Diablo 4 DLC, released on October 8, 2024, brings many updates to the game and some significant additions. While some of the new content is exclusive to those who get the expansion, many other new content is free to add-ons for the entire game.
10. Favorites
By clicking and selecting a waypoint added to favorites, players can be teleported directly to that point when using a town portal. These favorite waypoints can be located anywhere, including the Tree of Whispers. For players who frequently visit a certain location, this feature greatly improves the smoothness of the game. While players can also manually open the map to select a waypoint, favorites provide a faster way to access it.

9. New Party Finder System
The long-awaited party finder has been added to the game with the release of Vessel of Hatred, and is available to all players who play Diablo 4. In Party Finder, players can choose the type of activities they want to participate in.
For players who own Vessel of Hatred expansion, Undercity also has its own tab. Players can find and join other parties or create their own parties. When creating a team, players can only choose what they have unlocked. In addition, various tags can be applied to help find a team that meets specific needs.
8. Runewords
Runewords first appeared in Diablo 2 and can be added as socketed boosts to items or armor. The two runes, Rune of Ritual and Rune of Invocation, must be combined in an item with two open slots to become a Runeword and provide players with powerful buffs.
Runewords are very useful for certain builds, and players need to make sure they choose the right type of buff for their character. To trigger a Runeword, a certain number of offerings are usually required, and then benefits are obtained based on the runes used.
7. Kurast Undercity
Players can unlock the limited-time event Kurast Undercity. This dungeon is located underground in Kurast, and players need to pay attention to a countdown clock while traversing the ruins. Defeating certain bosses or reaching specific locations can extend the time, and the ultimate reward depends on how far the player can go on each expedition.
Entering Undercity requires placing Tributes to the brazier at the entrance, and then there is the option to trade to customize the reward.
6. Season 6 Launched Alongside DLC
New seasonal content and a battle pass are available. In this limited-time event, defeating Realmwalkers that occasionally rise from the ground can open portals to Seething Realms for powerful rewards. Season 6’s content is relatively simple, and its unique currency type Seething Opals provides enhancements to loot drops and XP gains.
5. Dark Citadel
Dark Citadel introduces new multiplayer endgame content to Diablo 4. Although it can be completed by two players, Dark Citadel is designed to be attempted by a four-player team. To unlock Dark Citadel, players must first complete Pit of the Artificer on tier 20 and reach the maximum level of 60.
The three wings of Citadel are filled with multiple bosses and hordes of enemies, and at the end, Khazra will attempt to summon a very powerful boss. The reward for successfully completing Dark Citadel depends on Torment Level at which the mission is completed.
4. Mercenaries
Vessel of Hatred brings four recruitable Mercenaries who can fight alongside you. They don’t require Diablo 4 Gold to join your party. But to get Pale Hand Mercenaries, you must own Vessel of Hatred expansion and complete a short introductory quest for each Mercenary. Completing quests with Mercenaries will increase their reputation.
3. Jungle Of Nahantu
Diablo 4 players have already explored the jungle of Nahantu in Diablo 2, but it was unnamed in Diablo 2. For those who lived outside of southern Kehjistan, the area was called Torajan, and its culture and feel were very different from other places. Nahantu is not only the home to Vessel of Hatred expansion content, but also provides players with a beautiful change of scenery.
2. Vessel Of Hatred Continues Diablo 4’s Story
Many players are eager to know the fate of Neyrelle and soul stone in Diablo 4’s ending. Diablo 4 DLC continues this narrative content. Players enter the jungle of Nahantu while following the trail of Neyrelle, a race with Lord of Hatred to save the entire world from Mephisto’s goal.
Diablo 4’s developers have previously stated that there will be more expansions in the future. Therefore, it is unlikely that the new ending of Vessel of Hatred is the real ending.
1. Spiritborn Class
Spiritborn is a very interesting character. At present, the development team is planning to make major adjustments to this profession to achieve a balance with other professions. The uniqueness of the Spiritborn Class is its ability to summon four Spirit Guardians, each of which has its own characteristics, providing players with a rich selection of abilities.
This design not only enriches the gameplay of the game, but also brings a brand new experience to the players. By mixing various abilities, players can create unique tactical combinations, making the game more diverse and interesting.
Overall, Diablo 4 DLC brings many updates and major content to the game. In the future, the development team will continue to launch more expansions to bring more surprises and fun to the players.
