Gold Making Methods for Beginners
If you're a new player or have just created an alt, the following recommended gold farming locations cover all levels from 1 to 20. These locations will allow you to easily accumulate initial gold while leveling up, without slowing you down, and will help you build a solid economic foundation before entering Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary.
Levels 1 - 5
Location:
Alliance: Elwynn Forest
Horde: Durotar, Mulgore, Tirisfal Glades
Monster Type: Humanoid
Main Rewards:
Linen Cloth
vendor trash
small amount of Copper
Humanoids spawn very quickly and are abundant in this area, making it ideal for acquiring Linen Cloth. Linen Cloths are in high demand early in the game and circulates quickly on the auction house. Here you can not only level up quickly and accumulate experience points, but also build up starting capital for your character.
Levels 5 - 10
Location:
Alliance: Elwynn Forest
Horde: Mulgore, Tirisfal Glades
Monster Type: Wolf
Main Rewards:
Stringy Wolf Meat
Small Egg
Stringy Wolf Meat is an important ingredient for early cooking. Many players upgrade their Cooking Profession at low levels, making this item very popular on the auction house.
Small Eggs dropped by birds in the vicinity can also be used for cooking. Although relatively inexpensive, they are easy to obtain and respawn quickly, making them quite substantial to accumulate during leveling.
At this stage, you should choose some professions to maximize your gold earnings. Skinning and Mining are both very suitable for beginners, as they will help you accumulate resources in the early stages of the game.
Level 10 - 14
Location:
Alliance: Westfall
Horde: Barrens
Monster Type: Humanoid
Main Rewards:
Linen Cloth
Wool Cloth
Green Items
Silver
Light Feather
This gold making spot is perfect for players level 10–14. Humanoids will be a stable source of gold, from which you can obtain large amounts of Linen Cloth and Wool Cloth.
Wool Cloth is in high demand in Tailoring and First Aid, and circulates quickly on the auction house. Light Feather can be used to upgrade multiple class abilities, so it can fetch a good price.
Levels 14 - 16
Location:
Alliance: Loch Modan
Horde: Silverpine Forest
Monster Types: Troggs, Loch Modan
Main Rewards:
Wool Cloth
green items
vendor trash
Silver
These locations have a very high monster density and a very fast respawn rate, making them ideal for continuous mob pulling. You'll have almost no downtime here; it's all about constant fighting, looting, and steadily accumulating gold while gaining experience. It's an outstanding balance between leveling up and making gold efficiently.
Levels 16 - 18
Location:
Alliance: Westfall, Darkshore
Horde: Barrens
Monster Types: Murlocs
Main Rewards:
Clam Meat
Iridescent Pearl
green items
Silver
After looting on land, shift your focus to the coastline. This spawn point primarily farms Murlocs and Clams. A word of caution: it's recommended to open every clam you catch, as it has a chance to drop an Iridescent Pearl, a very valuable item.
This making method doesn't rely on any Professor; it simply involves continuous killing and looting, making it suitable for classes with AoE (area of effect) abilities.
Levels 17 - 20
Location: Redridge Mountains
Monster Type: Dire Condor
Main Reward:
Tough Condor Meat
Tough Condor Meat is highly sought after; it's essential for Badlands Inhabitants quest, which requires 5 pieces per run. Because few players specifically make this item, its price is considerable. While killing Dire Condors, you can also kill Murlocs along the nearby coastline to further increase your rewards.
Level 18 - 20
Location: Stonetalon Mountains, Sishir Canyon
Monster Type: Spiders
Main Reward:
Spider Silk
This area is hyper-spawn, so if you play it well, you can earn gold very efficiently. While the drop rate of Spider Silkfrom a single spider is low, the number you can kill per hour is enormous, resulting in very stable overall earnings. Spider Silk is an important material for tailoring and first aid supplies, so demand is very high in the early game.
However, many players overlook its value due to the low yield of Spider Silk, making this a very low-competition farming spot and a severely underrated, highly efficient gold making location. It's perfect for players looking for a simple, repeatable, and efficient way to make gold while leveling up.
Advanced Gold Making Methods
If you already have a certain initial accumulation, such as a stable gold balance of around 2000-4000, you can further develop a new profession to earn even more money. Alchemy is the preferred choice here.
Why Alchemy?
First, Alchemy has a very low start-up cost. Many materials are almost useless wild herbs, making the cost nearly zero. Furthermore, the potions you make can be traded with merchants, so you're basically not losing money.
Moreover, if you discover a high-value recipe, you can produce it in large quantities, making it a stable, long-term way to earn money. In addition, Super Mana Potions and healing/damage potions are always in demand, allowing you to quickly earn gold without relying on the auction house.
Gold-Making Path
After choosing Alchemy, you can obtain gold by gathering raw materials in the wild to make potions or by killing monsters. Initially, you only need to make popular trainer recipes like Super Mana Potion. If you discover powerful elixirs, only make those powerful elixirs and rely on critical hits to make big money.
Once you have a stable source of funds, you can learn Jewelcrafting, one of the most profitable professions in TBC Anniversary. However, upgrading Jewelcrafting is very expensive, so make sure you have sufficient capital.
Once you start Jewelcrafting, as long as you play normally, gold will flow into your character continuously. At this point, you can consider learning essential skills in WoW TBC, such as Flight.
This guide covers methods for quickly making gold before TBC Anniversary. Having a lot of gold is always a good thing, as it ensures you won't have to worry about survival for at least a while after entering the new era. Have fun playing!
