Most survival games allow you to carry hundreds of items in a magical backpack, but Romestead is different. You need to manually pick up and carry resources, then place them where needed. When creating a character in Romestead, you can choose from eight professions: Gladiator, Lobber, Miner, Scholar, Legionary, Mechanicus, Phalanx, and Woodcutter.

Each profession provides a +5 bonus to a specific skill and a set of starting gear. Your profession doesn't limit your playstyle, so don't overthink it. All skills can be maxed out regardless of your choice; the profession simply gives you an advantage in certain areas.

For new players, Mechanicus and Woodcutter are the easiest professions to pick up in the early game, as building and resource gathering will be your main activities in the first few hours. Biomes and World Generation Works

Each Romestead campaign generates a unique world based on the seed set by the player at the start. Although procedurally generated, all worlds contain the same five biomes: Plains, Forest, Desert, Volcano, and Swamp, with difficulty roughly increasing in that order. • Plains: The initial biome, containing basic resources, tutorial content, and your first villagers.
• Forest: Located outside the plains, very dense, with unique buildings and more powerful enemies.
• Desert: Significantly more difficult, resources are scarce, and most enemies will attack you on sight.
• Volcano: Enemies in this region are numerous and challenging; players should be well-prepared.
• Swamp: Connected by a river, divided into two areas. Resources and enemies overlap with other biomes.

Remember, your spawn point is never the best place to build your first town. You need to scout the center of Romestead map, looking for locations near coal mines, suitable water sources for building mills, and at the intersection of multiple biomes. God Worship System Work

Building an altar is one of the primary goals of Romestead tutorial, and Altar is key to your progress throughout the game. At Altar, you can offer items to worship specific gods. Each offering fills an energy bar associated with a particular god. A full energy bar grants 1 Worship Point, which can be used to obtain permanent character buffs.

Gods initially appear in shadow form. Once the energy bar is full, the god's form is unlocked. Romestead Items you offer determine which god will accept your worship.

Getting Started Tips

Recruit Citizens Carefully

As you explore Romestead, you will encounter some lost Romans who can be recruited back to your settlement. However, two types of citizens are dangerous and should be avoided. The first type is the citizen with Gluttonous Perk, which greatly increases your food consumption.

The second type is the citizen with Disloyal Perk, whose loyalty grows 50% slower than normal citizens, and the time required to reach +20 skill levels is doubled.

Always Carry A Tent

At the start of Romestead, you need to go to the leatherworker to craft a tent and place it in your inventory. Before entering a dungeon or challenging a boss, you can place the tent outside the entrance. This way, even if you die, you will respawn nearby without having to trek to the other side of the map. After the battle, switch to furniture mode to pick up the tent.

Gear Up Steadily

If your gears lag behind other players, you will have a very difficult time in the game. Instead of sticking to the initial gears, gradually upgrade your gear levels.

Legendary items have additional attribute bonuses and are the most powerful gear in the game. They are almost essential in Volcanic Biome.

Build Roads Early

Building and paving roads in Romestead is free. Once you discover distant resource nodes, such as clay deposits, connect them as soon as possible. Picking up Road Maker favor will double your road-building speed.

Automate Food Production with Logistics Tent

Logistics tent drops after defeating Cyclops boss in the desert biome. It connects various buildings, allowing them to automatically transfer resources downstream in the production chain while you're exploring. The basic bread production chain is as follows:

• Farmstead produces wheat
• Watermill grinds wheat into flour
• Bakery turns flour into bread
• Food Storage fills automatically

The bakery currently only produces 10 loaves per order and requires manual reordering, so plan your food storage accordingly. For more advanced foods, you can plan new supply lines around target dishes.
