WoW Classic 20th Anniversary Ultimate Preparation Before Transition Guide | Quest Strategies And Leveling Routes

Celebrate WoW Classic 20th Anniversary with this ultimate preparation guide! Discover the best leveling routes, Silithus and Ahn’Qiraj quest chains, and efficient reputation strategies to gear up for the next adventure in Azeroth’s new chapter.

Nov 08, 2025 Author: EZG

With the arrival of World of Warcraft: Classic 20th Anniversary Edition, Azeroth is enveloped in a festive and nostalgic atmosphere. This not only provides a more friendly starting point for both new and returning players but also lays the groundwork for the upcoming The Burning Crusade.

At this special time, a comprehensive ultimate preparation guide has been created to help players make the most of existing resources, optimize character progression and equipment accumulation, and be fully prepared for their new adventure in Outland.

WoW Classic 20th Anniversary Ultimate Preparation Before Transition Guide | Quest Strategies And Leveling Routes

Silithus Quests

Silithus Desert holds immense opportunities as the core area of the preparation campaign. Twilight Mystery questline in its northwest corner is the starting point. Players must collect eight scattered Twilight Tablet Fragments and venture into the eastern caves to find NPC.

Strategically saving the quest completion and submission phase for a specific time is key to unlocking subsequent high-reward experience points.

An advanced challenge involves collecting three Twilight Lexicons, which requires defeating different types of Twilight Keepers. Meanwhile, strategically utilizing the auction house to acquire Encrypted Twilight Texts can save significant time at crucial moments and earn substantial additional experience.

Cenarion Hold serves as the command center for the operation. Deadly Desert Venom questline, accepted from here, will guide you through clearing spiders and scorpions in the north.

The southern quests point to a more dangerous objective – an elite scorpion. Successfully defeating and collecting the required items, then submitting Dearest Natalia quest, will trigger subsequent hidden quests such as Maw of Madness.

The challenges in the southern caves are far from easy to overcome alone. The questline to collect Hive'Regal Glyphed Crystal and Brain part is fraught with peril, filled with powerful enemies.

Assembling a reliable team will not only improve efficiency but also ensure safety. Successfully completing subsequent quests unlocked by Dearest Natalia will further enhance your preparation.

Additionally, upgrading your Centarion Circle reputation to Friendly, Honored, and Revered will unlock a series of reward quests that can be completed directly using Auction House materials. Completing these tasks is an extremely efficient way to gain experience and obtain WoW Classic 20th Anniversary Gold.

Ahn'Qiraj

The Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj and The Temple of Ahn'Qiraj raids are not only testing your team's strength but also a vast treasure trove of resources.

After completing AQ40 raids, players can exchange the badges earned from defeating bosses for reputation. Quest unlock items dropped by certain bosses offer even more experience, making them a must-try for experienced players.

Alterac Mountains

After completing Silithus questline, players can proceed to the next area – Alterac Mountains, suitable for players level 27-39. Starting from Phase 3, the portal to Alterac Valley battleground is located there.

Players from Horde and Alliance can accept introductory quests at Orc and Ironforge banks respectively, entering the eternal battlefield of Alterac Mountains.

Completing various battlefield objectives in advance, such as collecting flags and submitting them all at once at the right time, can earn a massive experience reward of over 50,000 points.

Furthermore, the reputation upgrade chain for battlefield-exclusive trinkets provides continuous experience gains with each upgrade from Friendly to Revered, allowing you to level up rapidly while competing for honor.

Plaguelands Quests

When players reach levels 58-60, they can enter Plaguelands for a series of quests. Horde and Alliance players accept prerequisite quests from Undercity or Ironforge, then delve into the corrupted Plaguelands.

Teaming up to challenge the two classic dungeons, Stratholme and Scholomance, is crucial. Collecting quest items such as Stratholme Holy Water in advance ensures you can instantly complete multiple quests when needed, achieving a burst of experience gain.

When players defeat bosses in dungeons, they will receive BoE items as rewards. These BoE items can be sold for a large amount of WoW Classic Anniversary Gold, making them extremely valuable for exploration.

Blasted Lands Quests

Stat Potion Quests, Kum'isha the Collector, Dark Portal Chain, and Warlock Questline in Blasted Lands are all valuable opportunities with extremely high experience rewards. These challenges require skill and teamwork, but the rewards are definitely worthwhile.

Cloth Donation

The quartermasters of each faction in the capital cities are collecting resources in large quantities. Donating 60 Wool Cloth, Silk Cloth, Mageweave Cloth, and Runecloth will not only earn reputation but also extremely generous experience rewards, making it the top choice for players with sufficient resources.

Note that players can donate repeatedly in all four capital cities.

Efficient Route Planning

In WoW Classic 20th Anniversary, an optimized route can make your efforts much more efficient:

Start from the quest cave in Silithus, quickly clear the objectives, and return to Centarion Hold to submit the quests. Next, use Hearthstone or teleportation to quickly travel to Caverns of Time in Tanaris to complete related events or upgrade your AQ ring.

The core step is to use Hearthstone to return to Eastern Kingdoms, head straight to Eastern Plaguelands, and submit all Stratholme-related quests at Light's Hope Chapel.

Then move to Western Plaguelands to complete the remaining Scourge cleanup quests.

Finally, the stages begin: Horde players fly to Tirisfal Glades to gather, while Alliance players head to Chillwind Camp. Finally, warriors from both factions converge in Alterac Mountains to submit battleground quests to their respective Quartermasters, bringing the grand preparations for battle to a successful close.

This comprehensive preparation system is a profound tribute to and masterful utilization of World of Warcraft: Classic 20th Anniversary Edition.

On this momentous 20th anniversary, let us immerse ourselves in the boundless charm of primordial Azeroth. With everything ready, whatever challenges The Burning Crusade may hold, you are fully prepared to seize the initiative and forge a new legend in Outland.

WoW Classic 20th Anniversary Phase 4 Zul’Gurub Raid: What Do You Need To Know?

How are you doing with Phase 3 of WoW Classic 20th Anniversary? Honestly, although the server seems to be releasing new phases at a tight pace, the new content brought by each phase has actually appeared in WoW Classic, so it’s not difficult to prepare for all of these new content.

So if you’ve almost completed Phase 3 raids and quests, and you still want to continue playing WoW 20th, you might as well start preparing for Phase 4 now! After all, opportunities always come to those who are prepared, and knowing the relevant information in advance will put you ahead of your friends at the beginning of the next phase.

Phase 4 is expected to be released in spring 2025. Although the specific date has not yet been announced, based on the first three phases, Phase 4 should meet you around May. The fourth phase is named Rise of the Blood God, and the main new content includes Zul’Gurub Raid and The Dragons of Nightmare world bosses, and this time we will introduce you to the former first.

What Is Zul’Gurub Raid?

This raid is the first 20-player team instance on the original server. Due to its unique catch-up characteristics, a large amount of high-quality loot and a short reset time, it is considered being more friendly to you and your teammates or guild in many aspects, including difficulty and mechanics. If you complete this raid in WoW 20th, you can not only further obtain more WoW Classic 20th Anniversary Gold, but also obtain rare mounts, Swift Razzashi Raptor and Swift Zulian Tiger.

From the perspective of the game’s story background, Zul’Gurub was once the capital of Gurubashi Trolls, but was eventually destroyed by civil war and corruption. Centuries later, Atal’ai Priests return here and try to summon back their evil blood god Hakkar The Soulflayer, and it is up to you and your companions to respond to Zandalar Tribe’s call for help and prevent Blood God from returning.

Zul’Gurub is located northeast of Stranglethorn Vale and east of Lake Nazferiti. It is worth mentioning that the route to here will be different depending on your faction: Alliance players can start from Duskwood to the south, or from Booty Bay to the north; while Horde players are best to start from Grom’gol Base Camp in Stranglethorn Vale.

What Bosses Need To Be Dealt With?

From the background story, we can see that the bosses in Zul’Gurub Raid can be divided into Atal’ai Priests and the final boss Blood God Hakkar. Only by defeating 5 Atal’ai Priests can Hakkar be defeated because they will provide assistance to Hakkar.

  • Aspect of Jeklik (High Priestess Jeklik): Silence all players in the area for 8 seconds while causing about 1500 area damage.
  • Aspect of Venoxis (High Priest Venoxis): Causes about 800 poison damage to you and your team through Corrupted Blood.
  • Aspect of Mar’li (High Priestess Mar’li): Stuns the target with the highest aggro threat for 6 seconds and resets its threat.
  • Aspect of Thekal (High Priest Thekal): Increases the attack speed of the final boss Hakkar by 150%.
  • Aspect of Arlokk (High Priestess Arlokk): Attacks the highest aggro threat member of your raid team for 2 seconds and resets their threat.

Defeating any of the five Atal’ai Priests will give you a chance to earn some of the following loot:

  • Band of Servitude
  • Seal of the Gurubashi Berserker
  • Belt of Untapped Power
  • Blooddrenched Mask
  • Cloak of the Hakkari Worshipers
  • Gloves of the Tormented
  • Might of the Tribe
  • Sacrificial Gauntlets
  • Zulian Headdress
  • Zulian Scepter of Rites

If your team is strong enough, you can also try to defeat some of the optional bosses during the raid, such as Bloodlord Mandokir, Ohgan, Gahz’ranka, Jin’do the Hexxer and the rotating bosses within Edge of Madness, which will give you the best chance of earning extra gold.

What Are Zul’Gurub Reputation Rewards?

Since Zul’Gurub is home to Zandalar Tribe, any reputation you gain here belongs to that tribe, and collecting enough reputation can help you get Zul’Gurub class specific armor sets - contains 2-piece, 3-piece, and 5-piece set bonuses that provide additional attributes and skills based on your class:

  • Druid-Animist’s Caress: +10 Stamina, +10 Intellect, +24 Healing
  • Hunter-Falcon’s Call: +24 Ranged Attack Power, +10 Stamina, +1% Hit
  • Mage-Presence of Sight: +18 Damage/Healing, +1% Spell Hit
  • Paladin-Syncretist’s Sigil: +10 Stamina, +7 Defense, +24 Healing
  • Priest-Prophetic Aura: +10 Stamina, +4 mana/5 sec, +24 Healing
  • Rogue-Death’s Embrace: +28 Attack Power, +1% Dodge
  • Shaman-Vodouisant’s Vigilant Embrace: +15 Intellect, +13 Damage/Healing
  • Warlock-Hoodoo Hex: +10 Stamina, +18 Damage/Healing
  • Warrior-Presence of Might: +10 Stamina, +7 Defense, +15 Shield Block

How To Get Zul’Gurub Reputation?

This reputation can be obtained by killing mobs and bosses in Zul’Gurub, or by completing repeatable and special quests located in the area, such as your class-specific quests and Heart of Hakkar. It is worth noting that the quest center is located on Yojamba Isle in Stranglethorn Vale. Other ways to earn reputation include:

  • Explore Zul’Gurub: Each complete exploration of Zul’Gurub will earn about 2,500-3,000 reputation points.
  • Collect Hakkari Bijous: This item may drop after you kill the enemies in Zul’Gurub. Give it to Vinchaxa on Yojamba Isle to complete the relevant task and get a Zandalar Honor Token that can be exchanged for reputation points.
  • Collect Coins: This method is basically the same as collecting Bijous to exchange for reputation points.

The above is some important information about WoW 20th Anniversary Phase 4 Zul’Gurub raid. I hope it can help you!
