CoD: Black Ops 7 Zombies' Totenreich map drags players into a frozen Norwegian village corrupted by Dark Aether. Wield the Jotunn Star, battle Necropincer elites, survive frost rounds,. This guide will reveal all main quest rewards and survival strategies.

Apr 29, 2026 Author: EZG

A fishing village on Norway's frigid coastline, utterly transformed by the forbidden experiments of 935 and the power of Dark Aether - it is both the birthplace of nuclear fire and the new nightmare players are about to enter.

CoD Black Ops 7 Season 3 Reloaded! Zombie Mode Totenreich map is confirmed to launch on April 30th (Eastern Time), with the main storyline opening simultaneously.

This article will systematically introduce this highly anticipated new map and its gameplay, covering its background, Wonder Weapons, special enemies, map-exclusive killstreak rewards, battlefield upgrades, special turn mechanics, and main storyline rewards.CoD: Black Ops 7 Zombies Totenreich Map Guide: Jotunn Star Wonder Weapon, Necropincer Enemy, Glock Drop Killstreak & Main Quest Rewards

Map Background and Setting: A Legacy Frozen in Time

Totenreich is set in a Norwegian fishing village frozen in time, where the power of Dark Aether permeates every corner.

After 935 Group's failed experiment, the village was dragged into Dark Aether - and it was here that the nuclear fire was first ignited, tearing the experimental base and Origins Robots apart from the real world and plunging them into the alternate void.

Unlike recent original maps, Totenreich's world-building directly addresses the oldest roots of Zombie Mode. The map is explicitly and deeply connected to Edward Richthofen, 935 Group, and Giant Robots of Origins map in CoD Black Ops 2.

Frost Giant appearing in the opening cinematic is none other than Shadowsmith, who is tied to this location - the final boss fight in the main quest of this map will most likely be against this Frost Giant.

The map also includes multiple ziplines connecting different areas, and the entire scene incorporates various terrains such as docks, rooftops, slopes, open coastlines, and narrow interiors, creating a varied and challenging environment that presents new challenges for players with movement skills.

Wonder Weapons: Jotunn Star

Jotunn Star is a unique Wonder Weapon exclusive to this map. It's both an ancient lantern and a wide-range melee weapon, unlike any other Wonder Weapon before it.

Forged in an era when Odin ruled the skies and giants trod the earth, this weapon boasts four distinct attack methods, each usable five times consecutively to unleash a more powerful ultimate form. It also creates a psionic zone upon impact.

Four Main Attack Methods

  • Lantern Swing: Swing forward with the blunt end of the weapon to instantly knock down zombies. This is Jotunn Star's standard melee attack, usable without requiring a charge.
  • Flame Charge: The lantern absorbs Essence from defeated zombies, storing energy within it. This stored energy is not only a resource for attack but also crucial for survival in certain rounds - it can directly provide warmth to players or teammates.
  • Flame Tendril: When two or more fully charged lanterns are used simultaneously, burning ropes connect them, slowly draining the health of those in their path.
  • Flame Strik: When the lantern is fully charged, it releases a high-energy fireball, dealing significant damage to zombies within range and igniting them.

Overall, the design of Jotunn Star is somewhat reminiscent of the four melee Wonder Weapons in WWII Nazi Zombies saga: Frozen Dawn, but it has more depth in both its forging background and combat mechanics.

Special Enemy: Necropincer

Necropincer is a brand-new elite enemy in Totenreich and one of the most visually striking enemy designs we've seen in Zombies mode.

In terms of lore, Necropincer was originally summoned by people who believed in ancient laws, later further modified by 935 Group, eventually evolving into the form we see today. It rises from the cold sea in a form similar to Norse Draugr, guarding this cursed island.

Combat characteristics include

  • Ranged Threat: Wields a trident that can be thrown at players at a distance.
  • Melee Suppression: Necropincer possesses a massive crab claw on its left arm, capable of blocking incoming bullets and launching powerful strikes and heavy blows with its pincers.
  • Best Strategy: Judging from the combat footage shown in the trailer, mid-range attacks are the best way to quickly defeat Necropincer - avoiding melee control while also dodging the ranged threat of its thrown trident.

Similar to a mimic or abomination, Necropincer spawns every few rounds. Teams must be mindful of holstering their weapons and repositioning, prioritizing focused fire to reduce its armor.

Map-Exclusive Killstreak Reward: Glock Drop

Glock Drop, kept secret by Treyarch, is an exclusive killstreak reward for Totenreich map. Specific details have not been revealed in the official blog or common promotional materials.

In the trailer, the character Takio holds up a device marked 935, and the screen immediately displays Glock Drop Available.

Pressing the button instantly unleashes a massive bell-shaped device that continuously burns zombies, simultaneously lifting them into the air as if surrounded by an anti-gravld, allowing for the tactical elimination of large numbers of zombies at once.

The trailer also hides an even bigger Easter egg: moments later, the scene behind Weaver appears - the numerous attack effects are identical to those released during G-level attacks in Origins map.

This likely means players can launch rockets from dormant Origins Giant Robots around the map, possibly a regional trap mechanic.

Battlefield Upgrade: Wildfire

Wildfire is Totenreich's new battlefield upgrade, perfectly matching the map's ice and fire theme. Activating it releases a fire pulse that engulfs and damages nearby zombies, while slightly increasing player movement speed. In addition to the default effects, Wildfire has a rich system of enhancements:

Main Enhancement Effects

  • Fireball: During the upgrade's activation, player attacks will have a fireball effect.
  • Firestorm: Activating it releases a fire tornado that instantly eliminates zombies caught in it.
  • Free Radical: During Wildfire activation, attacks will occasionally leave fire pits on the ground, causing continuous area damage.
  • Flashover: From the first activation, every three Wildfire pulses will deal significantly increased damage over a larger area.

Secondary Enhancements

  • Oxidize: Extends the duration of Wildfire.
  • Backdraft: Knocks down nearby zombies and stuns larger enemies when activated.
  • Molten Core: Enemies take more damage the closer they are.
  • Heat Surge: Provides further speed boosts during Wildfire activation.

This battlefield upgrade, combined with the map's cold mechanics, creates an interesting firepower counter-strategy-activating Wildfire during intense escape attempts provides both area-clearing damage and a brief speed boost, suitable for players using a high-wave speedrun strategy.

Special Rounds and Frost Zombies: Countering Extreme Weather

Totenreich's special rounds are unlike any we've encountered before. During these rounds, a new type of zombie - Frost Zombies - emerges from the fog, attacking players in hordes.

Meanwhile, extreme weather spells will completely freeze specific areas of the map, filling the air with a chill. The sudden drop in temperature will affect player movement speed and vision, gradually freezing their line of sight.

There are only two ways to break free from the freezing effect:

1. Go indoors: Moving indoors will allow you to warm up naturally.

2. Utilize the heat from Jotunn Star: The heat from being trapped in Jotunn Star lantern is the only active way to remain active during a frozen round. Therefore, Wonder Weapons are not only a combat tool but also a survival tool during special rounds.

Another new element that synergize with special rounds is Flamenfalle. This three-headed hydra flamethrower trap can only be activated after the map's main energy source is activated.

Once activated, the trap creates a heat zone, protecting players from the cold effects, while also passively charging Jotunn Star's flame energy within the heat zone - any weapon has a chance to trigger Napalm Burst Ammo Mod when near Flamenfalle. This is both an efficient visual trap and a versatile tactical tool.

Classic Weapon Returns: MP40

Totenreich has been confirmed to welcome the first returning classic weapon for CoD Black Ops 7 Season 3 Zombie Mode - MP40. This weapon is exclusive to Totenreich map and can only be obtained through Mystery Box.

MP40 is an Ultra Rarity weapon by default in Classic Mode, marking the first time a weapon outside of Cursed Mode has reached this rarity level. All future returning classic weapons, including MP40, will follow the same rules: extremely rare and obtainable only from Mystery Box.

However, their stats are comparable to Wonder Weapons, meaning that MP40 obtained by players in Totenreich could potentially be even more powerful than Wonder Weapon Jotunn Star - undoubtedly a key breakthrough for speedrunning teams on the new map.

Enhanced Weapon Builds and New Camouflages

Totenreich continues the classic tradition of CoD Black Ops 7 Zombie Mode - Pack-a-Punch returns for the third consecutive map. The trailer clearly showcases Primary Weapon 1 and 2, while the official blog further reveals the visual effects of all three Primary Weapon Camos:

  • Bygone Camo
  • Glyph Camo
  • Galactic Camo

These three are dynamic camouflages, displaying flowing light and shadow effects during combat when equipped. Given MP40's extreme rarity, its camouflage effects are expected to be even more spectacular.

Generally, obtaining camouflages requires unlocking them layer by layer by completing kill missions in different modes, each with varying requirements, which will inevitably be time-consuming.

Therefore, you can also choose to directly buy CoD: Black Ops 7 Bot Lobbies from EZG.com. In Bot Lobbies, you can upgrade your MP40 and have a chance to obtain suitable camouflages, which can greatly enhance the weapon's strength and visual appeal.

Main Missions and Rewards

Totenreich's main missions will be available simultaneously with the map release. According to confirmed information, players will receive the following rewards upon completing the main mission:

  • Ambitious Richtofen Special Forces Skin
  • Calling Cards
  • 10,000 XP

This seems to confirm that Richtofen will undergo some kind of rebirth or transformation in Totenreich. Before the official release, the specific unlocking method for Glock Drop and the mystery surrounding the second unconfirmed Giant Robots killstreak reward on the map remain to be discovered by players upon logging in.

Survival Tips

  • Early Game Phase: Prioritize collecting points in early waves to unlock key paths - it is recommended to shoot zombies twice with a pistol and then finish them off with a knife. Each zombie can yield up to 170 points. Also, remember to repair windows to earn extra points.
  • Jotunn Star Priority: When encountering a frozen special round, be sure to prioritize activating Jotunn Star's flame charge and stay active within the hot zone. Otherwise, the extremely low movement speed and frozen vision will quickly wipe out the squad.
  • Dealing with Necropincers: Maintain mid-range engagements, avoiding close-range attacks from the claws or being hit by trident throws from too far away; focus team fire.
  • Glock Drop Timing: This map's killstreak reward is best used in densely packed defensive scenarios - for example, reviving teammates or during the initial push phase before activating Primary Weapon. After using it, quickly generate zombie Essence to replenish the reward.
  • Wildfire Combinations: During Wildfire's activation, combining it with Molten Core and Heat Surge buffs allows enemies to be continuously burned before they get close, suitable for high-wave push strategies; for a more conservative survival approach, prioritize Oxidize and Backdraft combination.

CoD Black Ops 7 Season 3 Totenreich update is coming soon, and some players are already eager to fight the zombie horde, but don't forget to read this Totenreich combat guide first.

CoD Black Ops 7 Season 5 Finally Feels Fresh: New Maps, Modes and Zombies Map Breakdown

Black Ops 7 Season 5 officially launched on July 23rd, bringing three brand-new maps and two new modes to multiplayer. The first map is a brand-new 6v6 medium map, while the other two are remastered versions of classic maps. The two new modes are Overdrive Domination and Gauntlet Rush.

Simultaneously, the player-favorite Zombies mode has also added a new map called Ediskallen Lighthouse.

These new additions will bring players a unique gaming experience. This article will provide a detailed explanation of the new maps and modes in Black Ops 7 Season 5, helping you better enjoy the game. Let's take a look.

Two New Modes

CoD BO7 Season 5 adds two new multiplayer modes, as follows:

Overdrive Domination

This mode is currently available alongside the new season, integrating the objective-oriented mechanics of Domination mode into the tense and exciting Overdrive mode.

Players need to capture, hold, and defend marked objectives on the map while earning stars, which can enhance their abilities. Players can earn stars by completing the following tasks:

  • Complete a Basic Elimination - 1 star
  • Complete Core Medal Eliminations - 2 stars
  • Complete Distinguished Medal Eliminations - 3 stars

Collecting a certain number of stars unlocks corresponding abilities. 1 star unlocks Cognition Uplink, improving perception and helping you quickly locate your next target;

3 stars unlock Hyper Speed, increasing your movement speed and helping your approach enemies faster; 6 stars unlock Ballistic Overdrive, improving weapon handling and helping you eliminate enemies more quickly.

Activating Ballistic Overdrive doubles the number of stars a player can earn. However, note that stars are reset upon death or prolonged inactivity. Therefore, avoid frequent deaths or AFK (away from keyboard) during gameplay.

Gauntlet Rush

Gauntlet Rush is a new mode added in CoD: Black Ops 7 Season 5. This fast-paced, highly exciting mode is suitable for players who enjoy constant combat and objective-grabbing.

In Gauntlet Rush mode, Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Domination, Hardpoint, and Roulette will rotate randomly every two minutes on the same map. The more kills and objectives a player completes, the stronger the buffs they receive, such as faster movement speed, faster weapon switching speed, and higher headshot damage.

A progress bar for the next buff will be displayed in the lower left corner of the player's HUD. If the player fails to engage an enemy or target, the progress bar will decrease.

In addition, buff stacks will randomly appear on the map. Acquiring them can significantly increase the score, helping players quickly unlock powerful killstreak rewards.

Three New Maps

Three new multiplayer maps have been added to Black Ops 7 Season 5. Details are as follows:

Jubilee (New, 6v6, medium-sized)

Jubilee is modeled after a Japanese rural town, including the front yard of Imperial Palace Museum, a temporary festival area, a pinball machine room for close-quarters combat, and a beautifully landscaped outer garden.

This map supports both close-quarters and long-range gunfights. It features three routes with multiple points where players can quickly switch between them.

The main route runs through the center of the map, facilitating long-range engagements, with scattered vehicles providing the only cover. The side routes are better suited for close-quarters combat, as the streets are narrower and numerous buildings offer cover.

Strategic players can choose to flank other players on the main route while they are engaged in fierce fighting, thus securing victory.

Frequency (Remaster, 6v6, Medium-Sized)

Frequency in Black Ops 7 Season 5 is a remake of BO4 Frequency map. Located in the mountainous region of Hunan, this map combines outdoor combat with interior areas such as monitoring rooms, server rooms, and maintenance tunnels, delivering intense and thrilling close-quarters firefights. In the game's setting, it's a global surveillance system, giving it a very sophisticated feel.

Skilled wall-jumping will allow you to easily traverse Catwalk and Piper areas on the edge of Frequency map. The central area of the map offers a wide field of vision, making encounters common in the circular passageways.

Dig (Remaster, 6v6, Small-Sized)

Dig map, previously featured in BO2, has been remastered for CoD BO7 Season 5, transporting players to an archaeological excavation site in Avalon.

Black Ops 7's movement system is significantly improved compared to BO2, promising an excellent exploration experience. On this map, players will fight through narrow passages and winding routes, eventually reaching open areas.

Notably, Dig map uses a rectangular layout, ideal for close-to-mid-range gunfights and ambushes.

Zombie Mode Map

Zombie mode has always been very popular in CoD BO7, and the addition of this new map has delighted players.

This map is a brand new survival map called Edskallen Lighthouse. It comprises a small section of Totenreich, Bacon Island, and its lighthouse. Players must survive hordes of ever-growing zombies, whose strength increases with each round.

Players receive rewards for surviving a certain number of rounds: 10 rounds grants Valhallan Animated Emblem and 1,000 XP; 25 rounds grants Eidskallen's Light Weapon Charm and 2,500 XP; and 50 rounds grants Gift Card GobbleGum and 5,000 XP.

This concludes our guide on the new maps and modes added to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Many more new features and gameplay elements await you. What are you waiting for? Start playing now!

We hope you enjoyed this guide and wish you victory in the game.

CoD Black Ops 7 Season 5 New Weapons May Bring Fresh Meta Changes

CoD Black Ops 7 & Warzone Season 5 will receive a major weapon update on July 23rd at 9 AM (Pacific Time). The new weapons for this season are FG42 Assault Rifle, Gremlin SMG, Mammoth LMG, and Macemelee weapon.

Based on currently available information, Season 5's weapon design philosophy is very clear:

FG42 expands mid-range rifle competitiveness, Gremlin enhances high-speed close-quarters combat, Mammoth provides heavy firepower suppression, and Macemelee satisfies players' demand for a unique melee weapon.

FG42 Assault Rifle

FG42 is one of the most anticipated new guns in Season 5. As a Battle Pass weapon, it features a fully automatic firing mode and is positioned for mid-to-long-range combat.

BO7's official specifications include excellent damage, a high rate of fire, and low recoil. However, based on actual testing, this gun's core advantage is its stability. If Season 5 continues to emphasize mid-range gunfights, FG42 is likely to become a top contender among Assault Rifles

This weapon features a side-mounted magazine and front and rear iron sights, providing good visibility. Its muzzle recovery is fast, and its crosshair returns to center quickly during continuous fire, maintaining good accuracy even against long-range targets.

Compared to some Assault Rifles that emphasize burst damage, FG42 is more of a reliable weapon. Players don't need to frequently switch between burst fire; as long as they control the muzzle well, they can suppress enemies with sustained firepower.

Of course, this gun also has its weaknesses. FG42 has a slight firing delay, and its weapon handling is relatively slow. In close-quarters combat, reaction time will be a significant issue when facing SMGs or highly mobile weapons.

FG42's exclusive Prestige Attachment MFS Ambilateral Stock further enhances its firepower. After installation, the weapon's rate of fire will be significantly increased, while horizontal recoil will be almost eliminated, allowing sustained damage output to reach a new level.

However, this attachment sacrifices some handling. Increased vertical recoil will reduce aiming speed and movement ability. Personally, I think this attachment might become one of the core gameplay elements of FG42.

Gremlin SMG

Gremlin SMG is the unique weapon in CoD BO7 Season 5. It's an SMG system, its biggest feature being speed. Players wield an SMG in each hand, allowing them to quickly approach targets using high-speed movement and unleash terrifying damage at close range.

Gremlin's single-shot damage isn't outstanding, but it boasts excellent hip-fire accuracy for its class. For players who enjoy rushing, flanking, and quick breakthroughs, this gun offers a very comfortable combat rhythm.

Its gameplay is very clear: gain engagement distance through speed.

Gremlins are extremely powerful in confined areas, inside buildings, and in close-quarters combat. Players can utilize their mobility to constantly change position, making it difficult for enemies to aim steadily.

However, this gun also has significant limitations. Because it cannot use traditional aiming-down-scope (ADS) fire, its mid-to-long-range combat capabilities are affected. Against players holding positions or long-range rifles, Gremlin lacks effective counter-attack methods.

Equipping 9" MFS Cestus Barrel gives the weapon better performance in short-range engagements. This attachment increases melee attack damage while also improving movement speed.

This design perfectly suits Gremlin's character. While it may not become standard equipment for professional players, it's likely to be one of the most entertaining weapons in regular matches.

Mammoth LMG

Mammoth LMG will be available as an event reward during Season 5. This LMG features a dual-barrel design, its biggest strength being its firepower. It boasts extremely high sustained damage and maintains good stability during prolonged firing.

Mammoth is better suited for battlefield control. CoD BO7 players can use it to continuously suppress enemy positions, creating space for their teammates to advance.

However, Mammoth's LMG issues remain. Its low movement speed and slow response time make it less effective in fast-paced close-quarters combat.

Its exclusive Prestige Attachment 14-inch MFS Cascade Barrel This attachment directly addresses this issue. It eliminates the weapon's warm-up delay before firing, increases aiming movement speed, and improves bullet spread and recoil performance.

Reducing the start-up time is crucial for LMG. Many players previously abandoned LMG due to its slow reaction time after aiming. If Cascade Barrel performs well it could increase Mammoth's pick rate.

However, it still requires proper pairing. Attachments that increase mobility will improve its performance in combat; otherwise, the gun will still be limited by its movement speed.

Mace Heavy Hammer

Mace is a melee weapon introduced in Season 5. This weapon has a very direct and bold design - a large, heavy hammer. Players need to get close to enemies to attack. Mace will be obtained through weekly challenges during the season and has its own camouflage upgrade path.

From a CoD BO7 competitive perspective, Mace is unlikely to become a mainstream choice, but it offers a completely different gameplay experience. For players who enjoy close-range kills and collecting weapon camouflages, this type of special weapon has always been attractive.

CoD series has always retained various special melee weapons, the addition of Mace in Season 5 continues this tradition.

For BO7 players who enjoy researching weapons and seeking competitive advantage, Season 5 is definitely worth paying attention to. The true weapon rankings will be reshuffled after players enter the battlefield for testing.

Call of Duty BO7 Season 5 Battle Pass Is Insane - Spectre Returns and New Weapons Revealed

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 5 will officially launch on July 23rd at 9:00 AM PST, bringing a wealth of content. As before, Season 5 Battle Pass will also be released simultaneously.

Although it hasn't officially launched yet, the official information already includes a significant amount of Season 5 Battle Pass content, including various rewards.

This article will provide a detailed overview of the currently known content of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 5 Battle Pass.

Battle Pass Tiers and Price

Season 5 Battle Pass system will continue the page-based progression system introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Players can earn Battle Pass Tokens through normal gameplay to level up their Battle Pass.

There are several ways to participate in Battle Pass. You can choose to participate for free.

Free Battle Pass includes summer rewards and two new weapons. You can unlock tier rewards in numerical order through gameplay, but this version does not provide Battle Pass Tokens.

You can unlock Base Battle Pass for 1,100 COD Points, which immediately unlocks Instant Rewards page, over 100 rewards, and a 10% Battle Pass XP boost.

BlackCell is the highest tier of Battle Pass, priced at 2,400 COD Points. It includes all content from Base Battle Pass, exclusive BlackCell Operator skins and weapon blueprints, an additional 1,100 COD Points, and an exclusive BlackCell Instant Rewards page.

Key Operators: Spectre and Cipher

The key Operator for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 5 Battle Pass is a familiar face: Spectre from Black Ops 3 and 4, returning as a featured Operator.

Spectre is described as a mysterious ghost, a Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) agent whose existence is only confirmed through scattered intelligence reports and untraceable assassinations.

For players who choose the premium BlackCell bundle, the exclusive Operator named Cipher is the marquee attraction. Cipher is the product of a secret budget project that merges death row inmates with advanced combat subsystems to create a soldier with superhuman reflexes.

Rewards

One of the most appealing aspects of Battle Pass is that it offers both a quick sense of accomplishment and the ultimate reward.

Instant Rewards

Upon obtaining CoD Bo7 Season 5 Battle Pass, you will immediately receive the following:

  • A 10% Battle Pass XP Boost
  • Spectre Operator Skin for the new Spectre Operator (BlackCell owners get a variant)
  • Dawn Shred Legendary Blueprint for Voyak KT-3 Assault Rifle
  • Swift Talent Emote
  • Make an Entrance Animated Calling Card

Completion Rewards

Players who complete the entire Battle Pass will receive the following rewards:

  • Viscera Ultra Operator Skin for Spectre (BlackCell owners get a variant)
  • Fission Core Legendary Blueprint for Carbon 57 SMG
  • 200 COD Points
  • Thousand Cuts Animated Calling Card
  • Strive Animated Emblem
  • One Gift Card Ultra GobbleGum

New Weapons

In addition to the above rewards, two new weapons have been added. I know this is the part many players have been most looking forward to. Let's take a look.

FG42 Assault Rifle

This weapon is unlocked on page 3 of Battle Pass. It comes with a 30-round magazine and is a powerful choice for mid-range engagements. Its greatest strength is its excellent stability; even in continuous fire, it maintains good aim control and doesn't rely too heavily on single shots.

In addition, FG42 boasts excellent single-shot damage and a decent rate of fire, making it a power-oriented weapon among assault rifles. Compared to ARs that rely on high rate of fire, FG42 emphasizes the quality of each bullet.

In mid-range engagements, it can quickly reduce enemy health, making it particularly suitable for controlling main lines of fire and suppressing enemies.

Gremlin SMG

Gremlin SMG can be unlocked on page 6. This unique submachine gun can be dual-wielded, bringing a fast-paced and aggressive playstyle to close-quarters combat.

The core advantages of this weapon are its high mobility and rapid firepower. Compared to assault rifles that rely on range and stability, Gremlin is better suited for actively seeking out combat, using its speed, rate of fire, and close-quarters burst damage to suppress enemies. It's a high-risk, high-reward submachine gun.

Currently, we don't know how powerful these two weapons are. If you're interested, you can buy CoD Black Ops 7 Bot Lobbies from EZG.com to test and upgrade them after season 5 launches.

Is Battle Pass Worth?

The value of Black Ops 7 Season 05 Battle Pass depends primarily on your investment in the new weapons, Operator skins, weapon blueprints, and season content. The biggest attraction of this season's Battle Pass is that the two new weapons can be obtained through a free route; BlackCell is more focused on collection and reward expansions.

For players who play every season, Battle Pass is a worthwhile long-term investment. As for BlackCell, it's not a necessity; whether to acquire it depends on your budget and needs.

This concludes our article on Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Season 5 Battle Pass. Season 5 will be a milestone for CoD Bo7, and Battle Pass is the gateway to the most exciting content.

Two brand-new weapons, the return of Spectre, and a plethora of cosmetic items will ensure players have a fantastic time when the season launches on July 23rd. Let's look forward to it!

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 5: Is Spectre’s Return Enough to Bring Back Classic Black Ops Gameplay?

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 5 will officially launch on July 23rd. The most anticipated content is undoubtedly the return of the classic Operator Spectre, along with the addition of several new weapons and classic maps. The storyline is also one of the biggest points of contention in Season 5.

Based on the information released so far, Season 5 seems to be attempting to connect the old and new Black Ops eras. Many players are hoping this update can bring back the more compact and fast-paced multiplayer experience of the early Black Ops series.

Next, EZG will guide you through the new gameplay experience that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 5 brings, combining new content with nostalgic classic elements.

Operator

Official promotional images for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 show that the free-agent assassin Spectre will be a key character in Season 5. For veteran CoD players, this character is no stranger, having enjoyed immense popularity in Black Ops 3 and Black Ops 4.

Spectre's iconic mechanical bladed arm reappears. He had a ripper specialist ability in Black Ops 3 and a sword in Black Ops 4, so we can look forward to seeing how the developers will cleverly utilize Spectre.

Many players are speculating whether the development team will introduce a completely new melee combat style. While CoD Bo7 already featured Katana-like weapons, Spectre's return still leaves much to the imagination. Whether it's a special execution move or unique skill mechanics, it could be one highlight of Season 5.

Weapons

Another major focus of Season 5 is the new weapon wielded by the new character. Judging from CoD Bo7 promotional images and the new character's adaptability, it resembles a submachine gun, but the official name hasn't been revealed yet. CoD community has already begun various speculations.

This weapon appears to be largely based on Zip .22, but significantly larger. The magazine is positioned much further back than on a real gun, but the shape of the magazine and the overall front-to-back silhouette match. Some believe it might be a futuristic version of MP5K, while others speculate it's the return of Damon submachine gun from CoD Black Ops 4.

In addition, the promotional image also shows a new weapon that appears to be a light machine gun. The stock, handguard, and cartridge deflector are roughly the same shape as FG-42, with the charging handle located below the ejection port and partially embedded in handguard, and the trigger group located directly below it.

This weapon looks like the one used in Avatar: The Way of Water, and some players speculate it might be the classic Tiger Shark or MK48 series. Once Season 5 is officially released, players will undoubtedly engage in extensive testing regarding damage, rate of fire, and attachment combinations. You can also choose to buy CoD Black Ops 7 Bot Lobbies from EZG.com to practice.

Maps

Classic maps Frequency, Arsenal, and Dig are all likely to return in CoD Bo7. Veteran players will be familiar with these maps; Frequency and Arsenal are from Black Ops 4, while Dig is a classic DLC map from Black Ops 2. Frequency is a classic CoD three-lane map, centered on a secret listening base.

The map is compact, with closely connected indoor passages and a central area, leading to frequent player encounters. This map emphasizes fast movement, close-quarters gunfights, and route breakthroughs, making SMGs and shotguns stand out, suitable for players who enjoy high-intensity combat.

Arsenal offers a wider combat area and more firing positions, requiring a deeper understanding of the map and strategic positioning. Dig uses a traditional three-lane structure with significant elevation differences and a central contested area. Located within Avalon area, Dig could potentially be redesigned as a CoD Bo7 6v6 multiplayer map.

Story

The main story of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 actually concluded with Season 4, meaning the developers completed the overall narrative structure ahead of schedule. This implies that Season 5 of Bo7 may not continue Endgame storyline. Even if an opening cinematic exists, it's more like a trailer for Battle Pass and Spectre than a true story chapter.

This arrangement has disappointed many players. Black Ops timeline is inherently complex; Bo4's timeline even takes place after Bo7, and the end of Season 4 connects to Bo3 through Coalescence Corporation, making the entire Black Ops series' storyline extremely intricate.

The thirty-year time span between the previously undefined past and future in Bo2 has led many players to wonder if this season update will fill in the gaps in the existing storyline, preventing the series' timeline from becoming even more confusing.

Black Ops series has immense potential for story expansion, much of which remains unexplained. Bo7 possesses rich narrative potential, including Karma technology, the cloning program, and Blackout storyline.

These elements could have been further expanded upon in Season 5. However, while the official CoD team introduced entirely new characters and villains, they didn't fully utilize existing lore, leaving several important plot points unresolved.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Season 7 Season 5 has already generated considerable buzz. The return of the classic character Spectre, the addition of new weapons, and the redesign of classic maps all contribute to the fifth season's appeal. Whether this content can compensate for the premature end of the story remains to be seen after the update officially launches on July 23rd.

CoD: Black Ops 7 Season 5 Release Date Leaks, Zombies Map, Battle Pass and Major Update Predictions

According to leaks, CoD: Black Ops 7 Season 5 will launch between late July and early August.

This is based on the fact that Season 04 will last for two months and the official release date of the new Call of Duty series game, Modern Warfare 4, confirmed for October 23rd. Combined with the in-game Battle Pass timer, a more precise estimate is around July 23rd.

Based on the content of CoD: Black Ops 7 Season 04 and Season 04 Reloaded, Season 5 will likely continue to focus on Endgame content and Zombies storyline.

This is very likely the last full season of Black Ops 7, and Season 5 will be a significant milestone, with even more content than before.

Multiplayer Mode

CoD: Black Ops 7 Season 04 already featured five new maps, and Season 5 is expected to continue this trend, potentially adding new 6v6 maps with environments such as cities, secret military bases, and Dark Aether contaminated zone.

This reflects player feedback after experiencing Season 04; they are eagerly anticipating a new multiplayer map.

Treyarch leaked in a developer interview during CoD: Black Ops 7 Season 3 that Arsenal and Frequency maps would return in future seasons, but these weren't seen in Season 04. Since Season 5 might be the last season, these two maps are highly likely to reappear.

Battle Pass

CoD: Black Ops 7 Season 5's Battle Pass is expected to continue focusing on new Operators, weapon blueprints, special skins, and season-exclusive rewards.

Based on previous season update patterns, Season 5 Battle Pass will likely include new character content, allowing players to unlock new Operators, weapon skins, finishing moves, name cards, and other personalized rewards by leveling up their season rank.

If Season 5 is the final season of Black Ops 7, then the story should end with Season 5. However, strangely, the story ends with Season 04, meaning there won't be any new story content afterward.

Therefore, the special forces members in Season 5's Battle Pass are very likely not characters from the main story, but rather unrelated original characters or crossover characters.

Some community players have expressed a desire for future crossover content to better align with the military atmosphere of Black Ops series, avoiding excessive entertainment that could negatively impact the overall game style.

Weapons

Since the weapon codenames were leaked in April, leaks about CoD: Black Ops 7 have become increasingly rare, which is a good thing, meaning that Season 5's official release will bring more surprises.

Some of the previously leaked weapons have already appeared in Season 04. It's predictable that the remaining weapons will probably all appear in Season 5, but there's no guarantee they'll be exactly the same in terms of settings and appearance as in the leaks. The developers will probably make minor adjustments.

The game's arsenal may include classic weapons such as AN-94, older Black Ops weapons, and new melee weapons.

The anticipation for new weapons is always a key sentiment for players before the launch of each season. However, when you first unlock a new weapon, your proficiency with it is insufficient to immediately enter the battlefield. For example, in Zombies map, Wonder Weapon is ineffective against powerful enemies when your level is too low.

Therefore, besides using weapons in actual combat as much as possible, you can also buy CoD Black Ops 7 Bot Lobbies from EZG.com. Completing challenges there not only improves weapon level and proficiency but also grants more kills and victories, making it safer and faster than actual combat.

As is customary in balance adjustments, weapon changes may focus on AR damage in Multiplayer mode, SMG range variations, and weapon restrictions in Ranked Play. Zombies will primarily focus on balancing Wonder Weapons and adjusting high-round-based weapons.

Zombies Map

This is also the most anticipated aspect of CoD: Black Ops 7 Season 5. Following the release of KowakuJō Zombies in Season 4 Reloaded, traditional turn-based zombie gameplay has once again become the focus of community attention.

Therefore, many players hope that Season 5 will continue to release large-scale Zombies content, rather than just maintaining popularity through limited-time events or small-scale gameplay.

If Season 5 adds a new Round-Based Zombies map, it is expected to bring entirely new areas to explore, including cities not yet corrupted by Dark Aether, military facilities, or more mysterious alternate dimensions.

The new map may continue KowakuJō's design direction, enhancing the exploration experience through complex map structures, hidden areas, and interactive mechanics, while adding new special enemies and boss battles to increase the replayability of high-round challenges.

In terms of story, Season 5 may continue to advance Dark Aether storyline. KowakuJō revolves around Shadowsmith, Cursed Castle, and the power of Dark Aether, leaving several foreshadowing elements for future plot developments.

Therefore, the new map may include new Main Quest Easter eggs, allowing players to further understand the characters' fates, hostile forces, and the development of Dark Aether universe.

Currently, what Zombies community is most looking forward to is not just a new map, but also endgame rewards similar to those in past large-scale Zombies updates.

Some players hope that Season 5 will include a cross-map Super Easter Egg, allowing players to unlock special rewards by completing Main Quests across multiple maps, such as limited-edition weapons, hidden character skins, or permanent power-ups.

If this type of system returns, Season 5 could become a significant turning point in Black Ops 7 Zombies' lifecycle, marking the rise of traditional turn-based gameplay.

Endgame Content

In Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 04, Endgame mode gradually became an important late-game gameplay element with the addition of new quest lines like Operation Wall Breaker and Operation King Killer.

Compared to traditional multiplayer and Zombies modes, Endgame focuses more on long-term challenges and character progression, providing players with goals for continued gameplay through quest progression, skill upgrades, and special rewards.

With the addition of new skill paths, new ability systems, and higher difficulty challenges, Endgame is gradually evolving from an additional gameplay element into a crucial endgame content element of Black Ops 7.

The official announcement confirms that Free Trial will continue until the end of Season 5. Therefore, it's expected that new content will be added to the endgame, including new Operation missions, bosses, equipment, and more endgame rewards - something players have been eagerly anticipating.

Furthermore, Season 5 will likely expand the existing skill trees and ability paths. As players progress through the endgame content, new skill branches will offer more gameplay options, such as enhancing survivability, improving team support, or boosting damage output against bosses and elite enemies.

More skill choices will also prevent players from using fixed builds in the late game, allowing for greater strategic depth in the endgame.

In short, if Black Ops 7 follows its current update path, Season 5 is most likely to be a major update driven by Zombies and Endgame content.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 4 Reloaded Review: What Went Wrong With Launch, AN-94 and Summer Events?

On June 25, 2026, Season 4 Reloaded of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 officially launched. Before its release, many players had high expectations.

However, in the days following its launch, the player community's reaction was almost entirely negative. It seems Season 4 Reloaded added a lot of content, so why the negative player response?

Below, I will summarize the player community's evaluation and analyze it.

New Maps

Season 4 Reloaded of CoD Black Ops 7 introduced two maps for multiplayer: a brand new 6v6 or 2v2 map called Zenith; and the classic Launch map from the original CoD Black Ops.

This should have been a good thing, giving players both new maps to play and old maps to reminisce about. So, where did the problem lie? The controversy mainly focused on Launch.

First, while Launch, a map from 14 years ago, retains its original structural design, the graphics engines used in the first and seventh installments are vastly different. Under CoD Black Ops 7 engine, Launch appears grayish and lacks contrast, losing the original's stark military feel.

Second, this return of Launch uses the original daytime scene, rather than the stunning nighttime version from CoD Black Ops 4. That version, with its nighttime backdrop, neon lights, and fire effects, gave the map a fresh new look. Many players would have preferred the return of that nighttime Launch, not the original.

Third, and most criticized by players, a Soviet flag on the tower in Launch has been drastically altered, its lines and composition appearing chaotic and jarring. Many players suspect the development team used AI-generated graphics, thus failing to notice how poorly made the flag is.

The new map, Zenith, a medium-sized map set in a luxurious manor on a cliff, supports both 2v2 and 6v6 matches.

While this might seem to cater to both types of players, in reality, this design often means it's neither a standard 6v6 map nor a purely 2v2 competitive map. For most players accustomed to the pace of 6v6, it feels more like an enlarged, chaotic free-for-all map, unlikely to become a regular feature in their core map pool.

Nick Cage Event Pass

Another highlight of Season 4 Reloaded update for CoD Black Ops 7 is Event Pass, a collaboration with Nick Cage.

Like other Event Passes, this one offers both a standard and an upgraded version. The ultimate reward of the standard version is the highly anticipated AN-94 Assault Rifle.

AN-94 Assault Rifle, a classic weapon from CoD Black Ops 2, is renowned for its unique "double-shot" mechanic and stable handling.

Its return should have been welcome news, but the acquisition method has left players frustrated. Players need to earn XP in Multiplayer and Zombies to level up their event pass, and the leveling speed is incredibly slow.

One player shared their experience: "It took me almost an hour to level up twice." This means that without investing a significant amount of time grinding for XP, it's extremely difficult to obtain AN-94.

Furthermore, even after obtaining AN-94, players still need to spend a considerable amount of time in Bot Lobbies to familiarize themselves with the weapon. This is highly unreasonable for players who need to work.

Now let's look at the upgraded version. If you want more than just AN-94, but also skins, blueprints, and most importantly - Nick Cage as a playable Operator - you need to spend real money.

This design turns Nick Cage Event Pass into an activity that requires players to invest a lot of time or money. So even if the long-awaited AN-94 returns, it brings not surprise, but exhaustion.

This operational strategy essentially uses player nostalgia as fuel to drive daily active user (DAU) data.

Summer of Action

If the problem with Nick Cage Event Pass was that it was too time-consuming, then the problem with another event in Season 4 Reloaded update of CoD Black Ops 7 - Summer of Action - was that it was too boring.

The rewards for this Summer of Action included: an Emblem, a Sticker, a Calling Card, some XP, and a Blueprint of a "Catharsis" X9 Maverick Assault Rifle.

These rewards were practically filler items in every Season's Event Pass, offering neither collectible value nor visual appeal.

In contrast, in past CoD titles, the game's summer festival wasn't the boring Summer of Action, but a highly anticipated annual tradition - Days of Summer.

Back then, Days of Summer featured unique challenges (such as achieving a specific number of kills), exclusive weapon skins (like ice cream-themed weapon camouflage), and community goals requiring the collective effort of all players (such as accumulating kill counts).

Many players considered Days of Summer one of the most fun events in CoD, consistently offering a wealth of new content, items, challenges, and rewards.

However, CoD BO7 Season 4 Reloaded's Summer of Action only required players to perform a purely linear "log in - claim rewards - log off" process. Players didn't need to play a game or complete any objectives; they only needed to prove they were "still there".

Essentially, this design downgraded a community event to a mere "check-in" system for maintaining active users. This disparity became a source of player dissatisfaction.

One player expressed strong disappointment: "The old days are gone... because the developers are too lazy to make truly fun gameplay".

These are the recent negative reviews from Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 players regarding Season 4 Reloaded. Of course, while there are negative voices, many players have also expressed their approval of the new content. What are your thoughts on Season 4 Reloaded?
