Race for Demigod Glory! Path of Exile 2 Last of the Druids Race Event Goes Live With SSF Racing & Exclusive Rewards

Path of Exile 2 Last of the Druids Race Event will release on March 29, 2026. Are you eager to participate? This guide will provide a detailed breakdown of the event and plan the most suitable class for beginners.

Feb 27, 2026 Author: EZG

The competitive arena of Path of Exile 2 is about to heat up again. The developers have officially announced that Last of the Druids, launching in December 2025, will feature a brand-new Race Event, bringing a fast-paced competitive experience and exclusive rewards.

For experienced racers, this is a completely new game mechanic waiting to be explored. For newcomers, it's undoubtedly one of the best ways to get started with Path of Exile 2 racing.Race for Demigod Glory! Path of Exile 2 Last of the Druids Race Event Goes Live With SSF Racing & Exclusive Rewards

This guide will take you through the details and see what makes this event so appealing!

Race Format

Last of the Druids Race Event requires players to be the first to defeat Tavakai in Act IV under Solo Self-Found rules. Trading and team play are prohibited during the event, ensuring that victory depends entirely on individual skill, route planning, and character build.

The game uses a fixed Fate of Vaal layout, meaning the map layout is not randomly generated. This significantly lowers the barrier to entry, allowing you to practice routes and refine your strategies beforehand.

It's also worth noting that while this event is not a Hardcore Event, the penalties for death are very severe. Any player who dies cannot move for 2.5 minutes, enough time to completely eliminate any chance of competing for a top ranking.

Therefore, when attacking, you must always be vigilant, prioritize survival, and remember not to act recklessly.

Participation Time

Last of the Druids Race Event consists of three independent events, all starting simultaneously worldwide:

  • Event 1: March 29, 2026, 12:00 PM Pacific Time
  • Event 2: April 5, 2026, 1:00 PM Pacific Time
  • Event 3: April 12, 2026, 1:00 PM Pacific Time

Leaders will also be published during the competition, allowing viewers and participants to track the progress in real time or view their best results after each event.

Exclusive Rewards

Having discussed the brutality of this competition, let's look at the generous rewards. In each event, the top performer in each class will receive the unique item, Demigod's Virtue. There are currently eight playable classes, including the newly added Druid, meaning each race will reward eight Demigod Virtue items.

These Demigod items will be part of the game's long-term collection plan. Future races will rotate different Demigod rewards, eventually allowing players to assemble a complete armor and weapon set. Skilled and high-performing players will eventually have the opportunity to collect the entire set.

Upon race completion, rewards are delivered via a Remove-Only stash tab added to the player's core leagues. Winners can equip the item, display it as a trophy, or share it with other players to redeem Path of Exile 2 Currency.

If you only want to use it as a cosmetic item, you can use the chat command /convertracereward to convert it into a microtransaction item.Path of Exile 2 Displates

Additionally, across all three races, the fastest lap timer in each class will receive one of the Official Path of Exile 2 Displates, while the player with the fastest overall lap time will have the honor of designing a Divination Card.

Rules

Participation in these competitions is completely free, and there is no limit to the number of entries. Skilled players will earn multiple Demigod's Virtue across the three competitions. However, to ensure fairness and professionalism, strict naming rules apply. Inappropriate or rule-breaking character names will result in disqualification, including account names used for streaming.

This competition also introduces balance restrictions for specific events for the first time. Due to unresolved interaction issues with Oil Grenade, the skills Incinerate and Flame Breath are disabled in Gemcutting menu; however, the developers expect to fix this issue in version 0.5.0.

What's different about this competition?

Thanks to Patch 0.4.0 update, Path of Exile 2 speedrun mechanics will be fundamentally redesigned. The latest class, Druid has four morph forms: Human, Bear, Wolf, and Wyvern, along with 21 new active skills and over 30 new support gems, not to mention significant balance adjustments affecting over level 90 skills and multiple ascendancies.

For speedrunners, this means a completely new game environment. Previously effective upgrade paths are no longer guaranteed to succeed, while players who know when to attack and when to dodge can experience explosive growth.

How should beginners choose their class?

While it's not recommended for beginners to challenge this competition, as the consequences of death are severe, participating is still an option for adventurous players.

Start by choosing your class. While each class is competitive, Patch 0.4.0 clearly positions Druid as the best choice for speedrunners.

Druid can instantly transform with no cooldown. Human-form spells remain effective after transformation and can stack damage from other forms. Wolf form provides speed and mobility for clearing mobs, Bear form offers survivability and a very high margin for error, and Wyvern form allows for safe ranged attacks on bosses.

This flexibility makes it easier for novice players to recover from mistakes and adapt to different situations. Other beginner-friendly alternatives include Ranger for safe ranged play and Warrior for straightforward melee durability, but neither matches the Druid's versatility in Patch 0.4.0.

That concludes this episode of Path Of Exile 2 Last of the Druids Race Event. Good luck to all participants!
