Diablo 4 Season 7: Can Spiritborn Class Continue To Be At The Top?

Diablo 4 Spiritborn has become too powerful due to some vulnerabilities. In response, the game officials may make some adjustments in Season 7. This may mean that Spiritborn will no longer be at the top as before.

Dec 06, 2024 Author: EZG

With the upcoming release of Diablo 4 Season 7, many classes will be subject to some adjustments, including Spiritborn class, which has always been loved by players. Does this mean that the peak era of Spiritborn is coming to an end?

Diablo 4 Season 7: Can Spiritborn Class Continue To Be At The Top?

Broken Spiritborn Build Has Amazing Damage

Spiritborn class in Diablo 4 has some loopholes, and players have used this loophole to cause trillions of damage, which makes the strength of Spiritborn exceed its own strength, and even much stronger than any class in the game.

Although many players have a lot of fun, this loophole obviously undermines the balance of the game. Surprisingly, Diablo 4 officials decided not to fix the problem of Spiritborn in the middle of the season, but let players enjoy the fun of the “broken” class.

But this is obviously not their long-term plan. With the release of Diablo 4 Season 7 PTR, many players are more concerned about whether Spiritborn will be weakened in Season 7.

In this regard, the official has said that they hope the game content will be challenging for players. If a certain profession is too powerful, it will become too easy for players to obtain Diablo 4 Gold, which will make the game lose a little fun. Therefore, they will try to correct the problem that Spiritborn is too strong in the current version.

But they will not significantly weaken Spiritborn class itself, but will fix the bug, which will prevent Spiritborn from causing too much damage as it does now, but at the same time maintain good playability.

A Series Of Adjustments To Spiritborn Are Mentioned In Diablo 4 Season 7 PTR Patch Notes

Some adjustments to Spiritborn are mentioned in Diablo 4 Season 7 2.1 PTR patch notes. Of course, these adjustments may change after the official arrival of Diablo 4 Season 7.

These adjustments include Spiritborn skills, Legendary Aspects, Spirit halls (Centipede Primary Spirit Hall and Eagle Secondary Spirit Hall), Unique items, Paragon nodes tweaked, Recipe reworks and other aspects.

Among all the above changes, it is worth mentioning the numerical changes of Rod of Kepeleke. Diablo 4 officials believe that Rod of Kepeleke is one of the important reasons for the excessive strength of Spiritborn builds.

After the adjustment, the additional critical hit damage of Rod of Kepeleke will be much lower than before, which will make this item in a healthier state while retaining its original fantasy meaning and core construction mechanism. It will no longer cause exaggerated damage like before.

The revised Spiritborn may be in a more balanced state, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

The New Druid Build May Surpass Spiritborn

Recently, Diablo 4 Rob2628 posted on Twitter that he used a new Druid build in Season 7 PTR to defeat the current super Spiritborn class. This new Druid build has damage of 9.3 quadrillions, which means that the current strongest position of Spiritborn is threatened.

However, this is only implemented in the current PTR version. If this overpowered Druid build becomes popular, the official may also weaken some of Druid’s abilities before Season 7 officially begins.

Diablo 4 Season 7 will be launched in January 2025, and players can still enjoy the powerful Spiritborn class before then. But from the above news, in Diablo 4 Season 7, Spiritborn is likely to no longer be as strong as it is now. If you are a player who likes Spiritborn, you need to be mentally prepared for this. For the long-term healthy development of the game, these adjustments are inevitable.

Diablo 4 Season 8 Bone Spear Necromancer Build: What Skills And Gear Does It Require?

Necromancer was incredibly good in Season 7, and maybe that’s when many players fell in love with Blood Wave Necromancer. Unfortunately, this build was nerfed in Season 8, but Diablo 4 players should have gotten used to it.

So Necromancer became less powerful and less fun? Of course not! They kicked Blood Wave Necromancer down the stairs, but pulled Bone Spear Necromancer up. This build is also a powerful endgame build that can cause incredible damage.

Pros And Cons

Pros

  • Can cause huge amounts of damage
  • Not very demanding on gear
  • Good for The Pit

Cons

  • Using Bone Spear consumes health
  • You need to make sure your skills hit
  • Farming is slow

Skills

  • Bone Prison: Creates a Bone Prison with a certain amount of health that traps the target for 6 seconds.
  • Corpse Tendrils: Corpses burst, pull enemies closer, and deal damage. This skill does not consume corpses.
  • Bone Spear: Summons a bone spear from the ground that pierces the enemy and causes huge amounts of damage.
  • Soulrift: Corrupts nearby enemies over eight seconds, dealing damage to them, and rips and absorbs their souls to generate resources.
  • Blight: After releasing Blight to cause damage, it leaves an area that lasts for 6 seconds, and enemies passing through this area will be damaged.
  • Blood Mist: Transforms into a blood mist that is immune to damage for 3 seconds and restores health.

You must have noticed that all Bone Spear Necromancer’s skills have almost no area damage, which is why Necromancer farming is slow. The trade-off for ranged abilities is extremely high damage to a single enemy. Even Torment 4 difficulty bosses can be easily dealt with by Bone Spear Necromancer.

You can add a Blood Surge Necromancer or Minions Necromancer to your armory to farm Diablo 4 Gold and clear out the minions.

You need to trap the enemy with Bone Prison first, then use Bone Spear and Blight on the enemy to increase your damage. Blood Mist is a skill you can use to escape when you are in danger.

Using these skills will consume your health, so always keep an eye on your health.

Gear

  • Helm: Deathless Visage (Tam + Wat)
  • Chest: Aspect of Hardened Bones (Royal Topaz)
  • Gloves: Aspect of Serration
  • Pants: Indira’s Memory (Royal Topaz)
  • Boots: Path of Trag’Oul
  • Weapon 2H (Mace): Aspect of Grasping Veins (Royal Skull)
  • Amulet (50% Scaling): Aspect of the Dark Dance (Royal Skull)
  • Ring 1: Bone Duster’s Aspect (Royal Skull)
  • Ring 2: Sacrificial Aspect (Royal Skull)

There are three unique items in this set that help this build a lot.

Deathless Visage increases the critical damage of Bone Spear greatly. This is a unique item that mainly increases Bone Spear and it will be found in Echo of Varshan drop.

Indira’s Memory improves both Blood Wave and Bone Spear. This item transforms a Bone Spear into a Blood Spear, which consumes your health when hitting an enemy, and can also consume nearby corpses to launch new bone spears. This unique item can be obtained by defeating The Beast in the Ice in Torment tiers 3 and 4.

Path of Trag’Oul reduces the cooldown of Bone Prison and increases the control range of Bone Prison, allowing you to hit with Bone Spear after controlling an enemy. Path of Trag’Oul can drop on any difficulty level, and is recommended to be obtained by defeating Grigoire, the Galvanic Saint.

In addition, after you get 2 Resplendent Sparks, you can go to The Jeweler to use the following materials to craft Shroud of False Death, which replaces Aspect of Hardened Bones.

  • x2 Resplendent Spark
  • x6 Bac
  • x6 Kry
  • x6 Moni
  • Diablo 4 Gold

In general, your goal is to get your armor above 1000 and as many elemental resistances as possible, preferably 70%.

Boss Powers

Main Boss Power

  • Lilith’s Wind of Hate: When you cast a skill, attack the enemy with a spike wave that lasts for 2 seconds, causing a large amount of physical damage. Each time Lilith’s Wind of Hate hits an enemy, it will increase the damage it takes, which can be stacked up to 5 times.
  • Grigoire’s Lightning Square (Alternative to Lilith’s Wind of Hate): After releasing the core skill, lightning spreads outward within 1.2s, causing a large amount of Lightning damage.

Modifier Boss Powers:

  • Hatred’s Embrace’s Haste: Increases critical hit rate.
  • Wandering Death’s Chest Beam: Damage from Main Boss Power can kill non-boss creatures with less than 1/4 of their health.
  • Lord Zir’s Blood Pool: Restores health within three seconds after activating Main Boss Power.

Elixir

Elixirs can provide you with a short-term large buff in battle, especially when fighting against bosses. Using elixirs can increase your chances of winning. It is recommended that you use the following three elixirs:

  • Elixir of Fortitude II: Increases maximum health.
  • Elixir of Destruction II: Increases Overpower damage and vulnerability damage.
  • Elixir of Resourcefulness II: Increases resource acquisition.

Elixirs cannot be stacked. Note that you only need to drink one elixir at a time, or you will waste your materials and gold.

The skill release order of Bone Spear Necromancer Build is very simple, and the equipment matching is not complicated. Since players need to defeat many bosses in Season 8 to upgrade Boss Powers Rank, Bone Spear Necromancer that can cause high single-target damage is worth trying.

Diablo 4 Season 8 Top Class And Builds: Which Builds Can You Choose? - For Leveling, Farming, Endgame & Bossing

Diablo 4 Season 8 has been officially launched on April 29. All players’ gold, equipment and other items in Season 7 cannot be brought to season 8. Players need to re-select their class to return to Sanctuary and start a new round of battles.

The main gameplay of Season 8 Belial’s Return is to kill bosses and obtain their Boss Powers. Fighting bosses will become an important part of Season 8. Besides obtaining Boss Powers in Apparition Incursions, players also need to defeat world bosses and Lair bosses to get all Boss Powers.

These bosses are very difficult to deal with. If you want to defeat them, you need to prepare gold coins, level up, change equipment, make potions, select skills, etc.... Choosing a good build can make you get twice the result with half the effort and save time.

Leveling Build Tier List

  • Upheaval Barbarian Build
  • Blood Surge Necromancer Build
  • Minion Summoner Necromancer Build
  • Dance of Knives Rogue Build
  • Barrage Rogue Build
  • Chain Lightning Sorcerer Build
  • Incinerate Sorcerer Build
  • Firewall Sorcerer Build
  • Quill Volley Spiritborn Build
  • Stinger Spiritborn Build

Best Classes for Leveling in Season 8: Necromancer, Spiritborn, Rogue.

All the above are top leveling builds, each of which is very efficient at dealing with large groups of enemies and gaining experience quickly.

There are two ways to quickly level up a Necromancer. One is to use Blood Surge as a core skill and suck the blood of the enemy. Blood Surge Necromancer Build has high damage and can also be used as a tank in the early game. Minion Summoner Necromancer is more dependent on summons. As long as Necromancer’s summons is not all dead, Necromancer is still in a relatively safe environment.

Dance of Knives Rogue is still the best Rogue Leveling Build, but Dance of Knives is only available to players with DLC. Players without Vessel of Hatred can also choose Barrage Rogue Build. This build can shoot a lot of arrows and clear monsters quickly.

Although Sorcerer can also cause a lot of damage, her health is not high, and you have to pay attention to mana consumption, so it is recommended that Sorcerer players team up with your friends to play.

Speed Farming Build Tier List

  • Whirlwind Barbarian Build
  • Hammer of the Ancients (HotA) Barbarian Build
  • Cataclysm Druid Build
  • Blood Wave Necromancer Build
  • Blood Surge Necromancer Build
  • Dance of Knives Rogue Build
  • Shadow Step Rogue Build
  • Death Trap Rogue Build
  • Lightning Spear Sorcerer Build
  • Fireball Sorcerer Build
  • Meteor Sorcerer Build
  • Ice Shards Sorcerer Build
  • Blizzard Sorcerer Build
  • Ball Lightning Sorcerer Build
  • Poison Quill Volley Spiritborn Build
  • Crushing Hand Spiritborn Build
  • Firestorm Spiritborn Build

Best Classes for Speed Farming in Season 8: Rogue, Spiritborn, Sorcerer.

Speed Farming Build focuses more on the speed of clearing monsters than Level Build. You need to make your build to run Helltides, Nightmare Dungeons, The Pit (early tiers), Infernal Hordes, or Kurast Undercity as fast as possible.

Sorcerer is probably the best Speed Farming class in Season 8, because Sorcerer has been enhanced in Season 8, and can quickly deal large-area damage with Boss Powers. Ice Shards Sorcerer Build has been improved compared to Season 7, and it can slow down monsters and still deal enough damage.

The advantages of Spiritborn and Rogue are that they move fast and can run through Nightmare Dungeons and The Pit as fast as possible and get Diablo 4 Gold and equipment, etc.

Endgame Push Build Tier List

  • Whirlwind Barbarian Build
  • Cataclysm Druid Build
  • Blood Wave Necromancer Build
  • Bone Spirit Necromancer Build
  • Bone Spear Necromancer Build
  • Death Trap Rogue Build
  • Lightning Spear Sorcerer Build
  • Poison Quill Volley Spiritborn Build

Best Classes for Endgame Pushing in Season 8: Necromancer, Barbarian, Sorcerer.

Endgame Push Builds are a test of your build’s overall capabilities. Because in the endgame, monsters and bosses have a lot of health, and their damage becomes very threatening.

Endgame Builds need to ensure that you can still quickly clear monsters, but also survive the boss’s attacks, which is particularly important in Season 8.

Both Necromancer and Barbarian can make a lot of area damage, and they also have many ways to survive. But I think Necromancer is a little less efficient than Barbarian in clearing monsters, but the developers have strengthened Bone Spear Necromancer, making Necromancer deal with bosses faster, so both have their advantages.

Boss Killer Build Tier List

  • Mighty Throw Barbarian Build
  • Cataclysm Druid Build
  • Blood Wave Necromancer Build
  • Bone Spear Necromancer Build
  • Death Trap Rogue Build
  • Lightning Spear Sorcerer Build
  • Poison Quill Volley Spiritborn Build

Boss Killer Build only requires you to clear bosses in the fastest and best way, and has no requirements for clearing Helltides, Nightmare Dungeons, etc.

Most bosses will not summon minions, so the higher the damage of Boss Killer Build to single monsters, the better. The performance of Blood Wave Necromancer Build and Lightning Spear Sorcerer Build has increased in Season 8. If you are interested, you can use some gold to change your skills to experience their power.

The above is all about Diablo 4 Season 8 Top Class And Builds. Playing the meta builds of each Season can bring you the most comfortable gaming experience, but you can also try other genres, and each build has its own fun.

Diablo 4 Season 8 Boss Powers Adjustment: They Didn’t Even Survive From PTR!

Diablo 4 Season 8 Boss Powers were very powerful in the initial PTR. The damage data of each Boss Power that was upgraded to the maximum level seemed to be typed out by the designer with his feet on the computer keyboard.

The amazing damage seemed to really turn the player into a boss. Many builds in PTR even used Boss Powers as one of the main output methods, and the powerful Boss Powers gave players some expectations for the new season.

However, the powerful Boss Power was eventually weakened by the designer, which is not surprising, but a bit regrettable. If the original data can be maintained, maybe the players of Season 8 can experience the pleasure of character data explosion. Let’s have a look at which Boss Powers have been weakened.

Legendary Boss Powers

1. Andariel’s Flaming Skull

Primary Power

  • Damage reduced from 1800% to 450%.

Modifier

  • Reduced damage over time bonus from 21%-40% to 10.5-20%.
  • Damage over time no longer requires enemies to be burning.
  • Removed bonus burn damage from Primary Power.

2. Belial’s Eye Beams

Primary Power

  • Damage reduced from 1,750% to 438%.
  • Damage Reduction reduced from 75% to 50%.
  • Number of eye beams reduced from 6 to 5.
  • Slightly sped up eye orbital rotation.
  • Eye duration reduced from 3.5 seconds to 2 seconds, damage over time duration unaffected.

3. Harbinger Of Hatred’s Volley

Primary Power

  • Damage reduced from 400% to 250%.

Modifier

  • Fixed multiplicative nature of vulnerability bonus.
  • Modifier activation now has a 1 second cooldown.

4. Duriel’s Burrow

Primary Power

  • Damage reduced from 200% to 100%.

Modifier

  • Dodge duration increased from 2 seconds to 5 seconds.

5. Lilith’s Wind Of Hate

Primary Power

  • Damage increased from 250% to 400%.

Modifier

  • Only 1 Blister Clone can exist per Elite, and only 2 Blister Clones can exist per Boss.
  • Bliste can no longer be produced by skills that cannot execute Bosses.
  • Bliste Elite damage reduced from 5.25%-10% to 2.1%-4%.

You may notice that the changes to Legendary Boss Powers are not all nerfs, but this also shows that Boss Powers are very unbalanced. All 5 Legendary Boss Powers have been adjusted, and only Lilith’s Wind of Hate has been buffed.

Lilith is one of the most tough bosses in Diablo 4, and after this adjustment, her Boss Power is more useful. While challenging her won’t give you unique items or rewards like in Diablo 4, the mount, boss powers, and a Resplendent Spark still make her a more worthwhile challenge in season 8.

Legendary Boss Powers are now at a similar level of damage after this adjustment. They no longer deal outrageous damage, but are still an excellent support.

Rare Boss Powers

1. Urivar’s Lobbed Bombs

Primary Power

  • Damage reduced from 800% to 400%.
  • Primary Power now has a 1 second cooldown.
  • Removed 5 second ultimate cooldown reduction.
  • Newly gained 15% cooldown reduction.

2. Varshan’s Life Steal

Primary Power

  • Life steal beam now always applies to nearby enemies.
  • Damage lasts 1 second instead of 3 seconds.
  • Damage increased to 700%.

3. Wandering Death’s Chest Beam

Primary Power

  • Adjusts the beam to move closer to your character.

Modifier

  • Enforcement threshold 15%-34% to 15.5%-25%.

4. Lord Zir’s Blood Pool

Modifier

  • Healing increased from 5.5%-15% to 17%-36%.

5. Grigoire’s Lightning Square

Primary Power

  • Damage reduced from 300% to 250%.

6. Avarice’s Explosive Ore

Modifier

  • Lowered the damage bonus per resource point from 1.5%-3.4% to 0.01%-0.20%.

Urivar’s Lobbed Bombs and Wandering Death’s Chest Beam’s Primary Powers were two of the best Rare Boss Powers, and they’ve been nerfed. Varshan’s Life Steal was not very useful as either a Primary Power or a Modifier, so it’s been buffed. Even though Urivar’s Lobbed Bombs has had its damage nerfed by half, it’s still one of the best Boss Powers for leveling and farming Diablo 4 Gold for builds that rely on ultimates.

Magic Boss Powers

1. Sinerat’s Flames

Primary Power

  • Damage reduced from 200% to 50%.
  • Avarice’s Explosive Ore

Modifier

  • Damage bonus reduced from 1.5%-3.4% to 0.01%-0.20% per resource point.

2. Blackmailer’s Sabotage

Modifier

  • Barrier reduced from 20%-58% to 11%-30%.

3. Allek’s Talons

Primary Power

  • The channeling basic skill now triggers Allek’s Talons while channeling.

4. Hatred’s Embrace’s Haste

Modifier

  • Maximum critical chance bonus reduced from 22.5%-70% to 12%-50%.

5. Flesh Reaper’s Disruption

Modifier

  • Crowd control damage bonus increased from 0.25% [x] to 0.5% [x].

6. Skerg’s Toxins

Primary Power

  • Changed to whenever you take direct damage.
  • Damage reduced from 1000% to 600%.

7. Beastmaster’s Training

Primary Power

  • Summon now stuns enemies for 2-4 seconds instead of taunting.

Magic Boss Powers have most of them, been adjusted, and most of them have been nerfed. Some Magic Boss Powers did seem a bit unbalanced during PTR testing. For example, Sinerat’s Flames was found to be better than most Rare Boss Powers.

Although weakening Boss Powers can prevent the focus of Season 8 completely shift to boss powers, it will also make Season 8 lose its highlights and become mediocre. I hope that the cooperation with new IP and Boss Powers are not the only changes in Season 8, and players hope that there will be more interesting functions.

Diablo 4 Season 8 Lair Boss Belial: How To Defeat It?

Belial, a classic Diablo boss, returns in Diablo 4 Season 8. This demon of lies has three forms in Diablo 4: Apparition, “Mini” Belial and “Uber” Belial.

Like Uber Lilith, Uber Belial will be the most hard fight in Diablo 4. To get Belial’s boss powers, you must defeat him first. Here’s how to deal with Belial.

How To Summon Belial?

There are three different Belial in the game that appear in three different ways.

  • Apparition Belial: After defeating the first two bosses in Apparition Incursion, the last boss is Belial.
  • Mini Belial: When you defeat Lair boss, maybe Belial’s Ambush will be triggered. Mini Belial will appear and attack you.
  • Uber Belial: Uber Belial requires no summoning materials, but you will need 2 Betrayer’s Husks to open its chest, and Betrayer’s Husks are dropped by Mini Belial.

Once you have enough Betrayer’s Husks, you can go to the dungeon in Palace of the Deceiver in Kehjistan to summon Uber Belial.

How To Prepare?

Adjust Your Build

Uber Belial does not rely on summons, and will frequently use various skills to affect your movement range. Therefore, you can use some Diablo 4 Gold to re-select your skills to ensure that your build can deal damage to a single boss while also ensuring that you have enough survivability.

Poison Resistance

Many of Uber Belial’s skills deal lots of poison damage. If you have a high poison resistance, this fight will not be that difficult. You can use Elixir of Poison Resistance II to increase your poison resistance.

Required Crafting Materials:

  • Bundled Herbs x 40
  • Emerald Fragment x 300
  • Angelbreath x 30
  • 6000 Diablo 4 Gold

Belial’s Skills

Belial deals mostly poison and physical damage, so you’ll want to maximize your armor and poison resistance. Belial has a Stagger Bar, and when you fill it up during a fight, Belial will turn blue and be briefly stunned, which is a great time to lean in on your damage.

Uber Belial

Belial has a few attacks to watch out for:

  • Claw Sweep: Belial stabs into the platform with one claw, then sweeps across it. Avoid standing on top of the platform to avoid this attack, and positioning is the key to avoid.
  • Poison Spray: Belial sprays poison from one end of the platform to the other. You need to stand in front of the black eyes to avoid damage, and all other eyes will cast deadly venom all over the platform.
  • Poison Wave: The pools of poison slide across the platform from left to right. If multiple pools of poison appear, use defensive skills or potions and stay out of their path.
  • Belial’s Eyes of Betrayal: Belial summons seven eyes around himself. One to three of the eyes will turn black/inactive. Stand in front of the black eyes to avoid damage. All other eyes will cast deadly poison all over the platform.
  • Poison Pools (Tracking): Belial will stab the platform with his claws and create poison pools at your feet. These pools will track your position, so you need to keep moving and be careful to avoid the pools that form until the attack is over.

Mini Belial

Mini Belial deals the same type of damage as Uber Belial, but it appears after you defeat Lair Boss, leaving the player with little time to prepare, but it is easy to deal with if you know his skills.

  • Poison Wave: Belial marks a rectangular area in front of him and releases a poison wave that sweeps across the entire platform. Stay away from the area before the wave hits to avoid being hit hard.
  • Poison Pools: Large poison pools will spawn near Belial and explode. Keep moving and avoid these areas when poison pools appear.
  • Poison Bombs: A phantom of Belial appears, firing poison bombs into the arena. Keep dodging to avoid getting knocked out by the crossfire.
  • Black Soulstone: Three or more Soulstones spawn and explode shortly after. Watch their positions and keep your distance before they explode.
  • Belial Illusion: Three mini versions of Belial appear in a red circle. Once activated, they release poison waves and trigger other mechanics. Avoid the center and keep moving until the circle disappears.
  • Connected Black Soulstones: One or two Soulstones connect directly to Belial and begin tracking you, and they will follow you until they explode. Keep your distance and use evasive skills to avoid getting trapped.
  • Blood Strike from the Air: Blood spears drop from the air in a random pattern, and you need to pay attention to the red signs on the ground and hurry.
  • Adds Spawns: Elite snake-like adds will join the fight when ambushed. Focus on them quickly to avoid being overwhelmed, especially in high-density mechanics.

Loot Pool

Belial has no fixed loot pool, but after defeating him and opening Belial’s treasure with Betrayer’s Husk, you can choose the loot pool of other lair bosses as the drop pool for this boss battle, which will help you get the items you want better.

In addition to the regular drops such as gold, materials, etc., the first unique item dropped will definitely come from the boss-specific loot table you choose. Any additional unique drops have a 50% chance to come from the public drop pool. You also have a chance to get an Ancestral Unique Item from Belial’s drops.

If you are playing in a group, each other player will increase the chance of dropping an additional unique item by one third.

These are some attacks of the new boss Belial in Diablo 4 Season 8. I hope it can help you get Boss Powers or other rewards you want.

Diablo 4 Season 8 New Battle Pass Reliquaries: What Impact Will This System Bring?

It has been almost two years since the initial release of Diablo 4. During this period, facing the expectations and criticisms of players, the game has been constantly exploring and seeking more suitable ways to improve in order to provide you with a better Diablo 4 experience.

In order to keep the game up to date and meet the needs of players as much as possible, in addition to developing more playable content, other mechanisms in the game need to be adjusted regularly, such as the battle pass system that can provide fixed rewards according to your game progress.

The performance of Diablo 4’s battle pass has always been neither good nor bad, but as the game audience continues to expand and the game mechanism is updated and upgraded, the battle pass must also be updated in a timely manner to provide you with game rewards in a more convenient and efficient way. Based on this, as Season 8 approaches, Diablo 4 recently announced a new battle pass system called Reliquaries.

Old Battle Pass System

From Season 1 to Season 7, Diablo 4 battle pass includes 90 levels, 28 of which are free levels, and the rest are included in the premium version, and there is an additional accelerated version - which can provide all the rewards of the premium version, directly skip 20 levels, and rich services including class-exclusive emotes.

As the pass levels are unlocked, you can get special items such as Smoldering Ashes through this system to unlock more rewards in other welfare systems; you can also get regular rewards such as Diablo 4 Gold, weapons or mounts.

New System Reliquaries

The new battle pass system Reliquaries is divided into two parts: one for your daily game progress, and the other is dedicated to helping you win limited rewards during special events, Event Reliquaries.

Unlike previous battle passes, which have multiple reward tiers and require you to unlock them in order, regular Reliquaries provide you with 4 Reliquaries, usually one of which is free, and the other three require platinum (Reliquaries’ exclusive currency) to unlock.

If you have played Call of Duty series, you will find that Reliquaries mechanism in Diablo 4 is a bit like Sectors. Interestingly, a few months ago, Diablo 4 developers said that the battle pass system of CoD series is very worth learning from, and it seems that they have indeed realized this idea.

It is expected that after Season 8 goes online, you can check the platinum inventory at any time in the game and decide how to use it. In addition, you need to be reminded in advance that Reliquaries of each season’s battle pass are only valid during the current season, and any unclaimed Reliquaries rewards will disappear at the end of the season, so be sure to redeem Reliquaries of that season during the corresponding season.

How To Unlock Reliquaries?

After Reliquaries are launched, their unlocking is mainly promoted by a new token called Favor Tokens. As long as you complete tasks in Diablo 4 Season 8, or kill enemies and bosses in dungeons and other areas, you can earn this token while earning gold.

The upper limit of Favor Tokens is 99, which means that if you get more tokens than this value, you must consume some to continue to earn new ones. There will be a menu in Reliquaries system that shows you how many Favor Tokens you need to get the next reward based on your real-time progress, helping you make battle arrangements.

It is worth noting that when you unlock the rewards in an entire Reliquary by earning enough tokens, you will get an additional reward, which should be different for each season. As for the unlocking of Event Reliquaries, it may be related to specific event gameplay. You will know when Berserk crossover event is officially launched!

What Reliquaries Rewards Can Season 8 Provide?

As the first season to apply Reliquaries mechanism, Season 8 Belial’s Return launched four Reliquaries, namely Belial’s Return, which has the same name as the season theme, as well as Weapons, Beasts, and Armor. The rewards they contain and the amount of Platinum required to unlock them are as follows:

Belial’s Return Reliquary-free:

  • Town portal cosmetics
  • Weapon cosmetics
  • Horse cosmetics
  • Platinum
  • Gloves belonging to Guise of the Deceiver armor set (bonus reward)

Weapons Reliquary-200 Platinum:

  • Weapon cosmetics for each class
  • Boots belonging to Guise of the Deceiver armor set

Beasts Reliquary-500 Platinum:

  • Mounts
  • Mounts cosmetics
  • Pet
  • Legs belonging to Guise of the Deceiver armor set

Armor Reliquary-800 Platinum:

  • Armor sets for each class
  • Town Portal cosmetics
  • The chest and helm belonging to Guise of the Deceiver armor set

Deluxe Bundle-2800 Platinum:

  • Guise of the Deceiver armor set immediately unlocked for each class.
  • Deceiver’s Final Form Wings for each class
  • Orinocta the Owl pet
  • Access to the Weapons, Beasts, and Armor Reliquaries

Each component of Guise of the Deceiver armor set is the additional reward of Reliquaries in Season 8. From the appearance, this set of armor is mainly blue and black, with two pairs of formidable horns, sharp shoulder armor and golden claws. It has the classic Diablo 4 dark aesthetics and deterrence, and it is expected that the defense value provided in actual combat should also be very good. If you are interested in it, you must work hard to unlock all Season 8 Reliquaries!

What excites you is that the arrival of the new battle pass Reliquaries is actually only part of the changes in Season 8. There is much more to look forward to in this season. I hope Season 8 can bring you a good enough experience! Thank you for reading!

Diablo 4 Season 8 Lair Boss System Guide: How To Get Your Rewards?

Diablo 4 Season 8 will be officially released on April 29. The theme of Season 8 is Boss Powers, so we have to deal with all the bosses. Farming Bosses will become the main activity for players in the next season.

The boss system will usher in changes in Season 8. The boss system has been restructured. The endgame boss and ladder boss are grouped into a new structure called Lair Boss and divided into three difficulty levels.

Lair Boss Ladder

To challenge Lair Boss, players need to be at least in Torment I difficulty. Lair Boss Ladder is divided into three levels: Initiate, Greater, and Exalted. The higher the level, the better the loot you get after defeating the boss.

Initiate Lair Bosses

  • Grigoire
  • Beast in The Ice
  • Varshan
  • Lord Zir
  • Urivar (Vessel of Hatred)

Greater Lair Bosses

  • Duriel
  • Andariel
  • Harbinger of Hatred (Vessel of Hatred)

Exalted Lair Bosses

  • Belial

How Do Lair Boss Keys Work?

In Season 8, you no longer need to collect various boss materials to challenge bosses. You can challenge them at any time. However, after you defeat them, you will find that the rewards they dropped are very scarce. That’s because you need to use keys to open specific treasure chests to get the real rewards.

The keys you need are the summons needed to summon bosses in previous seasons. If a team defeats the boss, each member needs a key to claim the reward.

If you die in the process of challenging the boss, you will not lose any materials. These materials will only be consumed after you open the box.

In the treasure chest, besides the usual unique items, gold and materials, the Initiate Boss will also drop materials needed for Greater Boss, as well as Shard of Agony or Stygian Stone.

Here are the keys needed to unlock Lair Boss chests, as well as some of the items dropped in the chest:

  • Varshan: 12x Malignant Heart (Required Key), Shard of Agony or Stygian Stone (Drop)
  • Grigoire: 12x Living Steel (Required Key), Shard of Agony or Stygian Stone (Drop)
  • Beast in the Ice: 12x Distilled Fear (Required Key), Stygian Stone or Pincushioned Doll (Drop)
  • Lord Zir: 12x Exquisite Blood (Required Key), Pincushioned Doll or Stygian Stone (Drop)
  • Urivar: 12x Judicator’s Mask (Required Key), Abhorrent Heart or Stygian Stone (Drop)
  • Duriel: 4x Shard of Agony (Required Key)
  • Andariel: 4x Pinchioned Doll (Required Key)
  • Harbinger of Hatred: 4x Abhorrent Heart (Required Key)
  • Belial: 4x Betrayer’s Husk (Required Key)

Each Stygian Stone can be transformed into a Greater key, which is very useful, and each Stygian Stone is worth 150,000 Diablo 4 Gold. It is almost impossible to get Stygian Stone from other places except this way, so don’t waste it.

Materials Drop

  • Malignant Heart: Dropped from Whispers Events or various Helltides Events on the map
  • Living Steel: Helltides Chests
  • Distilled Fear: Nightmare Dungeons
  • Exquisite Blood: Dropped from Elites in Legion Events, Helltides and World Bosses
  • Judicator’s Mask: Rewarded from Helltides Events, Whispers Tree and World Bosses
  • Shard of Agony: Varshan or Grigoire
  • Pincushioned Doll: Lord Zir or Beast in the Ice
  • Abhorrent Heart: Urivar
  • Betrayer’s Husk: Belial’s Ambush

Different materials will drop from different bosses. Besides farming bosses to obtain materials, you can also choose to trade with other players, or use Stygian Stone to convert them into the materials you need.

Lair Boss Loot System

Lair Boss Loot System has not changed much compared to Season 7. Boss loot pools work as follows:

  • Each Lair Boss has its own loot pool, which contains both unique and mythic unique items.
  • The first unique item dropped from a Lair Boss comes from that boss’s specific loot pool, and additional unique items have a 50% chance of coming from a specific loot pool or a universal unique item pool.
  • When playing in a group, a boss has a 1/3 chance of dropping an additional unique item from its specific pool for each additional party member.
  • Under Torment 4 World Difficulty, boss chests usually contain 5 unique items.

Belial’s Ambush

After killing a Lair Boss, there is a small chance that Belial’s Ambush will appear. The loot for defeating Belial’s Ambush is:

  • Second round of loot from Lair Boss you just killed
  • Betrayer’s Husk, used to summon Belial in Exalted difficulty

Killing Belial’s Ambush that comes up suddenly does not require any summoning materials to get rewards, and if you are killed by Belial’s Ambush, you will not lose anything.

Belial’s Ambush is a smaller version of Belial. Like Belial, he can also use Blood and Poison attacks, and his damage is also high. During the battle with him, use your movement speed to avoid his large-scale attacks, and use elixirs when necessary to enhance your survivability.

In Diablo Season 8, killing these Lair Bosses will not only get gold, unique items, and other rewards, but you will also unlock Boss Powers when you first kill them. After unlocking Boss Powers, you need to collect materials through Apparition Incursions to level up Boss Powers.

Please note that the drops from Belial you kill in Apparition Incursions activity differ from the drops from Belial in Lair Boss.
