Season 4 update for Call of Duty Black Ops 7 is expected to officially launch on June 4th, marking the game's entry into its mid-to-late game phase.

This update is not merely a refresh of existing content; it also serves to pave the way for the next installment.

Meanwhile, the remastered Fortune's Keep for Warzone, Japan volcano temple for Zombie, and several weapons seemingly from Black Ops 3 collectively create a Season themed around "return and reconstruction."Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Season 4 June 4 Update Expected Roadmap Revealed: Major Warzone and Zombies Changes Inside

Update Schedule

June 4th launch date for Season 4 coincides perfectly with the peak summer game event season. The roadmap was released a week in advance, followed by pre-loading access around June 1st - a schedule highly consistent with previous CoD Seasons.

Season 4 may not release all content at once. Zombie's new map has been explicitly delayed until the mid-season update, and some multiplayer maps may be released in batches.

This phased release strategy serves two purposes: first, to maintain a smooth curve in player activity, and secondly, to reflect the development team's cautious approach to ensuring the completion of core content.

Multiplayer Mode

The following are the updates for multiplayer mode.

Retro Maps

Multiplayer mode will see at least three remastered or legacy maps this season. The development team confirmed in a Season 3 developer interview that either Arsenal or Frequency would be added as a remaster, but the specific map has not yet been revealed.

Both maps are from Black Ops 4 and are designed with a focus on competitiveness and pace control. Additionally, Vertical, a map that was announced before the release of Call of Duty Black Ops 7, has yet to be implemented; this season may fill that gap.

More noteworthy is the addition of WMD. This is the last remaining map inherited from Black Ops 6, following Firing Range and Fringe.

The implementation of WMD signifies the official end of Black Ops 6 map legacy chain. Additionally, Free Run mode may see a new level called Ascent, which, if true, would be a revival of Black Ops 3's extreme parkour gameplay.

Killstreak Rewards and Black Ops 3 Imprint on Armory

Among the leaked information, the code for an unnamed killstreak reward has been unearthed, leading many to speculate it might be Tempest.

This weapon was previously the exclusive ability of Profit character in Black Ops 3, who himself has appeared in Season 4 through Battle Pass. This character-weapon synergy reinforcing Black Ops 3 theme this season.

Summer Event

The return of Cherry Fizz camouflage has been officially confirmed. This camouflage first appeared in Black Ops 3's Days of Summer event, released alongside the theme park-style map Splash.

Currently, there are two main speculations regarding its acquisition method: as an event reward or as a reward for the level 250 weapon Prestige. Regardless of the method, its return time highly overlaps with the summer event.

The official release may be a complete remake of Days of Summer event, including limited-time challenges, map decoration changes, and tropical-themed content packs. Additionally, players can use CoD Black Ops 7 Bot Lobbies to complete challenges more efficiently and unlock limited-time rewards with ease.

This remake reflects a common dilemma in modern service-based games: original seasonal content is costly, while the return on classic events is more predictable.

Modern Warfare 4 Reveal Event

The reveal of Modern Warfare 4 is expected to occur during Season 4, typically accompanied by in-game events. Based on previous experience, these events may take the form of limited-time modes, Easter egg unlocks, or bunker activations, primarily taking place on Warzone map.

Players can earn rewards such as camouflage and blueprints by completing specific challenges, and pre-orders will also open simultaneously.

This practice of embedding new game promotion within existing titles has become a fixed ritual in Call of Duty series. For Black Ops 7, which is still operating, this means that Season 4 is not only a content update but also a marketing event. The development team needs to find a balance between maintaining its narrative independence and driving traffic to the new title.

Zombie

The following is a summary of Zombie's updates.

Survival Maps

Zombie's main update at the start of this season is the survival maps. A survival variant of Nuketown has been indirectly confirmed through the rewards screen, while future versions of Paradox Junction and Lighthouse are also listed as potential content.

These smaller maps primarily cater to quick play and camouflage farming needs, are relatively easy to develop, and are suitable as filler content for the start of the season.

Widow's Wine ability is still not implemented, although its buff module has appeared in leaked files. This ability is highly related to the next main story map and may be deliberately delayed until the new map is released.

Japan Volcano Temple

The core of this season's Zombie is an ancient temple map located in Japan, situated at the foot of an active volcano. This setting was revealed by Insider Games before the release of CoD Black Ops 7, which also mentioned a canceled World War II New York map. The ending cutscene for Toten Rake, with a shot of the character pointing to a distant volcano, further confirms the map's existence.

Compared to the enclosed architectural structures of traditional zombie maps, Volcano Temple offers a more open vertical space and potential for dynamic events.

However, delaying the main story map until the mid-season update means the zombie content at the beginning of the season will be relatively thin, and core players may have to wait several weeks to experience the full narrative.Buy Cheap and Safe CoD Black Ops 7 Bot Lobbies from EZG.com to Prepare for Season 4 Released on June 4

Warzone Mode

The remastered version of Fortune's Keep has been officially confirmed and is expected to launch in Season 4 or the mid-season update. This map originally appeared in CoD Warzone and is known for its compact island layout and high-density loot areas.

Choosing to release the remaster in Season 4 logically aligns with the remastering schedule of Rebirth Island. Delaying it to Season 5 could conflict with MW4 beta testing, making Season 4 the last reasonable window.

The remastered version will likely include new Easter eggs, challenges, and rewards, continuing Rebirth Island format.

However, Warzone map pool already includes several large maps, and the addition of Fortune's Keep may further fragment the matchmaking pool, especially impacting the player base for Black Ops Royale.

Avalon map has been undergoing gradual updates since its release, with waterways previously added and some islands expanded. Season 4 may continue this trend, making terrain adjustments to Avalon.

Additionally, the issue of not being able to equip camouflage on ground-picked weapons may be fixed as part of a quality of life update. While small, this change could significantly improve the consistency of Black Ops Royale experience.

Season 4 update for Call of Duty Black Ops 7 exhibits clear asset reuse and cross-generational crossover characteristics. Season 4 is a systematic review of the series' history, rather than a bold experiment in innovation.
