn’t matter, because the latest WoW 20th Anniversary is also in full swing!

WoW Classic 20th Anniversary launched in 2024 is obviously born to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the original game, so it continues to provide you with new content every 2-3 months based on the playable content of WoW Classic. Not long ago, the game officially entered Phase 3 on March 20, and more Phase 3 content will be available on April 3. Let us introduce them to you one by one.WoW Classic 20th Anniversary All Phase 3 Content: It’s Time To Get New Experience!

Phase 3 Part 1 On March 20

In order to ensure that it can attract the attention of new and old players at the first time, the content of the first part of Phase 3 must be substantial enough, and in fact it is. In addition to the new reputation rewards and level 50 class quests, the core content of Phase 3 of WoW 20th Anniversary released on March 20 are Blackwing Lair raid and Darkmoon Faire.

Blackwing Lair Raid

Blackwing Lair is now controlled by Nefarian. Originally, it belonged to Dark Iron Dwarves, but later Nefarian occupied this place and planned to take this opportunity to spread its dark power throughout Azeroth. What you have to do is to work with your teammates in Blackwing Lair raid to stop Nefarian’s conspiracy by fighting against the 8 bosses in the raid, and at the same time earn WoW Classic 20th Anniversary Gold to upgrade gear or weapons to cope with more subsequent game content. These 8 bosses are:

  • Razorgore the Untamed: Although his main task is to protect and cultivate various black dragon eggs hidden in Blackwing Lair, it will be troublesome to anger him.
  • Vaelastrasz the Corrupt: He was not originally a villain, but was unfortunately corrupted after being defeated by Nefarian and had to work for Nefarian.
  • Broodlord Lashlayer: A frontline soldier belonging to the black dragon legion, but not a real dragon.
  • Firemaw, Ebonroc, and Flamegore: As members of the black dragon legion, these three dragons often act at the same time. On the surface, they obey Nefarian, but their true loyalty is to Deathwing.
  • Chromaggus: A dragon-like creature created by Nefarian himself, with a colorful and strange appearance and many dragon abilities.
  • Nefarian: The most dangerous final boss.

WoW Classic 20th Anniversary Blackwing Lair Raid

When you and your teammates defeat these bosses and complete the entire Blackwing Lair raid, in addition to the regular WoW 20th Gold, you will also receive a level 2 set and related rewards, and the specific rewards will vary depending on your character’s class:

  • Druid: Stormrage Raiment
  • Hunter: Dragonstalker Armor
  • Mage: Netherwind Regalia
  • Paladin: Judgement Armor
  • Priest: Vestments of Transcendence
  • Rogue: Bloodfang Armor
  • Shaman: The Ten Storms
  • Warlock: Nemesis Raiment
  • Warrior: Battlegear of Wrath

Darkmoon Faire

This is an event that only takes place in a fixed location and a fixed time period, so if you want to experience it, be sure to keep in mind: Darkmoon Faire usually arrives at the corresponding location on Friday, starts setting up the venue over the weekend, opens on the following Monday, and lasts for a week until the following Sunday. The venue rotates between Elwynn Forest and Mulgore.

But rather than a circus, Darkmoon Faire is more like a small mobile market. Many foreign merchants will come to Azeroth with the owner of Darkmoon Faire to bring you good things that you rarely see, and you can exchange these goods with gold coins or Darkmoon Faire tickets.WoW Classic 20th Anniversary Darkmoon Faire

New Level 50 Class Quests

If your character level reaches 50 or above when entering the third stage, you can go to any main city to find the corresponding class trainer to start your new round of adventure. However, the quests for different classes are available in different locations, as follows:

  • Druid: Un’Goro Crater
  • Hunter: Azshara along the cliffs near the eastern shore
  • Mage: Azshara
  • Paladin: Western Plaguelands
  • Priest: Azshara along the cliffs near the eastern shore
  • Rogue: Alterac Valley
  • Shaman: Bath’rah the Windwatcher in Chillwind Point
  • Warlock: Felwood
  • Warrior: Swamp of Sorrows

It is worth noting that although Phase 3 will also bring some new reputation rewards, the rewards will vary depending on whether you are an Alliance or Horde player. You need to distinguish and claim them according to your faction.

Phase 3 Part 2 On April 3

Compared to the first part, Phase 3 part 2 has less new content, mainly including the cancellation of PVP honor rank 11 cap and the resource battle that can be carried out in Arathi Basin.

Arathi Basin

To participate in the battle, you need to travel to Arathi Basin in Arathi Highlands. The specific entrance coordinates will be different depending on your faction - Alliance players will start near stables at Trollbane Hall, while Horde players will start near Defiler’s Den farm.WoW Classic 20th Anniversary Arathi Basin

Once you arrive at Arathi Basin, you need to join a team of 15 people, and then start from the different starting point as the enemy team, try to occupy 5 resource nodes within the total. The first team to accumulate 2000 resources through these nodes will win. The 5 nodes are located at:

  • Stables: Nearest Trollbane Hall
  • Gold Mine: Northeast corner of the map
  • Blacksmith: Center of the map
  • Lumber Mill: Southeast of the map
  • Farm: Closest to Defiler’s Den

Since the second part is not yet online, it is recommended that you hurry up to complete the events and tasks in the first part to obtain enough resources for the battle for Arathi Basin, which will be online on April 3. Good luck!

WoW Classic 20th Anniversary Gold & Material Farming | Stockpiling Resources before TBC Pre-Patch Launch

TBC Anniversary Pre-Patch will launch on January 13, 2026. With the launch date approaching and the end of Phase 6 of WoW Classic 20th Anniversary approaching, you need to prepare in advance to create a perfect start for TBC Classic Anniversary.

When your WoW 20th Anniversary Phase 6 ends, your server will automatically transition to The Burning Crusade version. If you are a dedicated WoW 20th Anniversary player, you can now farm enough resources in the game to make your TBC journey smoother.

Next, I will introduce the important reserve resources that can be farmed in WoW Classic 20th Anniversary and will be carried over to WoW TBC Anniversary Pre-Patch, and how to obtain them.

Gold farming locations

Gold is the most consumable resource in the game, and it is indispensable regardless of which version server you are on. Especially in The Burning Crusade, a normal flight costs 800 gold, while an epic flight costs a whopping 5000 gold. Therefore, your primary goal is to continuously farm WoW Classic 20th Anniversary gold.

Here are the most popular gold farming locations in WoW Classic 20th Phase 6:

1. Eastern Plaguelands (EPL)

As the most severely affected area in Plaguelands, Eastern Plaguelands offers players a substantial gold reward. You'll need to acquire the following here:

  • Plaguebloom
  • Black Lotus
  • Rich Thorium
  • Runecloth
  • Scourgestones

You can exchange these items for enough gold through auctions or by trading.

2. Silithus

Silithus is one of the zerg-infested areas in southern Kalimdor. You can use Twilight Cultist sets here to summon Twilight Members, obtaining Abyssal Signet or Abyssal Crest, both profitable trade items.

If you're lucky, you might also find extra Rich Thorium and Black Lotus here, both top-tier core resources.

3. Winterspring

Winterspring is a frozen valley in northern Kalimdor. These are your primary farming targets here:

  • Icecap herbs
  • Winterfall mobs (Essence of Water)
  • Rugged Leather from Frostsabers

Icecap herbs, in particular, are extremely valuable and in high demand, still useful even in the early stages of TBC.

4. Dire Maul Tribute Runs (DM North)

Dire Maul has three winged sections. Players level 55 and above are advised to visit this area, especially North wing, the location of the famous Tribute Runs.

If your character is a Mage, you can solo this; other classes are best suited for a five-person group. After completing Dire Maul Tribute Runs challenge, you will receive the following rewards:

  • Gold
  • Librams
  • Ogre Tannin
  • High-value BoEs

5. Swamp of Sorrows

Swamp of Sorrows is widely recognized as one of the best gold farming spots, as it is rich in Blindweed, Gromsblood, and Stonescale Eel, as well as other materials.

You can combine herbalism and fishing here for maximum profit, as the swamp is not only suitable for herb growth due to the sea seeping into the land, but also teeming with creatures.

Materials

Besides gold, you can also stockpile high-value items in WOW 20th. Some can be exchanged for gold, while others are equally useful in TBC Pre-Patch.

1. High-Grade Ores

The most valuable items are high-grade ores. They can be exchanged for a large amount of gold and are also important materials for crafting. You can focus on these ores:

  • Thorium Ore
  • Rich Thorium
  • Arcane Crystal
  • Dark Iron Bar
  • Dark Iron Ore

Sources:

  • BRD
  • Winterspring
  • Molten Core
  • BWL
  • BRD Bosses
  • Dark Iron Dwarf

These are core resources for crafting high-end gear and pushing your professions. However, too many will take up inventory space. Therefore, you should stockpile only the resources most important to you based on your character's needs.

2. Top-Tier Herbs

Herbs are essential materials for crafting Flask.

  • Plaguebloom
  • Icecap
  • Dreamfoil
  • Mountain Silversage
  • Golden Sansam

Winterspring and Felwood are important sources of these herbs in WoW Classic 20th Anniversary. If you are an Alchemy profession, farming large quantities of herbs is your top priority.

3. Cloth

Runecloth is the most worthwhile cloth to farm in the game for TBC. As a high-level cloth material, it has a wide range of uses, and its drop sources are relatively numerous:

  • Scholomance: Dropped by Skeletal or Elite Undead;
  • Stratholme: Dropped by Undead or Elite mobs;
  • BRD: Focus on Elite mobs and bosses.

In these locations, you can not only obtain Runecloth but also gold, ores, and herbs, making resource acquisition highly efficient.

4. Rare Recipes

Rare recipes are typically used to craft high-end equipment and items, so even in TBC Anniversary, they are indispensable items that can enhance your class's strength.

The most important of these are Thorium Recipes and Dark Iron Recipes, which can be farmed simultaneously in Blackrock Depths (BRD).

Besides stockpiling sufficient resources, the skills, gear, and character attributes you acquire in WoW Classic 20th Anniversary will carry over to WoW Classic TBC Anniversary Pre-Patch.

However, be aware that there are still some differences between the two game versions. Therefore, you should focus on consumables that are still valuable in TBC, as you'll likely use them extensively at the start of the game.

For other items whose value has decreased, such as Black Lotus, it's best to sell them for gold before Pre-Patch goes live.

In short, to gain a significant resource advantage in Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary, act now!
