ARC Raiders Riven Tides: 8 Essential Combat & Survival Tips to Dominate the New PvPvE Extraction Meta

ARC Raiders Riven Tides update introduces new maps and ARC enemies. Mastering movement, positioning, and tools like Jolt Mine bypassing and Door Blockers is critical. This guide will walk you through eight proven combat and survival techniques to outlast both players and ARC legions.

May 08, 2026 Author: EZG Views: 27

Developed by Embark Studios, PvPvE extraction shooter ARC Raiders has quickly swept the globe since its release, thanks to its unique loot-attack-exit loop gameplay and thrilling survival experience. Besides facing the threat of ARC mechanical legions in PvE, you must also be constantly wary of other players with ulterior motives.

In ARC Raiders, to excel in matches, you need not only good equipment but also excellent combat skills. Especially after the recent Riven Tides update, the new map, new mechanics, and new ARC enemies have fueled player enthusiasm and intensified the battles. Against this backdrop, how to gain a more advantageous position in battle and survive has become a hot topic among players.

Next, I will detail eight essential combat and survival techniques summarized from actual combat and multiple player tests:

  1. Bypassing Jolt Mine
  2. Utilizing Zipline
  3. Movement Techniques
  4. Flexible Repositioning
  5. Healing Behind Cover
  6. Concentrating Fire
  7. Using Door Blocker
  8. Feint Attack

ARC Raiders Riven Tides: 8 Essential Combat & Survival Tips to Dominate the New PvPvE Extraction Meta

1. Bypassing Jolt Mine

When you want to sneak deep behind enemy lines, nothing is more frustrating than a sudden alarm. Jolt Mine is precisely the nightmare of countless Raiders. It bounces you up and stuns all targets within range as you approach, instantly incapacitating you.

But have you ever considered that Jolt Mine isn't untouchable? Precise testing of the mine detection mechanism revealed that as long as you approach at an extremely slow speed - the so-called Tap Walk - it won't trigger at all.

This technique is extremely useful when infiltrating ARC patrol areas, allowing you to silently cross minefields without alerting any enemies.

Even more interestingly, after discovering a mine, you can steadily move forward by continuously pushing the joystick or keyboard. This action is not only ideal for stealth in the early game of ARC Raiders, but also allows you to seize a fatal positional advantage before the enemy pushes the lane.

2. Utilizing Ziplines

Instead of expending stamina walking across the map, you can use ziplines for rapid movement.

Ziplines are an efficient movement tool on many ARC Raiders maps, and true veterans know how to use them to gain a tactical advantage in ambushes.

You need to sprint to the zipline point, then jump and press Hold key, pause briefly in mid-air, and then perform a second jump. This "sprint-jump-double grab" sequence not only maximizes your movement speed but also has a crucial tactical value - significantly reducing the probability of being targeted by the enemy.

When traversing open areas at high speed, your character will change direction and rhythm in mid-air, which drastically reduces enemy player's aim accuracy. By combining this with terrain corners, you can even use this rushing approach to pull off a stunning comeback, leaving the enemy no time to react before you're already close in and ready to fire.

3. Movement Techniques

Besides using items to reposition and turn the tide of battle, skillful movement techniques can also give you an advantage.

Based on movement tests in ARC Raiders, sliding does not use up stamina - in fact, you can regain stamina while sliding. Rolling is a key move for evading damage. However, what really enhances this technique is chaining sliding and rolling together.

The technique works like this: Slide out from behind cover, use the slide to lower your position and fire your first shot, then instantly roll back in the opposite direction to re-conceal. Alternatively, when facing intense enemy pressure, slide directly towards the enemy's position, fire while rolling to one side to break their auto-aiming assist.

This unpredictable movement will cause the enemy to lose sight of you in their confused aiming, instantly turning the tide of battle for you.

4. Flexible Positioning

In PvP battles, besides the hit-and-run tactic, some players prefer to occupy a favorable position and wait for their prey. However, never stay in one spot for too long, repeatedly peeking out. This seemingly simple point often becomes the dividing line between skilled ARC Raiders and cannon fodder.

Whether you're on a second-floor platform, around a doorway, or through a barn window, as long as your fixed headline is exposed, experienced enemies will use bullet drop and headshot pre-aiming to eliminate you instantly.

The correct approach is to fire one shot, then move to a different location. First, fire from a high vantage point to create a line of fire, forcing the enemy to take cover; then quickly use sliding or rolling to move to a lower or flanking position, striking precisely from an unexpected angle.

Always remember: constantly changing your firing position and height, ensuring the enemy misses every time they aim, is the key to surviving in a hail of bullets.

5. Heal Behind Cover

Besides the precautions mentioned above, another common mistake ARC Raiders players make is panickingwhen hit and rushing to heal in any corner. This is extremely dangerous. If the opponent is skilled, a single grenade can easily kill you if you're hiding in a corner.

Therefore, when hit and injured, immediately find suitable cover. Hiding behind cover allows you to escape the enemy's line of sight, and you can move and change position along the cover while healing. When you feel you've recovered enough health to fight again, try to counterattack. A successful hit will slow them down, buying you more time to heal and potentially turning the tide of battle.

6. Focus Fire

Don't forget, you don't have to fight alone.

ARC Raiders encourages three-person teamwork, and the golden rule for winning team battles is simple: in a three-on-three encounter, quickly mark and focus fire to eliminate one enemy.

Teammates are advised to coordinate a coordinated fire, focusing all firepower on the first marked target. After quickly eliminating the opponent and rendering them combat-effective, the battle becomes a 3v2, allowing you to use your numerical advantage to eliminate the remaining enemies.

Simultaneously, after eliminating an enemy, the team should not rush to loot their supplies; someone must remain to hold off their backs and flanks. Remember, in high-ranking matches, there is gunfire from a third party every second.

7. Using Door Blocker

Aside from the heat of battle, the most anxiety-inducing part of ARC Raiders is getting ambushed by a "third party" right after a fight.

For this, Door Blocker is undoubtedly an S-tier item, especially on maps like Stella Montis that require frequent combat.

Door Blocker can block large metal doors. After capturing and looting a building, locking the door provides crucial audible warning - a noticeable noise when the enemy attempts to force a breach, giving you and your teammates a few seconds of tactical window.

If your team doesn't have any Door Blockers, you can get a similar result by stacking several Barricade Kits. For instance, arrange two barricades in a V-shape at the doorway to fully obstruct the enemy's view. Under normal circumstances, opponents will have to destroy both barricades before they can engage you, giving you plenty of time to heal and restore your abilities.

8. Feint Attack

Besides these survival rules, there are also some psychological tactics to induce opponents to make mistakes that are worth learning.

For example, when you are trapped in a tower on the second floor, and the enemy is holding a position on the first floor, you can use ARC Raiders Snap Hook to create sound and movement patterns towards other terrain in the distance (such as the roof of the neighboring building), making nearby enemies think you are trying to escape through a window, luring them to rush upstairs. Then you can set up a position and wait for them.

This kind of surprise attack strategy often gives you the upper hand in psychological warfare.

Even if this method is discovered and all enemies come to capture you, you can still use Snap Hook to move across areas. Its coverage area is enormous, and it allows you to instantly ascend to higher ground.

Snap Hook is a very advantageous piece of equipment in actual combat, greatly improving your mobility. However, its blueprint requires you to wait for Electromagnetic Storm Event to trigger and then loot it in Dam Battlegrounds, but as everyone knows, competition among players at that time is extremely fierce. Of course, you can also directly buy ARC Raiders Snap Hook Blueprint from EZG.com, which saves you a lot of time and effort searching and is also safer.

Besides focusing on combat and survival skills, another noteworthy new element is ARC Turbine, which appears in Riven Tides map update. Though this large hovering machine appears silent and non-threatening most of the time, once activated, it unleashes a cascade of shock mines and homing electromagnetic strikes.

The developers specifically emphasize: when engaging Turbine in close combat, be sure to slow down and plan your escape route in advance. Meanwhile, Patch 1.27.0 just optimized the visibility and sound alerts of Turbine mines, ensuring you can detect threats earlier.

In general, techniques are just the beginning; true improvement comes from real combat. No one can perfectly master all the above techniques on day one; failure and setbacks are normal in the brutal mechanics of ARC Raiders.

But remember: only through continuous practice, getting back up after being knocked down time and time again, you could truly understand this survival logic. Hopefully, these seven survival rules will give you more confidence on your journey.
