Diablo 2 Resurrected Season 14 Warlock Tier List: Why Abyss Warlock Is Top 1 for Stress-Free Leveling?

This article lists various builds for Warlock in Diablo 2 Resurrected: Season 14 during the game's progression phases, ranging from S-rank to D-rank.

May 20, 2026 Author: EZG Views: 145

Diablo 2 Resurrected's Season 14 is launching in just two days, as you probably already know. One of the key features of the new season is the significant overhaul of Warlock class.

So, if you're a new Warlock player, you might be unsure which build to use during the leveling phase, and previous tutorials are no longer relevant - the situation has changed.

Don't worry, I've ranked the mainstream Warlock builds for the new season into five tiers from highest to lowest strength: S, A, B, C, and D. This ranking can help you choose the right build for you.Diablo 2 Resurrected Season 14 Warlock Tier List: Why Abyss Warlock Is Top 1 for Stress-Free Leveling?

S Tier: Abyss Warlock

Abyss Warlock build is the most suitable build for leveling players in Diablo 2 Resurrected Season 14. Its core advantage lies in using magic damage to mitigate the most severe mechanic nerfs of the season, while also benefiting from multiple skill optimizations.

Why is that? First, we need to understand the key skills used in Abyss Warlock Build:

  • Abyss
  • Miasma Chain
  • Miasma Bolt
  • Blade Warp

Second, let's look at the adjustments made to Warlock in Season 14:

  • First, the casting delay of Miasma Chain has been removed, meaning players can cast multiple chains consecutively in a short period without waiting for a cooldown;Furthermore, the maximum number of jumps for Chain has been increased to 10; and each Chain generates a separate Cloud upon hitting a monster, dealing continuous damage.
  • Second, using Blade Warp will no longer interrupt an existing Chain. This fix allows players to maintain output while moving, significantly improving map clearing efficiency and smoothness of operation;
  • Third, Abyss's radius bonus not scaling with skill level has been fixed;
  • Fourth, various bugs with Miasma Bolt have been fixed.

Therefore, it's easy to see that Season 14 completely fixed all the bugs in the previous Abyss Warlock build, ensuring it will no longer be disliked by players due to numerous bugs.

Furthermore, the core damage type of Abyss skills is Magic Damage, and in the early stages of Diablo 2 Resurrected, monsters immune to magic damage are extremely rare. This is why this build is most suitable for novice players.

Regarding the equipment for this build, I recommend choosing Spirit Runeword as your primary weapon, any Grimeore as your off-hand, and wearing armor with either Stealth Runeword or Authority Runeword.

Of course, finding this equipment can be difficult for leveling players. You can directly buy Diablo 2 Resurrected Items from EZG.com, which is the easiest and fastest way to complete this build.

Tier A: Fire Warlock

Fire Warlock build was considered an S Tier build before Season 14. Its demotion to Tier A is primarily because of a nerf.

The core damage-dealing abilities of Fire Warlock build include:

  • Ring of Fire
  • Flame Wave
  • Apocalypse

In Season 14, the damage of both Ring of Fire and Flame Wave was slightly reduced, impacting the build's overall strength.

More importantly, Diablo 2 Resurrected removed Conviction from Bind Demon system, replacing it with Fanaticism. This means Fire Warlock can no longer gain the ability to reduce monster fire resistance for free by capturing demon minions with Conviction. Therefore, Fire Warlock's damage output is significantly reduced when encountering monsters with fire resistance.

B Tier: Echoing Strike Warlock

This build was introduced in my previous article. It's placed in Tier B here because it's more suitable for the endgame phase than the leveling phase.

Specifically, this build relies on the skill Echoing Strike, Warlock's core physical damage skill, a melee area-of-effect attack.

Season 14 also adjusted these physical skills. First, the damage scaling was changed from multiplicative to additive; second, a bug related to skill hit rate was fixed; and finally, based on player feedback, the percentage of weapon damage used was increased from 75% to 90%.

Therefore, you can see that the effectiveness of this build largely depends on the quality of your weapon. For players in the leveling phase, obtaining a suitable weapon is difficult. So, it's advisable to consider using this build in the endgame.

C Tier: Bind Demon Warlock

This build primarily relies on Bind Demon skill. This skill allows players to capture demonic monsters as minions. The skill points required for capture depend on the target monster type: 10 points for a Champion monster, 15 points for a Unique monster, and 20 points for a Super Unique monster.

This build isn't particularly powerful or popular, but it's rated C Tier instead of D Tier because Diablo 2 Resurrected Season 14 made several adjustments to Bind Demon system, such as increasing the maximum health of demon minions and improving the success rate of capturing them.

D Tier: Mirrored Blades Warlock

This build heavily relies on Mirrored Blades skill, which synergize with Echoing Strike, simultaneously unleashing five mirror images of weapons to deal burst damage. The attack speed of this skill depends on attack speed rather than casting speed and consumes weapon durability.

Season 14 primarily fixed some bugs in Mirrored Blades without making any substantial mechanic improvements or numerical increases. However, other builds were buffed, so this build is rated D.

This concludes my ranking of Warlock Build strengths for Diablo 2 Resurrected Season 14. This ranking is subjective, so while some builds may not be rated S Tier or A Tier, they still offer considerable fun and replayability. Therefore, simply choose the build that interests you most.
