MLB The Show 26 Diamond Dynasty Legends & Flashbacks Collection Update: Best Preparation Strategy for the New 99 OVR Reward

MLB The Show 26 Diamond Dynasty introduces a new Legends & Flashbacks Collection on June 12, 2026, featuring a 99 OVR reward card. Learn the best strategies to complete vouchers and handle difficult collections.

Jun 12, 2026 Author: EZG

MLB The Show Diamond Dynasty will receive another major Legends & Flashback Collection update on June 12, 2026, with the reward being a brand new 99 OVR player card.

For players aiming for the ultimate roster, this is likely to be one of the most important updates in the coming weeks. A little over a month ago, MLB 26 released 99 OVR Miguel Cabrera Legends & Flashbacks Collection reward. It required players to complete almost all the collections within MLB, and many are still not finished.

MLB The Show 26 Diamond Dynasty Legends & Flashbacks Collection Update: Best Preparation Strategy for the New 99 OVR Reward

However, a fresh round of Legends & Flashbacks Collection is just around the corner, and judging from the current situation, completing the new collection will only be more difficult. Understanding what this collection may require and developing a reasonable collection plan will be key to obtaining this 99 OVR reward card.

Requirements

The new MLB The Show 26 collection will most likely follow the previous Miguel Cabrera collection pattern. You need to complete 20 out of 21 vouchers, allowing you to skip only one. Based on current trends, the new Legend & Flashback Collection will probably continue with the same design.

While you can still skip one voucher, almost all other collection items will require completion. Compared to before, the number of cards in MLB 26 has increased significantly, so the number of cards required for each collection will also increase accordingly.

For example, Spotlight collections. Previously, only 12 Spotlight cards were needed, but now MLB The Show 26 has nearly 70. Based on experience, the new collection may require more than 50 Spotlight cards to complete the corresponding voucher.

The same applies to Topps Now collection. Previously, 24 cards were required to complete the collection, but as MLB 26 Diamond Dynasty progresses, the official requirements are likely to be further increased, and all such collections will continue to expand in the future.

If you're having trouble completing your Legends & Flashbacks Collection, follow EZG Facebook. We're having a limited-time giveaway where lucky players will receive free MLB The Show 26 Stubs to help you complete the collection faster. Missing this opportunity may mean waiting for the next round.

Difficult Collections

Chipper Jones

Chipper Jones' card is currently unavailable. If new collections require completing Last Ride series, players without Chipper Jones will face significant challenges. Unless MLB The Show 26 reopens the acquisition method, many players may struggle to complete the collection.

Andrew Miller

Veteran series currently only adds one new card, Andrew Miller. The problem is that this card is currently only obtainable through Bullpen Bash Pack, which is already very difficult to acquire. The market price for Andrew Miller has already exceeded 82,000 MLB The Show 26 Stubs.

If MLB 26 doesn't re-release this card before the new collection launches, it could become one of the most expensive acquisition hurdles.

All-Star Sets

All-Star sets have always been the most difficult to complete in the collection, and now they may become one of the most expensive. The reason is simple: numerous rare cards from Chase Pack rewards, XP Boss rewards, and World Series rewards are concentrated in this set.

While some MLB 26 players might consider skipping All-Star Voucher, this may not be the most cost-effective option, as other additional sets can be even more expensive.

St. Patrick's Day and Egg Hunt

The biggest controversy in the current MLB 26 market still stems from St. Patrick's Day and Egg Hunt sets. These event cards have extremely low circulation, especially Egg Hunt set.

This extremely low drop rate has kept the prices of cards like Austin Riley, Brian Reynolds, Rafael Devers, and James Wood consistently high. In contrast, the prices of cards from MLB The Show 26 Vintage, Mural, and Cityscape Series are more reasonable.

Prioritize Completion

Some vouchers are relatively easy to prepare, and you should prioritize completing these collections.

Team Affinity

The previous MLB 26 Miguel Cabrera collection required 30 Team Affinity cards, although the new collection will probably increase to around 50. However, since the acquisition methods for these cards are clear, this is basically one of the easiest vouchers to complete.

Negative Leagues

MLB 26 has added a large amount of player reward collection content. With the continuous release of new storylines featuring Pete Hill, El Diablo, Willie Wells, Ted Radcliffe, and Josh Gibson, the demand for these collections will increase in the future. Therefore, completing these storylines in advance will help your collection progress.

Waiting Strategy

Even players who dedicate a lot of time each day, many have not yet completed 99 OVR Miguel Cabrera collection. Therefore, you don't need to try to complete everything on day one. Many players' first reaction upon seeing the new collection is to go to the market to collect cards using MLB The Show 26 Stubs.

EZG doesn't recommend this approach. When Miguel Cabrera was first released, many thought they had to complete the collection immediately, but with subsequent Lightning Program and Spotlight content updates, many cards eventually became available for free.

Spotlight series is a prime example. Initially, completing the collection was extremely difficult, but as MLB 26 continued to give away new cards, the barrier to entry significantly decreased. Therefore, you don't need to spend a lot of money chasing cards; waiting for future content updates is often the most cost-effective strategy.

New Reward Player

Regarding the identity of this collection reward player, MLB The Show 26 has only provided one clue so far: .409 On-base percentage. Many players have already started speculating based on career or single-season on-base percentages. However, judging from the official promotional methods, this reward card is unlikely to be a brand-new Legend player.

Because whenever a new Legend is added to the game, MLB 26 usually gives it prominent pre-release promotion, and this preview only mentions Legend & Flashback Collection Reward, without specifically emphasizing New Legend. Therefore, it's more likely that an existing Legend player will receive a brand-new 99 OVR version.

EZG believes that 99 OVR mystery reward player card from this MLB The Show Legends & Flashbacks Collection is likely to become one of the hardest collectible rewards to obtain in Diamond Dynasty, so you need to plan your strategy in advance and wait patiently for the event to go live.
