Jun 06, 2026 Author: EZG

Recently, MLB The Show 26's Diamond Dynasty mode welcomed its latest 4th Inning Program - something players have been eagerly anticipating!

4th Inning Program is the fourth installment, and it boasts exciting content, giving players the chance to earn tons of Stubs, various card packs, and high-scoring player cards.

Below, I'll provide a detailed introduction to 4th Inning Program and tips for quickly accumulating XP.MLB The Show 26 Fans Have 34 Days to Claim These Elite Free Cards - Don't Miss 4th Inning Program

4th Inning Program Introduction

Inning Program is like a pass in MLB 26; players accumulate XP by playing matches and completing tasks, earning various rewards.

This time, we're seeing the fourth installment of Inning Program, which has three key features:

Duration

4th Inning Program lasts a full 34 days - longer than previous installments, about a week longer.

Why longer? It's likely the development team is laying the groundwork for All-Star Game-related events. 5th Inning Program is expected to launch around All-Star Week, so this extra time provides players with more preparation time.

Reward Card

The most exciting part of 4th Inning Program is that the first player card you can get is Mike Piazza, a 95 OVR All-Star.

Mike Piazza is widely recognized as one of the top catchers in MLB history and a Hall of Famer. No MLB 26 player dislikes his swing; it's incredibly fluid. Players familiar with MLB 26 know that a "good swing" is often more important than simply piling on stats.

Furthermore, this card boasts a batting average of 113 against left-handed pitchers (out of a maximum of 125) and 95 against right-handed pitchers. Such offensive firepower is rare in the catcher's position, a position with heavy defensive responsibilities.

While his defensive stats aren't top-tier, in reality, with so many outfielders in the current MLB 26 league with 99 speed, defense has become a difficult task. Most players prefer offensively strong player cards over defensively strong ones.

In this list of rewards, we need to focus on three rewards. The first is Mike Piazza, mentioned above; the second is 96 OVR All-Star Steve Carlton; and the third is the 4th Inning Boss Choice Pack (1 of 2).

96 OVR All-Star Steve Carlton – 220,000 XP

Steve Carlton was a legendary left-handed pitcher in real life. Although he's not a top-tier left-handed pitcher in the game, this 96 overall rating card is free to obtain, so what more can we ask for?

4th Inning Boss Choice Pack (1 of 2)

This is the ultimate reward of this Inning Program. You can choose one of the following two core players with a 97 overall rating to take home:

  • Rafael Devers
  • Roger Clemens

Based on community feedback, Roger Clemens is the more popular choice because this card has Outlier skill. This skill allows his fastball to easily break 100 mph.

How to Quickly Accumulate XP?

So, how do you quickly accumulate 400,000 XP in MLB 26?

According to calculations by the player community, to obtain 400,000 XP, you need to maintain an average weekly XP acquisition rate of approximately 100,000. However, you can only reliably obtain around 40,000 XP per week through fixed missions - the remaining gap must be filled by actively completing various Program Missions.

In fact, on the day 4th Inning Program launched, MLB 26 simultaneously released a batch of missions.

For example, accumulating 500 PXP using a Cornerstone Series player will earn you 5,250 XP; accumulating 2,000 PXP using a Spotlight Series player will earn you 7,500 XP; achieving 50 hits in Weekend Classic or Ranked will earn you 7,500 XP, and so on.

In short, by completing these tasks, you can gain a large amount of XP. However, there are techniques to completing tasks, and learning to use these techniques will allow you to accumulate XP faster.

For example, you need to learn to "stack" tasks - this is the most important technique. Don't play a game focusing solely on completing one task; you should include players with different task requirements in your starting lineup simultaneously.

This way, you can accumulate data for three or four different tasks in one game, effectively doubling your efficiency.
