However, some long-standing issues persist. If NBA 2K27 aims to be a truly excellent installment, rather than simply an annual update, these problems affecting the gameplay experience must be addressed.
Perfect Shot Scripts
One of the biggest issues currently affecting online fairness in NBA 2K remains perfect shot scripts.

If NBA 2K27 wants to improve the online environment, its anti-cheat system must be strengthened; otherwise, even the best shooting mechanics will struggle to establish fair competition.
AI Defense
Besides cheating, AI performance is another long-standing point of contention among players. In multiplayer mode, if a player disconnects, AI replacement often struggles to provide proper defense.
Often, opponents can easily break through AI and score with just a simple change of direction or a feint.

In real basketball, some players can indeed execute difficult long-range shots, but this style of play isn't a primary offensive method.
However, in 2K, players can easily create opportunities by moving left and right, accelerating, and then executing a three-point fadeaway. This style of play not only differs significantly from real basketball but is also extremely difficult to defend.
If a move is neither realistic nor logically sound, yet becomes the mainstream style of play in online games, then it needs adjustment. In NBA 2K27, difficult shots should be an option, not the universally relied-upon crutch style.
Defensive Interference
Currently, many NBA 2K players also have complaints about the shot interference system.
