Last Epoch Season 5: Rage of the Frostborn launches on October 1 at 16:00 UTC, coinciding with the start of First Blood Pinnacle Race.

This race centers on the new Pinnacle Boss - God of Bloodshed, also known as Pinnacle Morditas.

Players must use eligible Seasonal Online Solo characters to progress through the endgame and compete for the first kill within their specific class and mode.

Last Epoch Season 5 First Blood Race: 10 First-Kill Categories, Rewards, and the Pinnacle Morditas Route

When does First Blood Start?

First Blood begins on October 1 at 16:00 UTC, aligning with the official launch of Season 5. The event runs for two weeks, which is also the window for obtaining Blood Seeker title.

However, not every first-kill category will remain open until the final day. Once first kills have been achieved for all five classes in both Normal and Hardcore modes, the race objectives are complete.

Players aiming to win First Blood must therefore progress rapidly through leveling, Monoliths, Corruption, and the boss route after the servers go live. Efficient management of gear, crafting materials, and Last Epoch gold can also reduce unnecessary delays during early progression.

How does First Blood Work?

In Last Epoch Season 5, First Blood is divided into Online Normal Solo Challenge and Online Hardcore Solo Challenge.

Each category is further broken down by Acolyte, Mage, Primalist, Rogue, and Sentinel, resulting in 10 standard first-kill categories (5 classes × 2 modes).

Participating characters must use either Solo Account Found (SAF) or Solo Character Found (SCF). These solo modes do not create separate reward categories; SAF Mages and SCF Mages compete for the same Normal or Hardcore Mage first kill.

SAF characters share a Stash and Item Faction progress within the same season and game mode, whereas SCF characters do not share Stash or Faction progress. This affects gear accumulation and progression strategy, but not the first-kill category.

First kills are tracked by base class, so choosing a Mastery does not create additional reward categories. Normal and Hardcore are independent, meaning each class has two separate first-kill results. A single account can only claim Enraged Legend Supporter Pack once.

First Blood Rewards

In Last Epoch Season 5, First Blood-related rewards include a login reward and first-kill rewards.

Blood Seeker title is granted by logging into Season 5 within the first two weeks; defeating Pinnacle Morditas is not required.

The announcement specifies only logging into Season 5 and does not clarify whether Legacy Characters count, so it remains unconfirmed whether Legacy players can obtain the title through login alone.

The first-kill reward is Enraged Legend Supporter Pack. There is one standard winning slot for each of the five Classes in both Normal and Hardcore modes.

If two players achieve the first kill in the same category simultaneously, both will receive the reward, meaning the total number of winners could theoretically exceed ten.

How to Reach Pinnacle Morditas?

In Last Epoch Season 5, the greatest time pressure in First Blood comes from the endgame progression required to access Pinnacle Encounter.

Players must progress through Rage of Morditas encounters and complete the corresponding Woven Echo Chain to challenge the standard version of Morditas.

Defeating this boss yields Woven Echo: Demigod's Ascendance, which unlocks God of Bloodshed encounter - Pinnacle Morditas fight.

Demigod's Ascendance requires 400 Corruption to be placed into Echo Web.

Fast Campaign leveling alone is insufficient; the build must also progress consistently through Monoliths and high Corruption.

Reaching 400 Corruption is a critical filter. Even a high-damage boss build can lose its advantage through slow clearing, poor stability, or late gear progression. Saving enough Last Epoch gold for Stash expansion, passive respecs, and other progression expenses can make mid-run adjustments easier.

Once unlocked, Pinnacle Morditas does not continue scaling with Corruption. EHG describes the encounter as part of the difficulty progression toward Uber Aberroth, so pushing beyond 400 Corruption does not make First Blood boss harder.

First Blood Rules

In Last Epoch Season 5, characters must belong to the current Season, be Online Characters, and have SAF or SCF enabled. The event requires solo play; grouped characters are ineligible.

Accounts must be in good standing. Accounts with active bans or Code of Conduct violations cannot claim rewards. EHG employees and community testers may participate but cannot receive Supporter Pack.

Players do not need to record a full video as proof. EHG will track Pinnacle Morditas kills directly and verify results for each class and mode through system data.

Best Class For First Blood?

It is premature to determine the best class for First Blood before the final Season 5 balance changes are fully implemented.

The race involves leveling, Monoliths, Corruption pushing, standard Morditas, and Pinnacle Morditas, so early leveling is only one part of the route. A build that requires excessive gear investment or frequent Last Epoch gold spending to respec may also lose time during the transition into higher Corruption.

A practical approach is to evaluate the full progression chain: how quickly a build enters Monoliths, how easily it meets gear requirements, its clearing efficiency between 200 and 400 Corruption, and whether it has enough single-target damage and survivability for Pinnacle Morditas.

Hardcore places greater emphasis on consistency. Death ends the character's race, so defensive layers, resistances, recovery, and familiarity with Morditas' mechanics all matter. Normal allows a more aggressive focus on speed and damage, though frequent deaths still cost time.

Route planning also matters. Players should prepare skill progression, transitional gear, Monolith node choices, and Corruption pacing in advance to reduce time lost to gear swaps or rebuilding.

Last Epoch Monolith

In Last Epoch, First Blood tests the entire season-start process. Leveling, Monolith progression, 400 Corruption threshold, and Pinnacle Morditas all matter; a slowdown at any stage can affect the race.

For competitors, planning a complete progression path is more practical than chasing maximum speed during one phase.
