ARC Raiders New Augments in Headwinds | Are Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) and Tactical Mk. 3 (Revival) Worth Using?

ARC Raiders introduced two new augments in Headwinds: Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) and Tactical Mk. 3 (Revival). This article will provide an overview of the basic information and related discussions of these two items for your reference.

Jan 31, 2026 Author: EZG

In January 2026, ARC Raiders received update 1.13.0. Players survived Cold Snap and finally faced new challenges and a journey full of adversity. The development team also brought players many new game mechanics, such as Solo vs. Squads, Trophy Display, and new Bird City map conditions.

This update also brought players a surprise: two new items-Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) and Tactical Mk. 3 (Revival). Among them, Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) was the most anticipated item, while Tactical Mk. 3 (Revival) didn't show much enthusiasm or interest. Will this item update bring a better gaming experience? Let's wait and see!

ARC Raiders New Augments in Headwinds | Are Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) and Tactical Mk.3 (Revival) Worth Using?

Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper)

Basic Introduction

The new Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) sacrifices weight and practicality for a significant improvement in loot functionality. It has a maximum storage weight of 65 and includes 18 loot slots, 4 quick-use slots, and 2 trinket slots.

Players can place any supplies into Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) to better protect acquired ARC Raiders items. Even if a player dies, there's no need to worry about lost or damaged supplies, as this Augment prevents other weapons from entering, greatly protecting the player's supplies.

Acquisition Methods and Equipment Recycling

Players can obtain Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) through two methods: Scavenging or Crafting. To craft this Augment, players need to find its blueprint, collect at least 2 Advanced Electrical Components and 3 Processors, and reach Gear Bench level 3 before crafting can begin. Regarding the disposal of the equipment later in the game, the studio provided an explanation: recycling it at your base will yield 1 Advanced Electrical Component and 1 Processor; salvaging it during a raid to clear your inventory will yield 2 Electrical Components.

Controversy Regarding the Protection Function

Players have differing opinions on the new Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) equipment. While designed to protect important and rare resources, the rarity and importance of resources are highly subjective and require players to make their own judgments during gameplay.

Some players believe that retrieving more important or higher-level equipment from this gear when facing powerful enemies will take longer, adding unnecessary actions to the game, making it tantamount to suicide when fighting raiders. Other players joked that Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) is like having to carry all your supplies in your backside.

Some argue that Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) is crucial for new players lacking blueprints, protecting their loot, enhancing their gameplay, and providing a sense of accomplishment during battles.

However, this new augmentation won't satisfy all players. For experienced players, the new equipment might lead to more mistakes during the adaptation period, making them feel the augmentation is unnecessary-a common issue with almost all game updates. For new players, however, Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) simplifies gameplay, helps protect hard-earned resources, and enhances the overall experience.

Tactical Mk. 3 (Revival)

Equipment Introduction

Furthermore, the new Tactical Mk. 3 (Revival) is more suited for combat. Its basic function is similar to MK.2 Tactical, restoring 1 health point every 5 seconds, with this function pausing for 30 seconds upon taking damage. The biggest difference compared to previous versions is the addition of a built-in defibrillator.

Acquisition Method

Players can actively search for Tactical Mk. 3 (Revival) in the game, but its random drop rate is quite low, so crafting it is highly recommended.

Before crafting this augmentation, you need to prepare the blueprint and collect 2 Advanced Electrical Components and 3 Processors as basic materials, then craft it in Gear Bench 3.

Cooldown Debate

The new augmentation's built-in defibrillator has a 4-minute cooldown after each use, which has sparked heated debate among players.

Some players believe that with the existing defibrillator and better support equipment, this augmentation is redundant and unnecessary. However, in emergency situations, Tactical Mk. 3 (Revival) is essentially equivalent to having an additional defibrillator in your inventory, further increasing the chances of saving teammates and improving the team's overall probability of victory.

Other players believe that Tactical Mk. 3 (Revival) might be more suitable for medic players, and could even spawn a new game mode: Protect Your Medic.

Player Opinions

Currently, player opinions on Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) are highly polarized, with some considering it useless and others praising it as a significant equipment update.

However, opinions on Tactical Mk. 3 (Revival) are overwhelmingly negative. The vast majority of players hold a pessimistic view, considering it the worst equipment update the studio has ever made. However, official information regarding Tactical Mk. 3 (Revival) is not yet complete, and opinions may change after the studio announces the final recovery and salvage results.

Game equipment is constantly evolving, and we eagerly anticipate what unexpected surprises this update will bring to players!
