Last Epoch Season 5 Guide: Rage of Morditas Mechanics, Faction Reworks, New Skills, and Uniques

Last Epoch Season 5 launches October 1 with Rage of Morditas, major Circle of Fortune and Merchant's Guild reworks, three new skills, Morditas pinnacle boss, and new chase Uniques that expand endgame farming and build options.

Sep 20, 2026 Author: EZG

Last Epoch Season 5 Rage of the Frostborn launches on October 1st.

This season focuses on Rage of Morditas seasonal mechanic, reworks to Circle of Fortune and Merchant's Guild factions, a new Pinnacle Boss, three new skills, and a batch of new Unique items.

These changes will directly impact gear farming, trading, crafting, and endgame progression - particularly by offering more diverse paths for acquiring high-tier gear.

Last Epoch Season 5 Guide: Rage of Morditas Mechanics, Faction Reworks, New Skills, and Uniques

Rage of Morditas Mechanics

Rage of Morditas event appears in both Campaign and Echoes. Once Last Epoch event begins, players must defeat as many enemies as possible within a limited time.

A progress bar on the right features five thresholds; reaching each stage grants one Bloodrage Charge and a random buff. There are currently 28 types of buffs available, and they can stack.

After the first stage concludes, previously defeated enemies reappear. Upon completing the combat, players enter a reward interface with five slots; Bloodrage Charges can be used to modify the final rewards.

Bloody Ritual removes a reward slot and prevents that specific item type from appearing in subsequent rewards. For example, removing Relic ensures no further Relics spawn, thereby narrowing the loot pool. Affected items gain Bloodforging Potential, which increases the chance of a Critical Success during crafting.

Frozen Ritual locks the item type of a specific slot.

Locking Amulet, for instance, ensures subsequent rewards continue to generate Amulets while attempting to retain similar affixes (though affix tiers will not necessarily match).

Affected items possess Iceforging Potential, offering a chance to craft without consuming Forging Potential.

Unlike Nemesis system, this activity takes place entirely within the current zone, and players cannot contribute their own gear to the process.

For players preparing multiple builds in Season 5, keeping enough Last Epoch gold available can still help cover other gearing and trading needs outside the mechanic.

Morditas Pinnacle Boss

By repeatedly completing Rage of Morditas events, Last Epoch players can encounter Morditas. Defeating him yields a Woven Echo containing a fixed-difficulty version of the boss: Morditas, God of Bloodshed.

This Echo requires 400 Corruption to be placed into Echo Web. The development team positions this encounter between Aberroth and Uber Aberroth to bridge the difficulty gap between the two.

Circle of Fortune Rework

In  Last Epoch, Circle of Fortune faction no longer requires players to repeatedly refresh Prophecies in search of specific target rewards. In Season 5, players can select their desired rewards directly from a list; the higher Faction Rank, the more options become available.

The four Telescopes remain. The function of Favor has changed; instead of primarily being used to reroll Prophecies, it now influences Charge accumulation and the efficiency of Prophecy triggers.

This streamlines the target farming process for CoF.

Merchant's Guild Rework

Merchant's Guild now features Automatic Price Suggestions, where the system recommends prices based on actual transaction history, making it easier for players to judge how much Last Epoch gold an item may realistically sell for.

When listing items, players can set an Initial Price, Minimum Price, price reduction rate, and the magnitude of each reduction; the system then automatically adjusts the selling price over time.

Access to Bazaar is also being simplified - players no longer need to search for individual stalls - and search filters will now include options for the number of T6 and T7 Affixes.

Nexus and Traveler's Rest

Last Epoch Season 5 introduces Nexus menu, consolidating content such as Monoliths, Activities, Factions, Dungeons, Arena, and Morditas into a single interface, while also allowing players to view their Dungeon Key counts directly.

Traveler's Rest zones between Echoes are also being adjusted. The development team stated that these changes lay the groundwork for future expansions to hub areas, though full Hideout Customization has not been confirmed for Season 5.

Three New Skills

Paladins gain Radiant Lance, a Lightning skill that deals multiplicative damage based on Uncapped Block Chance - granting 1% More Damage for every 1% of Block Chance - and features 500% Added Damage Effectiveness. The skill tree allows players to convert it to Fire or remove the shield requirement in favor of scaling based on Maximum Mana.

Bladedancers in Last Epoch receive a new skill, Dreamslash, which allows them to dash toward a target to attack while a Shadow simultaneously replicates the attack as a projectile. Dream Stacks can trigger an empowered version of the skill, making it well-suited for high-speed map clearing.

Shamans gain Summon Tide Elemental. While classified as a Minion, it is not a Companion; it deals Cold Damage by default but can be converted to Lightning, Physical, or Fire. Certain skill nodes allow it to synergize with Totem mechanics, such as Thorn Totem.

New Unique Items

Among the new Unique items coming to Last Epoch, Devoured Knowledge is designed for Mana-stacking Acolytes, offering defensive bonuses based on Mana, Ward, and Endurance Threshold.

Wrangler's Keepsake targets Primalist builds focused on Minions and Companions, utilizing Aspects to reduce Companion ability cooldowns. Scorched Earth allows Summon Tide Elemental to be converted to Fire element and grants Fire Minion Penetration based on overcapped Fire Resistance.

Unbroken Legion doubles the maximum number of Skeletons but prevents the summoning of other minions that can be specialized. While it primarily encourages pure Skeleton builds - and could potentially be used for Sacrifice-based strategies - its actual performance at high Corruption levels remains to be seen.

Season 5 also introduces Unsated Rage ring; its special Blood Rage affix can trigger effects such as explosions upon enemy death or the re-casting of skills, and the item's stats can be re-rolled using Rage of Morditas.

Last Epoch Unique Items

Chase Uniques

Eternal Font, Gift of the Eidolon, and Death Dance are the ultra-rare Chase Uniques of Season 5.

Eternal Font automatically consumes potions and grants +1 to All Skills; Gift of the Eidolon provides permanent Haste and Frenzy; and Death Dance removes Evade cooldown, triggering the leftmost available skill on your skill bar whenever you Evade.

These items are world drops, and while Circle of Fortune players can target farm them, Merchant's Guild players may instead watch the market and decide whether the asking price in Last Epoch gold is worth paying.

Season 5 assigns more distinct roles to the various methods of acquiring high-tier gear. For players relying on Merchant's Guild, managing gold may also become more important as trading becomes easier and high-end items are easier to compare.

Rage of Morditas handles targeted reward selection and special Forging Potential mechanics, while Nemesis continues to offer gear enhancement; additionally, the buffed Imprinting system may once again become part of the endgame farming loop.

As for whether Radiant Lance, Dreamslash, Summon Tide Elemental, and the new Uniques will ultimately shift the meta, we will have to wait until October 1st launch to observe their actual stats, drop rates, and performance at high Corruption levels.
