Nearly a year after launch, ARC Raiders still draws very different reactions. 

Veteran players often point to repetitive endgame content, cheating, and technical issues, while newcomers continue to enjoy learning the maps, gathering gear, and building their Workshop.

With Frozen Trail launching on October 8 as the game’s biggest update yet, the question is simple: should new players start now or wait?

Enough Content for New Players?

For players entering Rust Belt for the first time, there is little reason to worry about running out of things to do early on.

Learning maps, extraction routes, ARC types, loot values, and the risks of losing gear takes time, while Quests, Workshops, Blueprints, Crafting, and Stashes provide a steady stream of short-term goals.

As you learn the value and utility of different ARC Raiders items, early raids naturally develop clear objectives: hunting for quest items, upgrading your Workshop, tracking down missing Blueprints, or exploring areas you previously avoided.

If you have played extraction shooters, the basics of scavenging, extracting, and gear loss will feel familiar. Players without prior experience can still ease into the game, as early quests provide useful guidance.

How Does Progression Work?

In ARC Raiders, progression is driven by Quests, Workshops, Blueprints, gear accumulation, and longer-term systems such as Expeditions. Early-game momentum is fairly strong, as new crafting options, gear sources, and resource routes regularly change what you want to accomplish in subsequent raids.

However, Expedition system is currently in transition. Expedition 5 runs from September 8 to September 29, and the developers have confirmed it will be the final Expedition until early 2027. The system will then enter a hiatus while the team reworks areas such as rewards, entry requirements, and Departure Window.

Update 1.45.0, released on September 8, also changed how Expeditions affect quest progress. Quests no longer reset by default, and players can instead choose whether to restart them when initiating a Departure

As a result, long-term progression should not be viewed exactly as it was a few months ago. New players can still advance through Workshops, quests, Blueprints, and gear accumulation, but Expeditions will soon pause while Frozen Trail expands Outposts, Skill Tree, and other progression systems.

Is ARC Raiders Good for PvE Players?

Yes, though PvP is always a possibility.

The developers have clarified that ARC Raiders does not have a true PvE-only lobby. Matchmaking considers how players have previously interacted with other Raiders and attempts to group similar playstyles together, but those tendencies exist on a spectrum. Friendly encounters are never guaranteed.

Since July, Solo, Duo, and Trio playstyles have also been tracked separately. A normally friendly Solo player, for example, will not have that behavior heavily affected by aggressive PvP when playing with friends.

PvE-focused players can therefore spend most of their time looting, completing quests, exploring, collecting ARC Raiders items, and fighting ARC units. However, extraction points, quest zones, and high-value resource areas can become dangerous without warning, and the intentions of other Raiders remain unpredictable.

If you simply prefer not to initiate fights, there is still plenty of room to play that way. If you want absolutely no risk of being attacked by other players, ARC Raiders currently cannot offer that experience.

What Is PvP Like?

PvP in ARC Raiders is defined largely by unpredictability. You might be ambushed in a resource zone, pulled into a sudden fight just before extraction, or simply keep your distance from strangers while pursuing separate objectives. Solo and squad play also create different pressure.

Recent community discussions still contain complaints about cheaters, item duplication, and PvP balance. These concerns are worth knowing about before buying, although forum reports cannot accurately represent how frequently the average player will encounter them, especially across different regions and matchmaking conditions.

The developers completed the full rollout of Denuvo Anti-Cheat on June 30 and reported positive early results in July while continuing to improve hardware and software detection and machine-learning input telemetry. Separately, Playstyle Matchmaking is still being adjusted to better handle different group sizes and gameplay preferences.

PvP therefore remains an important part of the game, but it feels closer to a high-risk PvPvE raid built around uncertainty and information gaps than a conventional competitive shooter match.

Why Does Endgame Feel Repetitive?

The early and mid-game phases of ARC Raiders rely heavily on external objectives. Players need to learn maps, complete quests, upgrade their Workshop, find Blueprints, and establish reliable sources of resources and gear. Before those goals are completed, repeated raids usually still have a clear purpose.

As playtime increases, those objectives gradually disappear. Maps become familiar, important Blueprints are collected, Workshop and Stash stabilize, and common ARC Raiders items and resources become easier to replace. At that point, Raid Loop itself has to carry more of the motivation to keep playing.

This helps explain why high-hour players talk more often about endgame repetition. Some report feeling burned out after roughly 400 hours, while others step away after around 200 hours and plan to return once major updates arrive.

Comments about the game becoming repetitive after hundreds of hours therefore reflect a long-term retention problem more than the experience of a new player. Newcomers still have maps, progression systems, and the gear economy to learn; veterans are judging whether the endgame can continue offering meaningful goals once most of that progression is complete.

For players who enjoy extraction shooter Raid Loops, looting, resource management, exploration, and the tension of gear loss and unpredictable PvP, ARC Raiders still offers plenty to experience right now. New players will spend far more time dealing with maps, quests, and progression than with the endgame issues most often discussed by long-term players.

If you only want pure PvE, strongly dislike unexpected PvP, or are mainly interested in long-term endgame progression, waiting for Frozen Trail may make more sense. October 8 is close, and the new map and progression changes should provide a clearer picture of how the game’s long-term structure is evolving.

The next major update for ARC Raiders, titled Frozen Trail, is set to launch on October 8. Ahead of the official release, Embark Studios will host a Frozen Trail First Look on September 23, showcasing what the developers have described as the game's largest update since launch.

A short teaser released on September 18 revealed little about the gameplay, showing only a glimpse of what appears to be a massive ARC machine.

With the launch date approaching, several key details about Frozen Trail remain under wraps, including the actual layout of the new map, the mechanics of ARC Operations, and how Outpost and Skill Tree systems will affect late-game progression.

Frozen Trail First Look Time

Frozen Trail First Look will premiere on the official ARC Raiders video channel on September 23 at 10 AM PDT / 1 PM EDT / 7 PM CEST - roughly two weeks before the official October 8 update.

While the event is billed as an early glimpse, the developers have not yet announced the runtime or confirmed whether there will be a full gameplay demonstration. Consequently, it is reasonable to expect a more comprehensive showcase than September 18 teaser, offering deeper insight into core systems that were previously only revealed in concept.

A New Update Schedule

The significance of Frozen Trail is also tied to ARC Raiders' shift in update strategy this year.

Embark originally planned for monthly updates, but the development team found that short production cycles limited their ability to implement major system overhauls. 

As a result, they shifted to a schedule featuring two Major Updates per year, while maintaining operations through Live Updates, events, balance adjustments, and bug fixes in the interim.

Frozen Trail is the first major release under this new model. When the plan was announced in May, it already included the new map, ARC Operations, new progression systems, Skill Tree adjustments, and advancements in ARC lore.

The Largest ARC Raiders Map

The new map will probably take center stage during First Look.

Embark has confirmed that the area introduced in Frozen Trail will be the largest map in ARC Raiders to date.

Located in the mountains at the edge of Rust Belt, the map features abandoned villages, factories, research facilities, and an observatory, while emphasizing verticality, exploration routes, and threats found both above and below ground.

Therefore, the key focus for the First Look isn't just the map's physical size, but how the newly added spaces transform exploration and combat.

Factors such as significant changes in elevation - which could affect ambush spots, lines of sight, and extraction routes - and the potential for underground areas to create new networks of movement could alter the scavenging rhythm players are accustomed to.

For players focused primarily on resource gathering, First Look is also an opportunity to see if the new area introduces fresh ARC Raiders items, high-value loot locations, or special drops.

The map also serves to advance the game's narrative. Developers have explicitly listed Exploring the origin of ARC as a core component of Frozen Trail, inviting players to investigate exactly what ARC are and where they come from.

The story of this new region begins with an anomalous signal, prompting Raiders to cross the mountains into previously unexplored territory.

This implies that environmental elements - such as research facilities, the observatory, and other elements connected to the anomalous signal - may be directly linked to the investigation into ARC's origins.

The Massive New ARC

The most striking feature of September 18th teaser was a glimpse of a massive ARC unit that has yet to be fully revealed.

ARC Raiders team has confirmed that Frozen Trail will introduce various new ARC types, ranging from small, agile machines designed to disrupt players to a colossal mechanical entity capable of stopping a Raider in their tracks. These new enemies are designed to challenge players' established habits regarding movement, combat, and tactical responses.

It remains unclear whether the massive ARC shown in the teaser is a standard map enemy, part of a special event, or directly tied to an ARC Operation.

If the full model, attack patterns, or actual gameplay encounters are revealed on September 23rd, players will be better able to gauge its role in Frozen Trail and determine whether facing such a massive ARC requires cooperative play or entirely new tactics.

High-Level ARC Operations

Frozen Trail will also introduce new, high-level ARC Operations. 

Described by the developers as enormous in scale, these operations are aimed at experienced Raiders and are built around dynamic encounters, teamwork, risk assessment, and the pressure of survival. 

Embark has even described them as some of the most intense experiences ARC Raiders has offered to date.

Many details remain unconfirmed: how to access them, whether solo play is an option, the consequences of failure, whether they feature a unique reward loop, and how they relate to the new map and ARC units - all of which await further announcement.

In particular, whether ARC Operations offer exclusive ARC Raiders items or other high-tier rewards could directly influence players' motivation to repeatedly tackle these challenges.

Outpost and Skill Tree Changes

Frozen Trail will also continue to expand the scope for long-term Raider progression.

Beyond the existing Raider Den, players will gain access to a new space - Outpost - where they can decorate the space, research what they discover in the world, and pursue long-term goals centered on reclaiming the surface.

Embark will adjust Skill Tree to offer more development options for different Raider builds, while also continuing to refine Raider Decks.

How effectively these changes integrate with the new map and ARC Operations to create a stable gameplay loop will directly affect the endgame experience in Frozen Trail.

If discoveries, research findings, and high-level activities can consistently feed back into Outpost development and character progression, players will have new avenues for advancement even after hitting the current Skill Point cap.

The extent to which specific ARC Raiders items factor into Outpost research, upgrades, or other long-term objectives is another aspect of this progression system that may require further clarification.

Level 5 Weapons

Current weapon upgrades in ARC Raiders already boost stats like reload speed, recoil, and fire rate, though the benefits vary by firearm.

If Level 5 merely offers incremental gains in accuracy, reload speed, or recoil control, its impact on the existing system will be limited.

As the new upgrade cap, it is more likely to introduce significant performance breakthroughs - such as unlocking new attachment compatibility, enhancing specific firing characteristics, or even synergizing with Weapon Augments.

Community members have reported briefly seeing a Level 5 upgrade option for Anvil in the past, though the upgrade could not be completed. While this doesn't confirm the final design, it provides some context for the rumors.

Raising the upgrade cap also creates balancing challenges. If max-level weapons gain a substantial performance edge, low-level guns scavenged during raids will struggle to compete with fully ARC Raiders upgraded items, and the cost of losing a Level 5 weapon upon death will increase significantly.

Augment Changes

Full-Auto Augment is arguably the most impactful feature revealed in recent ARC Raiders leaks.

If a semi-auto weapon can be converted to full-auto via an Augment, its firing cadence, ammo consumption, suppression capabilities, and optimal engagement range would all shift; weapons that previously relied on precise, single shots might find new utility in close-to-mid-range combat.

This suggests that Weapon Augments may move beyond simple stat boosts to directly define a weapon's role. The base weapon sets the starting point, while upgrade levels and Augments further shape the final combat style.

This aligns with the direction Embark has already confirmed. Official announcements have confirmed that Frozen Trail will introduce new ways to customize weapons.

Details regarding which firearms will support Full-Auto Augment and whether there are significant trade-offs involved have yet to be officially revealed.

Scope Expansion

While scopes on any weapon sounds like a radical change, a more likely implementation is an expansion of optic compatibility rather than allowing every sight to be mounted on every weapon without limitation.

If more SMGs, semi-auto weapons, and other close-to-mid-range firearms gain access to new sight options, ARC Raiders players will be able to more proactively adjust their weapons for specific engagement ranges.

This could also boost the value of attachment loot. A weapon with average base stats could become a highly effective, fully realized build with the right scope, magazine, and augment; consequently, currently underutilized weapons might find a new niche.

AP Ammo

Frozen Trail is confirmed to introduce new ARCs - including massive mechanical enemies - and a large-scale ARC Operation designed for experienced players.

Official descriptions indicate that this content will place greater emphasis on combat, cooperation, and risk management. Introducing armor-piercing rounds makes perfect sense in this context.

AP ammo offers a specific counter to heavily armored targets, making ammunition choice a key factor in loadout planning.

Standard ammo can be used for routine exploration and low-cost skirmishes, while AP rounds are reserved for heavily armored ARCs or high-risk zones; players must weigh mission objectives against ammunition costs before embarking on a raid.

If AP ammo also affects PvP encounters, its economic value will rise further. As ammo becomes scarcer, players will need to carefully balance the quantity they carry against the potential loss upon death.

High-End Gear Gap

An extended magazine alone is unlikely to shift the meta, but when combined with Level 5 upgrades, new scopes, ammo types, and augments, a high-investment weapon could feature multiple layers of customization - including upgrade levels, magazines, sights, functional augments, and specialized ammunition.

This would bring weapons closer to complete builds, thereby increasing the importance of Workshop and pre-raid preparation.

The potential issue lies in the widening disparity between ARC Raiders items. Community members have already expressed concerns that existing weapon upgrade systems exacerbate the gap between low-level looted weapons and high-level, fully kitted ones. 

If Frozen Trail raises the progression cap, Embark may also need to adjust crafting costs, attachment drop rates, blueprint acquisition, and the supply of high-tier items to prevent the advantages of high-investment equipment from scaling too rapidly.

Meta Shake-Up

If the leaked details prove accurate, Frozen Trail will probably force ARC Raiders players to re-evaluate a wide range of weapons.

Raising the progression cap to Level 5, introducing augments that alter firing mechanics, adding scopes that extend engagement ranges, and implementing AP ammo for targeted effectiveness and extended magazines for sustained fire - all these changes will have an impact. 

Meanwhile, the addition of a new map, new ARC types, new ARC Raiders items, and high-level ARC Operations has already been officially confirmed.

Consequently, the weapons, attachments, and PvP loadouts currently considered best-in-class may not remain viable come October; conversely, firearms that currently underperform could find new potential through Level 5 upgrades or new augment configurations.

Of course, specific details - such as Level 5 cap, armor-piercing rounds, and full-auto augments - have not yet been officially confirmed by ARC Raiders team. However, Embark has clearly stated that Frozen Trail will expand the game's weapon systems and customization options.

If these systems all launch simultaneously, the impact will extend far beyond mere weapon power levels; everything from progression paths and attachment combinations to ammunition strategy could see the existing weapon meta completely overhauled after October 8.

ARC Raiders Expedition 5 is now underway. Running from September 8 to September 29, this Expedition window has been extended by a week compared to previous ones, and Last Call phase has been removed. Following this event, the system will be paused for adjustments until early 2027.

Expedition 5 introduces the ability for players to retain quest progress, though weapon, crafting, and resource progression will still reset. For PvE players, Vault offers only five slots; how you allocate them will directly impact your early-game momentum after the reset.

Survivor Augments, Jupiter, and Blueprints are all common choices; the specific items you bring depend on which aspect of progression you intend to prioritize immediately after the reset.

Blueprint Priority

For a smoother start after ARC Raiders Expedition 5 reset, Blueprints are usually a better use of Vault slots than finished ARC Raiders items.

While finished weapons and Augments provide an immediate boost to combat effectiveness, they can be lost if a raid fails. Blueprints, however, allow you to craft the corresponding gear again once relearned.

Recent community discussions show many players favoring Blueprints; top candidates include Survivor, Anvil, Heavy Gun Parts, Snaphook, Silencer II, and Seeker Grenade.

There is no single best set of five items. The choice depends on how difficult the item is to reacquire, whether it is useful in the early game, and how frequently you plan to craft it later on.

Survivor Augment

Survivor Augment is an item that often presents a dilemma for ARC Raiders PvE players

Resources are limited in the early post-reset phase and crafting benches aren't yet restored; bringing a Survivor Augment in advance can make those initial raids much easier. Even without Blueprint, a finished Augment can tide you over until you find the recipe again.

The risk is that a finished item can be lost at any time - especially if taken out alongside high-value weapons - meaning a single failed raid could cost you significant early-game resources.

Therefore, if you already possess Survivor Augment Blueprint, it is better to prioritize bringing Blueprint itself.

For Expedition 5, permanent crafting access may matter more than one strong opening run.

If you lack Blueprints, a finished Survivor Augment is a better choice for players who are familiar with the routes and have a consistent track record of successful extractions. 

Should You Bring Jupiter?

If you regularly take down large ARCs like Queen or Matriarch, bringing a Jupiter right after the reset allows you to resume high-tier ARC farming earlier in Expedition 5.

However, Jupiter occupies a ARC Raiders Vault slot, and there is always a risk of losing the finished weapon. If your blueprints, crafting bench, and economic cycle haven't been restored yet, the utility of a single high-tier weapon is somewhat limited.

Therefore, Jupiter is better suited for players with a regular squad who are familiar with Queen or Matriarch routes and already possess most core blueprints. Solo players planning to prioritize upgrading their bench, stockpiling materials, and rebuilding their economy might find blueprints more practical.

Three PvE Vault Setups

When organizing your ARC Raiders Expedition 5 Vault, you don't need to fill all five slots based solely on high monetary value. After a reset, bottlenecks often arise from missing blueprints, bench upgrades, or materials.

For a safer approach, use Safe Rebuild Setup: include Survivor Augment, Seeker Grenade, Snaphook, and Silencer II blueprints, leaving one flex slot for Heavy Gun Parts, weapon blueprints, or other frequently used recipes.

To get back to Queen or Matriarch farming quickly, use Large ARC Farming Setup: include two or three key blueprints and a Jupiter (or another large ARC weapon), filling the remaining slots with Survivor Augments, tools, or additional blueprints.

If you prioritize bench upgrades and economic recovery, use Fast Economy Setup: keep one to three essential blueprints and dedicate the remaining slots to early-game materials and capital for your economic cycle.

You don't have to copy these setups exactly. Some players might lack Survivor Augment, others might reliably acquire Snaphooks, and some might target Queen immediately after the reset; how you allocate your Vault slots depends on your specific strategy.

What to Leave Behind

You can exclude common ARC Raiders items that is easily repurchased or farmed. There is no need to keep high-tier guns you rarely use just because they have a high sell price; similarly, you can deprioritize blueprints that are easily reacquired or seldom utilized.

You must also consider the risk of losing finished weapons and augments upon death. Bringing multiple high-value finished items for your first raid often concentrates your risk too heavily.

ARC Raiders Expedition 5 launches globally on September 29; this marks the final round before the system goes on hiatus until early 2027. You can retain your quest progress, but the crafting, resource, and loadout loops will still need to be rebuilt.

If you want to play it safe, hold onto blueprints for your go-to gear; if you want to get back to farming Queens or Matriarchs as soon as possible, make sure to save slots for Jupiter-class or other heavy ARC weapons.

The priority isn't how powerful you are in the very first run, but minimizing the grind for materials and blueprints so you can quickly resume your standard PvE routine.

ARC Raiders Expedition 5 ends on September 29. 100K Damage Challenge may sound like a large number, but it is not particularly difficult to complete. As long as you keep attacking ARC enemies and accumulate enough damage, you can steadily make progress.

Expedition damage does not require a successful extraction to count. Even if you go down during a raid, the damage you have already dealt will not be wasted. When farming this challenge, you can confidently use high-damage weapons, ammunition, and explosives from your inventory without worrying too much about losing equipment.

Weapon

Hullcracker is a common choice for farming Expedition 5 damage. You can exchange for one each day at a cost of around 30K. For players without Legendary Weapons who still want consistent damage output, Hullcracker is sufficient to complete ARC Raiders challenge.

When comparing raw damage, Jupiter is usually stronger. Against large ARC enemies with their armor intact, Hullcracker’s actual damage is not ideal unless you can consistently hit their thinner Weak Points. Jupiter, on the other hand, can bypass armor. Although it has a lower fire rate, it performs better during the armor phase and allows you to maintain a safer distance.

A practical ARC Raiders strategy is to attack from a distance with Jupiter first. Once Body Armor is broken and core is exposed, move closer and use Hullcracker to deal damage. After reaching Level 4, Hullcracker can deal significantly more damage to exposed cores.

If you do not have Jupiter, that does not prevent you from farming damage. You can wait until other players break the armor of a large ARC, then use Hullcracker to attack its core. Alternatively, focusing your fire on other enemies, such as Bombardiers and Bastions, can also provide substantial damage.

Wolfpacks, Deadline, and Seeker Nades can also help you in ARC Raiders. Wolfpacks are suitable for attacking certain large ARC enemies or Vaporizers during Close Scrutiny. Deadline is better suited for burst damage after a core is exposed. If you have already accumulated ammunition and explosives in your inventory, Expedition 5 is a good opportunity to put them to use.

In addition, ARC Raiders Update 1.45.0 reduced Aphelion’s weapon sway, improving its aiming stability. With strong Strong ARC Armor Penetration, this weapon is suitable for continuously attacking armor and weak points at medium range, making it another option for farming damage.

Keep in mind that Aphelion uses a 2-round burst and has a 10-round magazine. During extended fights, you need to pay attention to ammunition consumption and your reload timing.

Matriarch

Matriarch is another major source of ARC Raiders damage. A common strategy is to use Snap Hook to reach the top of Matriarch, destroy the top panel first, find an exposed area, and then use Deadline against core.

ARC Raiders Update 1.45.0 fixed a bug affecting Matriarch. Previously, Matriarch’s Stomp could sometimes deal damage through tall cover, and players standing on top of Matriarch could even be affected by the attack.

This fix improves the margin for error, but you still need to pay attention to Boss’s attack animations when dealing damage at close range. Do not completely let your guard down simply because you are standing on top of Matriarch or behind cover. 

Ideally, two players should work together to handle one Matriarch. This makes it easier to coordinate positioning and damage timing, as well as extract together after the fight.

Queen

ARC Raiders Queen Events are also an effective way to accumulate Expedition 5 damage. Queen is large and tends to move within a relatively concentrated area, allowing you to deal considerable damage in a short period by continuously using Hullcracker alongside explosives.

Spaceport is a suitable location for farming Queen. Other players may arrive at Spaceport Queen Event later, giving you a chance to attack Queen early with less competition and accumulate more damage.

However, Queen Events can also attract other ARC Raiders squads, especially in areas such as Dam, where ambushes and rats can increase the risk. Entering the event area with a team improves your chances of survival and allows you to cover each other if other players get involved.

Preparation

When continuously using Hullcracker, Wolfpacks, Deadline, and Seeker Nades, the biggest expenses are Ammo, Shield Chargers, and the materials required to craft these ARC Raiders items. Ammunition can run out quickly, especially when farming Matriarch or Queen events for several hours.

Before you start farming, check materials such as ARC alloy, motion cores, and crude explosives in your stash. There is no need to craft all your available materials into ammunition at once. Bringing enough supplies for a few raids and then deciding whether to craft more based on what remains is usually a better way to control your spending.

When materials run low, you can pause large ARC farming and play one or two regular ARC Raiders Raids to replenish your resources. Regular raids allow you to collect ammo, shield chargers, and other consumables, while also giving you opportunities to obtain crafting materials such as ARC alloy and motion cores.

Matriarch and Queen may also provide relevant resources. During ARC Raiders battles, pay attention not only to Boss but also to drops from targets such as Bastions and Bombardiers. This allows you to progress toward your damage goal while replenishing materials for the next round.

ARC Raiders Expedition 5 100K Damage Challenge can be completed steadily before Expedition ends by continuously dealing damage during large ARC events such as Matriarch and Queen, while managing your weapons, ammunition, and materials efficiently.

With Frozen Trail update approaching, the existing reward system in ARC Raiders is set for a significant overhaul.

Officials have confirmed that Cred will be officially retired from the game; existing balances remain valid until October 8. Once Frozen Trail update goes live, any unspent Cred in accounts will expire, so players currently hoarding large amounts should plan how to use it soon.

Raider Decks are being reworked and replaced by a new, more comprehensive reward system.

Cred is a currency earned through standard gameplay in ARC, currently used primarily with Shani and Raider Decks.

Players can spend Cred to get ARC Raiders items from Shani or to unlock various Tiles within Raider Decks.

The rewards found in these decks are diverse, ranging from cosmetics and standard items to Raider Tokens. For long-term players, Cred essentially functions as a progression resource that is continuously accumulated and spent.

Since Cred will soon be retired alongside the launch of Frozen Trail, it no longer holds long-term value for hoarding. Strategies where players might have saved Cred to spend on future decks or reward updates are no longer applicable.

Earning Cred Before the Cutoff

During Topside event, players earn 1 Cred for every 2,000 XP gained. Additionally, completing Feats in ARC Raiders also awards Cred. Consequently, Cred accumulates naturally as long as you play regularly, complete challenges, and gain experience.

There is currently a soft cap of 800 Cred. Once a player's balance falls below 800, standard gameplay will not allow them to build the balance back up above that limit.

However, if a player already held more than 800 Cred prior to the rule changes, the excess amount is retained - though they cannot earn any additional Cred moving forward.

Given that the currency is being discontinued on October 8, there is little point in treating Cred as an asset to be hoarded long-term. A more sensible approach for the coming weeks is to spend it as quickly as you earn it.

Choose Rewards First, Then Clear the Balance

Raider Deck Rewards Are Staying

This is likely the question most players care about most. Since Raider Decks are being reworked, does that mean rewards currently unlocked - or not yet unlocked - will become unavailable later?

According to official ARC statements, existing Raider Deck rewards will appear in the new reward system. Rewards already claimed before the update will be retained; they won't be revoked just because the old system is ending.

Therefore, there is no need to frantically unlock everything just because of Raider Deck rework.

Where to Spend Your Remaining Cred?

The simplest approach is to check your current Raider Deck before deciding whether to spend your remaining Cred with Shani.

First, prioritize unlocking the specific Raider Deck rewards you really want. It usually makes sense to keep investing in ARC Raiders items that are close to completion - such as cosmetics, Raider Tokens, or other high-value content that requires only a few more tiles to unlock.

Second, if nothing in your current deck particularly appeals to you, consider spending your surplus Cred with Shani.

Finally, as October 8 approaches, don't agonize over finding the optimal way to spend. If you have a small amount of Cred left - say, 20, 30, or 50 - and no perfect use for it, it is still better to spend it.

Since this currency is being retired, converting your balance into actual ARC Raiders items is more valuable than simply letting the number reset to zero.

Grinding Cred Is No Longer the Goal

At this stage, there is no actual need to grind XP solely to stockpile Cred, though Cred earned through normal gameplay is still worth using.

If you already plan to complete Feats, grind XP, or play ARC Raiders as part of your routine, there is no harm in continuing to earn Cred - just spend it promptly once you have it.

If you are just a small amount of Cred away from a specific Raider Deck reward you really want, you might choose to grind a bit more XP to secure that item.

However, there is little point in grinding just to build your balance back up to around 800 in anticipation of future updates.

Frozen Trail Marks a Reward System Reset

The retirement of Cred is just one part of the adjustments being made to Frozen Trail reward system. Officials have confirmed that Raider Decks will be reworked and a larger-scale reward system will be introduced.

Since existing Raider Deck rewards will be incorporated into the new system, this adjustment appears to be a comprehensive overhaul of the long-term reward progression. Players will have to wait for further official details regarding how rewards will be earned, the progression pace, and the specific mechanics of the new system.

There is no need to speculate on the currency the new system will use, nor is it advisable to hoard Cred based on unknown mechanics. Only one practical course of action is confirmed: spend your existing balance before the deadline and plan your resources according to the new rules once Frozen Trail goes live.

Before Frozen Trail launches, ARC Raiders players should simply prioritize securing the desired Raider Deck rewards and then spend any remaining Cred at Shani's shop. Since Cred will not carry over to the new system, the most important thing is to avoid letting your balance expire after October 8.
