Among the many collectible rewards in MLB The Show 26, José Ramírez of Mural Series is highly sought after by players because of his versatility in multiple positions. Acquiring this card doesn't require relying entirely on market buys. Through systematic game mode planning, it's entirely possible to collect him at minimal cost.
MLB The Show 26 offers players multiple free paths to acquire Mural Series players, including program missions, Diamond Quests, Mini Seasons, Conquest Mode, and Event Mode. Understanding the priority and combination of these paths is key to efficiently obtaining José Ramírez.
The total requirement for this collection in MLB The Show 26 is 29 Mural Cards, approximately half of which can be reliably obtained through non-trading channels. The remainder can be acquired by using MLB The Show 26 Stubs in the community market or shop packs.
Basic Mission Accumulation
Upon entering Mural Program, the primary objective is to complete PXP and stat missions related to Mural Series players. These two types of missions provide 80 program progress points. Before starting to play, prioritize visiting the rewards page and collecting the issued Legacy Collection icons. This will grant an extra 20 progress points, allowing for a quick start.
After completing 100 progress points, the program guarantees five Mural Cards and one Deluxe Mural Pack.
PXP Missions
PXP missions require players to gain experience points in matches using Mural Series players. These missions are not limited to any specific mode and work even in offline play. It's recommended to include acquired Mural players in your starting lineup and complete them naturally in Diamond Quest or Mini Season.
Statistics Missions
Statistics missions typically include basic statistics such as hits and innings pitched. These data accumulate automatically during normal gameplay. There's no need to switch modes specifically for statistics missions; simply ensure your Mural players get sufficient playing time.
Expanding Free Cards
To collect more non-tradeable cards, Diamond Quest and Mini Seasons are essential modes to play next.
Diamond Quest
In Diamond Quest mode, employing a Bunt Squad strategy can significantly improve efficiency. Bunt Squad refers to a low-cost lineup focused on short rounds, utilizing game mechanics to quickly complete turns against Legendary difficulty AI.
The specific path is: choose a route that avoids Sweeper pursuit, and after capturing each stadium, immediately restart the journey, repeating the same path to capture another stadium.
This method allows for relatively quick acquisition of two stadium rewards, each corresponding to one Mural Card.
Notable low-cost alternatives in Diamond Quest include Tony Gwynn and Ozzie Smith, who can be used as lineup fillers to help complete other missions. Players are guaranteed at least two cards from Diamond Quest.
Mini Season
Mini Season mode has a clear objective: accumulate 22,000 PXP, which rewards George Springer upon completion. The fastest way to achieve this goal remains using Bunt Squad against CPU on Legendary difficulty, similar to Diamond Quest.
It's estimated that six to seven matches will accumulate enough PXP. Besides Springer, several other Mural Series players can be obtained in Mini Season.
Therefore, Mini Season alone provides four free cards. To obtain Mural packs repeatedly, you can repeatedly play Mini Season, but be aware that duplicate cards may be obtained.
Untradeable Cards
After completing the above modes, players should turn to Mural Conquest mode and Event mode, each offering a unique untradeable card.
Mural Conquest Mode
Enter Mural Conquest map and complete all objectives to obtain 92 overall rating Ralph Kiner. This mode is relatively simple and requires no additional investment; simply progress using the standard Conquest gameplay.
Event Mode
Participate in the currently running Event mode and complete the designated tasks to obtain Vladimir Guerrero Jr. This card is not only usable on its own, but more importantly, it counts towards the total Mural Series collection. Acquiring Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will bring your total number of non-tradeable cards to 14.
Market and Shop
Once you have 14 free non-tradeable cards, you're 15 short of collecting all 29 Mural Cards. 14 of these must be bought directly from the community market or obtained through Mural packs in Show Shop. The final card will be automatically awarded as a collection bonus after you collect the first 28.
Show Shop
Show Shop offers Mural Series packs weekly, each containing one Mural Series player. Players need to get these packs using MLB The Show 26 Stubs.
Additionally, the newly released Chase pack includes Carlos Santana, a card whose strength may make him a hot commodity in the market.
However, acquiring José Ramírez doesn't require purchasing Carlos Santana, as the last reward is triggered by combining the 14 cards obtained for free with the 14 buying directly, and then collecting the complete Roy Halladay set.
Events Rewind Pack
Events Rewind Pack offered in event mode contains cards from past events. These cards can be used to expand your collection or as investment assets.
If future event modes no longer include Events Rewind Pack, the market price of existing Events Rewind Pack cards may increase. It is recommended to acquire Events Rewind Packs during the event period and choose to keep or sell them based on your collection needs.
Unopened Packs
When encountering Deluxe or Premium Packs containing any player or choose one pack, if the game has just announced a new series, it is recommended not to open them immediately.
After the new content update on Friday, these unopened packs will automatically add players from the new series to your selection. This strategy helps in obtaining higher-value cards when completing your collection or for resale on the market.
Progress Optimization
Besides the main paths mentioned above, players can accelerate their overall progress using the following modes. May Spotlight Drop 2 and Drop 3 offer several player cards with an overall rating of around 93, such as Yandy Díaz and Tyler Glasnow.
While these cards may not make it into the final roster, the stat tasks required to complete Focus Missions highly overlap with the Mural Program tasks, allowing for simultaneous progress.
Additionally, the three new storylines provide three players that can be used to reduce the cost of the Jackie Robinson collection, indirectly helping to acquire Miguel Cabrera Voucher.
While these resources are not directly part of Mural Collection, they free up MLB The Show 26 Stubs originally intended for other collections, allowing players to focus more on Mural Series market buys.
Completing this collection does not require forcibly buying the most expensive Chase pack; simply planning your play order and utilizing Bunt Squad for efficiency will allow you to obtain the rewards you desire.
