PoE 2 players have thoroughly explored Patch 0.5. From hidden gear acquisition methods to special crafting mechanics, and various Easter eggs intentionally left by the developers, the community has been acting as archaeologists, uncovering the game's seemingly insignificant details bit by bit.
But just when everyone thought most of the content had been cracked, GGG released news that reignited players' excitement: there are still two hidden interactions in PoE 2 that haven't been discovered yet.
This announcement immediately put the community to work again. After all, the most interesting aspect of PoE series has never been simply grinding for gear, but the fact that you never know if an inconspicuous NPC, a strange item, or even a boss's action might conceal a completely different path.
As the launch of Patch 1.0 approaches, players are still trying to uncover the identities of these two undiscovered secrets. Currently, the most discussed areas are hidden ascendancy, special quest rewards, and some seemingly unusual interaction mechanics.

Top Suspicion: Queen's Procession
If players were to vote now, the hidden Ritualist node would likely be number one. The reason is simple: the clue is far too obvious.
Ritualist Ascendancy Tree already contains a node named Queen's Procession, yet even after the release of Patch 0.5, players have not found any method to access it.
For PoE 2 players, this is highly suspicious. It's rare for developers to simply place a fully designed node without any explanation.
More importantly, Ritualist Ascendancy revolves entirely around Sacrifice and King. One of its abilities allows players to consume rare monsters through sacrifice, gaining the modifiers attached to them in the process.
This naturally leads many players to think of Mists-related content.
After all, Queen, King, and Ritual in Mists gameplay are closely linked. The name Devotion to King almost vehemently suggests a connection to King of Mists.
The prevailing speculation in the community is that players might need to use a Ritualist's special ability to sacrifice a specific monster or meet some hidden condition to unlock this node. Some even speculate that the target might be Queen of Mists or King of Mists.
However, there's a problem here. If it were simply a matter of "defeating a Mists boss and unlocking the node," given the current level of player exploration, someone should have discovered it long ago. Therefore, if this secret exists, the triggering method is unlikely to be that simple.
It's more likely to involve a combination of conditions, such as using a specific Ascendancy, carrying special affixes, performing a sacrifice in a specific area, or even requiring some unexpected interaction in Return of the Ancients.
Of course, there's also a more realistic but disappointing possibility: it's simply a bug. This is not uncommon in PoE 2; some mechanics aren't inaccessible to players, but rather are bugs that require official fixing.
Second Speculation: The Gifted Crossbows
Besides Ritualists, Crossbows-related content is also a popular betting direction among players. In Return of the Ancients, information about Crossbows appears in PoE 2 files, but players cannot fully experience it during normal gameplay. This is consistent with the official practice - things are included in the game, but no explicit answers are given.
The key character is NPC Mortimer who appears in Act 1. Players discover that when facing The Bloated Miller in Act 1, if they use Crossbows in combat, Mortimer appears near the city gate. He reappears at the beginning of Act 2. Meanwhile, a Crossbows weapon named Gatecrasher also exists in PoE 2 data.
These clues together make it hard not to speculate: Is there some hidden route in Act 1, and after completing it, Mortimer gives the player Crossbows in Act 2?
Some players have even started designing outrageous challenges, such as completing all Act 1 without dying, using mercenaries, equipping no regular weapons, using no gems, and ensuring all Crossbows attacks are flawless.
It sounds like self-torture, but this method of constant investigation and testing might actually uncover the two hidden secrets mentioned by the developers. After all, many hidden content items were discovered through PoE 2 players trying various strange methods.
If the developers want to leave an Easter egg similar to Oni-Goroshi before 1.0, Crossbows questline is indeed a very reasonable direction. For players, hidden equipment, rare rewards, and the accumulation of Path of Exile 2 Currency have always been important motivators for exploring these secrets.
Third Speculation: Uhtred's Mirror
Besides Ascendancy and weapons, there's another thing that players have always felt is off.
That's Expedition Boss Uhtred. After defeating him normally, he doesn't die immediately but retreats into the mirror and leaves. The problem is there's a short countdown timer next to the mirror.
The existence of such a mechanic has left many players questioning whether it serves a hidden purpose rather than being a simple visual feature.
If it's just a normal cutscene, why add a countdown timer? Why not just end it directly? Therefore, some believe that the mirror might have hidden interactions, requiring players to attack it before the countdown ends, or to bring certain special equipment into the battle.
Some have even tried bringing special items or using a shield to attack the mirror, hoping to trigger the hidden effect, but there haven't been any successful cases in Return of the Ancients.
However, this speculation isn't entirely unfounded. PoE 2 used to favor this design: the boss appears to have ended, but there's actually another layer of content waiting for players to discover.
So, Uhtred's storyline is indeed not as simple as a normal cutscene.
Fourth Speculation: Vaal Statue
Another object of players' suspicion is the vaal statue in Expedition.
Some players reported finding a destructible and interactive vaal statue in a frozen area, but nothing happened after interacting with it. This only fueled their suspicions.
This is because developers rarely add interactive buttons to environmental objects casually. If something can be interacted with but provides no feedback, it's either obsolete or contains a hidden mechanic.
In Patch 0.5, players speculated that it might involve Ritualist sacrifice, special quest items, or some hidden condition.
While the evidence is limited, PoE 2 players know that sometimes the strangest things are the answers.

Whether these secrets will be revealed before Patch 1.0 arrives is uncertain. However, it's certain that the developers have once again successfully prompted players to investigate seemingly insignificant details they might have passed by dozens of times without noticing.
