Borderlands 4 Story Pack 2 and Bounty Pack 5 will launch on September 10, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, bringing brand new content. If you own Borderlands 4 Super Deluxe edition, Story Pack 2 and Bounty Pack 5 are already included. Otherwise, you'll need to acquire them separately.
This article will provide a detailed breakdown of the content of Borderlands 4 Story Pack 2 and Bounty Pack 5 to help you decide whether to get them.

Story Pack 2
Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort has two parts. The first part includes a new story, the new area of Providence, quests, events, equipment, etc., and is priced at $19.99. The second part mainly features New Playable Vault Hunter and is priced at $9.99.
Story and Setting
Borderlands 4 Story Pack 2 DLC takes players to Providence, a remote tropical island resort located near an active volcano. Once a luxurious retreat built for those chosen by Time Keepers, it has now become a battlefield.
Tediore corporation has dispatched an expedition to the island in an attempt to seize a valuable resource called Ordonite and has established a strong military presence in the region.
The story centers on FL4K, who returns to carry out a rescue mission. His loyal Skager companion, Mr. Chew, has been kidnapped by Tediore soldiers during a hunt.
Tediore corporation plans to extract Mr. Chew's artificial intelligence, and FL4K will not stand idly by. Players will fight alongside FL4K to rescue Mr. Chew and teach the corporation a brutal lesson.
New Zone: Providence
The new map, Providence, in Borderlands 4 emphasizes vertical space and boasts a unique visual style. Unlike the green and gold color scheme typical of Borderlands series, Providence's design is inspired by neon-lit 1980s Miami, with sapphire-colored trees, purple rocks, and pink sunsets dotting the map.
Players can use ziplines to traverse lush jungles, quickly ascending to the treetops to find new combat positions and gain tactical advantages.
The development team also mentioned that players can combine different movement methods to become exceptionally agile, such as gliding from zipline to gliding, then using a grappling hook to dash, and finally returning to the zipline.
The island features a volcano, which Tediore has transformed into a fortified combat base. However, the volcano remains active, spewing Ordonite-rich lava across the island. Sometimes, lava will strike the ground during new world events, spawning mini-bosses.
New Enemies and Bosses
Tediore will deploy a massive army to fight against players. First, there are Deadframes, soldiers wearing exoskeletons who will continue fighting even if their organic parts are destroyed.
Then, players will face heavy mechs equipped with various weapons. These mechs can empower allies and call for reinforcements during combat; they will continuously spawn as long as the commander survives and signals for reinforcements.
This adds a new strategic dimension to the game, requiring players to decide which enemy to prioritize attacking at any given moment.
In addition, players will face five elite managers commanded by Lieutenant Harmony. However, reaching Lieutenant Harmony's location is a challenge in itself, as Tediore has transformed Providence's volcano into a war base.
Players must eliminate Tediore's regular soldiers, massive war machines, and the elite managers leading them to have a chance to challenge DLC's final boss. If you find this process difficult, you can spend Borderlands 4 money to acquire high-damage gear or reallocate your Vault Hunter skill points to change your build.
New Activities
Providence introduces a new event called Digiverse World Event, allowing players to enter Tediore's digital world servers and eliminate enemies before they appear in the real world by infiltrating the digital space.
The digital world is a digital space connected to Tediore Corporation, where digital units will appear in swarms, requiring players to eliminate them quickly.
New Loot
Players who survive the treacherous wilderness of Providence and the occupation by Tediore army will receive powerful new gear. This Story Pack 2 DLC includes 18 pieces of Legendary gear, including two brand-new Pearlescent weapons: Astonisher Ripper shotgun and Vladof Quadratus heavy weapon.
Pearlescent is an extremely rare loot category in the series, making these two weapons among the most coveted rewards in this DLC.
New Playable Vault Hunter: Loveless the Hacker
Borderlands 4 welcomes its second new playable Vault Hunter - Loveless the Hacker, a former hacker for Anxin organization who has now become an assassin.
Loveless possesses cutting-edge cybernetic enhancements and has merged her consciousness with a digital virus she created. This self-aware digital virus can be digitized and materialized, becoming a deadly extension of her pursuit of perfection, thus granting her a unique fighting style.
Her abilities include summoning digital Wyrms to fight alongside her, cloning herself, becoming invisible, and throwing shurikens that infect hordes of enemies, causing plague-like corrosive damage.
After DLC's release, Loveless will be available to players throughout all content in Borderlands 4, possessing her unique traits, active abilities, skill tree, and cosmetic items. It's important to note that she must be acquired separately and is unrelated to Story Pack 2 content.
Bounty Pack 5
Bounty Pack 5 will also be released on September 10, 2026, priced at $5.99. It is also divided into two parts. The first part is a replayable quest featuring the witch Amara from Borderlands 3.
She will investigate the phase rifts and instability caused by the arrival of Elpis in Kairos, tracing the source back to Vile Lictor's old laboratories. Players will return to Elpis to uncover the truth.
Bounty Pack 5 adds a new boss, Vile Grasp, as well as two mini-bosses and a new type of evil enemy. Rewards include a new Pearlescent weapon - the AeroDramatic Torgue Shotgun - and six new Legendary items. Upon completion, players will also unlock a Vault Hunter Skin, a Vehicle, and an ECHO-4 Drone Skin.
The second part is Vault Card 5, sold separately. It offers 24 cosmetic items and 4 resettable Legendary gear items. Rewards do not expire and have no time limit.
This concludes our analysis of Borderlands 4 Story Pack 2 and Borderlands 4 Bounty Pack 5. This DLC will be released alongside 1.10 update. This update will raise the level cap by 10 for all Borderlands 4 players, providing greater flexibility for Vault Hunter character building. Let's look forward to it!
