WoW Midnight Hotfixes April 29th: Affliction Warlock Soul Shard Fix, Restoration Shaman Damage Buff, Arms Warrior Deep Wounds Nerf

WoW Midnight's April 29 hotfixes correct Affliction Warlock Soul Shard consumption, add missing Restoration Shaman damage, and halve Arms Warrior Deep Wounds damage. Evoker, housing, and event fixes also included. This article summarizes the key changes.

Apr 30, 2026 Author: EZG

WoW Midnight received a batch of hotfixes on April 29th, aimed at resolving various issues affecting classes, systems, and gameplay.

These adjustments not only corrected skill logic errors and damage calculation discrepancies but also optimized some interactive experiences, eliminating unexpected advantages or disadvantages caused by bugs in WoW Midnight, making the combat environment closer to the design intent.

The following will break down these fixes in detail by module and analyze their specific impact on the actual gameplay experience.WoW Midnight Hotfixes April 29th: Affliction Warlock Soul Shard Fix, Restoration Shaman Damage Buff, Arms Warrior Deep Wounds Nerf

Class Mechanics Fixes

Class changes accounted for the largest proportion of this WoW Midnight hotfix, involving Evoker, Restoration Shaman, Affliction Warlock, and Arms Warrior specializations.

Evoker

Flameshaper specialization's Twin Flames skill previously had a potential issue: it would bounce to an enemy target before Evoker was in combat with that target. This could lead to unexpected engagement and unnecessary combat in multi-wave or complex aggro scenarios.

After the fix, Twin Flames will only bounce to targets already in combat with Evoker, significantly reducing the chance of accidentally aggroing mobs in open-world gear sets or dungeons.

Players who habitually use this skill for area-of-effect damage will need to pay closer attention to their combat status to avoid losing bounce damage because of insufficient targets.

The bug where Titan's Gift and Titanic Wrath were not properly boosting the final few ticks of Disintegrate's damage has also been corrected. Disintegrate, as a core channeled damage skill for Preservation and Devastation Evoker, has a significant portion of its damage distributed across the latter ticks.

Previously, these two buff talents lacked the bonus to the final few ticks, resulting in lower-than-expected burst damage.

After the fix, Evoker's full channeling benefit when triggering relevant buffs will be normalized with Restoration, especially with high haste gear, resulting in a stable increase in Disintegrate's overall damage.

Restoration Shaman

In patch 12.0.5, Restoration Shaman was supposed to receive a 30% total damage increase, but because of a coding bug, it only received about half that.

This hotfix adds an additional 12% damage, bringing the total increase to exactly 30% compared to the previous patch. This isn't adding new strength, but filling in the gaps in damage output.

For players using Restoration specialization for open-world quests, world quests, low-level Mythic+ dungeons, or PvP, this damage boost will significantly improve mob clearing efficiency and individual survivability.

In raid environments, Restoration Shamans will be even more valuable when supplementing a small amount of DPS. However, the numerical adjustment doesn't change its core healing role; it only reduces the frustration of feeling powerless when dealing damage.

Affliction Warlock

Fatal Echoes no longer incorrectly consume Soul Shards, making Warlock resource management more predictable and reducing instances of resource drops because of bad luck.

Unstable Affliction no longer consumes all stacks of Shard Instability at once; instead, it consumes only one stack per cast. Previously, a bug would clear all accumulated stacks with a single cast, severely reducing the benefits of high stacks.

After the fix, the sustained damage output curve of Affliction Warlock is smoother, and the burst quality at high stacks returns to design expectations.

These two fixes together improve the resource efficiency and output stability of Affliction specialization, significantly reducing damage variance for high-end players aiming for a perfect rotation.

Arms Warrior

Fervor of Battle's Slam now correctly triggers Mortal Wounds on critical strikes. Previously, this synergy was missing, causing Arms Warriors to lose a significant proportion of Overpower proc opportunities and bleed stacking efficiency with certain talent combinations.

After the fix, Mortal Wounds effect from Slam critical strikes will function correctly, increasing the actual benefit of Fervor of Battle talent and making Arms Warrior's rage conversion and Overpower rotation more consistent.

Deep Wounds damage from Execute has been halved. This means that the extra bleed damage dealt by Arms Warriors during Execute phase using Deep Wounds will return to normal levels.

For players accustomed to exploiting the double damage bug to achieve excessive damage, overall output during Execute phase will noticeably decrease. In the long run, Arms Warriors' damage output will need to rely more on other skills rather than the abnormal multipliers of a single talent.buy WoW Midnight Gold from EZG.com to update your gear and consumables

System Gameplay Optimizations

Neighborhood Housing, Decor Duel toys, profession synergies, and Void Assaults event in WoW Midnight have all received practical fixes.

Housing

Previously, some players found that Lost Animals no longer appeared in their weekly reward list after completing the quest once, resulting in a reduction in weekly Neighborhood rewards. After the fix, the quest will refresh on a normal cycle, ensuring stable participation for all players.

Decor Duel

Enchanted Hourglass toy now has a progress bar, and the timer is more closely aligned with the toy's actual duration. The addition of the progress bar makes status monitoring more intuitive and is a thoughtful improvement to the user experience.

Cooking Profession

Hearty Well Fed, as a high-level Hunger buff, should not have been overwritten or refreshed by lower-level standard Hunger foods. After this fix, players no longer need to worry about losing the high-level buff due to accidentally consuming regular food, saving time spent re-cooking or consuming rare materials. This fix also reduces the penalty for accidental actions in combat.

Item Attributes

Arms "Cosmic Hunter's Glaive" and "Fangs of the Invader" previously did not correctly provide the Intellect attribute to Devourer (caster) Demon Hunter. After this fix, caster Demon Hunter can use these Arms to obtain the full spell power benefit, filling a gap in gear selection.

Event Fixes

The following are some event-related fixes.

Midnight World Quest

Previously, during Sign of Emissary event, Midnight World Quest did not correctly provide additional reputation rewards. After this fix, players can normally enjoy the bonus when completing these quests, meaning that weekly reputation catch-up efficiency has returned to its designed value.

Void Assaults

Imperator Pertinax is no longer easily killed in Eversong Void Incursion. Previously, because of an error in its health or defense formula, this boss would often fall before its mechanics could even unfold, preventing players from experiencing the full combat or obtaining the expected loot.

After the fix, combat duration restoration is normal. Players need to pay attention to the boss's abilities, otherwise they may face a wipe.

Cosmic Slayer achievement counting bug has also been resolved: some players were not being counted for achievements even though they were in combat and dealt damage while fighting Void-Corrupted creatures.

After the fix, simply participating in the combat correctly and meeting the conditions will earn your progress, avoiding the frustration of repeatedly killing the boss without achieving the achievement.

WoW Midnight's hotfix on April 29, 2026, focused on correcting class mechanics while also fixing some system-level flaws.

Overall, this update eliminated many unexpected strength discrepancies and experience obstacles, bringing the game closer to its original design intent. Players should pay close attention to the resource cycle changes of their own class and re-evaluate the practical priority of some talents and skills.
