WoW TBC Classic Anniversary Phase 2 has been live for some time. In response to player feedback regarding the difficulty of the dungeons, the developers have nerfed the difficulty of T5 dungeons and officially renamed Phase 2 to Overlords of Outland.
The nerfed dungeons have been comprehensively streamlined in terms of health, skill mechanics, and environmental damage, making them arguably the easiest T5 dungeons in the series.
However, based on player feedback on Reddit and other player communities, many are still struggling with these two T5 dungeons.
With TBC Anniversary Phase 3 set to launch this summer, to help players quickly complete Phase 2 and accumulate the gold and resources needed for the next phase, we have summarized the following key tips based on actual gameplay testing.

Mob Management
Many players have likely experienced this: even after one-shotting the boss, they still spend a long time in the dungeon. Why is this?
This is because you waste too much time drinking potions. Especially for healers and spellcasters in the team, casting spells consumes mana, requiring constant mana consumption to replenish it. After all, mana is currently the cheapest consumable in the game; a basic mana potion costs only 1 Gold, and a larger one only 3-5 Gold.
Efficient Potion Use
However, this approach wastes too much time in dungeons. The most efficient strategy is to use potions between groups of mobs. Once one pack is down and the raid advances to the next, check if mana levels are low across the group. If so, stack on the tank and drink potions until everyone reaches 70–80% mana, then engage the mobs.
Warrior Coordination
In this situation, the team's DPS is weak, requiring warriors to defend and provide time for mana regeneration. Warriors can use Demoralizing Shout on each group of mobs.
Finally, for regular mobs, avoid using AoE spells on them while they are active.
By repeating this cycle and using every second to clear dungeons and farm mobs, you can significantly reduce unnecessary potion use and time spent, thus increasing dungeon clearing speed. This method works well for both SSC and TK in WoW TBC Classic Anniversary.
I will also provide corresponding strategies and techniques based on actual testing for the different characteristics of the two dungeons.
Serpentshrine Cavern
Since TBC Anniversary significantly reduced the health and damage of some bosses, the most efficient clearing strategy is as follows:
1. The Lurker Below
The Lurker Below can only be summoned by players with the fishing skill fishing in Strange Pool in the center of the pool.
Strategy
When it releases its 360-degree Spout, ranged classes and healers must immediately jump into the surrounding water to avoid it, while melee classes can move clockwise in the inner circle to dodge.
Finally, when the boss dives underwater and summons mobs on the surrounding platforms, you and your raid members can control and quickly clear them.
2. Hydross the Unstable
Hydross the Unstable has two forms: Frost and Nature. It will switch forms when it crosses the invisible dividing line between two banners on the ground.
Strategy
The raid needs at minimum one tank with Frost resistance and one tank with Nature resistance to alternate tanking duties.Since the boss's Aggro is cleared and four adds are summoned when its form changes, DPS must immediately stop attacking during tank swaps. The off-tank and Protection Paladin should hold the adds and prioritize clearing them.
3. Leotheras the Blind
Leotheras the Blind switches between Human and Demon forms.
Strategy
In Human form, Leotheras the Blind casts Whirlwind; melee players must immediately create distance. In Demon form, the boss unleashes a large-area fire attack, requiring a high fire resistance tank to withstand it.
Another key mechanic is that this boss will simultaneously exist in two forms when its health drops to 15%, requiring two tanks to hold each form while DPS rush the humanoid form.
4. Morogrim Tidewalker
In BCC Anniversary nerf, Morogrim Tidewalker's summoned murloc adds had their health significantly reduced, and AoE damage of its main skill, Earthquake, was also significantly reduced.
Strategy
Protection Paladins or off-tanks must establish Aggro immediately at the entrance or under the boss's feet. AoE classes like Mage and Warlock should quickly AoE the adds, while other classes such as Healers and DPS should spread out.
5. Fathom-Lord Karathress
Fathom-Lord Karathress was also nerfed; the health of its accompanying guards, Sharkkis, Caribbeanis, and Tidalvess, has been drastically reduced.
Strategy
You can drink Shadow Protection Potion to prevent being one-shotted by Cataclysmic Bolt. One Shadow Protection Potion costs 6-12 TBC Classic Gold on the auction house and is very helpful in the fight.
Leave Caribdis until last, prioritizing killing Karathress. Once Karathress is killed, Caribdis will bequickly eliminated. It's important to eliminate Tidalvess first to avoid Spitfire Totem causing unnecessary damage to the raid.
6. Lady Vashj
The key to defeating Lady Vashj is breaking her shield mechanism. Once you apply the proper strategy, you'll see it's less challenging than it may seem.
Strategy
Divide the raid into four quadrants. Each player should stay within their assigned quadrant and only attack the mobs closest to them.
Protection Paladins should apply Judgment of Wisdom to Naga and Strider to help the raid regenerate mana during phase transitions. In Phase 2, Warriors can activate Berserker Rage to become immune to fear for 10 seconds in melee range and inflict significant damage on Striders.
However, remember not to approach a Strider that is caught in a net, otherwise it will switch targets and instantly kill you.
Tempest Keep
TK bosses in TBC Anniversary have also been weakened to varying degrees. Not only has their health been reduced, but their damage has also been lowered. With the right strategies, a quick clear is entirely possible.
1. Al'ar
Divided into two phases. In Phase 1, the boss will rotate between high platforms and the ground around the room, summoning Ember of Al'ar; in Phase 2, it respawns on the ground for a fixed-point fight.
Strategy
Its Flame Buffet looks terrifying, but the damage in the first two layers is not fatal, so the tank has a high margin for error. In Phase 2, DPS should quickly rush down the respawned main body of the boss.
2. Void Reaver
Purely geared and a fixed-point boss. It will randomly throw Arcane Orbs at ranged locations, causing AoE silence and damage.
Strategy
Melee classes should fan out and focus on dealing damage. Ranged classes and healers should position themselves in a wide arc around the outer edge of the arena. When you spot an Arcane Orb descending overhead, shift two steps left or right to put some distance between you and it. This is essentially a free gear set for BCC Anniversary.
3. High Astromancer Solarian
The boss will frequently cast Wrath of the Astromancer on the entire raid and periodically vanish to spawn two waves of adds.
Strategy
In the current WoW TBC Classic Anniversary, Arcane Resistance is no longer an absolute necessity. Players targeted by Wrath of the Astromancer should leave the raid. After the adds spawn, use Protect Paladin Consecration to pull them, and mages and warlocks should quickly AoE them down.
4. Kael'thas Sunstrider
The normal fight consists of 5 phases: Phase 1 involves defeating the four main bosses; Phase 2 involves destroying the seven legendary weapons; and Phase 3 involves preventing the chaos caused by Conflagration.
Phase 4 is the showdown against Kael'thas himself, during which he summons Phoenixes, gains a Shock Barrier, and casts Mind Control. Finally, Phase 5 begins as Kael'thas takes to the air, triggering Gravity Lapse phase.
Strategy
Use stun abilities frequently in Phase 2 to stun the adds. Interrupt Kael'thas's Fireball the moment Phase 4 begins, as it will instantly kill any DPS or healer, resulting in significant damage to your raid.
These are the most efficient strategies for clearing the two dungeons after the nerfs. You should adapt to and complete T5 difficulty as soon as possible, as TBC Anniversary Phase 3 dungeons will only be more difficult.
Don't expect Blizzard to nerf the difficulty again and again. In fact, there hasn't been any real nerf. While dungeon difficulty has been reduced, have any players noticed that their gear has also been weakened?
In short, take action now!
