How to Dominate with C4SH Build in Borderlands 4: Zero Effort Infinite Skill?

Borderlands 4's C4SH build achieves infinite skill duration, high fire rate, and massive damage with minimal effort. Using Cross-Fire and select Specializations, it melts enemies efficiently. This article will detail this powerful and easy-to-use build.

Apr 28, 2026 Author: EZG

Among the myriad skill builds in Borderlands 4, Hellfire C4SH build, centered around C4SH, stands out for its near-unbeatable sustained damage output and extremely low skill barrier.

This build pushes Vault Hunter Cash's active skill, Cross-Fire, to its mechanical limits, achieving infinite duration, an extremely high rate of fire, and a massive skill damage bonus. For players seeking efficient map clearing and boss kills on Kyros, C4SH system offers a near-perfect solution.

This article will objectively break down the build's construction logic, equipment, and Specializations configurations, explain practical operation, and provide a comprehensive evaluation. How to Dominate with C4SH Build in Borderlands 4: Zero Effort Infinite Skill?

Build Logic

All skill points in this build are allocated to two core objectives: maximizing Cross-Fire damage output and achieving a self-sustaining skill duration.

By allocating points along both the red and right-side skill trees, and combining this with a few support skills, a tightly stacked, highly efficient resource-conversion internal loop system is formed.

Red Skill Tree

The red skill tree primarily addresses the base damage frequency of Cross-Fire. Five points in Unleashed directly increase the skill's rate of fire. Your Huckleberry provides 12% critical hit damage, and Shootist increases weapon damage.

Because of Specializations, weapon damage is proportionally converted into skill damage, indirectly enhancing Cross-Fire. The key nodes Stand and Bleed grant Cross-Fire critical hit capability, significantly increasing its damage cap.

The first major range extender, Hell Followed With Him, is a turning point in the build: pressing the right trigger consumes all Fortune Stacks to enter Windfall state, dealing additional fire damage and becoming the starting point for an infinite skill loop.

One point in Hot Hand provides a considerable fire bonus. Subsequently, points are allocated to Devil's Tines for additional range extender slots and Right to Ruin as a kill skill. While aiming for unlimited duration, the return mechanism at the end still serves as a safety net.

Support Skill Tree

The right-hand support skill tree is the core of achieving resource recycling and damage multiplication. Five points in A Blur of Fingers and Brass increase reload speed and skill rate of fire simultaneously with each Fortune Stack gained.

Even more ingenious is Brimstone: C4SH's rate of fire is boosted by reload speed, effectively turning all reload speed-enhancing attributes into a source of rate of fire.

Two points in Mr. Pocket's freeze skill duration, reducing the frequency of skill maintenance. Five points in Unshaken are key to burst damage: each time Fortune Stacks are lost, a full-source damage bonus is gained, and this buff is almost constant in combat.

Three points in From Gloom to Glow convert lost stacks into Overshield, and the shield value can be converted back into additional weapon damage, then further converted into skill damage through Specializations, forming a secondary conversion chain.

Achieving an Infinite Loop

The underlying skills Bleed the Bad and Hell Followed With Him work in tandem: When Cash uses Cross-Fire's burst fire mode, Bleed the Bad provides a chance to enter Windfall and resets the skill's duration.

Actively pressing the right trigger consumes Fortune Stacks, which also refreshes the duration. Players only need to perform the consumption action once when the skill bar is about one-third depleted to maintain the skill indefinitely.

Combined with I Like Those Odds kill skill to gain up to two Bone Totem, and five points in Charm Bracelet for an additional 40% skill damage. The final twelve points are allocated to Fast Hands, Alchemy, Go for Broke, and Late Scratch. Thus, the acquisition and consumption of Fortune Stacks form a high-speed closed loop, driving all buffs to remain active.

Equipment and Specializations Configuration

A significant feature of this build is that weapon quality is not crucial; the vast majority of damage comes from Cross-Fire, and Borderlands 4 Items are only used as a backup for downed survival.

For the recovery kit, Shiny War Paint provides movement speed and a 30% rate of fire bonus. White Elephant mod is the optimal choice: it grants an additional 20% rate of fire and 25% reload speed with each Fortune Stack, and further increases damage if you randomly get extra Unshaken points.

For shields, Watts 4 Dinner is recommended; its excessive shield synergizes with From Gloom to Glow, while also compensating for survivability issues. Prioritize weapon damage and status effect damage mods.

Ordinance is rarely used; focus only on firmware effects: Rubber Band Man provides damage reduction and Life Steal, and equipping all three pieces doubles the effect. Additionally, invest two points in Action Fist Firmware for a 30% skill damage bonus.

The choice of Specializations tree is crucial for transforming a build from a standard skill-based playstyle into a top-tier damage dealer. First, invest ten points in Runner and Sharpshooter to unlock Daredevil, and then allocate twenty points to maximize it to obtain Hound Mind.

Then unlock "I Am a Gun," making all weapon damage bonuses apply to the active skill. Subsequent points can be invested in Sharpshooter to increase reload speed, or transferred to Survivor branch to obtain "Bullets Are Scared of Me" and "The Best Defense," providing additional damage and survivability.

In-Game Operation

This build is extremely simple to operate. After activating Cross-Fire, quickly accumulate Fortune Stacks to ten through shooting or Elemental Effect, or when the skill bar is about one-third depleted, press the right trigger to activate "Hell Followed With Him."

This consumes all Fortune Stacks, triggering Unshaken damage bonus and immediately resetting the skill's duration. Repeat this cycle to keep the skill permanently active.

It should be noted that after using the burst fire mode of Cross-Fire, there is a window of about one to two seconds during which the duration cannot be refreshed immediately by firing the right trigger. You should continue firing or moving during this interval and wait for the cooldown to refresh the duration.

Furthermore, while Watts 4 Dinner and Rubber Band Man offer Life Steal and Damage Reduction, the build lacks active damage mitigation abilities, still requiring players to avoid high burst damage.

Overall Evaluation

The core advantage of this build lies in its damage output. Through deep synergy between the skill tree and Specializations, players can maintain a high rate of fire, high critical hit rate, and multi-layered skill damage multipliers, instantly killing ordinary enemies and melting bosses within seconds.

The skill ceiling is extremely low, heavily reliant on a single skill rotation. The build is cost-effective, with most of its strength derived from the skill tree, and it has a low dependence on Borderlands 4 Items, allowing it to unleash its full potential early on.

On the downside, aside from shield conversion and Life Steal, it lacks hard damage reduction or invulnerability methods, requiring reliance on positioning under pressure, resulting in a low margin for error. There is a brief delay after burst fire, requiring practice to develop a feel for the rhythm.

This build is a Tier 0 skill build in the current version of Borderlands 4, especially suitable for players who want high-efficiency farming and a satisfying experience. With proper skill point allocation and Specializations selection, C4SH system can eliminate all visible enemies.
