In Diamond Dynasty of MLB The Show 26, building a powerful team requires strong players. However, most strong players are difficult to acquire, either requiring specific tasks or conditions to complete, or necessitating a large number of Stubs.
Building a powerful team easily sounds like a pipe dream, right? Not at all. With proper planning and time investment, you can acquire one of the game's most sought-after second basemen - Ketel Marte - at a very low cost.
This guide will walk you step-by-step to achieve this dream, making it easy for any player to obtain Ketel Marte.
Get 18 Player Cards for Free
To redeem Ketel Marte, you need to collect 27 specific player cards as "tickets." The good news is that 18 of these player cards can be obtained for free by completing various single-player missions within MLB 26. Here's how:
Programs
Programs are the core progression system of Diamond Dynasty. Completing objectives within them will earn you rewards. These tasks are usually quite straightforward, such as accumulating 47 Total Bases, 18 Strikeouts, and 31 Hits with any player.
This seems difficult, but you can accumulate attempts simultaneously across multiple modes. As a reward for completing the tasks, you'll receive 5 required player cards and a card pack - which can contain random players, and with luck, you might get the card you need directly.
Conquest
While completing the above tasks, you can simultaneously play Conquest mode. In this mode, players need to expand their territory on a map, recruit fans, and ultimately attack their opponents.
After completing a Conquest map, you'll not only receive a Deluxe Vintage Pack and a card pack with a selectable player, but also a Nolan Arenado with a 93 overall rating - another free high-powered player.
Diamond Quest
In MLB 26's Diamond Quest, players need to choose different paths, making trade-offs between risk and reward. Completing Diamond Quest will reward you with several free player cards.
Events
Recent Events are also not to be missed, offering substantial rewards: earning 10 stars in Events will get you a Gleyber Torres player card, plus another card pack.
Mini Seasons
Finally, don't forget Mini Seasons! Here, you'll have the chance to acquire powerful players like Matt Strahm and earn a large amount of XP.
Note that if you participate in Mini Seasons using Vintage Series Players and earn a certain amount of XP, you'll also receive an additional card pack.
Don't forget, MLB The Show 26 has a Double XP Weekend mechanism, so you only need to choose one weekend to complete this, making it twice as efficient.
Collections
When you collect a certain number of the aforementioned player cards, the system will also give you additional rewards through Collections mechanism.
For example, when you collect 12 and 20 cards, you'll receive Joc Pederson and Leo Jiménez respectively. At this point, including all the cards you've obtained from previous modes, you'll have a total of 18 free cards.
Tips
You can prioritize Missions while simultaneously participating in Conquests or Mini Seasons.
This way, you can accumulate hits to complete Programs, farm XP for your player cards to complete Mini Seasons missions, and expand your territory to complete Conquests all in the same game. This is the most efficient method.
Additionally, Events require you to enter online mode, where your opponents are real players, making the competition fierce.
You can first build a comfortable team in single-player mode before participating in Events, which will increase your competitiveness against other players. Of course, if you're highly skilled, you can directly play Events.
Get 9 Cards with Stubs
The remaining 9 player cards cannot be obtained for free; you need to acquire them through Stubs in MLB 26 Market. Therefore, you need to accumulate a certain number of Stubs.
However, this doesn't mean there are no tricks. Actually, your goal in collecting these nine cards is simply to acquire Ketel Marte, so you don't need to spend a lot of Stubs to get those exceptional cards; just use them.
You can go directly to Community Market, find Vintage series in the filter, and sort by price from low to high, specifically looking for player cards priced around 4,000 Stubs.
According to community players' tests, acquiring these nine cheapest cards will cost approximately 100,000 Stubs in total.
A special reminder: if you're lucky enough to get a high-value card like Teoscar Hernández in a card pack while collecting free cards, you can directly put them on the market to exchange for Stubs. If you're lucky enough, you might even get 100,000 Stubs directly.
Alternatively, you can start by using tens of thousands of Stubs to acquire four or five cards worth around 4,000 Stubs each, and then add them to your lineup to play. This way, while you're farming free cards, you're also farming XP for those cards - a win-win situation.
