ARC Raiders Solo vs. Squads Guide: 20% XP Bonus, High-Risk Loot Strategy, and Veteran Tips

ARC Raiders' Solo vs. Squads mode grants a 20% XP bonus, encouraging high-risk solo play against full teams. This guide will break down stealthy looting routes, key loot spots, and survival tactics for veteran players.

In ARC Raiders' Rust Belt, cooperation and plundering form the core gameplay loop, but a high-risk, high-reward playstyle is attracting a growing number of veteran players: Solo vs. Squads.

Added to Solo vs. Squads matchmaking option in January 27, 2026 update, this mode features a special compensation mechanism: players who choose this mode receive a 20% bonus experience point at the end of the match, regardless of whether they successfully extract or are killed.

Therefore, this mode has become a reason for some players to risk it for experience and loot.

With Riven Tides and Expedition updates, now is the perfect time to play Solo vs. Squads. Therefore, this site will use the most representative map, Stella Montis, as an example, and based on testing, provide a detailed Solo vs. Squads strategy for players interested in this mode.ARC Raiders Solo vs. Squads Guide: 20% XP Bonus, High-Risk Loot Strategy, and Veteran Tips

Overall Strategy

Solo vs. Squads wasn't originally designed for beginners. It aims to test ARC Raiders players' map knowledge and solo combat skills, essentially a survival strategy revolving around three phases: survival, accumulating resources, and looting.

Therefore, your first rule of action is to avoid unnecessary battles in the early and mid-game. Instead of engaging in fierce firefights in popular areas, choose a completely opposite route.

First, farm the safest locations that offer substantial experience points, then patiently wait for the battle to end, and finally, carefully loot the corpses and high-value supplies during the final stages before extracting.

For example, in Stella Montis, a clean and efficient solo strategy can yield at least 117,000 worth of supplies, 3 high-value blueprints, 30 batteries, and 66,000 experience points in a single looting and extraction.

After ARC Raiders Riven Tides update, the value of loot in all locked rooms on the map has increased, with the increase proportional to the rarity of the key. This means that entering locked rooms with a keycard in Solo vs. Squads will yield substantial rewards.

Phase One - Starting Choices

Based on the overall strategy described above, it's best to avoid popular areas in the early game. Seed Vault is a good option; it doesn't force you into combat early on and provides a stable experience and decent resource base. Even without your ARC Raiders Items, you can still obtain a basic set of gear here.

Several containers in Seed Vault have a high probability of dropping valuable items and deserve your attention: Breachable Containers, which have a chance to drop Exodus Modules and valuable items; and Electrical Containers, which have a chance to spawn blueprints.

Exodus Modules are extremely rare epic materials in the game. These are essential for crafting advanced blueprints (such as Tempest and Hullcracker). Stella Montis map has the most Exodus area markers in the entire game, and playing under Night Raid conditions further increases the spawn rate of Exodus Modules.

Phase Two - Accumulating Loot

As combat gradually unfolds in core areas like Assembly, Medical Research, and Lobby, you can safely move towards Sandbox. This area is characterized by a high battery density.

In a complete Solo vs. Squads run, you can easily accumulate at least 30 batteries, which are extremely valuable for equipment repair and module crafting.

Sandbox also contains Augment containers that can spawn rare Augment blueprints. It's worth noting that Embark has continuously introduced new Augments in updates like Shrouded Sky and Riven Tides, including tactical modules like ARC Raiders Tactical Mk.3 (Smoke), and plans broader balance adjustments for Augments in the future.

Phase Three - Clearing the Area

This is the core loot phase of the entire solo strategy. With most squads already worn down or eliminated by ARC machines in the early fights, you should use stealth and terrain information to return to key areas like Assembly Workshops, Medical Research, and Lobby.

Here you can perform several key actions: loot enemy squad corpses to unlock a large amount of experience; loot any unclaimed supply containers; and check overlooked locked rooms. This phase is more attractive than ever since Patch 1.22.0 increased the value of supplies in locked rooms.

Also, search for ARC Raiders Frequency Modulation Box, a rare item that spawns only in specific blue and white containers on Stella Montis map, specifically in Assembly Workshops, Lobby, and Medical Research.

After clearing these areas, you'll have a considerable amount of loot and experience. Remember to quickly find an extraction point and leave in the last ten minutes of the match, otherwise, you might lose more than you gain.

Recommended Equipment and Setup

In Solo vs. Squads, don't try to enter unarmed, relying solely on tactical skills. Sometimes, key equipment and setups can save your life or allow you to acquire more loot. Here's a recommended list:

  • Primary Weapon: A stable mid-range weapon is recommended, even better with a suppressor.
  • Secondary Weapon: Burst-damage weapons like shotguns can be used to handle emergencies after being discovered in the first or second phase.
  • Throwables: Smoke grenades are practically essential. They not only aid in movement during the second phase but also prevent enemies from entering rooms while you're looting, buying you time to escape.
  • Traps: Pop Trigger can be placed in narrow corridors and doorways. They can be used to lure enemies into trap areas or serve as alarms to warn of approaching enemies.
  • Medical Supplies: Injuries are inevitable in combat. Therefore, in addition to combat gear, you'll need basic medkits to restore health and Shield Rechargers to quickly restore shield value.
  • Backpack: It is recommended to carry a medium or larger backpack, as the loot you acquire using this strategy will be enough to fill it.
  • Keys: After Riven Tides update, for locked rooms on the map, the higher the level of ARC Raiders Key used to open the room, the higher the level of loot inside. Therefore, consider carrying Assembly Admin Key, etc.

The addition of Beachcombing map conditions and a batch of new ARC Raiders Items in Riven Tides update, including Powered Descender, Crash Mat, White Flag, and Dockmaster's Detector, provides players with more tactical options in different maps and map conditions.

Solo vs. Squads is undoubtedly one of the most challenging gameplay modes in ARC Raiders, but for veteran players seeking high rewards and the ultimate experience, the immersion and sense of accomplishment it brings are unparalleled.

With this guide in hand, next time you enter the game, choose Solo vs. Squads and experience the immense sense of accomplishment from solo adventures and obtaining rich loot rewards.
