As 2025 draws to a close, New World Aeternum will launch Season 10: Nighthaven, the final season of the year, on October 13th. This season is free to play as long as you own the game.
This season will reshape your New World Aeternum experience and the way you navigate the game through main story updates, more playable modes, and optimizations to multiple systems, including the endgame.
Below, we'll detail the new features and updates to existing mechanics that Season 10 will bring. Please note that there will be approximately two hours of downtime before Season 10 begins, so please plan your gameplay accordingly.
New Zone: Nighthaven
As a new zone in Season 10, Nighthaven is even the name of the season, indicating that it will play a more important role in Season 10, in addition to providing a new area to explore.
From a story perspective, Nighthaven boasts a long and isolated history, once ruled by an unknown king. Consequently, magnificent castles built by their ancestors are scattered throughout the dense forests.
The legacy of the former ruling powers extends beyond just buildings to Nighthaven, as well as mysterious figures who once immersed themselves in court politics - they still lurk in the land and continue to govern on the king's behalf.
Nighthaven is also home to welcoming residents with distinct local characteristics, as well as mysterious monsters lurking within its forests and hills. With Nighthaven's opening to the public, the lives of both residents and monsters are poised for significant change.
As a new outsider, you can enter Nighthaven with your friends, explore its tombs and ruins, acquire useful powers, and uncover the secrets buried within this land, as well as the potential conspiracies of sinister forces.
Expect Nighthaven's terrain to be more complex than previous New World Aeternum zones. The quest tracker won't reveal your exact destination or quests; you'll need to complete your adventure on your own.
New Chapter Of The Main Story
This chapter, titled "The Tear of Gaea," continues the events of Elysian Wilds and tells the story of Morgaine, who is determined to escape the troubled land with Tear of Gaea and hide the treasure.
However, on her journey, Morgaine encounters an accident and loses the treasure. To recover it and defeat the forces that threaten it, Morgaine seeks the help of Soulwarden, the character you assume in the game's storyline.
To help her recover Tear of Gaea and thwart the conspiracy, you'll need to complete a series of main story quests. This will require exploring Nighthaven and interacting with its rulers and residents to uncover the truth.
New Catacombs Mode
To ensure continued enjoyment and rewards after completing the main storyline, New World Season 10 introduces a new mode, Catacombs.
This mode, accessible through the activity finder, presents itself as a dungeon for up to three players. Once you and your teammates enter the dungeon, you'll encounter a variety of enemies and bosses.
To successfully complete a round of Catacombs, you'll need to defeat them while collecting special power-ups to aid you, escape before the timer runs out, and purify the treasure.
Note that while the initial battles aren't difficult, as time passes, the challenges become more challenging with each boss you defeat - and fortunately, the rewards for victory increase.
To manage this difficulty, you'll need to not only collect as many power-ups as possible but also accurately understand your own and your team's current strength. If you're struggling after defeating a boss, you can evacuate early to avoid unnecessary losses.
However, even if your team accidentally ventures too deep into the dungeon and can't defeat all the enemies, ensuring at least one member of your team can leave will allow you to leave all the loot you've collected.
What makes Catacombs unique is that each new dungeon you enter, along with the enemies and rewards hidden within, is unique. Only through exploring it yourself can you truly understand the full potential.
Note that getting Catacombs rewards requires consuming two mode-specific currencies: Sterlings and Crowns. Sterlings can be found throughout the dungeon, but Crowns can only be obtained by defeating the second and subsequent bosses.
Once you have enough currency, travel to Nighthaven's settlement, Tularest Abbey, and find Catacombs Delver to redeem them.
New 10-Player Raid: Isle Of Night
This raid's overall gameplay and mechanics are similar to the classic New World Aeternum raid, Hive of Gorgons. It features many new enemy types and three new bosses, along with puzzles and encounters for you and your teammates to complete.
Compared to the previous new content, this raid is expected to be the most challenging in Season 10. To complete it, you'll need to improve your own abilities while ensuring your teammates are reliable and have good chemistry.
Other Changes
In addition to the new reward track expected in a new season, and more importantly to enhance your endgame combat experience, New World Aeternum Season 10 will also bring the following mechanics:
- The character level cap has been increased to 70.
- The gear score cap has been increased to 800.
- A new modding system, Perk Charms, has been added, allowing you to install charms with more slots to gain more combat benefits.
- New set bonuses will be available for completing Isle of Night raid, Catacombs, and PvP Track.
These are the main points we've introduced for this update. You can expect to discover more updates and optimizations through actual gameplay after Season 10 officially launches! Start preparing for the new season now!
In addition to gear awarded as rewards, you'll also need to earn new weapons and artifacts through your own efforts in Season 10 to take on the more dangerous enemies in the later stages of the game.
Some gear requires you to consume New World coins to obtain it. To save time farming coins and focus more on playing the new mode, we recommend that you obtain related services from the trusted New World coins store EZG.com!
